New Skincare Journey- Tips welcomes
Hi everyone, I am so excited to start this new journey. The pictures I uploaded is a depiction of my current skin. Following doing the The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution, patting dry and then applying the CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skinand Bio-Oil - Multiuse Skincare Oil. I suffer for hormonal acne (not that bad) and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. I have had these issues since middle school, with periods of clear skin. I have done some research and this is what I am going to start are my skincare routine starting tomorrow. Am Routine I am going to start my routine off with the essano - Rosehip Gentle Facial Cleansing Micellar Water. Then I will use the Aveeno - MaxGlow Infusion Drops, followed by the Clean&Clear - Advantage Acne Spot Treatment. Then the CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skinand my favorite Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Sunscreen SPF 50 . This the only daily sunscreen that I have used and I love how soft and bright ir leaves my skin. I was having trouble finding a face oil, but the Bio-Oil - Multiuse Skincare Oilreceived a lot of good reviews from people with similar experiences so I thought it would be a good product to try. Pm Routine I am going to start my routine off with the essano - Rosehip Gentle Facial Cleansing Micellar Water again. Then I will use the The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5, followed by the Clean&Clear - Advantage Acne Spot Treatment. Then the CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skinand Bio-Oil - Multiuse Skincare Oil. On Sundays (my first day) At night, I will continue to wash my face with warm water, beforing patting dry and applying The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution. This is my third time using this product, I only use it once a week. The last two times I apply a niamincide-based moisturizer afterward and I think it caused my skin to break out. I do see my blemishes lightening with this product, so I will continue to use it for 10 minutes once a week. After I rinse and pat dry, I will apply the CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin. After my first use, I do feel my skin to feel more elastic and moisturized, but the smell is a bit unappealing. Following with the Bio-Oil - Multiuse Skincare Oil, I currently have no comments on this product. I am open to any assistance or concerns. I look forward to journaling this journey ❤️

HELP! I need a new skincare routine!
(Excuse my eyebrows I need to get them threaded) LOL So I’ve always struggled with acne, and I’m 18 and it’s still going on. I started birth control to help with my periods and acne about a little over 2 years ago now, and it has dramatically decreased my acne and helped so much with my flow and cramps. I just want to feel more confident because I rarely wear any makeup (foundation) on my face, and when I do I just want it to look smooth and not bumpy. I would really appreciate if anyone could recommend any products they use or have used. My skin is mainly oily, but it can be combination sometimes and sensitive when it wants to. Also, I don’t want to spend a lot of money on products. And what are y’all’s opinions/reviews on The Ordinary? Please help me! 🙏🏼 My morning routine consists of: -Clean&Clear - Morning Burst Oil-Free Gentle Daily Face Wash -DICKINSON'S - Original Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner -FORMULA 10.0.6 - Seriously Shine Free Mattifying Oil Free Moisturizer My nighttime routine consists of: -GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Mattifying -CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin -Clean&Clear - Share NIGHT RELAXIN Deep Cleaning Face Wash -DICKINSON'S - Original Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner -Beauty 360° - Vitamin E Moisturizing Oil -GARNIER - SkinActive Soothing Facial Mist with Rose Water -FORMULA 10.0.6 - Seriously Shine Free Mattifying Oil Free Moisturizer (I do use masks sometimes just like everybody else after I double cleanse at nighttime).

