these products are what are keeping my skin glowy and healthy!! I switched up a few of my products since the last time I posted on here. there are 2 products that I was not able to list in the photo which are my ACV (apple cider vinegar) toner and the Banana Boat Aloe Vera Gel. the ACV toner works really well for me because it kills all of the acne-causing bacteria in my skin, which is part of the reason why I don’t break out very often. the Banana Boat Aloe Vera Gel is what I use for a moisturizer. even though it’s not meant to be a moisturizer, it hydrates my skin sooooo much and leaves me with a nice glow. one last thing I want to talk about is The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid Serum. that stuff is INCREDIBLE!! i would honestly give it 10 stars if i could. even though I have oily skin, the serum makes my skin GLOW without it looking or feeling oily. the best part is that you can get it for $5.... FIVE DOLLARS at Ulta and Sephora.

A dermatologist’s recs for maskne 😷✨
Let’s talk maskne, the most common chief complaint I’m seeing these days. There are many different causes ranging from acne mechanica (acne caused by irritation/pressure from the masks) to actually being allergic to the mask material. Consider seeing a dermatologist if the following tips/products don’t seem to help: If possible wear a clean surgical mask daily however with PPE shortage, this may not be possible. I use a n95 + surgical mask at work and a breathable, cotton mask outside of work. Avoid unnecessary makeup, don’t forget sunscreen, and don’t skip out on moisturizing. Whether you have dry or oily skin, you still need moisturizer. Oily/combination skin: use a benzoyl peroxide cleanser, a gentle retinoid such as adapalene gel, and spot treatment with either BP or salicylic acid. Start slow and increase as tolerated. Dry/sensitive skin: use a gentle cleanser, gentle moisturizer, and if tolerated consider a spot treatment with either benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid. Consider slowly adding a gentle retinoid like adapalene gel two to three times a week while using adequate moisturizer. What are your favorite types of masks/maskne treatments?

HELP! I need a new skincare routine!
(Excuse my eyebrows I need to get them threaded) LOL So I’ve always struggled with acne, and I’m 18 and it’s still going on. I started birth control to help with my periods and acne about a little over 2 years ago now, and it has dramatically decreased my acne and helped so much with my flow and cramps. I just want to feel more confident because I rarely wear any makeup (foundation) on my face, and when I do I just want it to look smooth and not bumpy. I would really appreciate if anyone could recommend any products they use or have used. My skin is mainly oily, but it can be combination sometimes and sensitive when it wants to. Also, I don’t want to spend a lot of money on products. And what are y’all’s opinions/reviews on The Ordinary? Please help me! 🙏🏼 My morning routine consists of: -Clean&Clear - Morning Burst Oil-Free Gentle Daily Face Wash -DICKINSON'S - Original Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner -FORMULA 10.0.6 - Seriously Shine Free Mattifying Oil Free Moisturizer My nighttime routine consists of: -GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Mattifying -CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin -Clean&Clear - Share NIGHT RELAXIN Deep Cleaning Face Wash -DICKINSON'S - Original Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner -Beauty 360° - Vitamin E Moisturizing Oil -GARNIER - SkinActive Soothing Facial Mist with Rose Water -FORMULA 10.0.6 - Seriously Shine Free Mattifying Oil Free Moisturizer (I do use masks sometimes just like everybody else after I double cleanse at nighttime).

Favorite parts of my day!
Clean&Clear - Morning Burst Oil-Free Gentle Daily Face Wash You know those people that love getting up in the morning and have all this energy? I’m not one of those people. I’m no where near being a morning person. When I finally convince myself to get out of bed I go straight to wash my face. I like to use cold water when washing my face with this product in the morning because combining that with this face scrub is the easiest way for me to completely wake up. Lots of face washes have irritated my sensitive skin but this one hasn’t and it makes me glad that I’m not trying to find which one works for me anymore because this one does. Use a moisturizer after product use. Clean&Clear - Share NIGHT RELAXIN Deep Cleaning Face Wash I have really bad insomnia and it can be really hard for me to fall asleep , even if I take some melatonin my body just won’t relax. But when I use this nighttime face wash before I go to bed or when I take a shower at night it gets me sleepy instantly. Going to bed with my face feeling soft and nice it the best way to fall asleep. Only thing though is I recommend using a moisturizer after using product. FOREO - LUNA fofo I used to just use my hands to rub in my face washes. Rub in circles rub in circles, but it didn’t do much for me when I was really wanting to exfoliate my skin. When I got this product I was a little scriptural at first thinking how does it know what routine my skin will need? I downloaded the app on my phone and tried it the night I got it. I had a hard time setting it up so I watched a few YouTube videos but once I knew what to do I started right away. This device is Bluetooth and connects to your app when you’re using it. The little skin censors on the back help the device understand what kind of hydration your skin has , and what kind of care it’s in. It scans your cheeks , nose , and forehead. After the scanning is done it programs the amount of time you use the product on that part of your face, and the intensity of the vibration will change depending on different parts of your face and what your skin needs. This product has helped my skin so much especially when I need my face to be exfoliated at the end of a long day. It scrubs away all the makeup and dirt I may have missed with just using a makeup wipe. Overall just love this product and it’s so cute and small it’s super easy to bring on trips because it just fits right into a bag with my face washes. You can use any face wash you want for this product which is what I like about it too. Highly recommend trying this one out

