✨ session 1 of 3: 12.5% TCA at home peel ✨
i love this brand – i’ve used makeup artist's choice - GREEN TEA/POMEGRANATE CLEANSER & TONER and makeup artist's choice - Green Tea/Pomegranate Moisturizer religiously for over a year. several months ago, i started using makeup artist's choice - Mandelic/Salicylic Peel and noticed immense results. so i decided to try their TCA peel. for a 12%, 15%, or 18% peel, you would pay about 500.00 PER TREATMENT if done in a doctor’s office and typically is done three times with 2-3 weeks in between each – that would be a combined cost of around 1,500.00. i’ll update after each one but swipe for my face during, immediately after, and two hours after. skin info – combo, oily t-zone, somewhat acne prone, sensitive price – 25.50 usd for 1/2 oz kit. reasonable to me because i won’t need more than 1/2 before increasing to the next concentration (15%). comes with peel, post peel neutralizer, green tea/pomegranate cleanser, latex (👎) gloves, and instructions pamphlet. first thoughts – felt hot when i first applied it, with an uncomfortable but not unbearable tingling sensation as time went on – this is ONLY on the skin for 5 minutes. i noticed some light frosting in my chin area after about 45 seconds (2nd picture), so i neutralized that area as per instructions, and let it sit. where i had frosting was red (3rd picture) immediately after neutralizing and cleansing, but has calmed down after a couple hours (4th picture). priming – for 24 hours before, i didn’t use any products containing actives or exfoliating ingredients. aftercare – ALWAYS important when doing any kind of treatment, but especially after acid peels. i used neosporin as a base, then followed with 2-3 drops of 100% cold-pressed argan oil and the green tea / pomegranate moisturizer as mentioned above. overall, i can’t really rate this product yet – i may not even see results from this concentration because my skin’s tolerance to peels is higher, but maybe this will be an ongoing series of posts! ✨