Favorite parts of my day!
Clean&Clear - Morning Burst Oil-Free Gentle Daily Face Wash You know those people that love getting up in the morning and have all this energy? I’m not one of those people. I’m no where near being a morning person. When I finally convince myself to get out of bed I go straight to wash my face. I like to use cold water when washing my face with this product in the morning because combining that with this face scrub is the easiest way for me to completely wake up. Lots of face washes have irritated my sensitive skin but this one hasn’t and it makes me glad that I’m not trying to find which one works for me anymore because this one does. Use a moisturizer after product use. Clean&Clear - Share NIGHT RELAXIN Deep Cleaning Face Wash I have really bad insomnia and it can be really hard for me to fall asleep , even if I take some melatonin my body just won’t relax. But when I use this nighttime face wash before I go to bed or when I take a shower at night it gets me sleepy instantly. Going to bed with my face feeling soft and nice it the best way to fall asleep. Only thing though is I recommend using a moisturizer after using product. FOREO - LUNA fofo I used to just use my hands to rub in my face washes. Rub in circles rub in circles, but it didn’t do much for me when I was really wanting to exfoliate my skin. When I got this product I was a little scriptural at first thinking how does it know what routine my skin will need? I downloaded the app on my phone and tried it the night I got it. I had a hard time setting it up so I watched a few YouTube videos but once I knew what to do I started right away. This device is Bluetooth and connects to your app when you’re using it. The little skin censors on the back help the device understand what kind of hydration your skin has , and what kind of care it’s in. It scans your cheeks , nose , and forehead. After the scanning is done it programs the amount of time you use the product on that part of your face, and the intensity of the vibration will change depending on different parts of your face and what your skin needs. This product has helped my skin so much especially when I need my face to be exfoliated at the end of a long day. It scrubs away all the makeup and dirt I may have missed with just using a makeup wipe. Overall just love this product and it’s so cute and small it’s super easy to bring on trips because it just fits right into a bag with my face washes. You can use any face wash you want for this product which is what I like about it too. Highly recommend trying this one out

I’m tired of acne
Hi everyone! So, this is the first post I’m making, and of course I’m extremely nervous showing images of my skin. I’ve struggled with acne for 4.5 ish years and there were times where it got so good! Then it came back and I broke out.. But first I want to tell a story, so a month or so ago my mom went to walmart and picked me up clean and clear (I know!) I knew it was a sucky brand but I used it anyway because I figured that that salicylic acid has to have some effect, and it did, but not the right one... My skin started to purge so bad! I know that skin purging is necessary to getting clear skin so it was whatever, but my skin didn’t end up clearing at all, I was getting daily pimples even after the purging breakout. I ditched the product thank god, but I’m still suffering. My current routine is what was tagged in the first above photo I attached of my acne, but I am working on getting better things. I’m planning on ditching my toner and possibly my hyaluronic acid, but mostly my clean&clear moisturizer. I’m also currently using 5% benzoyl peroxide and 1% clindamicyn, doctor prescribed, that I’ve been using for years (new tub though.) If anyone has any recommendations for moisturizer and spf that would be amazing or any products that worked for you. Or even any suggestions for ways to get rid of my acne faster, anything would be so appreciated! Thank you if you’ve read this far. My apologies if there are any run on sentences or misplaced commas or semicolon, I’m only 14 haha. :)

My name is Uma. I always get terrible acne no matter the circumstances or previous improvement, but this past Tuesday, I began my own regimen, all Walgreens products. The zoomed out selfie was before my skincare routine. The acne pictures were after a few hours of waiting on improvement. I’m an incoming community college freshman student, and I want a fresh start in most areas, including my skin. I am almost nineteen and I’ve suffered from acne since I was barely even ten, and I finally found a routine that could work on my way out of my acne mess. I recommend all these products, no sponsorships. Step by step if your skin is similar to mine. All in my Walgreens 1. I use the Clean and Clear step 1 foaming facial cleanser. I rub it around my face and rinse 2. St Ives-Acne control oil free salicylic acid acne medication apricot scrub- I rub and rinse this cleanser 3-4 times a week, as directions tell me to do so. It works and leaves your skin smooth and lets the dirt go 3. Toner-Clean and clear essentials deep cleansing toner. I spread it around my skin until no obvious traces are on my skin. I use a cotton pad. This is my favorite product because it works really well on my skin and it’s anti inflammatory and in a matter of hours, my skin is not as red. 4.Twice daily, I use Burt’s Bees natural acne solutions Salicylic acid acne treatment from willow bark targeted spot treatment. This is a REALLY natural remedy. It is an oil so it leaves my acne spots really dry, but it’s worth it because that’s the purpose and it leaves an amazing difference overnight. 5. Once every three evenings (it says once every three days)- I use Deep cleansing pore strips for nose and face. 7 face strips and 7 nose strips. I’ve only used it once so far and my nose blackheads are much less obvious. If you have any recommendations please comment!ST. Ives - Acne Control Face Scrub With Salicylic Acid Clean&Clear - Daily Acne Skincare Essentials Set with Foaming Facial Cleanser, Deep Cleaning Astringent & Dual Action Moisturizer, Oil-Free, 3 Cleanser and toner for acne relief Walgreens - Deep Cleaning Pore Strips Combo Pack BURT’S BEES - Natural Acne Solutions Targeted Spot Treatment

