Nighttime routine for combo skin
up&up - All In One Micellar Cleansing Water this is a good dupe for the garnier micellar water and it removes even waterproof mascara without ripping out your lashes 👍 CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin this is the best face wash that I have tried because it leaves my skin super smooth and clean The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA this is a really good serum for textured skin. It makes my skin super glowy and helps with texture The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA this is a good moisturizer and it’s good for combo or dry skin because it’s really thick and moisturizing #CeraVe - Facial Moisturizing Lotion PM[products]#[FiveStars] this is my favorite moisturizer ever! It has niacinamide and 3 ceramides in it. Also it’s really lightweight and it’s oil free #Up and Up - 10% benzoyl peroxide gel[products]#[FourStars] this is a dupe for the clean & clear persa gel. It works pretty well but it takes a while for it to work. Also it’s only $3.59 at target The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution this is the best face mask if you have acne prone skin. It makes my skin so smooth and feel so clean
Overnight Before & After!
Yesterday I woke up with some pesky, painful period pimples. I decided I want to develop a more thorough skin care routine - so I went ahead! That afternoon CLEASNER: I cleaned off my face with up&up - All In One Micellar Cleansing Water which is $2 less than Garnier and works well. MASK: I decided to apply The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution which burnt a little at first, but honestly seems to work wonders!! I bought this that day and was very excited for it. MOISTURIZER: I then moisturize and went on with my day. At night CLEANSER: Used the micellar water as a cleanser again. MASK: I applied PETER THOMAS ROTH - Cucumber Gel Masque to parts of my face that felt tight and it soothed a lot! It was cooling and helped with any irritation I had. I only give it 4 stars because I think it could do a bit more for the price. TREATMENT: I applied my prescribed Epiduo. MOISTURIZER: And later followed up with POND'S - Facial Moisturizers Dry Skin Cream that I love so much! It's so cheap and feels so soothing. In the morning I cleaned my face and moisturized and I'm wowed by the results just 24 hours later!! I'm so impressed by The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution Thanks for reading with me!

$3.59 Maskne Management
So like everyone else in the world, except a few rebels without a cause, I’ve been wearing a mask nonstop for the past handful of months. It’s created serious #maskne and been a huge bummer. A little bit of backstory: had amazing skin in my teenage years, then in my mid-twenties I started getting cystic acne. I did Curology and a round of doxycycline (aka the big guns of antibiotics) and finally got it under control. All was fine and dandy until this pandemic happened! Being a registered nurse and working during the pandemic has had its own set of challenges but the most apparent one is the physical toll it’s had on my skin. I cant say enough good things about this up&up - Max. Strength Acne Medication It has helped keep serious breakouts at bay and helped tame current breakouts. The way I use it is during the day after cleansing and using my niacinamide, I’ll take a dime size amount of this product and lather is specifically on my chin and jawline where I breakout. I will massage it in until there is no white cast. I will wait a moment for it to dry and then put my CeraVe moisturizer on. Very important to drink lots of water and moisturize when using this because it can dry your skin out! Hope this helps anyone suffering from maskne!
Updated Nighttime Skin Care
The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution This product has really been a game changer for my skin. I use it once a week to help the dryness and dullness of my skin. It does tingle a bit on my skin, although I leave it on for 5 minutes instead of the recommendation 10 minutes. The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG I’ve never been one to use eye creams because I feel like they are just a glorified moisturizer, doing the same thing a moisturizer would do to the rest of the face. This product has completely change my opinion. It banishes my dark circles and de puffs my eyes. I use this product twice a day. The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 I’ve always been afraid of any type of acid on my face because my skin can get very dry. Hyaluronic acid was recommended to hydrate my skin and I’m very glad I used this product. It has changed the dryness of my skin. fresh - Lotus Anti-Aging Night Moisturizer This is the first nighttime moisturizer I’ve used that doesn’t make my face greasy, which is why I will continue to use this product and purchase it over and over again. up&up - Max. Strength Acne Medication I don’t get acne very often on my face so I don’t want to spend a lot on an acne spot treatment. This one is ok, it sometimes takes a couple days to a week to use and if it’s overused in one area it can dry the skin. However for the amount of times I use it this product gets the job done at a price I can afford. In short, I love the brand Fresh and will always use their products. I have fallen in love with The Ordinary and will continue to use their products. I have finally found a combination that works for my dry/combination skin and will use it for as long as it works on my skin.
