1st Time DIY Dip Nails!
Over the past couple of years, I really enjoyed getting dip nails done at my local nail salon. I felt that the dip powder lasted a little bit longer than the gel polish and I liked that you could add a little bit on length on to your natural nail.
Now that we’re in the middle of a pandemic and it’s not easy to get to nail salon, I decided to try an at home dip nail kit. I purchased the revel nail starter kit (www.revelnail.com), they have a few different color options that come with the starter kit, I chose “A Neon State of Mind” which came with four neon shades. They send you a super detailed instruction sheet which was easy to follow.
The quick summary is: prep nails, apply base coat, dip nails in powder, shape/buff (I chose an oval shape), and then finish with an activator coat as well as a gel coat. From start to finish it took me about 45 minutes to do my own nails.
I feel like for my first time, my nails didn’t turn out half bad! With a few more tries I’ll really have it down. The thing that I loved most about this at home dip nail kit is that it lasted almost as long as the dip I get at the salon! Other things I really enjoyed were the easy instructions as well as the color options available. Definitely don’t be scared to try this at home!