How to Get Rid of Blackheads: Best Ingredients to Look For!
Blackheads are a skincare occurrence that most of us struggle with, whether you have oily skin or not. Before knowing what ingredients to use to get rid of them, what you need to do is understand what blackheads are in the first place.  What is a blackhead? Blackheads are one of the most common forms of acne. Our pores sometimes get congested with dead skin and sebum. When this gunk comes in contact with the air, it gets oxidised, and turns black, and hence is called a blackhead. While some people are genetically prone to blackheads, and those with oily skin tend to have more, they can also occur due to hormonal changes (like puberty or starting a new hormonal birth control) or from wearing heavy makeup.  Dermatologist-approved Ingredients for blackheads “The good news is that there is a cornucopia of over-the-counter products that contain effective ingredients to exfoliate, soften, and even remove blackheads,” says Allison Britt Kimmins, MD, MPH. Here I did some research about dermatologists to get the lowdown on which ingredients fight them best and some products recommendations. Salicylic acid Salicylic acid, found in many acne products, is a longtime skincare staple for its ability to unclog pores by cleaning out enlarged follicles that fill with sebum and become blackheads.  Because the ingredient can irritate the skin if used too much, it’s best to use it as a targeted treatment instead of all over your face or body. Many people may be sensitive to salicylic acid and be able to use it more than once every few days. If you continue to react to it, discontinue use. Try:PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Gel Exfoliant This Paula’s Choice product has long been a cult-favourite salicylic acid exfoliator. The lightweight formulation absorbs quickly and is formulated at the optimal pH of 3.2 to 3.8 for maximum efficacy. Green tea extract is also present to provide calming and antioxidative properties. Glycolic acid An alpha hydroxy acid derived from sugarcane, gives blackhead-prone skin a fresh start. It goes to work by exfoliating the top skin layer and cleaning out clogged follicles. The benefits of this gentle acid are twofold. By dissolving the upper skin layer, it also triggers the skin cells to repair themselves—therefore creating more collagen. Try:exuviance - Pore Clarifying Cleanser It is soap-free formula and contains AHAs, PHAs, BHAs, suitable for oily and acne-prone skin. Azelaic acid "Azelaic acid is a dicarboxylic acid that helps exfoliate the skin and is synthesized by yeast naturally,"says NYC-based dermatologists Gervaise Gerstner,  MD. It is a multifunctional skincare ingredient that targets blackheads and can also lighten the brown discolouration caused by acne. Try: DERMAdoctor - Photodynamic Therapy Age Spot Eraser & Skin Brightener A revolutionary brightening face treatment Developed with awardwinning, antiaging red light technology Formulated with hydroquinonefree botanical boosters Helps even skin discoloration. Benzoyl Peroxide Like salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide works as a keratolytic agent, which means it’s able to break down and loosen the dead skin cells on the surface of the skin and down in the pores. In addition to cleaning out pores, benzoyl peroxide fights the bacteria that lead to breakouts. Try:Clean&Clear - Persa-Gel 10 Acne Medication Spot Treatment It can be drying, however, and harsh on sensitive complexions. Spot treat on a small patch of skin first to make sure you don’t react. Witch Hazel Witch hazel, which naturally soothes blackhead-prone skin with anti-inflammatory properties, appears most commonly in toners. If your regimen begins with toner, pass on the drying alcohol–based formulas and opt for water-based products.  Try:THAYERS - Witch Hazel Blemish Clearing Toner A fan-favorite and easily one of the most well-known witch hazel-containing products, this toner is recommended by Zeichner and also contains rose petal water and aloe to help hydrate and calm the skin. "It's important to eliminate oil, scale, salt, and possibly makeup after a workout to prevent these materials from congealing in pores," explains Craig Kraffert, MD, president of Amarte Skin Care. Noted that cleansing with a gentle cleanser (or a mild exfoliant) is best. Although some people may see a dermatologist for their blackheads, and there are also in-office treatments that can help, it’s really worth trying some skincare products with ingredients that can help us get rid of blackheads! Skincare products I won’t be repurchasing...
I’ve tried a fair amount of skincare products and some have been hits and others have been misses. Whether they were to harsh, didn’t work or just aren’t good for you they are products I won’t be repurchasing. Clean&Clear - Acne Triple Clear Exfoliating Facial Scrub This product is one that I’m cutting out for multiple reasons. First scrubs aren’t very good for your skin. They can be very rough and have ingredients that cause small tears to your skin. Clean and clear also tends to not have a great ingredient list. This product didn’t make me notice a difference in my skin. Sure it may have gotten ride of dead skin but I am much more interested in trying out to the ordinary’s peel instead. Neutrogena - Deep Moisture, Day Cream with Sunscreen, Broad Spectrum SPF 20 This product has been in my morning skin routine for a couple months but sadly won’t be anymore. A spf of 20 is just to low I want to have at least 30. It also is mixed into a cream so you aren’t getting much spf this way. It does also leave a white cast on your skin. I’m looking forward to trying a different sunscreen from neutrogena or Cerave.

