SIMPLE PM ROUTINE FOR LONG & FRIZZY HAIR
SWIPE LEFT TO SEE END RESULT🚨 SOOOOOO before I go to sleep, EVERY SINGLE NIGHT, I have to braid my hair. Over the years (four to be exact), I’ve just become accustomed to braiding it because it’s the easiest way to manage my hair texture. (I have flat hair, but it’s not bone straight if ya know what i mean.) So along with the refusal of damaging my hair with heat, I settled for braiding. It’s been forever since i used a straightener.... I love being simplistic. Hehe . So heres a 3-step routine for nightly hair care to keep hair untangled and frizz-free. I also chose NOW Sweet Almond Oil ( promotes softer texture/lightweight) because I just love natural/simple products. I love using holistic remedies as my #1. I did add in some Rose Geranium. Although essential oils aren’t considered holistic, they are still natural and extremely beneficial (promotes hair growth& natural perfume) Step 1: After washing hair , let hair air dry and comb it out with a wide tooth comb (don’t completely dry , leave damp) Step 2: After detangling , apply a generous amount of oil starting from the tips of hair, making your way up. Being mindful not to add to much oil Step 3: Detangle one more time, now braid WHAT’S YOUR HAIR ROUTINE/WHAT OIL DO YOU USE?

Feed your hair and scalp
Gone are the days of Luster’s Pink Lotion. I will rejoice and be glad in it. I have natural, 4C hair and there was a time when I could only get hair products from the beauty supply store. That has thankfully changed — even if most department stores like to categorize the products I need as “ethnic hair products.” (But that’s is a discussion for another day.) I also have a dry scalp if I don’t oil it. Most of the products I purchased from Sephora, T.J. Maxx, Sephora, BirchBox and my local department stores. And since I have 4C hair, my hair tends to be on the dry side. This is because the oil from my scalp has more of a hurdle to get over because of the coils unlike the easily shot straight hair provides. I find it best to treat the scalp and hair like two different entities. I use the scalp massager (not the Sephora brand one. I am pretty sure I got it from Amazon) to work in my PAUL MITCHELL - Tea Tree Special Shampoo and PAUL MITCHELL - Tea Tree Special Conditioner while in the shower. The tingling is amazing, but DON’T GET IT IN YOUR EYES. From there, the hair masks obviously focus on the the moisture and repairing of my hair while the oils I use to help my scalp, then seal in the moisture the masks infused in my hair. I try to switch up my masks often and mix them when I am feeling adventurous. Briogeo - Don't Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Hair Mask : I received the tube one in a BirchBox. It is packed with nutrients and is supposed to help damaged hair. Briogeo - Scalp Revival Charcoal + Coconut Oil Micro-exfoliating Scalp Scrub Shampoo : My Sephora birthday selection. It is for all hair types and is supposed to breakdown buildup. amika: - Triple Rx Mask : A $14.99 TJM purchase that I just couldn’t turn down. It is supposed to repair, restore and revitalize dry or damaged hair. OUAI - OUAI Leave-In Conditioner: Also a BirchBox product. I haven’t used it yet. now - Solutions, Certified Organic, Jojoba Oil is rich with fatty acids and helps promote softer hair and skin. now - Solutions, Sweet Almond Oil is high in vitamin E and locks moisture into hair strands. Reduces dandruff and promotes a healthy scalp #365 - Avocado oil[products]#[FourStars] stimulates blood flow and unclog blocked follicles. Sunny Isle - The Original Sunny Isle Jamaican Black Castor Oil and all of the other SI JBCO are GOATs. I love this brand and JBCOs. (Not pictured) What are your hairly grail products? #CheriePartner

✨My updated Night Routine!✨
I have dry, sensitive, acne prone skin! It’s challenging to find products that doesn’t irritate my skin, but at the same time keep my skin clear from breakouts. Unlike other routines you’ve seen, I have to keep my skin routine simple, and short. These products have left me feeling confident & flawless bare skinned.😊 Let’s get into it- First I wash my face with the Neutrogena - Oil-Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit Facial Cleanser This is by far the BEST face wash I’ve invested in! It’s cleared up my dark spots, and is the only face wash able to control my breakouts! Moisturizer is a MUST afterwards. 10/10!!! Secondly I go in with #Grisi - Aloe Vera face cream & body lotion[products]# This is the cheapest, yet best choice I’ve ever made! This is an intense moisturizer, that replenishes any lost moister. U can use this PM/AM, although I prefer night time due to its thick consistency. Lastly, 3 times a week a apply now - Solutions Jojoba Oil You can choose which ever days are the best for you. I personally apply this after my moisturizer on Monday, Wensday, & Friday. When I wake up my skin feels replenished, & new. This natural oil leaves my skin barrier clean, and moisturized. My skin care does not have the fancy oils, and toners, and 10 extra steps. But it’s the routine that fits me, and most importantly leaves my skin glowing!✨🙌