It's the most wonderful time of the year❄🌬🌲🌹⛄
I'm not sure about you, but during this time of the year my skin tends to get dry. I always for years have been sticking to HOLLYWOOD BEAUTY - Tea Tree Oil Skin and Scalp Treatment as a moisturizer! Another one of my favorites if you're not looking for something oily, but rather cooling I recommend Clean&Clear - Share ESSENTIALS Dual Action Moisturizer 🌹💝🙏 I hope this has been helpful for you🌹 please let me know your thoughts and ideas as well😌 Happy holidays to those who celebrate, and blessings to all🙏🌬⛄❄🌲

Skincare products that RUINED my skin...part 1!
Here are 10 products that I used to use and what I think of them. Check out other post showing my BEFORE & AFTER photos! 📸 These are the products/ routine that I showed my dermatologist, but there are more products that I used along with these! Stay tuned for my NEW routine! 1️⃣Mario Badescu Rose Facial Spray with aloe, herbs and rosewater. $7 for 4 oz ⭐️⭐️Review: Overall this product did not improve my overall skin. The ingredients are very cheap and are basically water and fragrance. 2️⃣ PractivMD deep cleansing face wash. $30 for 6 oz ⭐️⭐️Review: This face wash was super annoying with the tiny blue balls that they put in the scrub. This scrub stripped my skin of moisture, and I also used it too many times a day. 3️⃣Shea moisture Bamboo Charcoal Hydrating Gelee Moisturizer. $11 for 2 oz ⭐️⭐️⭐️Review: This moisturizer was a bouncy Jelly texture that was fun to put on my face. There was some good ingredients in the product. 4️⃣Thayer’s Witch Hazel Rose scented Toner. $11 for 12 oz ⭐️⭐️Review: Basically a waist of money, when you can find better ingredients than Witch Hazel. 5️⃣Sheer Cover Nourishing Moisturizer spf 15. $15 for 2 oz ⭐️⭐️⭐️Review: This product was super lightweight and had no white cast. The sun protection is too little though (spf 15). 6️⃣Clean & Clear Dual Action Moisturizer with Salicylic Acid step 3. $6.39 for 4 oz ⭐️Review: This product would burn. Not sting, but burn, for a long time and be painful. 7️⃣Olay Clearly Clean Acne Treatment Scrub with essence of citrus-mint. *discontinued ⭐️Review: This product broke me out once I used it. Also very stripping and rough to my face. 8️⃣Basis Cleaner Clean Face Wash. $6 for 6 oz ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Review: This was the best cleanser that I had back then. Gentle but has fragrance. 9️⃣Differn Acne treatment gel. $16 for 0.5 oz ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Review: This product worked well, but also dried my face out. Make sure to buy a thicker cream for face and do research before buying. 🔟Pop Vibrating Face Scrubber mini. $25 from Tjmax ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Review: Gave my face a nice gentle exfoliation and helped deeper clean my face with the vibrations. Stay tuned for a Part 2 of products that I used to use!🔜 Follow me for more content and comment any questions you have for me. 🤍 ~Products: MARIO BADESCU - Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater proactiv - Deep Cleansing Face Wash THAYERS - Rose Petal Facial Toner #Sheer Cover - Nourishing moisturizing spf 15[products]#[ThreeStars] Clean&Clear - Share ESSENTIALS Dual Action Moisturizer #Olay - Clearly clean acne treatment scrub with Essence of citrus-mint[products]#[OneStar] basis - Cleaner Clean Face Wash DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel POP SONIC - Leaflet Facial Cleansing Device #Shea Moisture - Bamboo Charcoal Hydrating Gelee Moisturizer[products]#[ThreeStars]

