eco-friendly makeup products 🌍
Being environmentally sustainable has its perks and this alleyoop - Stack the odds multi-use face palette is one example of conservation that also shows innovation 😜 This multi-use face palette features 3 palettes: cream blush, bronzer and highlighter. The major game changer here was packaging 👉🏻 being able to conserve 3 plastic packages for 3 separate products into one! How does the product work though? I love the pigments of each palette. (pictured above is the cream blush in Sunkissed) compared to other “cream blushes,” this product was ready made for those on the go who need something quick and fresh before arriving fashionably late. I love the blendability of each palette and how even the cream blush can be used on your lips and the bronzer on your eyes. Would I recommend this product? I definitely would! It’s such an easy compact to store into your bag whenever you’re running late and need to freshen up. PLUS, it’s only ONE compact, not 3 separate ones. A key statement of alleyoop is “efficiency” and this product definitely demonstrates that. It’s environmentally and economically efficient by providing people with an easy compact to take without sacrificing plastic waste 😏🙌🏼

Makeup for oily, acne-prone skin
Like a lot of people, my skin type is oily and acne-prone. This can make makeup difficult: in the past, I’ve used makeup that clogged my pores and made my acne worse, or makeup that reacted with the oil on my face and made my makeup look cakey. I also really like a dewy, glowy makeup look, which can be difficult when a lot of makeup for oily skin tries to suck the oil up to make skin look matte. Over time, I’ve been able to nail down a makeup look that works great for my skin type. First, make sure to use a good primer to keep makeup in place. I like FIRST AID BEAUTY - Hello FAB Pores Be Gone Matte Primer , which works great and doesn’t pill under makeup. Next, use a base product. As strange as it seems, I love the Kosas - Tinted Face Oil Foundation for my oily skin—it actually has kaolin clay in it to keep it from looking oily, so the finish I end up with is semi-matte. It’s perfect! I apply it with my fingers and it blends easily. Use a concealer if needed to cover and blemishes and/or undereyes. I love the Kosas - Revealer Super Creamy + Brightening Concealer because it has ingredients like arnica and peptides to visibly improve skin—it’s makeup and skincare rolled into one, and my oily/acne-prone skin loves it! Use a blush with beneficial ingredients for skin. I love the alleyoop - Stack the odds multi-use face palette because the cream products have jojoba and sunflower oils. Since I just apply the blush on the apples of my cheeks, it gives me a glow right where I want it, without making me look oily all over. I also use a cream highlight on my cheekbones: the one in the alleyoop palette is great, as is the BECCA - Skin Love Glow Glaze Stick . They both have skin nourishing ingredients that help keep my skin from being too dried out by acne products—because makeup doesn’t look good clinging to dry patches. Make sure to use a good powder to set foundation in your T-zone. I love the Milk MAKEUP - Blur + Set Matte Loose Setting Powder because it never looks cakey, even when I reapply—I took a star off for the packaging though, which can be inconvenient. A few more tips: I avoid cream products with coconut oil because they make me break out, and I wash my makeup brushes at least once a week because dirty brushes can spread bacteria and make acne worse. If anyone else has tips for this skin type, please let me know in the comments! #CheriePartner

5 New Year’s Resolutions I’m making this year
Let’s elevate our beauty routines in the new year! My focus for 2021 is stress a little less, focus on what makes me happy, and indulge (whatever meaning that takes on, we’ll see!). And, I'm getting starting with these beauty resolutions... 1. Make double cleansing more of a priority.
In 2020, I made a strong effort to ditch wipes. FOR GOOD! I fell in love with the Living Cleansing Balm from Then I Met You and it made double cleansing something I looked forward to. Excited to keep up the effort (it’s really balanced my oily skin) and find new products I love to cleanse with.  Anyone have a cleansing balm they absolutely love? 2. Get in the habit of overnight lip care
I’m a lip biter. When I’m stressed, I can’t help but put my emotions into biting my lips. I hate the habit and my poor lips suffer. And while lips heal fast, I’ve been looking for products that give them major nourishment and protection against my wicked biting. Milk Makeup’s Melatonin Overnight Lip Mask has brought them back to life, making this more of a ritual as it relates to my nighttime skincare routine I think I can do! 3. Have more fun with makeup
2020 had me going barefaced often. And while my skin could really renew and show its naturally dewy self...I missed playing around! I’m determined to have fun with my funky colored Skywash’s from Glossier and bright eye liners from Freck. Who knows, maybe I'll even break out the rhinestones. I’m ready to get a little wild.  4. Nourish the brows!
I’ve been growing them out and while they look FAB, they need some TLC! I rarely fill them in when it comes to my makeup routine and I get them waxed/trimmed only about twice a year. I just got this new eyebrow soap from Lilac Beauty and they have been soaking up all the goodness from castor oil, cocoa butter, beeswax, and coconut oil. Highly recommend this, and taking suggestions for more brow care products!  5. Meditate more, stress less, and take baths
Beauty meditation is totally a thing. And doing my skincare routine, painting my nails, or even taking a bath just makes me feel like time stops a little. There’s times where I feel it’s my chance to breathe and reflect. Being intentional with my routines like adding in more gua sha tool usage or time with my Nuface is something i’m striving for. But also, I’ve found setting intentions and using bath salts have helped me calm down from a stressful day. If you’re looking to add this into your beauty routine, check out bath salts from HELLEN, they’re life changing. What are your beauty resolutions for 2021? Comment below!