✨ ACNE ROUTINE ✨
~ Saved my skin in less than a week ~ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ After my skin was utterly destroyed a while back, I decided to take this opportunity to see how truly effective my skincare routine actually was. Here's what we're playing with: cystic acne, fungal acne, whiteheads, enlarged and irritated pores, flakiness, redness, dark spots, acne scars. The first pic is me now. You can still see the scars a bit on my cheeks, but they're fading fast. The second pic is me about a week ago. You can't really tell, but my forehead is COVERED in fungal acne. So is the area around my nose and under my lower lip. NIGHT ROUTINE: Cleanser: YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser - Lathers nicely, a little goes a long way - Nice smell, doesn't sting eyes - Balances my combo skin extremely wrll- never feels tight or oily Toner: THE inkey LIST - Polyhydroxy Acid (PHA) Gentle Exfoliating Toner - Sticky but worth it - PHA is a gentler exfoliant than AHA and BHA, so you can use it everyday - 3% niacinamide!! Really helped with my dark spots and acne scars - Unexpectedly helped manage my redness and pores as well! - USE SUNSCREEN EVERY DAY, especially with any active ingredients like niacinamide Treatment cream: Neutrogena - Rapid Clear Stubborn Acne Spot Gel - Super drying (use a good moisturizer in the morning) - No weird fragrance - Doesn't make skin itch or burn (a lot gentler than salicylic acid) - Really helps with cystic acne Oil: now - Solutions Jojoba Oil - Helped me purge a few months ago (mimics sebum production and this regulates it), now it's a staple in my routine - Depending on skin type, be careful when introducing oil to your routine Cream: MARIO BADESCU - Seaweed Night Cream - Smells disgusting - Looks disgusting - Fake fragrance, fake color, blegh - BUT IT WORKS SO WELL; hasn't broken me out, really helped with redness on my cheeks and around my nose - This product's still on my sketch radar though Spot treatment: MARIO BADESCU - Mario Badescu Drying Lotion - Has calamine; calamine helps with yeast infections, which are what cause fungal acne breakouts - Has alcohol; burns like a mofo, but skin surprisingly isn't irritated come morning - Works extremely well on ...everything - 11/10 would recommend DAY ROUTINE: Same cleanser and toner with the addition of a lotion instead of a dream and sunscreen. Lotion: MARIO BADESCU - Hydro Moisturizer With Vitamin C - Face ways seems super plump after I use this *winks in vitamin c - No fragrance! - Super lightweight, non-greasy Sunscreen: MyChelle dermaceuticals - Sun Shield Liquid SPF 50 - Minimal white cast (unavoidable with zinc, but zinc is, IMHO, the best physical sunscreen ingredient, and this is the best sunscreen I've found so far) - Smells quite nice, actually - Non-comedogenic, non-greasy - MATTE, WOOHOO That's the tea ☕😌

Debunking skincare myth: oils for oily skin
For so long, I’ve heard that if you have oily skin you must completely stay away from using oils at all times🙅🏽‍♀️ but just like we’re rediscovering that not all dietary fats are bad for us, we’re also learning that oils in skincare may actually be beneficial. It’s important to remember that our skin is meant to produce sebum to protect us from pathogens, pollution, and other environmental factors. But what happens when we’re producing more oils than we’d prefer? Possible reasons for oily skin genetic/dosha/constitution: whether you prefer to understand your body from the biomedical or traditional eastern medicine perspective, many of us carry certain predispositions to certain conditions. Ayurveda, a traditional Indian science, looks at the body in terms of balance and imbalance and when the body is in imbalance, person x may exhibit oily skin, while person y exhibits dry skin. hormonal fluctuations: puberty, stress, inflammatory diets overcleansing: using harsh cleansers (I.e. alcohol) or washing your face too often may strip necessary oils, tricking the body into thinking it needs to produce even more oil, thus overcompensating dehydration: I learned this while working in skincare. Hydration is key in structural support of the skin, like collagen. When our skin is lacking hydration, our skin produces more oils as a protective mechanism from the environment (pollution, pathogens.) Over the last few years, as I’ve come out of my oily, acne-prone pubescent skin, I’ve allowed myself the chance to discover the benefits of face oils. Many of them serve the purpose of nourishing and protecting the skin. How to use face oils 1. Dampen the skin with a hydrating toner or water mist for better absorption of the oil 2. If you’re just introducing face oils, start of with light-medium oils that regulate sebum production, such as now - Solutions, Certified Organic, Jojoba Oil 3. BEWARE!! Coconut oil is comedogenic (pore-clogging) for most... Although, some people, specifically of African/Caribbean/Indian descent, have been able to use it just fine. 4. And yes oil cleansing should be fine for oily skin too, as oil draws out oil plugs. Just make sure to use one that emulsifies, like the Corpa Flora - Beauté Divine Sensitive Skin Cleansing Oil which doesn’t even require double cleansing, but it’s completely up to you 🤗