Brand Breakdown: Clean & Clear
Hey y’all! In today’s Brand Breakdown, we’re talking about Clean & Clear. While brands like St. Ives are no longer very popular due to Tiktok, Clean & Clear continues to be used by even skincare savvy people. So today we’re breaking down five of their products. First up let’s talk about their entire lemon collection. Clean&Clear - Lemon Exfoliating Slices Clean&Clear - Lemon Juice Toner Clean&Clear - Lemon Gel Cleanser Clean&Clear - Lemon Zesty Scrub I facepalmed when I saw these in Target the other day. Who decided that advertising an irritating ingredient was a good idea? I honestly don’t know. Citrus extracts such as lemon have chemical components similar to fragrance, and can be really irritating and drying. On top of that, these products have a ton of fragrance and alcohol. Next is their Clean&Clear - Morning Burst Oil-Free Gentle Daily Face Wash . Their morning burst cleanser has non plastic beads in it that break down when rubbed into the skin. Even though the beads aren’t plastic, they still will exfoliate your skin. If used daily like the instructions say to, this will cause over exfoliation. These products are also formulated with a harsh cleansing agent called Sodium Laureth Sulfate, which can cause irritation to those with sensitive skin, which is ironic because one of the cleansers in this line claims to be for sensitive skin. These products also have a ton of fragrance. Like literally it’s the 6th ingredient out of a long list. Specifically the orange colored burst cleanser advertises Vitamin C and Ginseng, but when I looks at the ingredients list these ingredients were at such a low percentage they wouldn’t do much. Next is is the Clean&Clear - Hydrating Watermelon Daily Gel Face Moisturizer . This product is one of the better Clean & Clear products. It has a basic moisturizer base, with glycerin and hylaronic acid. It does however have quite a bit of fragrance. It also has watermelon juice. Watermelon extract is an amazing and hydrating ingredient, and watermelon juice is a super diluted version of that. You won’t see a lot of the benefits of watermelon extract with watermelon juice. Next is the orange colored Clean&Clear - MORNING BURST Facial Scrub . This one is pretty similar to the cleanser. It has Sodium Laureth Sulfate, and a lot of fragrance. It has a small percentage of ginseng extract, as well as another citrus extract, but this time it’s grapefruit. Finally we have the weirdest Clean & Clear product: #Clean&Clear - Blackhead Eraser Pore Strips[products]#[OneStar] . It’s a pore strip (I have a post about why these don’t work), but it “transforms into a scrub”. These strips have a lot of alcohol in them, which makes them peel off, and it has fragrance. It has some good ingredients too though. It has glycerin, glycolic acid, and salicylic acid. But again pore strips don’t work. That’s it for this Brand Breakdown, please give this post a cheer and follow me for similar content! -Mae

My name is Uma. I always get terrible acne no matter the circumstances or previous improvement, but this past Tuesday, I began my own regimen, all Walgreens products. The zoomed out selfie was before my skincare routine. The acne pictures were after a few hours of waiting on improvement. I’m an incoming community college freshman student, and I want a fresh start in most areas, including my skin. I am almost nineteen and I’ve suffered from acne since I was barely even ten, and I finally found a routine that could work on my way out of my acne mess. I recommend all these products, no sponsorships. Step by step if your skin is similar to mine. All in my Walgreens 1. I use the Clean and Clear step 1 foaming facial cleanser. I rub it around my face and rinse 2. St Ives-Acne control oil free salicylic acid acne medication apricot scrub- I rub and rinse this cleanser 3-4 times a week, as directions tell me to do so. It works and leaves your skin smooth and lets the dirt go 3. Toner-Clean and clear essentials deep cleansing toner. I spread it around my skin until no obvious traces are on my skin. I use a cotton pad. This is my favorite product because it works really well on my skin and it’s anti inflammatory and in a matter of hours, my skin is not as red. 4.Twice daily, I use Burt’s Bees natural acne solutions Salicylic acid acne treatment from willow bark targeted spot treatment. This is a REALLY natural remedy. It is an oil so it leaves my acne spots really dry, but it’s worth it because that’s the purpose and it leaves an amazing difference overnight. 5. Once every three evenings (it says once every three days)- I use Deep cleansing pore strips for nose and face. 7 face strips and 7 nose strips. I’ve only used it once so far and my nose blackheads are much less obvious. If you have any recommendations please comment!ST. Ives - Acne Control Face Scrub With Salicylic Acid Clean&Clear - Daily Acne Skincare Essentials Set with Foaming Facial Cleanser, Deep Cleaning Astringent & Dual Action Moisturizer, Oil-Free, 3 Cleanser and toner for acne relief Walgreens - Deep Cleaning Pore Strips Combo Pack BURT’S BEES - Natural Acne Solutions Targeted Spot Treatment

