Thick Shampoo Refill PouchThick hair is so much more than length or amount of follicles. It’s about the density and width of the strand itself. Those with thick strands have more keratin in each piece, and therefore unique care needs. Since this keratin needs to be restored, the thick shampoo adds this protein into the formula. Cherie means no barriers, so don’t run the risk of frizz. With marshmallow root, avocado oil, and shea butter, your locks learn to behave. Better yet - you help reduce Ouai’s carbon footprint by 30% with this refill pouch. 2. Thick Conditioner Refill PouchAs you probably know from the Cherie skin report, thick hair impacts the skin on your face if it’s too weighted down. That’s why this conditioner is super lightweight and washes out smoothly. With thick strands, you know all about being prone to dry hair that just looks for a reason to frizz (humidity, anyone?). Solve this tricky issue with a quality conditioner designed just for your hair needs. 3. Fine Shampoo Refill PouchWhen it comes to Cherie, it’s all about breaking down the barriers to your hair-care dreams. We know that fine hair goes flat without prompting, so this Ouai product equips you with everything you need to win that battle. From biotin to chia seed oil, hemp seed extract to keratin for strength, this is the perfect product for your hair care arsenal. 4. Fine Conditioner Refill PouchWhen you peruse the beauty review app, you see all sorts of solutions to fine hair nourishment. But what about nourishing the earth? This conditioner comes in a recycled package and lets you hold on to your original bottle. Featuring beneficial ingredients for strength (keratin and biotin) and some for a sleek feel (chia and hemp seed oils), both you and your hair will feel amazing. 5. Medium Shampoo Refill PouchBeauty without barriers is all about taking your inner-glow and bringing it to the surface. Of course, medium hair wants to do everything from falling flat to flying frizzy. Handle your unpredictable strands with this shampoo featuring the benefits of coconut oil and added keratin. With awesome smells, you’ll feel like you’re at the spa thanks to the notes of magnolia, jasmine, and peony. The benefits of these products are no secret - it’s all over the internet. For best results, follow it up with the medium conditioner.6. Medium Conditioner Refill PouchSo, you’ve gone on the beauty review app and learned everything about medium hair strands. You know all about the individual needs for those with hair that just wants to misbehave. Thankfully, this hydrating product uses coconut oils and the citrus-goodness of kumquat extract to bring forth your hair’s inner silky smoothness. Beauty without barriers is all about embracing your truth and using that to enhance your inner glory.Hair Care WisdomYou are unique - and so is your hair. Embrace that individuality with products curated for your specific strand type. Not only do you get to stand out from the crowd with truly luscious locks, but you can also keep the earth healthy and thriving. how to deal with acne [do’s/don’t’s]
how to deal with acne [do’s/don’t’s]
🌸 Pics: My skin as of May 23, 2020. Next two: Products I use for killing my zits; See last two bullets for explanation! 🌸 i am not a licensed esthetician or a dermatologist, just someone who has dealt with various forms of my acne for years. I had nodular acne throughout highschool and for most of college, now i deal with hormonal papules and irregular nodules. 🌸 DO your research! research what kind of acne you have. there are many types which require different forms of treatment. There are blackheads, whiteheads, which are the most common and easiest to treat alone. papules and pustules often cause scarring and are harder to treat. Nodules and cysts are painful and inflames under the skin — these pimples need something stronger than OTC medication. 🌸 DON’T trust every product’s claims scrubbing your skin (think St. Ives) can often cause more harm than good because it irritates and tears the skin, leading to more pimples 🌸 DO go to a dermatologist. There are some AMAZING products out there (retinol and tretinoin) that can be prescribed in higher doses than what you find in stores. most are pretty inexpensive 🌸 DON’T overmask! Clay masks can remove excess Sebum, but using them too often will strip your skin and cause your face to product more oil. More oil = more acne. I learned this the hard way. 🌸 DO use a facial oil! it sounds kind of crazy, but using a noncomedogenic oil like Squalene mimic sebum on the skin and caused your face to produce less of the gunky stuff. 🌸 DON’T pick at them with your bare unwashed hands. That’s how scarring and infection happen. And not all acne can be physically extracted in this manner. If you have a more severe type, thatll just make it worse. I am a believer that you CAN POKE at acne but... 🌸 DO lance your zits with sterile tools before adding a pimple patch. People often complain that these things don’t work, of course they dont without an opening. I use a pin with isopropyl alcohol or my sanitized blackhead/whitehead extractor. This is most effective on whiteheads and pustules. If a nodule comes to a head, i can use it.
