They are unique, timeless and universally admired. That being said, to this day, I have yet to meet a curly hair girl who calls her hair predictable or problem-free. Even with that irresistibly gorgeous, goddess-like look, curly hair girls deal with their fair share of problems. Frizz, breakage, limpness, split ends, and lack of shine are just some of those problems. To tackle these problems curly hair girls follow a very different hair care routine then those with straight hair. These routines can be exhaustive but when you see your healthy, shiny curls, it’s all worth it. 1. Know Your Hair TypeYour hair type practically defines your while curly hair routine as well as which product is right for you. That is why knowing the curly hair types and which type you fall into is the first step in properly taking care of them. By hair type, I don’t mean how much hair you have but the diameter or the width of a single strand of your hair. You can do a quick and easy test to find out your hair type at this very moment. Pluck out a strand of hair and hold it between your thumb and finger. If you can barely feel the strand there, then you have fine hair, if you can feel it there slightly then you have medium hair and if you feel a very prominent texture in between your finger and thumb then you have thick hair. 2. Know Your Curl PatternAnother thing very important for your curly hair routine is, knowing your curl pattern. Here, I mean the naturally curly hair pattern i.e. the wavy, curly or spirally. So the best place to start figuring out your curl pattern would be from the roots where the new, damage-free hairs are. Be warned! If you start a curly hair care routine without knowing your curl pattern, then you are exposing yourself to possible dryness, breakage, moisture theft and many more issue. Different curl patterns require different types and levels of care. For example, the more tightly coiled curly hair, like the 4C, needs more moisture than a slightly bent 2A. Your curl pattern is dependent on the width shape of your hair follicle. The flatter the follicle is, the tighter the curl will be. Any damage to your hair or genes can lead to you having more than one curly hair pattern. it is completely normal, and lots of people have it, so no need to panic. 3. Skip Daily ShampooNote this down: you don’t need to shampoo your curls daily. You’d be doing more harm than good when you shampoo your curls on a daily basis. The twisting and winding curls are fragile and prone to easy breakage. With frequent shampooing, you’d be drying out your already very thirsty curls. See the problem here? 4. Choose Your Shampoo WiselyThink of your hair type and curl pattern when choosing a shampoo. As a rule of thumb, all curly hair types are dry, some more than others, and need moisture. Harsh shampoos will strip your scalp of the natural oils and moisture and leave them drier than ever. This is why you need to carefully read the label of the shampoo you are thinking of purchasing to make sure they don’t contain any of the ingredients that are harmful to your curly hair type. Best shampoo for curly hair contains hydrating ingredients that boost the curls, making them pop. Try using a mild or low-lather shampoo. You can also try diluting your shampoo with a cleansing conditioner. 5. Pre-Wash TreatmentThe pre-shampoo treatment helps soften and detangle your hair. This makes shampooing your curly hair much easier, preventing damage during shampooing. Many curly-haired girls use leave-in conditioning, natural oils, and even pre-shampoos before a wash to massage their scalp. Not only is this extremely relaxing, but it also helps save a lot of time in the long run. You can use any best product for curly hair that suits your pre-wash needs. When you have your pre-wash nutrient absorbed in your scalp, you should try dangling your hair by dividing it into sections. Use your fingers for detangling and be gentle! 6. Shampoo Is For Your ScalpYou heard us! Take a dime-size amount of shampoo in your palm and work that in your scalp using only the pads of your fingertips, NOT your nails. Do not go in a swirling motion; you will only tangle your hair more this way. Instead, go in a more horizontal or vertical motion and work the product thoroughly. Don’t curtain-rub the length of your hair. Instead, gently squeeze down the shampoo form your scalp to your hair length. Remember, in shampooing, you are supposed to go from top to bottom. Washing your hair, section by section, will make the whole process a lot easier. Just like how you sectioned your hair to detangle, do the same for your hair while you are showering. Twist and clip the sections you are not washing. Lather, rinse and repeat each section thoroughly. 7. Conditioning Treatment for Your Curly Hair Routine This goes without saying; you need to incorporate deep conditioning in your hair care routine. Your curly hair type, natural pattern, and the issue you are facing the most in picking out the right conditioner. You need to make sure the ingredients suit you. If you experience dryness, then a moisturizing conditioner, with its glycerin and quality oil ingredients, should fix that. If you have weak or thin curls, a protein re-constructor conditioner offers special keratin and amino acids for the strength of your curly hair. If your hair has lost its shine, then conditioners with natural coloring herbs provide a glossy finish to your hair. You need only a dime-sized amount to work in the length of your hair. While conditioning, you should work your hair from top to bottom, in moving down motion and not rub your hair in a side-to-side motion. After you have applied the conditioner, use a wide-tooth comb to detangle your hair, starting from the bottom and moving up to the root. You will notice how evenly distributed your conditioner is in your hair. Place your hair in a shower cap. You can leave it for 10-20 minutes and rinse it out, especially if it’s a protein conditioner you are using, or you can also leave it in your hair overnight which will boost your curly hair’s natural hydration the fastest. 