My skin type is overall very dry! And these eye creams are very different in comparison to how they help my under eyes! The first eye cream, the origins ginzing brightening eye cream has a very creamy texture, where the olehenriksen banana bright eye creme is not as creamy but is very thick! The origins is for brightening, depuffing, and refreshing! The olehenriksen is for brightening and hydrating! The origins is more drying and isn’t that strong at hydrating for my skin type! But It still works amazing, I think it is good for more normal or combo skin types! The olehenriksen is very hydrating and is super brightening that some days I can go without concealer because it looks like I already have it on, which is amazing! I think I would have to pick the olehenriksen as my favorite because of how it works for my skin type but both are amazing eye creams!FARMACY Honey Grail Ultra-Hydrating Face Oil OR Dermalogica Phyto Replenish Oil
✨My skin is very dry & a good oil is always a great pick me up, especially in the winter! ✨Texture/Consistency? •Farmacy Honey Grail; is a very thick, sticky consistency but it melts into your skin & you can’t feel it. •Dermalogica Phyto-Replenish; is very light & liquid consistency, feels like oil on your face. ✨My thoughts? This or that? I honestly enjoyed the Farmacy Honey Grail more, it made my skin purr hydrated & glowy. I couldn’t feel it at all on my skin, and it didn’t make me breakout at all! It smells like honey & candy! I’m obsessed with this oil! I do like the Phyto-Replenish as well, just don’t love it! It felt like an oil on my face, but it did make my skin feel nice & moisturized. It smells nice like lavender, and it’s got a cool dropper bottle you hold upside down. It is more expensive though. ✨Price Vs. Size? Farmacy Honey Grail oil; it is $48.00 for 1oz Dermalogica Phyto-Replenish oil; it is $76 for 1oz I prefer the Farmacy oil over the Dermalogica, especially since it’s $30 cheaper & it worked better for me!Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Cream OR Dr. Jart+ Cicapair Tiger Grass Cream
The ceramidin cream is hyped up to be a miracle for dry skin, given its five ceramide complex and other ingredients like hyaluronic acid and beetroot extract. It also contains a good amount of shea butter. It also contains less than 1% of synthetic fragrance. On the other hand, the tiger grass cream has centella asiatica extracts and Dr. Jart’s Jartbiome, a “microbiome complex.” It also has shea butter pretty high up on the ingredients list, and there are multiple essential oils. Both are thick creams, though I would say the ceramidin is a bit thicker. Both spread very easily and honestly, they feel amazing on my skin. The ceramidin does feel heavy. It does have a distinct scent, but I know it can be off-putting for some. The tiger grass cream has a light herbal smell—kinda similar to the color correcting cream—and it feels light enough that I’ve been loving it as my daytime moisturizer. It also mixes well with a few drops of oil, which I love adding in. Neither has broken me out (thank goodness!) While I love both, I definitely prefer the ceramidin as a nighttime moisturizer.Soascriptions Nourishing Mask OR Sephora Collection Mask Stick
I have typically oily skin with the occasional breakout and dry spot, but it’s been extra dry lately due to the weather so I’ve been reaching for nourishing masks lately to try and help! . The Soascriptions Nourishing Mask is designed to improve the health and appearance of your skin with various key ingredients. The metallic finish is pretty and love that it doesn’t have a smell. However, the mask is incredibly difficult to wipe off, especially due to the glitter. I have to really rub with a washcloth and it makes my skin pretty red and doesn’t help with nourishing my skin at all. Price: $10.99 for 3 masks (each 1.7 oz/50 mL) Rating: 1/5 . The Sephora Collection Mask Stick is so convenient to use. The scent of this isn’t too strong, but you can definitely smell it. I really enjoy the improvement in hydration and decrease in noticeable dry spots when I use this. I also notice that my face doesn’t feel as tight or dry. This cream mask is so easy to get off!! Price: $8 for 0.88 oz/ 25 g (bottle says 15 uses) Rating: 5/5OLEHENRIKSEN Glow2OH Dark Spot Toner OR PAULA'S CHOICE SKIN PERFECTING 2% BHA LIQUID EXFOLIANT