My favourite tinted SPF
My favourite tinted SPF
Sunscreen is the last and most important part of my AM routine. It protects skin from UV rays and prevents uneven skintone, dark spots, and aging from sun damage. I make sure to re-apply it every 2 hours even when it’s cloudy/rainy! That being said: This tinted moisturizer is my favourite SPF!! It's perfect for my oily-combo skin. The slight tint gives a sheer coverage and evens out my skin tone a little, and the matte finish keeps it from looking greasy. It’s easy to blend and absorb into skin due to its light texture. I still apply moisturizer beforehand cause I feel like it's not enough to moisturize my skin but overall I’d say this one is sooo worth the try!
How do you heal and treat your skin?
How do you heal and treat your skin?
✨I’m gonna share with you my nighttime treatment my skin really appreciates, and how I wake up with much cleaner and radiant skin. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ✨ For a very long time , I would always wake up with dull skin and uneven texture. There won’t be any radiance or glow , and its sort of demotivating to start the day like that. Acne wasn’t a big problem but it did occur few times a month and would always leave scars or blemishes. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ✨ A while ago I came across a Acne Treatment oil called ‘Meltdown’ by @blume 💕 ✨ What is it? It’s an oil for Acne Prone Skin which you can use to prevent acne, clear acne and blemishes. It’s a blend of all natural ingredients. ✨ Key Ingredients Rosehip, Blue Tansy, Tamanu, Lavender, Black Cumin Seed ✨ My thoughts At nighttime, I usually cleanse my with @blume milk based face wash ‘Daydreamer’ . I really like it because its so creamy and gentle. It doesn’t irritate my eyes or skin. To use ‘Meltdown’ , I mix a few drops of this essential oil based serum with @milkmakeup moisturizer. It calms down any inflammation I have and its a perfect nighttime treatment to heal my skin. Now I wake up with much clearer skin which I can feel confident about and start my day. It really heals the skin overnight and any acne I have goes away in a week or so. Its been amazing to clean up the blemishes, and there are only a few areas left. Also, for the people who weren’t able to use @milkmakeup vegan moisturizer because its too rich, I think it would be a great idea to mix it with an oil/serum so it suits your skin. - - What’re your favourite nighttime treatments? Let me know what you think ☺️ BLUME - Daydreamer Face Wash BLUME - Meltdown Milk MAKEUP - Vegan Milk Moisturizer
Is your skin craaazy dry? Read my do’s and don’t
Is your skin craaazy dry? Read my do’s and don’t
I’ve got very dry skin in the colder months. I also live in a dry environment. I’ve put together some general do’s and donts that work for me when my skin is seriously dry. Now, please note that I enjoy 99% of the products I’m going to mention, but some I just have to reserve for using in warmer months when my skin is less dry. DO pay attention to what kind of first cleanse you use. I like FORMULA 10.0.6 - Bare Face Beauty Skin-Hydrating Cleansing Oil because it breaks down my makeup and leaves my skin feeling soft. DON’T use a first cleanse that dries your skin out like the GOOD MOLECULES - Instant Cleansing Balm (a little bit drying) DO look at ingredients lists and brand descriptions of cleansers. Opt for something with a gel or milky texture that either doesn’t lather are all, or barely lathers. I enjoy the bareMinerals - PURENESS GEL CLEANSER (but not if you’re sensitive to coconut). DON’T use a cleanser with harsh acids, such as salicylic acid in the TRULY - CBD Jelly Anti Acne Facial Cleanser , because they can dry out your skin even more. DO use a hydrating toner. I love the PAULA'S CHOICE - Resist Advanced Replenshing Toner because it contains hyaluronic acid and has a soothing, milky texture. DON’T use toners with astringent properties or essential oils like the MARIO BADESCU - Witch Hazel & Lavender Toner (I steaigjt is just don’t really like this even when my skin isn’t super dry). Toners with those ingredients can dry your skin out