8. Minimize Brushing This tip may go against everything you’ve been taught since childhood, but brushing frequently will only make your hair prone to more frizz and static. Plus, you’ll end up breaking your hair more than what would’ve fallen out naturally. If you must detangle, the best time to do it if when it’s wet with the same bottom-up approach which you used while conditioning. For maximum damage-free brushing, make sure to choose a brush that works the best for you. Bristle brushes should stay far away from your curly hair. A wide-tooth comb should work the best for any of your snags and knots. Bonus Tips:1. Wrap your hair in a satin or silk scarf or bonnet as you go to bed. 2. Use conditioning or natural oil on wet hair to lock in the moisture. 3. The best time to style your curly hair is when it’s still wet. 4. Instead of towel-drying your hair, use an old t-shirt to avoid getting frizzy hair. 5. Get regular trims on dry curly hair to avoid getting split ends. We have said it before, and We will say it again, your naturally curly hair is gorgeous. All they need is a little love, support and lots of care. Think long and hard about the curly hair routine that you are currently following. Compare it with the routine mentioned here, and if you find any gaps, then add the tips mentioned here to notice your most prominent effect on hair problems.

HOW TO ROUND 2: EASIEST INTENSE WING LINER
Why hello there! I’m continuing on my how to tutorials. I really like this series breaking down all makeup trends and putting up how to tutorials for all makeup artist levels for makeup trends. Continuing on the wing liner, I used a liquid liner for my wing tutorial which is what I normally do. But liquid liners are not very beginner friendly. So this tutorial will teach you how to create an intense wing liner using a matte black eyeshadow. So check out the tutorial above to see how I achieve a wing liner using eyeshadow. Next tutorial will be the last of the wing liners. NEW FIND! And I’m pleasantly surprised!?
NEW FIND! And I’m pleasantly surprised!?
It was time to get a new moisturizer. I was currently using the HONEST - Hydrogel Cream paired with the PAULA'S CHOICE - Omega+ Complex Moisturizer , RADHA BEAUTY - Rosehip Oil , and timeless SKIN CARE - Squalane Oil 100% Pure because I have pretty dry skin. I love both of those moisturizers (although I’m not fond of all the Paula’s choice Omega+ complex moisturizer ingredients, but I loooooove the texture and feeling of it ) and love my oils (I won’t stop using the oils), but knew I needed a richer cream and also wanted to keep it down to just one cream, for time and my bank accounts sake. So if you’ve seen my last post, I was deciding between 3 brands but I couldn’t decide and was also nervous to try a new moisturizer, even though I knew I needed one, because I’m also acne prone so a new moisturizer to me was just terrifying lol. I was about to just get my usual HONEST - Hydrogel Cream because I knew it didn’t break me out and I like it a lot, although not quite as moisturizing as I need, it was on the safer side and I can’t imagine going a day without a moisturizer on this Sahara desert of a face!!! But then I discovered this brand I’ve never seen before? It’s called Awake Human. It’s not even a listing on Cherie for me to add the product! I read the ingredients and was intrigued (scroll through pics to see ingredients list), but because of my fear of new moisturizers, I was hesitant.. but I decided to bite the bullet because the ingredients looked amazing, was cheaper than Paula’s choice and the honest beauty’s moisturizer, but had the same amount of product. I received it a few days ago and I am in love!!!!! Soooooo rich and creamy and hydrating feeling, and it had the same smooth, rich, texture as the Paula’s Choice omega moisturizer, that I love so much!!! It comes in a nice little pump type of packaging, which I like. Keeps bacteria and gunk out. If you scroll through my pictures, you’ll see it. And a little bit goes a long way! The picture you see of the product on my fingers is the amount I use, but you can totally use less, especially if you have more oily or normal skin. I just like a lot of moisturizer! Lol I’ve noticed my face is much less dry feeling and looks smoother with less texture. I will keep you updated, but I think this is my new fave!!!! I’m so excited lol. Here the link the purchase: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07NWXJYVK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_YHI-Fb9BRJKT0?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 If you’re hesitant but intrigued like I was, I strongly encourage you to just try it. And if it happens that doesn’t work for your face, because remember, everyone is different and skincare is not a one size fits all, then it would most definitely be a really really nice hand cream, that would fit nicely in your bag. Have you heard of this brand before? And if so, have you used anything from them?
