Download the app today to be a part of #BeautyWithoutBarriers and show the world what beauty means to you!Shakira recently performed at the Super Bowl 2020, and viewers around the world were blown away by her youthful appearance as well as her singing and dancing. Although the pop star is in her early 40s, she has the smooth, glowing skin of someone much younger. In fact, she doesn’t look much different now than she did in the early 2000s, when she first found mainstream success. While some of Shakira’s youthful appearance is due to good genes, an anti-aging skincare routine can help you achieve a similarly glowy look. Here are some key natural anti-aging tips, as well as some of our favorite products to keep you looking young no matter what your age.Anti-Aging Tips For Your Daily RoutineLiving a healthy lifestyle is the easiest way to fight off the signs of aging. Some of the best ways to prevent aging are small things that don’t require much effort. Incorporating these tips into your routine at a young age is the best way to keep your skin looking youthful for a long time. Here’s what you should be doing as part of your daily routine for healthy, happy skin. 1. Wear sunscreen every day, even if you’re not spending much time outside. Putting on sunscreen in the morning should be part of your daily routine. Even small amounts of sun exposure can lead to discoloration and spots on your skin. Sun exposure also breaks down collagen in your skin much faster than it would naturally. Collagen is the substance that keeps your skin looking full and supple. Look for a physical sunscreen that doesn’t have any harmful chemicals or irritants. There are also many makeup brands that include SPF in their foundations for a little bit of extra protection, which are good to add to your makeup routine. 2. Carry a water bottle with you throughout the day to stay hydrated. We all know we’re supposed to be drinking plenty of water, but sometimes it can be difficult to put this into practice. Keeping a water bottle with you makes it much easier to drink water whenever the urge strikes. You should also keep dehydrating drinks like alcohol and coffee to a minimum. Dehydration can make the fine lines and wrinkles in your skin look much more prominent. 3. Maintain a healthy diet full of antioxidants.Antioxidants are a group of nutrients that protect your skin cells from damage. Vitamin C is a particularly great antioxidant for keeping your skin healthy. You should also make sure you’re getting plenty of protein and omega-3 fatty acids in your diet - these nutrients will help your skin maintain good collagen levels and stay hydrated. Keep the amount of sugar in your diet to a minimum, as it breaks down the collagen and elastin in your skin quickly. 4. Exfoliate your skin regularly. Exfoliating is the process of removing the top layer of dead skin cells from your face. There are two ways to exfoliate - chemically or physically. Physical exfoliators use small beads or other rough particles to remove the skin cells from your face. Chemical exfoliants naturally separate the dead skin cells from your face. If you don’t exfoliate, your skin will start to look dull, and your fine lines and wrinkles will look more prominent. Top Anti-Aging ProductsIn addition to maintaining healthy daily habits, it’s important to have anti-aging skincare products in your routine. There’s a huge range of anti-aging products on the market, so you can find products that work well for your skin type. Here are some of our favorite anti-aging products on the market. Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic + Retinol Anti-Aging MoisturizerThis moisturizer from Dr. Dennis Gross has plenty of nourishing ingredients to keep your skin looking youthful. Retinol is a popular ingredient in many anti-aging products because it increases your skin’s collagen production and healing process. Ferulic acid, the other main ingredient in this moisturizer, is a strong antioxidant that protects your skin cells from damage. Plenty of moisturizing ingredients keep the formula very rich and hydrating.Drunk Elephant TLC Sukari BabyfacialThis is an excellent chemical exfoliant that will not only remove dead skin cells from your face, but will also leave your skin feeling soft and glowy. It contains alpha and beta hydroxy acids, two powerful anti-aging ingredients, but it also is pH balanced to prevent irritation. The result is smoother skin with less prominent wrinkles and fine lines. You won’t need to exfoliate every day - once or twice a week is more than enough to improve the texture of your skin. Sunday Riley CEO Vitamic C Rich Hydration CreamVitamin C is one of the best ingredients for youthful skin, and it’s a key player in this excellent formula from Sunday Riley. Not only does it fight off signs of aging, but it’s also great for treating redness and irritation. This moisturizer helps protect your skin from external stressors that can trigger signs of aging.SkinCeuticals Metacell RenewalThis serum delivers a shot of vitamin B3 to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and even out skin tone. It’s also full of glycerin, which is excellent for moisturizing the skin. Tri-peptide concentrate firms the skin to prevent sagging and create a much more youthful appearance. The serum is very lightweight and doesn’t cause any irritation, making it a good one for many different skin types.