Choose the right facial scrub from Drugstore
When it comes to cleansing, everyone is probably familiar with this step. We have this in our morning and evening routine even before we started skincare. Yes cleansing is the primary and essential step in your skincare routine. This time I tried three drugstore cleansers and want to share some tips for choosing the right cleanser on a budget. If you are looking for a drugstore pick, lets do it! First of all, from my personal experiences, my recommendation is to avoid harsh cleansers. For males or those with strong skin layers, you may find some harsh cleanser great just by the deep cleansed feeling after using it. But many harsh cleansers may cause dryness, and finalizes because of too much dehydration. Cetaphil - Extra Gentle Daily Scrub Cetaphil extra gentle daily scrub I really like the feeling of this scrub. Cetaphil is famous for their cleansers as gentle and organic. This product is not drying at all. It is mainly designed for sensitive skins. Recently I’ve been using this a lot because of the pealing on my nose. I tried some other scrubs and those actually makes my skin worse. This scrub is also very friendly to sensitive skin. Some feedbacks mentioned it is okay to use during their pregnant. From the ingredients side, I don't see any no nos on the ingredients list. Still I would suggest checking with your Doctor. GARNIER - SkinActive Charcoal 3 in 1 Face Wash, Scrub and Mask Garnier Skinactive This is a multi-use cleanser from Garnier another drugstore skincare giant. Garnier Skinactive Ultra Clean 3-in-1 with Charcoal is an innovative face wash that can be use in 3 different ways - cleaner, mask and scrub. Honestly this doesnt attract me. If I am looking for a cleansing product, especially in the drugstore, it should be either economic friendly or has great cleansing finish. However, I am impressed by the feeling. It is very gentle even my bff with sensitive skin loved it after trying once. Price is reasonable - I usually grab two at a time to stay stocked. Clean&Clear - Acne Triple Clear Exfoliating Facial Scrub I was super excited to try this cleanser but once I tried it I was slightly disappointed. It was extremely drying and left my skin squeaky while at the same time it left a film and I don't recommend products with citrus essential oils. Do not recommend.

This face wash is hydrating with mild bead exfoliants to keep the skin fresh and supple! I began to use this product when it first came out, so about a few months, and I love it! I love the texture and how it feels on my face and leaves me feeling refreshed and clean. It doesn’t give a squeaky clean feel which is great. I definitely recommend to use this product if you suffer from dry skin or just want to freshen up 🍉