Face wash & acne treatment
Neutrogena - Liquid , Facial Cleansing Formula this is a bit drying and had an off smell but it did help clear up acne - by that I mean it dried the acne up pretty good at removing excess makeup residue especially using the silicon scrub brush (don’t scrub too hard! Gentle circular motions is good enough) up&up - Acne Spot Treatment benzoyl peroxide is the only treatment my face can tolerate - can’t do salicylic acid for some reason I always get a bad reaction to it. it’s a spot treatment so just apply to problematic acne and after a few uses I noticed they went away this brand is about as good as any when it comes to a product like this - essentially the formula is the same strength as name brand
BENZOYL PEROXIDE 101: TIPS & HOW TO
Benzoyl Peroxide is one of my favorite topical acne treatments you can buy at any drugstore! In 2013 I had horrible acne and it only took a month to clear it up. Here’s how I personally used BP and tips to know before starting! Tips: -Make sure other products in your routine aren’t comedogenic, and stop using the ones that are! Use cosdna.com for this. -Plan for your routine to be as minimal as possible. Cleanser, moisturizer, and SPF is all you’ll need for now. -Buy a 2.5% BP as research shows this works just as well as 5% and up, with less irritation. Drugstore brands with BP: Neutrogena, Up&Up, Clearasil, and La Roche Posay. Paula’s Choice (online) is great too, and great quality for more product. How to use: -Cleanse skin. Always double cleanse in the pm, especially if you have acne. -Gently apply a light layer of BP to ALL areas you tend to break out in. Do not use just as a spot treatment if you want the best results. -Wait 5-10 min to let it completely dry. BP can bleach clothes and pillows, so always wait until it’s dry. -Moisturize. Again, gently! The less you rub your skin, the less irritation. Let skin absorb it. Apply 1-2 layers. Hydration and moisturizing is key to prevent the dryness that BP will bring later on. Trust me on this. +++Ingredients to look for in your moisturizer: glycerin, squalane, niacinamide, sodium hyaluronate, jojoba oil, ceramides (for barrier repair/replenishing); rosehip oil, vitamin c, licorice root extract (for brightening dark spots) -Use broad spectrum SPF of at least 30 (in the am). Preferably with antioxidants and barrier repairing ingredients as above! Do this am & pm for at least a month. If you have sensitive skin, use once daily for a week to see if irritation occurs, then increase to twice daily. If you’re consistent with this you may notice your skin to get more dry. This is normal with BP, so be generous with moisturizer. Disclaimer: this is my personal experience and I am not a licensed professional. Always do your due diligence for your own skin. Good luck! ☺️
My PM routine + makeup removal & exfoliant
If I’ve worn makeup, I use the Pond’s cold cream and remove it with a hot towel. I 1. I remove any makeup with POND'S - Cold Cream Cleanser and remove it with a hot towel. 2. I apply Safflower Oil to my patted dry face to oil cleanse thoroughly. 3. I finish my double cleanse with up&up - Deep Cleaning Acne Treatment . I lather up one pump and work it all over my face, hairline, jawline and neck. 4. I apply HERITAGE STORE - Rosewater Facial Toner to a dry cotton square and sweep all over. 5. I use up&up - Pore Cleansing Strips to exfoliate my pores. If anything, I tend to not exfoliate enough. I pretty much use these when it’s been a while and I remember. 6. I tone the nose again with HERITAGE STORE - Rosewater Facial Toner 7. I apply a small amount of DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Cream 8. I pat 3 drops of tarte - Maracuja Oil into my palms, rub together, and pat into my skin. Tada!✨

Here’s what I’m working with atm to achieve skin mostly free of breakouts. I’m not treating any particular concern with these products and I find they work well for my skin type. I hope to build from here as I learn more about skincare. -up&up - Deep Cleaning Acne Treatment or equate - Deep Cleaning Facial Cleanser -HERITAGE STORE - Rosewater Facial Toner -Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer or Neutrogena - Bright Boost Moisturizer with Sunscreen SPF 30 -RAW SUGAR - Organic Lip Balm Raw Coconut + Mango I chose the acne wash because I was breaking out and as it turns out, the salicylic acid works well with my skin type. The deep cleaning facial cleanser from Equate Beauty has the same active ingredient—they’re basically the same product imo 🤫 I keep one in the shower. I’ve learned that supporting your skincare routine with gentle, hydrating cleansers and toners (and moisturizers) will help spotlight the actives you end up incorporating. I switch between the moisturizers depending on whether I want spf that day or not. I’m starting out with the things I already had at home. I was gifted the lip balm and I like the way it smells.
I have a distressed nail: now what?!
So your nail is cracked or the top layer is peeling and you need to save it before it breaks... I GOT YOU 👏🏻 Here are some tips to save your nail: Use an acetone-free nail polish remover to remove any leftover polish from your nail and any excess oils. I use this one: up&up - Strengthening Nail Polish Remover Wash your hands: do this in general, but especially after using the acetone free nail polish remover. This ensures that you won’t be trapping any bacteria under any nail treatments we’ll be using! Use a nail strengthening treatment. I use this base coat which has helped me grow my nails SO LONG (by my standards) as someone who used to have a habit of biting their nails: ORLY - Orly Base Coat & Top Coat my only beef with this product is that it usually pees off within a few days if you don’t seal it with a top coat or other nail polish on top. Use a THICK top coat on top of the treatment, or continue painting your nails as usual. This will create a barrier/shield between you and the distressed nail area and will leave it less vulnerable. You can repeat this as necessary, weekly until the distressed nail area is far enough grown out that you feel comfortable filing it down or cutting it off. Some of my nails are super brittle so I have to use strengthening treatments on them in order for them to remain healthy and long as they grow! What are your favorite nail treatments? #CheriePartner
- Makeup Remover
My current skincare routine consists of CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser, then up&up - Deep Cleaning Pore Treatment at night, then Bio-Oil - Multiuse Skincare Oil, and finishing it off at CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin. I want to add The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%into my routine but I'm not sure where it fits in or how to apply the product. I am new to serums like that. Any recommendations? All and any input is wanted!! Thank you.