further. DO layer and mix serums (make sure you do some research first!). I enjoy the Wyldflower Labs - Sunshine Serum - Multitasking Day Repair Serum and LILY SADO - Green Tea + Vitamin C Super Serum . DO use some chemical exfoliants when experiencing a breakout, but be careful to use a concentrated spot application. I like the PAULA'S CHOICE - SKIN PERFECTING 2% BHA LIQUID EXFOLIANT because it is effective and can be easily applied in an affected area. I use this 1-3x/wk in the PM. DON’T use harsh chemical exfoliants and don’t use them too frequently. The YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Kombucha + 11% AHA Exfoliation Power Toner is very strong. It can cause irritation, especially on dry areas, and if used to often has caused white heads. DO moisturize! I love the pixi - Rose Ceramide Cream when I have stubborn dry patches that won’t go away. I also like the unscented, soothing GOOD MOLECULES - Silicone-Free Priming Moisturizer . DON’T use a moisturizer that’s not geared towards extra dry skin like the Clark's Botanicals - Jasmine Vital Cream While this is a nice moisturizer, its light gel texture is more suited for normal-oily skin, or dry skin in the summer. #CherieCreator
Do’s & Don’t’s of A Sensitive Skin Routine
Do’s & Don’t’s of A Sensitive Skin Routine
In my opinion, all skin is sensitive- but people with particularly reactive skin have to take extra caution, especially when you have a condition like eczema (hey fam!) and rosacea. Personally, I have combination sensitive skin and eczema, but nowadays my skin is pretty normal. Here’s some tips to follow when building your basic skincare routine... • Don’t: Jump into a ten-step routine. Overwhelming skin with so many products can easily aggravate sensitive skin, while also making it harder to figure out what one is irritating your skin. Take your time. • Do: Iron out the basics! Before introducing serums, make sure to find a cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen combination that gently nourishes skin. Avoid exfoliants in these so that they’re a safe fall-back if your skin starts flaring up. My favourite sensitive skin cleansers are HOLI FROG - Tashmoo Water Lily Nourishing Milky Wash and PAULA'S CHOICE - RESIST Perfectly Balanced Foaming Cleanser , as they cleanse without stripping skin of protective oils. My go-to sensitive skin (and all skin) sunscreens are PAULA'S CHOICE - Essential Glow Moisturizer SPF 30 (mineral) and PAULA'S CHOICE - YOUTH-EXTENDING DAILY HYDRATING FLUID SPF 50 (chemical). • Don’t: Use products with fragrance, alcohol, or essential oils. Alcohol is drying and can weaken the skin barrier, your skin’s defense against environmental damage. Fragrance and essential oils not only have a high chance of irritating skin, but also oxidize upon contact with the air, releasing free radicals that break down collagen. Avoid these. • Do: Incorporate antioxidants. Antioxidants battle environmental aggressors, neutralize free radicals, soothe skin, and calm redness. These and a good sunscreen are going to be your best combination for calm, youthful skin! I utilize a couple drops of The Ordinary - Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3% on mornings I forgo vitamin c, but I also enjoy the silky texture of PAULA'S CHOICE - Retinol Super Antioxidant Serum for a gentle, moisturizing retinol that is also loaded with antioxidants. • Don’t: Try to smother skin into submission. Piling on layers of the heaviest cream may provide temporary relief, but it can lead to congestion and acne, which will only inflame skin more in the long-term. • Do: Combine fatty acids, ceramides, peptides, and/or hyaluronic acid treatments to repair the skin barrier, promoting moisture retainment in multiple levels. Layering different types of hydration/moisture from thinnest to thickest is better for your skin and will promote healing the root cause versus treating the symptoms. I love combining PAULA'S CHOICE - Resist Anti-Ageing Omega+ Complex Serum and NIOD - Multi-Molecular Hyaluronic Complex underneath my moisturizer to hydrate + nourish my skin and reduce frequency of my eczema flare-ups.