Perfect Barrier Repair PM Routine
If you have damage barrier and are finding that even the most gentle products are making your skin burn THIS is the PM routine for you! Step 1: Wash your face with the La Roche-Posay Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser. It is very gentle and conditioning. This is not a face wash for people with normal skin, this is for dry sensitive types who do not need any additional stripping of the skin. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser Step 2: After your face is dry, prep your skin for moisture with the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Toner. It is called a toner, but really just acts like an essence and pre-hydrates your face time receive the creams. Kiehl's - Ultra Facial Toner Step 3: Go in with treatment with La Roche Posay’s Cicaplast Baum B5 to really repair the barrier and get the vitamins your skin needs. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Cicaplast Baume B5 for Dry Skin Irritations Step 4: La Roche-Posay’s Lipikar Moisturizing Lotion to moisturize your skin and further repair your barrier with their prebiotic water. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Lipikar Moisturizing Lotion Step 5: Time for the cream, this is a heavier moisturizer than the Lipikar but really locks in all the treatments. CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin Step 6: Give your skin a little to rest but if you’re as dry as I am when your skin freaks out use some raw Shea butter as your last step. It’s completely non-comedogenic (will not cause breakouts/clog pores) and mimics your body’s natural sebum. To me this is the MOST useful step in my repair routine. It really helps my skin heal and reset! now - Solutions, Shea Butter, Certified Organic I know this is a pretty long routine and full of moisture, but it really helps to repair my skin after a flare or product destroys my skin’s barrier. My skin feels so much better today and I was able to use my normal routine with just a little extra moisturizer! Hope this helps those with this problem!

Dry Skin Savior for $10
If you’ve ever gotten to the point that no matter what creams and oils you slather on your face and/or body, you still have dry painful skin this is for you. Shea butter is completely non-comedogenic (0 on the comedogenic scale) because it closely mirrors the sebum our bodies naturally produce. When I’m super dry I just slap some of this baby on as my last step in my skincare treatment and ACTUALLY wake up with skin that isn’t dry. It’s amazing and cheap! The massive tub I have in this picture was just $10 USD and some change. Works amazing on the body, too!!! now - Solutions, Shea Butter, Certified Organic

Oils For Acne !?
Many may run at the idea of using an oil on acne prone skin BUT what if I told you that using oils for acne can be very helpful for your acne. Are you curious? Or are you already running for the door 😂? Let’s talk about it . . . Why Would You Use Oil On Acne 🥴 First it depends on what types of oil(s) you are using and we will get into that as we go. Many oils have great antibacterial , soothing and healing prosperities which is great for acne. These beneficial oils will help reduce breakouts and heal them leading to less scarring. So What Types Of Oils Do You Use 🤷🏼‍♀️ There are about 7 oils I know from my experience that have helped me with my acne. These oils are natural and unrefined ( including essential oils) I do suggest staying away from mineral oils and petroleum jelly. Those do nothing but sit on top of the skin, can clog pores and have no nutritional value for the skin. Using natural oils penetrate the the skin and have more beneficial properties. Here are some oils I recommend & Why they are beneficial for acne 🌺Almond Oil Helps dissolve excessive oil, Improves cell turnover, hypoallergenic 🌸Coconut Oil Antibacterial, Reduces scarring 🌹Tea Tree Oil Anti inflammatory, Antimicrobial, reduces swelling and redness 🌼Lavender Oil Antibacterial, healing, unclogs pores, anti inflammatory 🌻Vitamin E Oil ( my personal fav ! Place this on a breakout and see how fast it heals !) Anti inflammatory, antioxidant, healing 💐Jojoba Oil Healing,Antimicrobial,Anti Inflammatory 🌷Castor Oil ( another one of my faves! But it’s thick thick so don’t use too much) Antibacterial,Antimicrobial, helps with skin texture What do all of these oils have in common ? Comment below ☺️ It’s important to use antibacterial ingredients when dealing with acne to get rid of bacteria from skin which causes breakouts. Paired with that you want to also use healing ingredients to reduce scarring from breakouts. There are many oils I recommend doing your research How Do I Use Oils In My Regimen 🧏🏼‍♀️ It can be as simple or as fancy as you want, a simple method will be taking a little bit of oil onto fingers and massaging it directly into skin. The fancy way is mixing oils like a few drops of tea tree oil into some coconut oil and applying to skin. Everyones experience with using oils is different some or none may work for you. Oils should be applied at night over moisturizer and cleansed off in the morning. This will allow your skin to absorb the benefits of the oil. I do this and notice a major improvement in my breakout in the morning. I do not suggest wearing oil during the day because you are more active , and if you wear makeup this can cause you to produce more oil. And trust me oil on top of oil + More breakouts is not a look ! Depending on your skin you can use oils nightly 1 to 3 times out the week. It’s important to pay attention to how your skin is reacting. #cheriecreator Any questions ? Ask In commments ❤️

