Fix your crusty old nail polish 💀💅🏼
We have all been there—your old nail polish is crusty or goopy, OR you have a nail polish whose formula hardens very easily. But you still have like half the bottle left—what do you do? You use a nail polish thinner of course! SPECIFICALLY, an acetone-free nail polish thinner. When my nail polishes are feeling goopy or hardened, I always reach for a nail polish thinner: #Beauty Secrets - Nail Polish Thinner[products]#[FiveStars] this one by Beauty Secrets is acetone free, and you get 4 ounces for only $4. It’s so inexpensive for what you’ll need to put in the bottle! Here’s how I thin out my nail polish without ruining it: 1. Grab a bottle of crusty nail polish. Today I’m demo-ing my old bottle of HOLO TACO - Blue Flakie a top coat from Holo Taco. It’s not incredibly old, but their top coat are super thicccc so they harden up very quickly. A tell for this brand that you need to thin it out is if lines or cracks are forming on the sides of the bottle from the polish drying out. 2. Grab a nail polish thinner. I really only use the Beauty Secrets Thinner #Beauty Secrets - Nail Polish Thinner[products]#[FiveStars] which is available in stores and online from Sally Beauty for $4. 3. Dispense 3 drops into your nail polish bottle. YEP, only 3 drops. If you put too much in at one moment, it will ruin the nail polish, so start slowly! 4. First, use the brush to mix up the nail polish, the shake it up. Once it is thin enough, then shake up the bottle to more evenly distribute it. 5. VOILA! Your nail polish is ready to go! If you find that your nail polish is still too thick at this point, you can repeat steps 3-4 until it reaches your desired consistency. This product seriously saved so many of my nail polishes! #CheriePartner

Basic DIY Wedding Nails! ✨
I just got married this past week so I thought I would show you guys how I did my nails myself at home. This was surprisingly simple and easy! I chose to go with a basic neutral rose color and my natural nails, which were shaped oval. I don’t have any “nail tech” equipment at home and TBH I am not leaving my house to get a manicure right now LOL, so this was my only option. My nails are natural and pretty brittle, so I have to choose the products I use carefully to protect the health of my nails. I started off with my favorite base coat: the long lasting base from Holo Taco HOLO TACO - Long-Lasting Base this brand has just been so GOOD for my nails. I knew this one would keep my polish on all day so I didn’t have to worry about chipping or lifting. It takes about 10-15 minutes to dry but I don’t mind at all! It’s worth every penny to me at $11. Then I painted 2 coats of Cirque Colors “Rose Kaolin” creme polish cirque colors - cirque colors Cream Polishes . I love Cirque since they are made in the USA and made small-batch, 10-free! The coats dry relatively quickly, about 15-20 mins between coats. At $12 I recommend their polishes! Then I had a crazy thought—I NEED stones on my accent nails. But where do I find them? In my room of course. I found an old piece of cheap jewelry with clear white stones in it so I took a safety pin to it and removed a few stones to glue onto my nails. I used super glue and tweezers to place them and made sure to wait until the coat of creme polish was 10000% dry beforehand. I think they turned out pretty great for DIY! For my top coat I went with my HOLY GRAIL HOLO TACO - Super Glossy Taco which is only 3-free, but it dries in 5-10 minutes and does not budge. At ALL! No scratches, indents, nothing. I knew I could count on this on top of the stones to seal everything in. SGT is $11 and worth every penny if you have brittle nails like me! What do you think of my DIY wedding nails?! 😂 #CheriePartner

DIY No-Cleanup nails at home ✨
During COVID times and also penny-pinching times, I think even though we all need a little self care, we can’t really be breaking the bank (or risking our health) to go to a nail salon. Learn how to get my no-cleanup manicure at home: 1. Remove any residual nail polish on your nails. I like to use an acetone-free nail polish remover so it doesn’t dry out my nails too much. 2. File your nails to your desired shape, then wash your hands. You want to make sure before you start painting your nails that they’re in the shape you want! Washing your hands after removes any leftover dust and removes bacteria that might have been trapped under your nail polish. 3. Apply a base coat. This is like a makeup primer for your nails. It also helps tame any oils your nails produce to help make your nail polish last longer. I’m using one of my favorites, the OPI Natural Nails. OPI - Natural Nail Base Coat it dries in minutes so you won’t be waiting around for it to dry. 4. Apply a latex skin protectant. This is the star of the show! I would normally use prosthetic liquid latex you can get at FX or Halloween stores, but since I can’t go anywhere this year I decided to try the version from Holo Taco that comes with an application brush HOLO TACO - Protective Peel I really liked the application of this, and it was super easy to remove. I do this it’s overpriced but the convenient tube with the brush is worth it for travel instead of lugging around a 12 ounce bottle of Spirit brand liquid latex LOL. The point of this is that if you spill over or color outside the lines of your nails, you can just peel this layer off when your nails are completely dry and your skin will be clean of nail polish. 5. Apply your nail polish in 1-2 coats. In this photo I’m wearing 2 coats of Protozoa by Lights Lacquer. I got an ad for this brand (I’m not really a fan of KathleenLights) and decided why not! LIGHTS LACQUER - Protozoa I will say that while I like that the nail polish isn’t super expensive, and the dry down time is fairly quick (10-15 minutes), my nails chipped less than 24 hours after painting them. That doesn’t happen with other nail polish brands I use so I’m rating this particular polish 3/5 stars. 6. Apply your top coat. This is pretty simple. I’m using my favorite top coat at the moment which is Super Glossy Taco by Holo Taco. HOLO TACO - Super Glossy Taco my only complaint is that near the end of the bottle it gets kind of goopy (since it is only 3-free) so I am having to use a nail polish thinner to use up the rest of the bottle. However it still dries down very quick, thick and shiny! 7. With tweezers, or your fingers, remove/peel the latex off. It’s super simple and voila. Mess-free nails! #CheriePartner

Ice Queen Nail Tutorial ❄️
Hey guys!! Is anyone else just...completely OVER summer??? No? Just me? Ok 😂 I have been so excited for winter that I decided to do some ice queen inspired nails to bring out the true queen in my heart ❄️💙 Here are my thoughts on each polish and how I did them!: BASE COAT: I used my trust Holo Taco long lasting base. This actually works a lot better for my fingernails than the OPI natural nails base coat, only thing is that it takes longer to dry...but it’s WORTH IT! HOLO TACO - Long-Lasting Base COLOR BASE: To get that true Ice Queen look, I used Frost Light from Holo Taco. It’s not as full coverage as some of their other glitter polishes but it dries REALLY FAST. So I love it! I applied 2 coats of this in under 30 minutes. HOLO TACO - Frost Light EXTRA COAT: I wasn’t feeling icy enough so I added a silver and rainbow glitter top coat before my final top coat. This is the second polish I have tried from Cirque Colors; it is called Delirium and it is a silver and rainbow glitter top coat. Definitely made me feel more icy, but it took a long time to dry down. cirque colors - cirque colors Holographic Polishes FINAL TOP COAT: I used my trusty Super Glossy Taco from Holo Taco. This has to be one of the best top coats I’ve ever used. It only takes about 20-30 minutes to completely dry down. I did end up having to do 2 coats of this since all of the glitter was...CHUNKY. HOLO TACO - Super Glossy Taco What do you think? Are you ready for fall or winter? #CheriePartner