How to Get Rid of Blackheads: Best Ingredients to Look For!
Blackheads are a skincare occurrence that most of us struggle with, whether you have oily skin or not. Before knowing what ingredients to use to get rid of them, what you need to do is understand what blackheads are in the first place.  What is a blackhead? Blackheads are one of the most common forms of acne. Our pores sometimes get congested with dead skin and sebum. When this gunk comes in contact with the air, it gets oxidised, and turns black, and hence is called a blackhead. While some people are genetically prone to blackheads, and those with oily skin tend to have more, they can also occur due to hormonal changes (like puberty or starting a new hormonal birth control) or from wearing heavy makeup.  Dermatologist-approved Ingredients for blackheads “The good news is that there is a cornucopia of over-the-counter products that contain effective ingredients to exfoliate, soften, and even remove blackheads,” says Allison Britt Kimmins, MD, MPH. Here I did some research about dermatologists to get the lowdown on which ingredients fight them best and some products recommendations. Salicylic acid Salicylic acid, found in many acne products, is a longtime skincare staple for its ability to unclog pores by cleaning out enlarged follicles that fill with sebum and become blackheads.  Because the ingredient can irritate the skin if used too much, it’s best to use it as a targeted treatment instead of all over your face or body. Many people may be sensitive to salicylic acid and be able to use it more than once every few days. If you continue to react to it, discontinue use. Try:PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Gel Exfoliant This Paula’s Choice product has long been a cult-favourite salicylic acid exfoliator. The lightweight formulation absorbs quickly and is formulated at the optimal pH of 3.2 to 3.8 for maximum efficacy. Green tea extract is also present to provide calming and antioxidative properties. Glycolic acid An alpha hydroxy acid derived from sugarcane, gives blackhead-prone skin a fresh start. It goes to work by exfoliating the top skin layer and cleaning out clogged follicles. The benefits of this gentle acid are twofold. By dissolving the upper skin layer, it also triggers the skin cells to repair themselves—therefore creating more collagen. Try:exuviance - Pore Clarifying Cleanser It is soap-free formula and contains AHAs, PHAs, BHAs, suitable for oily and acne-prone skin. Azelaic acid "Azelaic acid is a dicarboxylic acid that helps exfoliate the skin and is synthesized by yeast naturally,"says NYC-based dermatologists Gervaise Gerstner,  MD. It is a multifunctional skincare ingredient that targets blackheads and can also lighten the brown discolouration caused by acne. Try: DERMAdoctor - Photodynamic Therapy Age Spot Eraser & Skin Brightener A revolutionary brightening face treatment Developed with awardwinning, antiaging red light technology Formulated with hydroquinonefree botanical boosters Helps even skin discoloration. Benzoyl Peroxide Like salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide works as a keratolytic agent, which means it’s able to break down and loosen the dead skin cells on the surface of the skin and down in the pores. In addition to cleaning out pores, benzoyl peroxide fights the bacteria that lead to breakouts. Try:Clean&Clear - Persa-Gel 10 Acne Medication Spot Treatment It can be drying, however, and harsh on sensitive complexions. Spot treat on a small patch of skin first to make sure you don’t react. Witch Hazel Witch hazel, which naturally soothes blackhead-prone skin with anti-inflammatory properties, appears most commonly in toners. If your regimen begins with toner, pass on the drying alcohol–based formulas and opt for water-based products.  Try:THAYERS - Witch Hazel Blemish Clearing Toner A fan-favorite and easily one of the most well-known witch hazel-containing products, this toner is recommended by Zeichner and also contains rose petal water and aloe to help hydrate and calm the skin. "It's important to eliminate oil, scale, salt, and possibly makeup after a workout to prevent these materials from congealing in pores," explains Craig Kraffert, MD, president of Amarte Skin Care. Noted that cleansing with a gentle cleanser (or a mild exfoliant) is best. Although some people may see a dermatologist for their blackheads, and there are also in-office treatments that can help, it’s really worth trying some skincare products with ingredients that can help us get rid of blackheads! Help me 😭😭 PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ!!!
I have been on a journey with my skin this year. In my recent post you can see my skin was clear and nice and I was using Clean&Clear - CONTINUOUS CONTROL® Acne Cleanser and I rarely had break outs. Is it really that bad? I mean it kept my skin clear. I started using what they called better for skin like CeraVe - Salicylic Acid Facial Cleanser and then I switched to the hydrating one and still got break outs. Then I switched to LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel which claimed my skin down. Then it started getting bad again and I switched to YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Cleanser + Cream Youth Duo Mini last week and it’s okay I haven’t used it long enough to see if it works for me. But I need tips on if I should go back to my clean and clear or if Should just keep waiting. I haven’t been eating as healthy as I was so idk if that plays a factor. Someone please help because it’s really putting my confidence down . :((

