Simplified, temporary skincare routine
Hey everyone💘 I took some advice on my last skincare post and I’ve simplified my routine!! I am still using the FIRST AID BEAUTY - Pure Skin Face Cleanser because it hasn’t affected my skin in a bad way at all and it’s the best cleanser I’ve tried for a while! Along with the pixi - Glow Tonic because I’ve cut back on exfoliating since my skin was getting extra sensitive but I still need some sort of exfoliation A new product that I’ve started using is DHC - Deep Cleansing Oil because it was recommended for me to try an oil cleanser to help my dryness which I think it has been helping quite a bit, I’ve only been using it for about a week but so far so good! Next is the NIP+FAB - Dragon's Blood Fix Plumping Serum which I’ve been using on & off for a while, I was using it on clients for a long time & everyone loved it too! It smells sooo good and feels great on my skin, I’ve never had a bad reaction to it either :) im using this temporarily until my The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 comes in from sephora which i have tried and love!! Another product I’ve been using on & off for a while is CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin bc it was recommended to me by my doctor to help soothe my eczema which it didn’t at all but it doesn’t feel bad on my skin, it’s just not moisturizing enough for me! But since it has ceramides and it’s made to maintain your skin barrier which i am in need of repairing, I’m using it temporarily until my new moisturizer comes in from sephora! Yet another on & off product NIP+FAB - Dragons Blood Fix Essence Mist I absolutely love this mist, it smells so good and it’s very hydrating and feels amazing on my skin! SUNDAY RILEY - C.E.O. Vitamin C Rich Hydration Cream i’ve been using this less often then the rest of the products because i do like the benefits of this product, the smell of it & what it has done for my skin so far but it is SO greasy & has a very thick consistency and i really hate greasy products on my face so i tend to not wear this one as often for this reason but other than that it’s a great cream and i like it! Lmk your thoughts on my new, simplified skincare routine and if I should make any of my temporary products more than temporary! ☺️

I’d rather get coal than...
#Nip+Fab - Dragon’s Blood Fix Plumping Serum[products]#[OneStar] I’m gonna be honest. I got this because the idea of using dragon’s blood to nourish my skin sounded really cool in a medieval sort of way. Didn’t even cross my mind that this product doesn’t actually contain any dragon’s blood. In all seriousness though, I was getting into Nip+Fab’s products around this time, and I really wanted to add in something to my routine that would plump up my forever jet-lagged skin. The tube says that the serum “delivers an instant shot or moisture to dehydrated skin” using hyaluronic acid and velvet flower blend. It even lists dragon’s blood as an ingredient, but it’s not what you think. Rather, it’s a sap derived from the Croton Lechery Tree which creates a barrier on your skin to combat pollution and retain moisture. All in all, you’re meant to be left with plump skin free of fine lines and wrinkles. The first few mornings I used it, I noticed the slightest difference. The effect was similar to that of Sisley’s Black Rose Mask, giving my skin a tighter, more awake look. But the real reasons I had to throw this product away were because 1) the effects were not long lasting, and my skin would soon dull up going into the day, and 2) its heavy, alcoholic, bad perfume-like smell. I just couldn’t tolerate it any longer. It reeks of chemicals, and any skin boost it provides is quickly outweighed by its fragrance-induced headache. As some listings have it at $30, I’d steer clear from this product.

Taking The Rough With The Smooth- The Magic Of Exfoliation
Like many women who live in pollution-filled cities, I’m slightly obsessed with exfoliating.  Pollution, a lack of sleep and busy days can quickly lead to dull looking skin - and I’m no exception.   Over the years, I’ve tried a few different products to see which works best for my skin.  In my quest to find an exfoliator which suits my oily skin.  I’ve tried my share of both chemical and physical products (and, believe me, there are lots of them out there) and, although some chemical exfoliators can be really effective, these were never my favourite.  For a start, I wasn’t too keen on the strong chemical smell of a few of the ones that I tried.  Secondly, I found that, because most chemical exfoliators contain acids of some description, although they cleaned my skin well, my face could feel a little tight and uncomfortable afterwards.   On the other hand, I found that physical face scrubs which contain a kind of grit which scrubs the skin, were never really effective enough to make my skin feel really clean and look refreshed.  Thankfully, perseverance paid off and, recently, I discovered two products which are the perfect combination of physical and chemical exfoliation.    Nip + Fab 3 in 1 Glycolic Fix Scrub NIP+FAB - Glycolic Fix Scrub This generously sized scrub comes in a cool green tube and is pale in colour with a very slightly gritty texture.  Containing 3% glycolic acid and salicylic acid, Nip + Fab’s offering has a very light and pleasant grapefruit scent which fades quickly.  I started to use Nip + Fab 3 in 1 Glycolic Fix Scrub twice a week and, even from the first use, I noticed that my skin looked brighter and more refreshed.  Nip + Fab is really easy to use and only takes a few minutes - simply apply, leave on a little while and then rinse off, leaving skin feeling incredibly clean.  Over the course of two weeks, there were visible improvements to my skin including reduced blemishes and a reduced appearance to my pores.  Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Scrub will most definitely now be a part of my skincare routine and I’ll be telling all my friends to give it a try.  Superdrug We Heart Rice Starch Face Scrub This affordable, vegan face scrub contains Talc, Zea Mays Starch, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Hydroxypropyl Starch Phosphate, Kaolin and Oryza Sativa Germ Powder. The scrub comes in a small pot in dry powder form and, to apply, you simply mix with water in your hand.  As well as scrubbing away dead skin cells, this scrub leaves the skin feeling really clean and, visibly brighter.  Although this scrub is gentle enough for daily use, I find that two or three times a week is enough to brighten my complexion.  I will definitely be buying this scrub again - and recommend it to anyone looking for an effective, pleasant smelling, affordable exfoliator.