Price: Paula’s Choice: $29.50 for 4oz Ole Henriksen: $29 for 6.5oz Scent: PC: smells subtly of green tea OH: smells overly fragranced like a sweet candy Consistency: PC: completely clear and liquid, like water OH: completely clear and liquid, like water, with a cooling sensation How my sensitive skin reacts to it: PC: I have slight tingling for 30 seconds after application OH: I have burning and redness for the rest of the night after application Overall thoughts: For my sensitive skin, I will say I prefer the Paula’s Choice product since it doesn’t burn my skin or cause redness after a few minutes after application, but if you are looking to combat wrinkles and fine lines, I would suggest the Ole Henriksen toner. Clogged pores or blackheads? Go with Paula’s Choice. I also can’t stand fragrance so steer clear of Ole Henriksen if you dislike fragrance!FARMACY Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm OR DRUNK ELEPHANT Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser
Keep in mind I have sensitive, dry combination skin! Price: Farmacy Green Clean: $34 for 3.4 Oz Drunk Elephant Slaai: $35 for 3.88oz Scent: Farmacy: smells like animal crackers or lime sherbet DE: has no smell; maybe a medicinal scent if anything When adding water: Farmacy: turns into a visible milky cleanser and washes off easily—skin feels tight afterwards DE: turns into a clear milky cleanser and leaves a light residue on the skin—feels nourishing and ready for the second cleanse Overall thoughts: The Farmacy Green Clean is nice and does a good job removing SPF and makeup, I can’t use it on eye makeup or around my eye area because it burns the absolute heck out of my eyeballs. The Drunk Elephant Slaai is all around a great first cleanse step and preps the skin for the second cleanse without stripping it. If I had to recommend one over the other it would be Slaai 100%.DIFFERIN Adapalene Gel 0.1 %, Acne Treatment OR Curology formula
Differin gel active ingredient is .1% adapalene, a retinoid that works by speeding up cell turnover. Basically, it’s more difficult for pores to get clogged and develop into acne. The texture is a thin gel that absorbs very quickly. I used Differin gel for several years, and it cleared my acne to a far better degree than the products I had been using before (proactiv). On the other hand, Curology is a telemedicine service that matches you with a medical provider. Mine is 1% clindamycin, 9% azelaic acid, and .018% tretinoin. Curology has been helping my skin over the last year in a whole new way. The bright side is, with Curology, you can contact your provider at any time and they can adjust your formula. They helped immensely. If you’re struggling with acne, my #1 recommendation is Curology because it’s customized to your skin needs and it can be adjusted over time. If Curology isn’t available to you, Differin is also a solid product with proven results. Differin is $30 for a tube that lasts about 3 months, and Curology is $20/month, which is more than worth it to me.BITE Agave+ Daytime Vegan Lip Balm OR Milk MAKEUP KUSH Lip Balm
Scent: Bite- kind of honey, kind of sweet! Milk- very minty Texture: Bite- honestly like butter, broke in the tube it’s so soft! Milk- medium thickness, goes on evenly! Function: Bite- perfect for day or night, non irritating, non sticky! Plays well with others! Milk- it messes up any lip product consistency if I use it with a lipstick Price: Bite- $14 for .15oz (I have a mini) Milk- $16 for .1oz Overall: Bite- The scent is so sweet but doesn’t bother me, doesn’t taste bad or break me out. Milk- I think this might be breaking me out. I don’t think I’d ever repurchase this, the minty scent is far too overpowering and makes my lips tingle. Overall, my favorite of the two is the bite balm! It’s easy to apply, smells great, and hydrates much better than milk!