💜This is a recent Tatcha haul I scooped from Sephora with my VIB discount & saved up points, but I definitely placed an order today on tatcha.com to take advantage of their 20% off sale. Such a good time to purchase from Tatcha! I grabbed a couple old 5 star favorites like the Gold Spun lip balm & their Japanese blotting papers, as well as some other things I’ve been wanting to check out. Tatcha is actually an American brand, made in Japan🇯🇵, that adheres to Japan’s official safety & purity standards, one of the highest in the world, much stricter than the US (for more on that, check out my last post, or the 2015 documentary on Netflix called Stink) They were recently acquired by Unilever, so I hope they don’t ever change their standards! Tatcha sources all of their botanical extracts, ingredients & actives from plants grown in the most renowned provenances of Japan. 🍵🍚🌊Their formulas revolve around key ingredients Green Tea, Rice & Seaweed, the trinity of superfoods, rich in both nutrients & Japanese history, based on a Japanese document from 1813 which captured the beauty rituals of the time. ➕Their 2x fermented ‘Hadasei-3 complex’ yields over 85 actives like Enzymes, Minerals, Lactic & Amino Acids. It’s been a couple years since I’ve purchased Tatcha products, I’ve always loved their face creams, but we all know Tatcha is pricey!!! I think I was just always into moving on & trying something new, but oh how I missed them! I haven’t had as much luck with Tatcha cleansers in the past, I do adore their rice polish exfoliators 🍚 but personally was never a fan of the ‘One Step Camellia cleansing oil’ scent. I don’t think I’ve ever tried ‘The Deep Cleanse’ but I’m actually most excited to try their new cream cleanser: ‘The Rice Wash’🍚💦 I was also excited to finally try ‘The Silk Peony melting eye cream’ too, so this set was a no brainer! TATCHA - Pure & Glowing Trio set: $72 The ‘Pure & Glowing Trio’ set includes: a full size 1.7 oz Dewy Skin cream ($68) a 1.7 oz Rice Wash cleanser (full size is $35/4 oz) & 0.17 oz Silk Peony eye cream (full size $60/.5 oz) 🍬For now I’m just gonna share texture swatches & ingredients, but stay tuned... I’ll be rating everything in full review of every product coming soon! 💧TATCHA - Balanced Skin Duo The other products pictured are minis from a ‘Sephora Beauty Insider’ 300-point option that included: one mini ‘The Deep Cleanse’ 0.85 oz & one mini ‘The Water Cream’ 0.34 oz TATCHA - The Deep Cleanse Exfoliating Cleanser Full size: $38/5 oz TATCHA - The Water Cream Full size $68/1.7 oz 💜In the meantime, check out that sale! And tell me your favorite Tatcha product(s) in the comments... or tell me about the ones that didn’t work for you!

HALLOWEEN GHOST NAIL TUTORIAL👻💅🏽
HALLOWEEN GHOST NAIL TUTORIAL👻💅🏽
I saw this look on Pinterest with black nails and i thought I would recreate with white nails. I have never done nail art before so this was a challenge for me but here is how I recreated the look: Products used: •beetles Gel Polish - Poly Gel Kit for Nail this kit I prefer because the gels work better and are not as sticky as the next polygel kit. •#Sexy mix - Polygel nail kit[products]#[FourStars] this kit comes with lots of materials to create pretty nails but the polygel is very sticky and sometimes does not harden completely •L.A. Girl - Color Pop Nail Polish this nail polish can be a little bit thick and sticky, so work in thin coats and layer more if necessary •NYC NEW YORK COLOR - Long Wearing Nail Enamel this nail polish is very thin but full coverage so it works well. It dries quickly which is nice •nail filer •small detailed nail brush •gel lamp To recreate the ghost design:  •First I applied a thin layer of the polygel base coat to my nail and cured in a UV lamp for 90 seconds •Then I used the clear polygel, slip solution, a nail brush, and a correct-fitting nail form to create a fake nail. I would recommend choosing a form slightly bigger opposed to smaller because you can always file down the excess. Apply a small amount of polygel to the form. Dip the brush into the slip solution so its coated but not damp. Smooth out the polygel in the form so it reaches all of the edges. Make sure there are no bubbles in the gel. •Next, apply the nail form to your finger at a 45 degree angle. Slowly place the gel onto the nail. Do not push the form as it could create the gel to spill out. Cure the nail under the lamp for 90 seconds. •After the nail was cured, I popped the form off and filed my nail into an oval shape. I also filed down the nail so it was thin. This also creates a super shiny coat once the top coat is applied.  •Next it was time for the design. I used a very small detailed nail brush I found off of Amazon and the two white and black polishes listed above. I first started off with the ghost’s body. Then I created his little arm. Next I used the black to create the ghosts face. I also created a thin french nail by applying a white line on the top of my nail. Let dry. •Lastly I applied I thin layer of polygel top coat and cured my nail for an additional 90 seconds. And…. there you have it, Halloween ghost nails. 🎶: Elixr by WYS & The Jazz Cafe #CheriePartner
