One moment, you may have it all figured out and be completely content. The next, your life can shift drastically — and so can your sense of self. We have a tendency to shape our worth and sense of self around external factors; what we do, how we look, where we fit into the world. But as we shift gears in life, these external factors that shape our worth no longer ring true. This is where finding inner beauty becomes so important. Yukina Mitsuhashi, makeup artist and mother-to-be, sits down with Cherie to share how she found a renewed sense of beauty through her different roles in life. Finding Beauty in the Midst of Bodily Change"I became pregnant about eight months ago and everything changed. I used to love to work out to release stress, or go out with my girlfriends and have fun. That was my type of self love. That made me feel good about myself. After I found out I was pregnant, it was so awesome and such a blessing, but my body has been changing a lot. It was really hard in the beginning because I couldn't work out how I used to. You can't really do hard-core exercise like boxing. So instead, I just walked around parks and looked around and did some hiking too. I realized that when I was moving so fast, I really didn't observe nature or see people before as much as I do right now. This is how I found beauty in people. Slowing down, I noticed how happy people looked and how truly beautiful nature is. Before, I was more focused on getting through my workout; now I'm more focused on what's around me. Now, self love isn't just about me, but it's about other people and other stuff that makes me happy."How Pregnancy Shapes Self-Care"I care about my body health more than before. I try to eat more nutritious and find a balance because it affects my health and my baby too. I really care about what I eat. I try to listen to slower music. It makes me calm down and relax. Meditation also prepares my mindset. I also practice yoga because it helps you stretch and build patience in your body while meditation helps prepare you mentally. Self love is really important for you to be able to love other people too. If you don't love yourself, you can't really love another person. Find out about who you are and maintain your health and balance. Make other people happy, love other people. That's self love. You've got to make a balance in your body, both mentally and physically to be able to love another person."Becoming a Mother Forms a Deeper Definition of Natural Beauty"Before, beauty was more about doing makeup making people more confident inside. Being pregnant, I've been able to see more natural beauty in women as a woman. Women are so amazing. I'm amazed by all of the women who carry little babies in their bellies growing together as one human being. It makes me almost cry that women are so awesome. Before I couldn't know how pregnant women feel or how they changed in their bodies, and all those changes are for someone else, not only you. That's beauty: the fact that a woman's body cares so much for someone else. You don't have to try for natural beauty; it just comes from inside. Caring as a mother, you have to care about your kids all the time. I think there's beauty in children being protected by and coming from a woman's body."The Key to Happiness"I think everybody should do whatever makes them happy. Don't do anything that makes you unhappy or affects you in your heart. If you love your work, keep going. That's what I do; I'm almost due but I still work because I love to do makeup to make other people happy. And making people happy with my work makes me happy and that's self love too. I'm always happy to do makeup and that affects me positively. Do what you love and just keep going."Yukina's Most-Loved Beauty

Dry Shampoo white residue? Don’t worry I got you
I love a dry shampoo with a lot of powder because it is what is absorbing the oil to make your hair look less greasy. However, sometimes there is a little white powder residue that I can’t seem to rub into my dark hair. Simple solution 💡!! Shine spray! It makes it all blend away! Using: KLORANE - Detox Dry Shampoo With Organic Aquatic Mint REDKEN - Shine Flash 02 Shine Spray
My AM routine while rocking cherie merch!
@cheriethanks for the cute sweatshirt! I am obsessed. Here is my am routine! sisley - FLORAL TONING LOTION First I tone and prep my skin with this toner. I love this toner so much because it is so hydrating and doesn’t strip the skin. It also moisturizes while helping to clean and prep it to absorb other products. NATURIUM - Hyaluronic Acid Essence 2% Then I use this essence. I love this brand so much and this essence is so hydrating and light. It helps plump and prepares it for the serum. NATURIUM - Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2% Next I use this serum which I have been enjoying. It is super gentle that I can even use it during the day. So far my skin has been tolerating it very well. I also notice my dark spots decreasing much quicker. LORD JONES - Acid Mantle Repair CBD Moisturizer Then I use this moisturizer that I am obsessed with. It so far has been my favorite product of the year. It’s so hydrating and calming. It feels amazing on the skin as well. Last I finish off with a sunscreen. I previously reviewed this before! It’s from Korean brand Corthe. ^^ what do you like to do in your morning routine?

Curology vs The Ordinary! Which is better?!
Curology - Curology formula This is the first photo! Did wonders for my skin it was the best it had ever been since I started getting acne in middle school. Curology literally saved my skin, it was clear and great! (Over a year later) The second photo:/ I decided to stop using curology around 2 months ago and start using ordinary products. I decided to do this because I wanted to see if the ordinary could do the same thing as curology and maybe make my skin even better. This wasn’t because curology was bad or anything It was just something I wanted to test. I was pretty confident in my skin so I didn’t think it would be bad. I saw on social media how great it was so I figured why not? ... After slowly introducing ordinary products into my skincare routine to ( i used both ordinary and curology products together) I could see that my skin was breaking out more when I introduced the ordinary products. I didn’t think much of it cause I knew that my skin was just purging from the new products. After about 2 months of using both curology and ordinary products I decided to just try ordinary products because my skin was breaking out a lot and I felt that the ordinary would help it. (I think should’ve stuck with curology but this was just my curiosity about the product). ... (Now) I am on week 6 of using all ordinary products and this is what my skin looks like (photo 2) and I’m not happy with the results:/The first couple weeks I knew I would be purging, my skin was at its worst a couple weeks ago (week 3). But I figured that by now or next week my skin would be clear( the only reason I felt that my skin would be pretty much clear by now or next week was because while using curology all my acne was gonna by week 7). So I’m still trying to figure out if I wanna continue to use the ordinary products for a couple more weeks before I give up because it’s not giving me the results I want. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I don’t really know how to rate this because obviously it hasn’t worked for my skin very well but I’m not sure if it’s because my skin needs more time to adjust (it has been 6 weeks so...). I think that this product works great for some people but for me definitely not. Right from the start of using it, it broke me out and then once I only used this line of products it made my skin terrible. I also used The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution Which didn’t do much in the 6weeks I used it. I did feel like it helped my acne a little. Overall I really did wish this line of products would help my acne and make my skin clear like curology but that wasn’t the case. This product line is definitely not for my skin. I’ll write out my skin care routine comparisons in my next post!
