All About Acne PatchesOne of the trendiest ways to heal acne, acne patches came onto the beauty scene a few years ago by way of K-beauty (of course!). Today, it seems like there's a new acne patch every week! In the sea of pimple-zapping patches, which ones actually do their job? We tried six acne patches based on performance, price, accessibility, and popularity, to see what deserves to be on your shelfie, and what deserves to stay in the store. If you are hesitating between the following brands, just keep scrolling down! - CosRX - Hero Cosmetics - Dr. Jart - TRULY - Starface - ZitSticka About the test: Three different users with different acne types tested out two patches each and chose which one, if any (or both!) deserve your hard-earned cash. Every patch was tested under the same conditions; overnight, on a cleansed face. Test #1: Mighty Patch vs. CosRX a.k.a The OG'sTester's skin type: Sensitive, acne-prone — Tester's acne type: Cystic and whiteheads"Both of these patches blend in well to the skin and stayed on all night. I definitely noticed my acne heal quicker than usual. I liked that CosRX comes in a resealable package and included different sizes, which is great for various acne. I tried two of each patch on the same night on some existing acne that needed some healing, and was really happy to wake up with all four of the pimples noticeably smaller! If I had to pick a winner, it would be Mighty Patch. The difference is slight, but there!"Test #2: Zitsticka vs. Dr. Jart + Focusspot a.k.a The MicroneedlesTester's skin type: Combination with oily T-zone — Tester's acne type: Hormonal and cystic"Both of these patches are made to work for 'underground' zits, like cystic acne, and acne yet to form. I first tried Zitsticka on an oncoming pimple. I wanted to avoid it becoming a cystic zit—which Zitsticka claims to do. Zitsticka comes with two steps; first is 'The Cleaner' which is a wipe with tea tree oil and other acne-fighting ingredients. After cleansing the pimple, you put the patch on, which has micro darts that help penetrate ingredients into your skin. I was surprised at how much I could feel the 'darts'. It wasn't uncomfortable, but I could definitely feel it on my face. After taking off the patch, there was still a bit of a mark left by it which took about half an hour to come down. Zitsticka brought all the gunk to the surface, turning my oncoming pimple into a whitehead, and then two days later it deflated.""Next, I tried Dr. Jart+ Focusspot on another soon-to-be cystic zit. I could feel it starting to form, and turned to Dr. Jart+ to end things before they began. Focusspot also has darts in it, but it sits really well and I barely felt it! You could still feel the darts, but it wasn't as noticeable as Zitsticka. I'm excited to report that the Focusspot prevented the zit from ever popping up!"Test #3 Truly Organic vs. Starface a.k.a The CutiesTester's skin type: Oily — Tester's acne type: Hormonal "I had a random, general breakout on my cheek the other day, with a particularly large pimple at the center of it all. I tried Truly Organic's <3 Your Imperfections on this zit because it was taking up precious real estate. These little hearts are so cute, and hydrocolloid is the ingredient that claims to protect and heal blemishes overnight. I put the patch on my pimple overnight and woke up with... the same pimple. Sigh!""Next up, I tried Starfaceon a couple of pimples of similar size. Starface also uses hydrocolloid as the key ingredient in pimple healing, and the little stars are also so cute! I put one star over the two pimples, kept it on overnight, and... IT WORKED! Winner winner!"
Our RankingBased on our test above, we ranked the six acne patches based on how well they work, their value, and their accessibility (a.k.a how easily you can find and purchase the patch near you!).TO BUY:
Dr. Jart+Focuspot Blemish Micro Tip Patch with Vitamin B3$18.00
COSRXCosrx Acne Pimple Master Patch$6.00
Highlights: A patch from the future that puts your zit in the past. Sounds like horoscope jargon but nope. ZitSticka have harnessed the latest in dermatological science and cosmetic technology to develop a patch that blends perfectly-picked ingredients with a stupidly smart delivery system. A ZitSticka.
TRULYBlemish Treatment Acne Patches$10.00
Highlights: Pimple spot treatments have never been the most glamorous of beauty products, UNTIL NOW! The pink heart-shaped Blemish Treatment Acne Patches by Truly Organic seem deceptively simple and way too cute to actually work but their ability to summon bacteria deep within the skin is no joke.