Dupe alert of TATCHA 🚓 e.l.f. 💕$8 vs. 54$
Dupe alert of TATCHA 🚓 e.l.f. 💕$8 vs. 54$
Hi Cherie sisters 👯‍♀️ 💗 I want to share my recent fav product: e.l.f. poreless putty primer. I can tell that I’m a huge fan of TATCHA. The silk canva primer was by far the best primers I’ve found on the market (until I found e.l.f.). But I have continued my hunt to test out some more possible dupes with lower price. While scrolling through Cherie, I saw a post about e.l.f. poreless putty primer could be the dupe alert of TATCHA. I recently picked this up from Target and I can tell it is a dupe through component type, color, texture - everything and only $8.00 !!!! Cheap and great quality products. When I open it, it smells a bit chemically. I love the texture: feels like a mix of solid coconut oil and butter (close to a balm but not greasy) . It wasn’t stick or oily for me personally, and I felt it was a little less thick than the TATCHA !!!! It really does make for a flawless look since it is soooo smoothing and completely poreless just like it states. It definitely feels like silk when you touch it as TATCHA does. I'm dry skin type, and this is best for me since is def not dry when I use it, and it's not necessarily hydrating. I love TATCHA, but it was kind of pricey and didn’t last me that long. e.l.f. primer is the best dupe alert of TATCHA silk canva for students who can’t always afford to buy overly expensive makeup (just like me). Lower price with same quality. Gorgeous product!! Tips: I like to use finger to apply primer all over my face. The warmth from fingers will help better break the product down for easier application than brush.
To shave, or not to shave?
To shave, or not to shave?
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard the question, “Will my hair grow back thicker?” When discussing shaving ones face, or even just body hair in general, so I decided to make this post. Just a little preamble here.. I myself have facial hair. No, I do not have PCOS, I’m just a hairy lady 🤷🏻‍♀️ and I’ve learned how to accept it over the years because trust me when I tell you it was a self-esteem battle! I’ve tried every single hair removal product and method out there, and I always go back to what’s tried and true; shaving. But more importantly, I’ve done lots of research and spoken to my dermatologist about this myth as well, and I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s a pile of 💩 With a little help from Dr. Kristeen Cherney who wrote, Shaving Does Not Affect the Thickness or Rate of Hair Growth for Healthline, I’d like to break down some myths. MYTH #1: hair will grow differently when shaved and even be more coarse So this is actually half true and here’s why. As Dr. Cherney puts it, “Unshaven hair has a finer, blunter tip,” so when your hair grows back from shaving, you’ll end up seeing the coarser base as opposed to the “softer, thinner part that will eventually grow back,” if, of course, you let it! MYTH #2: hair grows back darker The new hair may be more thick, but it’s not because of shaving. Remember, this hair hasn’t yet been exposed to the elements or soaps or even chemicals that we use on the daily, which if you didn’t know, actually lightens the hair. MYTH #3 (the best for last): hair will grow back thicker when shaved, especially on the face Let’s break down how our hair grows so you can get a better understanding of why this statement is false. According to Dr. Cherney, “It takes about 1 month for body hair to reach its full length. This is why body hair is more shorter than the hair on our heads.” If you look at the image above, you can get a better understanding of the hair follicle, which is where our hair starts. One photo shows a blade ready to glide over top of the dead hair on the surface of the skin and the second photo shows what it looks like after. As you can see, all shaving did was, and for a lack of a better word, trim the hair! It didn’t actually get rid of the entire hair from the hair follicle. So to conclude with the words of Dr. Cherney, “Since shaving doesn’t remove hair under the skin like other hair removal methods do, it’s impossible for you to affect its colour, thickness or rate of growth.” There ya have it. So it’s safe to say, go ahead and shave! Don’t let a silly myth stop you. Just make sure you do it properly so that you don’t damage that beautiful skin 😌