Eco friendly makeup brand: Alleyoop!
Alleyoop is a newer brand to me—they had been on my radar for a little while, and I finally got to try some of their products when they invited me to their content creator program. The whole idea behind Alleyoop is to simplify your routine with staple, multi-use products that are quick and easy to apply and blend. Their philosophy is to streamline your routine, eliminating products that you don’t need or don’t use, which is a very eco friendly idea when most makeup brands pump out product after product, not seeing to give much thought to how wasteful it can be. One of the products they sent me was the alleyoop - Stack the odds multi-use face palette , which comes with a contour, blush, and highlight. The shades are SUPER creamy and easy to blend, and there are three color options available for this palette (the one seen here is Sassy Pants, the lightest option. The other shades look great on deeper skin tones!) I really, really love this palette. These are three staple makeup products that I use every day, all rolled into one. The design of the palette is very innovative and cute, and I love that it removes the need to buy three separate products. I know there are other face palettes with these products rolled into one, but this one is so streamlined and simple, and seriously—the formula is so beautifully creamy and blendable. They have jojoba and sunflower oils to give skin a subtle glow, which I love. I apply these with either my fingers or a brush; either way works fine. I find myself reaching for this palette most mornings. The alleyoop - 11th Hour Eyeshadow Sticks is a very cool idea for a product. Alleyoop reports that 82% of women use only 1-3 shades out of the eyeshadow palettes they own—that’s a TON of waste, of both money and product. Their solution is these cream eyeshadow sticks, which come in five universally flattering shades. These take about ten seconds for me to swipe on my lids and pat all over, resulting in a shimmery wash of color. Alleyoop claims they’re smudge and crease proof for 11 hours, which I’ve shockingly found to be true. Plus, the other end is a sharpener in case you want to use it as an eyeliner! I really love what Alleyoop is doing. Their mission is to make beauty simpler, easier, and less wasteful. They offer a pretty select range of products, which makes me trust that they actually care about their mission of helping the environment. Plus, their orders come packed in dissolvable packing peanuts! Not only are these fun to dissolve in the sink, it gives me further trust in the company. In addition, I like that their prices are accessible: Stack the Odds is $34, which isn’t bad for three products, and 11th Hour is $20. I’d much rather pay $20 for a shadow I know I’ll use than $60+ for a palette with a bunch of shades that will go to waste. All in all, I highly recommend checking out Alleyoop for great products at great prices! #CheriePartner

Skincare Routine, Help?
These are the products I switch back and forth with! Renewing SA Cleanser - definitely one of my favorites! leaves my face feeling nice and clean but also soft. definitely helps my acne Foaming Facial Cleanser - I switched from this to the SA Cleanser just because it was a little too foamy for my sensitive skin! I usually followed up with a serum or moisturizer after if I felt dry. Renewing Retinol Serum - A top pick!! leaves my face feeling like it’s moisturized without being caked or sticky and definitely helps lift my acne scars (which are continuous since I can’t keep my hands off) The Ordinary AHA BHA masque - I doubt I have to explain! worth the money because of how well it works, if I pick a lot I do have to wait to use it till my face is agreeing with me, otherwise it burns a bit instead of tingling which shouldn’t be experienced when using. Alleyoop Spot Me - A good all in one spot treatment! good for whiteheads and underground bumps, as well as the ordinary stings on scabs or freshly picked wounds, as most would expect. Ambi Fade Cream - I was definitely cautious of this brand as it was at the Dollar General, but honestly i’m quite pleased. It does have a skin bleaching ingredient but that is to help fade the scars and also gives an even skin tone pretty fast. it has a moisturizer/sunscreen with it! I use the oily skin one. Equate Hydrocortisone - yes yes I know, eeek. I did research and dabbing some of this on can act as a very gentle home cortisone shot, it definitely relieves the agitation on my face after picking and helps a bit with scarring. Let me know any helpful tips or thoughts please lovelies! <3

Natural Deodorant for Quarantine
Natural Deodorant for Quarantine
Now is THE time to switch to natural deodorant. I’ve been loving Alleyoop’s deodorant – it actually keeps me dry throughout the day and throughout normal activities, though I’m not sure how it would hold up through an intense workout or hot weather just yet. It’s definitely gritty while applying so maybe not best for sensitive armpits or those with a baking soda allergy. Native is a great drugstore buy, but it doesn’t keep smell at bay for me. The scent is amazing, however. Kopari has a very wet feel upon application, which I don’t love. However, it does feel really soothing on your underarms. This didn’t work all that great for keeping smell/wetness at bay. What natural deodorant do you recommend? alleyoop - Slow Your Roll All-natural hair inhibiting deodorant NATIVE - Coconut & Vanilla KOPARI - Coconut Deo

CONSIDER THIS BEFORE GLOSSIER CLOUD PAINT!
CONSIDER THIS BEFORE GLOSSIER CLOUD PAINT!
ugh, glossier’s cloud paint has been on my wishlist forever. i’ve never gone around to purchasing it bc i just couldn’t bring myself to spend that much on a cream blush when i was happy with my benefit cheek stain 😅 glossier’s cloud paint costs $18 (2 for $30) while this whole multi use face palette costs only $32 (this includes 3 “products”) when i discovered the multi-use face palette, i was a bit skeptical at first. usually, production costs can be high when packaging is complex such as a stacked & twist feature. knowing this, i was scared the product formula had suffered. I WAS WRONG 🥵🥵 i LOVED how pigmented this blush was without using much product (saving you $$$). this palette is in the shade “sunkissed” and it features a cream blush that’s natural & soft when blended, a cream bronze contour, & a cream highlighter to give you a dewy look! def consider looking into this before you purchase glossier’s cloud paint 🤫