My Current Skincare Routine!
Howdy everybody! I’m Carl, and this is my current skincare routine. Some of these products I’ve bought myself, others are gifts (like the SkinActive Soothing Kit by Garnier). Some products are kinda old, like the Neutrogena - Alcohol Free Toner . Only so much of it is left, and though I liked it and it worked well I’m going to be using the HERITAGE STORE - Rosewater Facial Tonersoon! My newest product is the ACURE - Brightening Super Greens Serum which I adore right now! I’m hoping to use the GLOBAL BEAUTY CARE - Cucumber Hydrogel Face Masksome time soon. All in all these products have been very helpful and I recommend them (especially the GARNIER - SkinActive Soothing 3-in-1 Face Moisturizer with Rose Water ) to any of you who have dry skin and need that extra moisture every day! Hopefully by the end of quarantine (whenever that is) my skin will be amazing! 🥰

3C/4A texture wash day (sensitive skin 👌🏽)
Because I’m prone to eczema on my neck, I have to be really careful with my haircare. I used to consistently use Shea Moisture, but unfortunately their products are too heavy on the fragrance for me, so I tried different “clean” lines that were either greenwashing and/or just didn’t support my kind of hair texture 👩🏽‍🦱 Now I’m finally satisfied with my hair wash and conditioning process thanks to these products! Pure Anada’s line is almost doing it for my type of hair, I feel like the conditioner could just be a little richer and then it’d be a 5 ⭐️ for my coils. I did use some of my old Shea Moisture conditioner to detangle some super tangled strands. I like the use of rosemary in the Pure Anada s+c though, due to its hair growth properties, which I can use for a bald patch that I discovered on my nape last year. After washing, I deep conditioned with the coconut milk mask & oils (castor (4/5 bc of dense scent) on scalp to promote hair growth & the apricot and intimacy oil (not for sex! 🤪 contains hemp) all over for that nice sheen.) Check out that curl pattern before and especially after a twist out! Whew we’ve honestly come a long way, I’ll have to show you guys my hair transformation journey at some point🤳🏽 Pure Anada - Shampoo - Peppermint Rosemary Pure Anada - Conditioner - Peppermint Rosemary GRAYDON - Intimacy Oil om - Coconut Milk Hair Mask SheaMoisture - Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Conditioner Sunny Isle - The Original Sunny Isle Jamaican Black Castor Oil now - Solutions, Apricot Oil

Jojoba oil for the win
Jojoba oil for the win
I used to think that putting an oil on my face would never help me at all. I thought my skin was REALLY oily, but it was just extremely dehydrated from all of the stripping and drying products that I used. A facial oil does my sensitive combination skin well as long as I exfoliate regularly. This facial oil gives me what I want even I don’t. I’ve been using this oil on my face for a few years now and it balances my skin out very nicely not only during the winter time but year round. I don’t need to use a lot of it to get what I need from it. Pros: * doesn’t feel greasy *mimics the oil naturally produced on my face to prevent excess oil production * sinks in nicely *gives a soft highlight on my nose and cheeks I really don’t have any cons for this. It lasts me for a while as I alternate through trying new oils and the price point is good for me. I’m on my third bottle and I’ll be buying another one when it runs out :)