an amazing line for dull skin + pigmentation
Georgette Klinger and Cherie gifted these products to me so I could review them honestly! I have been using them for ten days now, and I have thoughts to share! I supplemented this routine with a moisturizer, spf, and eye cream, as well as hydrating masks every three days. Pre-Information — I’ve used many vitamin c products in the past, and my skin likes the ingredient! I have combo skin, which is sensitive and acne prone. I also have rosacea, which makes my skin red, especially when using actives. Every product here has fragrance and all the products smell like an orchard (it’s strong!). If you are sensitive to fragrance, keep that in mind. GEORGETTE KLINGER - Vitamin C Cleansing Gel 6.7 oz I like this cleanser, and I don’t usually reach for gel cleansers because they tend to be fairly stripping. This one is gentle and doesn’t dehydrate my skin on impact; I use it as a second cleanse at night following an oil based cleanser. It doesn’t irritate my skin, but kind of soothes it instead — which is a lot to ask for from a cleanser. Not the best for daytime use for me, I find that in the mornings my skin is better off with water + toner. Three stars because it smells like dollar store hand soap and I cannot ignore it. GEORGETTE KLINGER - Vitamin C Toner I think it’s an okay toner! I don’t like the dispenser at all, because product comes out fast and it’s hard to control. The viscosity of the toner is pretty thin, but my skin feels smooth after application. It sinks in fast and isn’t sticky! I use this with a reusable cotton round and it preps my skin nicely for the rest of my routine. It’s not really a “special” product for me, and I’m the kind of person who wants skincare routines to be ritualistic and also make me feel good on the inside, so I’ll have to pass on repurchasing. GEORGETTE KLINGER - Vitamin C Complex This might be one of my favorite vitamin c serums! It’s a little tacky, but sinks in faster than some serums I’ve used, and once you apply a moisturizer, the tackiness disappears. It’s pretty gentle and I didn’t experience any discomfort, tingling, or excess redness after application. I really like the packaging on this, and it’s an easy product to slip into your routine. GEORGETTE KLINGER - Vitamin C Mask This is my favorite product out of the four! I LOVE the packaging — pump top for a mask? Revolutionary. The pump makes getting product so easy, and you can control it easily. The texture of this mask is like a thick smoothie, and it smells good, too. I noticed my skin becoming brighter when I use this for a midday pick-me-up. I can guarantee that I’ll run out of this one first. Overall, my skin looks GOOD. I can’t tell if it’s just because of my cycle, or if these products did wonders for me (ten days is a short time to tell I think). I did notice some dehydration towards the five day mark, but overall my skin looks better!
4 VITAMIN C FAVES 💕 Mini Reviews
Vit C should be the most commonly purchased skincare serum. There are so many reasons why a Vitamin C serum is important to use and it's basically a cure-all beauty product. Most serums help with sun damage, fine lines, acne scars, under eye bags, free-radicals and antioxidants. These are the 4 serums I own and love! I wanted to make a post about each of these in case you need help finding the right one. I received @thrivecausemetics Liquid Light Therapy as PR in April (I believe). I can not obsess enough over it. This one is 100% my favorite one I've tried, there is just something about the texture and consistency that feels so good ($59). I love this because it brightens the skin with red and blue light therapy to stimulate collage production and dramatically reduce wrinkles and reveal clear skin @summerfridays CC Me ($64) is next up on my list of faves. This one is also formulated with squalane to boost hydration while sealing in moisture and a peptide complex to help improve with elasticity and firmness. I find that this serum as well as the next one I am going to talk about are really good at brightening dull skin or if you have a lot of hyperpigmentation and use these twice a day, I do find that it truly helps combat it. I love @farmacybeauty lately! I am obsessed. I had a sample of the Very Cherry Bright 15% Clean Vitamin C Serum and once I finished I was really reaching for more, so I caved and purchased a full size ($62) I find this one to be an interesting formula because it has 4 forms of Vitamin C. They use Acerola Cherry Extract which is one of the richest sources of NATURAL vitamin C to known to reduce signs of aging. If we want to talk about funky formulas, nothing could beat @volitionbeauty Strawberry-C Serum ($42). This formula is powered by Strawberry Fruit & Seed Extract to help brighten dull skin as well as unclogging pores and remove excess oil. This was the first full sized Vitamin C I purchased, mainly because of the reviews and the price! Although I no longer reach for this one as much, I do find if you want a great started serum or you aren't looking to spend a lot - this one does the job!