Let’s learn a no heat style! Start by gathering your hair to one side Begin a rope braid in the front by twisting two pieces. Add hair to each section and twist again. Continue this pattern until you reach your ear. Split the remaining hair into two. While holding the section pop index finger and thumb through. Grab through the other section and repeat! Secure with an elastic. Xo
Curology vs The Ordinary! Which is better?!
Curology - Curology formula This is the first photo! Did wonders for my skin it was the best it had ever been since I started getting acne in middle school. Curology literally saved my skin, it was clear and great! (Over a year later) The second photo:/ I decided to stop using curology around 2 months ago and start using ordinary products. I decided to do this because I wanted to see if the ordinary could do the same thing as curology and maybe make my skin even better. This wasn’t because curology was bad or anything It was just something I wanted to test. I was pretty confident in my skin so I didn’t think it would be bad. I saw on social media how great it was so I figured why not? ... After slowly introducing ordinary products into my skincare routine to ( i used both ordinary and curology products together) I could see that my skin was breaking out more when I introduced the ordinary products. I didn’t think much of it cause I knew that my skin was just purging from the new products. After about 2 months of using both curology and ordinary products I decided to just try ordinary products because my skin was breaking out a lot and I felt that the ordinary would help it. (I think should’ve stuck with curology but this was just my curiosity about the product). ... (Now) I am on week 6 of using all ordinary products and this is what my skin looks like (photo 2) and I’m not happy with the results:/The first couple weeks I knew I would be purging, my skin was at its worst a couple weeks ago (week 3). But I figured that by now or next week my skin would be clear( the only reason I felt that my skin would be pretty much clear by now or next week was because while using curology all my acne was gonna by week 7). So I’m still trying to figure out if I wanna continue to use the ordinary products for a couple more weeks before I give up because it’s not giving me the results I want. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I don’t really know how to rate this because obviously it hasn’t worked for my skin very well but I’m not sure if it’s because my skin needs more time to adjust (it has been 6 weeks so...). I think that this product works great for some people but for me definitely not. Right from the start of using it, it broke me out and then once I only used this line of products it made my skin terrible. I also used The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution Which didn’t do much in the 6weeks I used it. I did feel like it helped my acne a little. Overall I really did wish this line of products would help my acne and make my skin clear like curology but that wasn’t the case. This product line is definitely not for my skin. I’ll write out my skin care routine comparisons in my next post!
✨Cute Bun Hairstyle✨
Hi Guys!!! I recently saw this scrolling on Pinterest and I wanted to recreate it! It’s SO easy and took about 5 minutes total!! It looks so fancy yet it’s so simple! I have medium to thin hair but this can work on pretty much all hair types! (: (tip: spray texture spray beforehand) this helps it stay in better!)☺️ HOW TO: -I like to pull my bangs out first (: - you’re going to section it as if you’re doing a half up half down hairstyle -then you’re going to start twisting that part of your hair -I twist it around like I’m doing a ballerina bun😅 -then I secure it with a hair tie ❤️ -you can leave like that! Or I like to pull it out a little so it’s more loose!✨😊
GRWM! New products and some old!
Hello everyone! I did another GRWM using some new and old products! First I started off with a primer. I used e.l.f. - Poreless Putty Primer I was actually really surprised by this. It reminded me of Tachas silk canvas primer. It went on smoothly and did a good job of blurring my skin. I will say though after I looked at my makeup in the mirror up close it did settle a bit into my pores and my creases and was pretty noticeable. Overall I think this is a good product and will work for people with smoother skin. e.l.f. - 16HR Camo Concealer Then I used the elf concealer. I love this concealer. I’ve used it so many other times in my other videos. WINKY LUX - Diamond Powder Foundation Then I used the winky lux foundation. This actually went on so nicely and was super natural looking. I love how it’s so weightless and decreases shine. I would recommend this for people with oilier skin. the CRÈME shop - "Macro Brow" Angled Brow Pencil + Spooley Then i used macro brow. This is just to fill in the last bits of my eyebrow to look fuller. It’s easy to use and has a great price point. I just wish the pigment was a little easier to apply. You have to push so hard. RITUEL DE FILLE - Rare Light Crème Luminizer My favorite brand of highlighters ever. Just so pretty and pigmented. All natural and cruelty free. An amazing brand overall. 💞 fresh - Sugar Lip Treatment Sunscreen SPF 15 I used a tinted fresh lip treatment. Love the way they hydrate and the subtle color it gives off. They also smell and taste really good 😂. Hope you enjoyed getting ready with me! Let me know if you have any questions about the products I used.
