How to remove dip powder and gel nails!
Removing dip powder and gel nails can be intimidating because you may feel worry about damaging your nails, especially if you are doing it yourself. Here are my step by steps to easily remove nail polish: 1. File top layer with a strong nail file grit. This will make it easier for the aceton to penetrate and dissolve the nail polish 2. Saturate cotton ball with pure acetone. Make sure not to skip this step since only 100% acetone can remove dip powder and gel. Onyx Brands - 100% Pure Acetone Nail Polish Remover 3. To allow the aceton to do its magic, wrap each nail with aluminum foil. Wait 10 to 15 minutes 4. Remove and enjoy clean nails 5. since acetone can be drying, apply cuticle oil BLOSSOM - Scented Cuticle Oil - Lavender note: if after removing the cotton ball you still have nail polish on, repeat steps 2 and 3. sometimes you may need to use a orange stick to remove any leftovers 4.
DIY dip powder nails tutorial!
Since I had my 3rd child, it have been so difficult for me to go to the nail salon and now with the COVID-19 pandemia even more difficult. I was using regular nail polish, my favorite is OPI, but since I never have enough time to let them dry I always ended up with bad looking nails. That's why I decided to try #Kawaniya - Kawaniya dipping podwer started kit [products]#[ThreeStars] I found it on Amazon.ca, it was on sale for $30 Canadian . This started kit is very complete, it comes with 4 different color powders, the base coat, activator , top coat and basic tools to do your nails. The first time I used, I really enjoyed the process. There is NO Drying time required so that was a plus for me. The only thing was the instructions were not clear, I had to watch some YouTube tutorials to figure out how to apply properly. **Be aware that the product has a strong smell so I recommend to do your nails in a well ventilated place. Unfortunately the nails only lasted for 3 days. I will give it the benefit of the doubt and try again to see if I can do a better job at applying them. My Usual Go-To Makeup Look
*ignore the fact that my eyebrows are a little out of control at the moment, I’m working on growing them out and fixing the patchyness so I can go get them waxed* First I start by mixing The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and Neutrogena - SkinClearing Oil-Free Liquid Foundation , I’m not exactly sure all what it does but it makes my face look smoother. Then I apply it to my face using REAL TECHNIQUES - REAL TECHNIQUES Foundation Blender . I then go on to my eyeshadow. I use the color called top from JEFFREE STAR COSMETICS - Orgy Eyeshadow Palette . I take the MORPHE - Morphe X Jeffree Star JS6 Rule Blender Brush and apply that eyeshadow to my eyelid. Then I use the shimmer bronzer from #Ulta Beauty - Bronzer, Blush, and Highlighter Palette[products]#[FiveStars] to put some shimmer on the corner of my eye because I didn’t have the right glitter eyeshadow for this. After that I use ULTA BEAUTY - Waterproof Amped Lashes Mascara for my eyelashes. I take the BLOSSOM - Tropicali Flavored Roll-on Lip Gloss and put that on my lips, then I blot that with some tissue and apply some Red Dahlia BURT’S BEES - Tinted Lip Balm . I do it this way so that my lips are well moisturized when I put the tinted lip balm on and it doesn’t look dry. Then after all that I take my MORPHE - MORPHE X Jeffree Star JS7 Double Trouble Brush to brush out my eyebrows. And that’s all. It’s simple and doesn’t have too many steps. I’m not at all good at makeup. I’m just a beginner but I feel that this looks good on me. In my opinion this is a pretty good natural/minimal look. I’m always open to feedback because I am still learning.
Let’s Talk Lip Gloss
I love lip gloss so much. I love the way it makes my lips shinny and tinted. I especially love when it’s either red or untinted. (Listed in order from 1-8) ULTA BEAUTY - Lasting Color Lip Gloss Stain , this lip stain works wonders, it has the perfect red tint that anyone could ask for. I got this as a Christmas present but I believe it’s around $10 for a full size tube. VICTORIA'S SECRET - Flavor Gloss , this gloss is subtle and sweet(literally), it’s flavored. I bought this for $6, it was on sale, usually it’s $10. COVERGIRL - Lip Lava , not my favorite, I dislike the color and it goes on a little streaky. It smells like crayons. I got this from Walmart for like $10. BLOSSOM - Tropicali Flavored Roll-on Lip Gloss , i actually have the raspberry scent. It’s one of my favorites only because it has no tint/color, it smells amazing and it hydrates my lips quite well. Only thing is is that it looks a little like grease on the lips instead of lip gloss. I bought this from Hot Topic for about $7. #Manshili - Cats Wink Lip Gloss - Red[products]#[FiveStars] , this is super cheap around $3. I’m pretty sure I originally bought this from wish. I love the color and consistency, it’s very smooth. It stays on for a good amount of time without having to reapply. JEFFREE STAR COSMETICS - JEFFREE STAR COSMETICS The Gloss , I bought this one right when Jeffree Star launched his orgy collection. I love the color and how shimmery/glittery it is. This cost $18. HAUS LABORATORIES - Le Riot Lip Gloss , very good quality lip gloss. Love the color and how thick and shiny it is. I bought this from Amazon for about $18. SOAP & GLORY - Sexy Mother Pucker Pillow Plump XXL Lip Plumping Gloss , I love this stuff. It makes my lips look fuller and bigger. I also like the slight pinky tint it gives. Not sure why but I love the way it makes my lips tingle. I got this in a free gift from Ulta but for a full size tube it’s $13.
All About The Cuticles BABY 💅🏽 Go-To Product!
CUTICLES! Everyone has them, and NOT everyone takes care of them! Recently I got a beauty basket as a birthday gift and included inside was this cuticle oil. I’m being real honest and saying i’ve never been into “nail health” they get taken care of when i go to the salon every two weeks and then whatever for the rest. QUARANTINE & this whole pandemic has really made me pay attention to things i’ve never had much interest in or never had to the time to fully ingulf myself with. My nails have been a main focus for me, i’ve had to be the one to up keep the maintenance on my fingers so i’ve been able to pay attention and see what they need to make sure they look clean and healthy. I got my nails done professionally the other day for my birthday and i seen my cuticles just look so dry and so not cute, luckily i got the BLOSSOM - Cuticle Oil- Spring Bouquet in my birthday basket and it had been SAVING my cuticles and IT SMELLS GOODT! I use it every couple days and i have been seeing a difference! i’m interested in trying other scents from this brand as well. Are you guys into cuticle care and nail care? Let me know what you use and have been loving!! 💅🏽