5 Reasons Why I Love TO’s Niacinamide Serum
I first heard about The Ordinary’s Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% serum when I was searching for brightening serums last year. While my combination skin rarely ever breaks out, I do have some dark marks left over from the occasional pimples that I would like to disappear, or at least, improve in appearance. So I ordered TO’s Niacinamide Serum, crossing my fingers and hoping that it’s actually effective. It’s been almost a whole year later and I’m already on my third bottle of this serum. I have to say, I love it more and more as time goes by! Here are the 5 reasons why. 1. It lightens up my dark spots. It’s not a very dramatic change, mind you, but it does lighten my dark spots quite noticeably. I guess I’ll have to use a few more bottles of this serum if I want to completely lighten them. 2. It smoothens my skin’s texture. I can't believe just how nice it is to glide your fingers over your skin and not feel any bumps! 3. It provides much-needed moisture. My skin never feels dry when I have this serum on. I think it’s successful in locking in the moisture from my essence, too. 4. It doesn’t make my skin oily. Even though it moisturizes my skin, it doesn’t make my face look oily or greasy. This is very important to me because I really like keeping my face matte. 5. It makes me look fresh in the morning. Who doesn’t like seeing that healthy glow on their face when they wake up in the morning? Definitely not me! Can you guess what my overall rating is? 💋💋💋💋💋 5 out of 5 kisses! I really enjoy using this product and I think I’ll keep using it for the future, at least until I find a worthy replacement. Hopefully not, though! If you have some dark spots and you’re having a hard time reducing their appearance, you may want to try out The Ordinary’s Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% serum! You can get it for only $5.90 on the Cherie website! The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Have you tried this product before? Loved it, hated it? Let me know in the comments!
How do you heal and treat your skin?
✨I’m gonna share with you my nighttime treatment my skin really appreciates, and how I wake up with much cleaner and radiant skin. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ✨ For a very long time , I would always wake up with dull skin and uneven texture. There won’t be any radiance or glow , and its sort of demotivating to start the day like that. Acne wasn’t a big problem but it did occur few times a month and would always leave scars or blemishes. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ✨ A while ago I came across a Acne Treatment oil called ‘Meltdown’ by @blume 💕 ✨ What is it? It’s an oil for Acne Prone Skin which you can use to prevent acne, clear acne and blemishes. It’s a blend of all natural ingredients. ✨ Key Ingredients Rosehip, Blue Tansy, Tamanu, Lavender, Black Cumin Seed ✨ My thoughts At nighttime, I usually cleanse my with @blume milk based face wash ‘Daydreamer’ . I really like it because its so creamy and gentle. It doesn’t irritate my eyes or skin. To use ‘Meltdown’ , I mix a few drops of this essential oil based serum with @milkmakeup moisturizer. It calms down any inflammation I have and its a perfect nighttime treatment to heal my skin. Now I wake up with much clearer skin which I can feel confident about and start my day. It really heals the skin overnight and any acne I have goes away in a week or so. Its been amazing to clean up the blemishes, and there are only a few areas left. Also, for the people who weren’t able to use @milkmakeup vegan moisturizer because its too rich, I think it would be a great idea to mix it with an oil/serum so it suits your skin. - - What’re your favourite nighttime treatments? Let me know what you think ☺️ BLUME - Daydreamer Face Wash BLUME - Meltdown Milk MAKEUP - Vegan Milk Moisturizer
With patience, Differin worked for me!
I’ve always been skeptical of the products that cause purging, but while in quarantine I decided to give Differin a shot! My skin was congested, breakouts are always popping up, and they were painful. I’ve always been the kind of person to take care of my skin, but I couldn’t manage to get rid of my team for breakouts and the terrible texture on my cheeks and jawline. So, I gave Differin a try. - At first, my skin definitely was dry and irritated because of the product, but I made sure to moisturize well. I tried not to put any make up on and just let my skin do its thing. It’s also important to not pick at your face, which I am SO guilty of doing. - I know everyone’s skin is different, but it only took about a month for it to clear up! I just had another flare up but I’m not sure if it’s stressed related bc #unemployedgrad but this really helped me! Just stay consistent and you’ll see results quickly! 😇