Which product is best for combo skin??
I need help finding a good cleanser that won’t stop. But still feel clean after using. Nothing that will break me out or cause irritation. I used Clean&Clear - CONTINUOUS CONTROL® Acne Cleanser for years and it kept my face breakout free pretty much. Then I listen to tiktok and everything about how this product is so bad. I need help picking out a great cleanser and basically a whole regimen. “Price doesn’t matter” as long as I get my clear sling back. Every since I switched to “ better options” it just seems my skin is going down hill. I’ve had multiple allergic reactions and very dry flakey skin lately. And more break outs then normal. Please help me from not going back to my clean and clear !!

Start of Documentation
I’m mostly using this to keep track of my skincare routine and try and figure out what works. I’m just getting into the skincare world and am excited to experiment and figure out a routine! Usually I use Aveeno - Ultra-Calming Hydrating Gel Cleanser in the shower at night and then use Melaleuca - Renew Skin Therapy which I like as a nice thick moisturizer before going to bed at night. In the morning I’ll sometimes use Clean&Clear - Morning Burst Oil-Free Hydrating Face Wash which I give 4 stars only because the beads aren’t my favorite. I’ll also use Lubriderm - Daily Moisture Lotion, Vitamin B5 and SPF 15 which has a bit of a white cast. I’ve used The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution twice in the past week which I’m only rating 4 stars because I haven’t noticed a huge difference and I’m waiting for more long term results. However, it didn’t really sting either time I’ve used it, and it’s seemingly reduced a red spot I’ve had on my nose. I was meaning to try out some other full face treatments tonight but got minorly sunburned during the day so I put on some #CareOne - After Sun Gel with Aloe[products]#[ThreeStars] which stung pretty bad. I’m still trying to find a moisturizer that doesn’t have petroleum in it so first I went in with an eye cream for the first time and dabbed on BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Marine Algae Eye Creamand we’ll see how that goes. I’ll most likely go with the Melaleuca lotion for the nighttime even though it has petroleum/petrolatum which isn’t recommended for post sunburn since it traps in the heat. TLDR: got a sunburn, does anyone have a recommendation for lightweight nighttime moisturizers without petroleum/petrolatum or not oil based?

HELP! Huge Pores and Cystic Acne
Hello all! These are the first pictures of my skincare journey. I amjust starting out with actually building a routine, working with what’s tagged in the last pic (My skin is a little red, today was clay mask day 😝) Summer weather wrecks havoc on my oily combo skin. The pores on my cheeks are HUGE, especially on the less acne prone side (first pic). I get a lot of hormonal cystic acne on my cheeks and chin. I take Spironolactone and BC but they don’t help much anymore ☹️. If you have any recommendations or pointers, they would be greatly appreciated!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Here are the few products that currently are working for me: Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Gel-Cream Fav moisturizer, just bought the SPF version to try! Queen Helene - Mint Julep Masque My fav mask for acne and redness. Aveeno - Clear Complexion Sheer Daily Moisturizer SPF 30 This version leaves my skin oily. However, the non-SPF version is fantastic, and is a fav for winter. AZTEC SECRET - Indian Healing Clay Improves pore size and acne, can be a tad drying.

This face wash is hydrating with mild bead exfoliants to keep the skin fresh and supple! I began to use this product when it first came out, so about a few months, and I love it! I love the texture and how it feels on my face and leaves me feeling refreshed and clean. It doesn’t give a squeaky clean feel which is great. I definitely recommend to use this product if you suffer from dry skin or just want to freshen up 🍉