Suns out, bums out! 🌞
Suns out, bums out! 🌞
Summer is not far off and even with this lockdown i am pretty sure we will all be basking in out backyards. Hence, the most important bit, SUNSCREEN!!! It is usually forgotten when we are just staying home but if your house gets large amount of sun rays and you tend to your backyard often a good sunscreen is a must. La Roche Posay- Anthelios I always hated sunscreen but wore it because i had to until i found this light tinted and very nice fluffy on skin sunscreen from La Roche Posay. It is a bit too liquid watery so have to be careful when you pour because there is no way you can put some back even if you wanted to. Apart from this i love this sunscreen. It soaks fast on skin and has no sticky feel at all. It is very reasonably priced too. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Anthelios 50 Mineral Ultra Light Sunscreen Fluid SPF 50 Innisfree- Intense UV Protection SPF 50+ This second sunscreen that i used before La Roche Posay was also quite good. It is smooth on akin and soaks well but it does have the usual sunscreen texture but it is good for sensitive skin too. innisfree - Intense UV protection cream triple care broad spectrum SPF 50+ Nip+Fab Fixes- No Needle Fix Moisturiser Sunscreen SPF 18 This third sunscreen is good for if you don’t go out in the sun too much. It only has 18 SPF and is moisturiser based. Though it does give me a good make up base sometimes when i am in a hurry. NIP+FAB - NIP+FAB No Needle Fix SPF20 Day Cream

Avoid The Layering!
Avoid The Layering!
As by now you know I have combination skin with occasional breakouts. At times we all try and layer products as many as we can or want to thinking more is always better. It is not that. You should know how to and what to layer. This is one mistake I did with the 3 products I am going to talk about and why layering these together was not the wisest decision I made. 1. Nip+Fab Exfoliate- Glycolic Fix Liquid Glow- Daily 2% This exfoliant is to be used after cleansing. Gently sweep over entire face and neck. No doubt this is a very good formula. Glyconic acid helps retexture skin and minimises the appearance of pores. It also hydrates and rejuvenates skin. Other ingredients in this are panthenol which conditions skin, lactic acid which is great for exfoliantion and hyaluronic acid for hydration. NIP+FAB - Glycolic Fix Liquid Glow Daily Tonic 2% 2. Nip+Fab Illuminate Serum Fix This serum is packed with Vitamin C. It is a powerhouse of antioxidants to leave skin bright and refreshed. Vitamin C helps with environmental damage and works well defying fine lines and wrinkles too. This serum targets uneven skin tone and brightness. NIP+FAB - Vitamin C Fix Serum 3. Dear Klairs- Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Drop This is vitamin C drop. It is also like serum. It targets dull and uneven skin. It is high in anti-oxidants. This Korean skin product is immensely hydrating and leaves skin feeling soft. It is formulated with ingredients that are non-irritating to sensitive skin. It minimises appearance of pigmentations and smoothens the pores. dear, klairs - Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Drop All these products and ingredients are great at its own. Though, it did take a toll on my skin when I used all three of them together. As you can see all three of them have very similar features and ingredients that target dull and lifeless skin, hydrate it, smooths fine lines and works on uneven tones. My mistake was to use all 3 together for triple action. Sadly, it did not work that way. It over stressed my skin as too many ingredients and excess of some ingredients were at work every night and morning. Yes, I used it twice a day. Even if you stick to the two Nip+Fab products I feel would do better for your skin.

Lazy Day Skin Fixer Elixer
Lazy Day Skin Fixer Elixer
Hi guys, So sometimes I get lazy with skincare like everyone of us. This does not mean I sleep with my makeup on. I do have simple yet effective method to combat lazy day skin routine. My skin is combination with occasional breakouts as you all know by now. The sole difference between this routine and my regular one is that it saves time as its fewer steps yet has powerful ingredients to keep my skin hydrated and works wonders. I discovered this routine through my cousin who is not as much into skincare regime as me and has found lesser way to combat the laziness and yet keep her skin flawless. The products work well with my skin type and i must say they will work well with sensitive skin and normal skin types too. I have been doing this routine for 2 months now. It has worked well. The only issue I have is with the one of the products which is to be used no more than 2 times a week it does not let me become lazy for more than twice a week. Nip + Fab Retinol Fix Booster Extreme Firstly, I splash warm tap water on my face to open up the pores and cleanse it. Pat dry and apply 2-3 drops of this booster serum on my face. I pat it on my face and not rub it. Gently massage it on face and neck. This serum is an extreme concentration of retinoid, aloe vera and skin replenishing complex. A potent 0.3% of retinoid combined with powerhouse of other ingredients promotes cell turn over while you sleep. Sleep is when your skin repairs itself. It is anti-ageing and smooths fine lines too. Improves elasticity and skin tone too. One should apply this only couple of times a week. Its extreme formula is not meant for more than that per week. NIP+FAB - Retinol Fix Booster Extreme Laneige- Water Sleeping Mask Tina from Laneige tells us that sleeping mask is not like daily night cream. It is an emergency skin booster which can be used once or twice a week. It is not recommended for everyday use due to its potency. Saying that, it works well with my lazy day skin routine. After cleansing with warm water and applying my retinoid serum i apply my Laneige sleeping mask. I use my small spatula and apply generously all over my face. I sometimes use it on my neck as well if it feels dry. And i leave it overnight. This formula recharges and rehydrates skin. This is gel based mask with 6 moisture minerals which makes skin feel refreshed and revitalised in the morning. LANEIGE - Water Sleeping Mask
