Stop wasting money on acne patches!!!
Acne patches like Starface (which retail for $15) and Peace Out ($19) are SO OVERPRICED. The mark up on those little things is insane!
So let’s talk Hydrocolloid bandages! They’re the generic version of acne patches. Same technology, same result, a fraction of the price! These bandages pull out the moisture from a blemish overnight and it works like magic!
I have been getting breakouts on my chin recently (probably from mask wearing) and I had a MASSIVE underground zit that I couldn’t pop and just wouldn’t go away. I applied a dot of Clearasil - Rapid Rescue Spot Treatment Cream and then cut a small square piece of hydrocolloid bandage. After one night I noticed a difference and in 3 nights the spot was GONE! I also love that you can see the bandage turn white as it pulls out the fluid.
So stop wasting your money and go grab Band-aid brand hydrocolloid bandages for $3.99 instead!

I’m SHOCKED! 😧
I cannot believe how incredibly well this spot treatment works!
I have been getting frustrating unpoppable zits (which I call underground zits because they feel so deep beneath the skin) the last few weeks and reached my breaking point. I did a little research on effective solutions and opted for a spot treatment method rather than a salycylic acid face wash or mask.
I put a dab of this on the spot and cover it with a hydrocolloid bandage (cheap version of an acne spot patch) and LIKE MAGIC the spot decreases in pain and size. After just 3 nights of this treatment my zit is GONE! I’m so happy!!!
I love that this product is phthalate free and only ONE active ingredient: 10% Benzoyl Peroxide.
Things I don’t love about this product: Isopropylparaben, butylparaben, isobutylparaben.

Breakup Letter to Pimple Patches of yesteryear
Dearest,
I loved you all, I hoped for the best but I just can’t do it anymore. I didn’t wanna grow up, after all I’m a beauty junkie but we’re in a recession and desperate times....LET GO
COSRX - Cosrx Acne Pimple Master Patch , I love you but move aside. Clearasil - Overnight Spot Patches 18 Count, you’re a staple but lord you are expensive with no added benefit aside from sucking whiteheads away. peach slices Acne Spot Dots Facial Treatment - 30 Patchespeach slices - Acne Spot Dots , it’s time for a heart to heart....I only buy and use you when there’s nothing else on the shelf. You were kind to me but, you’re a backup at best. PEACE OUT Acne Healing DotsPEACE OUT - Acne Healing Dots , Sephora you tried it! You sure did and I fell for it because well you’re product is great but it’s highway robbery and “mama ain’t raise no fool” 🤣 20 patches for 20.00? Cute but we’re in a recession so it pains me to say but PEACE OUT! 💅🏾 Peter Thomas Roth GLB Blemish Clear Invisible DotsPETER THOMAS ROTH - Acne-Clear Invisible Dots , you literally burnt my skin, left me with dark spots which just covered over my pimples, leaving me with mutant acne and dark spots. Oh yea, your patches don’t Stick......Expensive and damaging, no thank you sweetie.
NOW for the coup d'éta
alba BOTANICA - Acne Pimple Patch My holy grail! Why? Well keep reading⬇️:
1. Cost: 7.00
2. Patch’s provided: 40 (mixed sizes)
3. Visibility: I’m black so nothing is transparent but this is the closest to it.
4. Stickiness: It will not budge.
5. Effectiveness: Two days and my CYSTIC hormonal chin acne was Ghost 😱.
6. Healing: Tea tree, witch hazel, lentil and parsley.
Thank you very much I’m a fan for sure FYI I’ve tried most of the popular pimple patches available and the hunt is still on. I believe that certain patches are great for certain acne and there is no shame in having a stock pile of several patches for several occasions.

Bye bye pimples
So I’ve recently tried out Clearasil - Overnight Spot Patches and so far I can say they are good they do reduces the swelling and redness of the pimple itself. It also isn’t to noticeable on your skin too much maybe in certain lightings. These patches work best for me and my skin type but I always recommend doing your own research and see what will work best for your skin
I also tried the VERSED - NIX IT Complexion Solution I only used it twice and I’m not sure about it. It is so hard to get out of the package and get out the product. I heard they are working on it but not worth the $12 for me because it’s so annoying to sit there and try to get the product out.
Overall, patches work better for me but there are sooo many alternatives to choose from so do your research before purchasing and choose something based off of what your skin needs. If you have any questions feel free to ask 😊😊

I need help!!
I don't know what these scabs are all from - but I guess it's from cystic acne right? I think I might've spread the infection to my nose by picking at the one on my chin (the red spot), which has been switching between healing and being infected for a few years. So I guess I have cystic acne then, right? What are some products that help? I appreciate anyone helping me !! ❤️❤️
A few things to add:
I do have one hole on my chin right near that big red one, which sometimes is a blackhead and other times is just there infected I guess. The red spot on my left nostril oozes this yellowy stuff, same with my chin, and becomes a scab and the flakes if that cyst is disrupted/picked at/if the skin tears or moves (both of the cysts tend to hurt a lot and ooze a lot because they're on spots of my face that move a lot. I wouldn't have such a big problem if these were on my forehead or cheek)
Some products I have for acne & redness:
Clearasil - Daily Clear Vanishing Acne Treatment Cream
Glossier. - Solution Exfoliating Skin Perfector
Clean&Clear - Advantage Acne Spot Treatment
Murad - Blemish Control Rapid Relief Spot Treatment
Aveeno - Clear Complexion Foaming Cleanser
Glossier. - Super Pure Niacinamide + Zinc Serum
The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%

I need something to keep my skin calm
Ok so it seems like I have rosacea since my cheeks are basically always red and I have all the symptoms, plus I always get these painful bumps and acne on my chin. I'm assuming they're cystic acne since I've had acne like this on my chin for a few years now. They take forever to go away and I currently have three now on my chin. Any good products to try that help with rosacea and cystic acne? (they can be different products - as in it doesn't have to be one to treat both) Thanks!!
Good things to know/ PS:
I have combo (oily & dry) skin, sensitive skin (especially with dyes/perfumes), and my face burns easily. I use the Clearasil - Daily Clear Vanishing Acne Treatment Creamevery day or every other day on my cysts and it seems to work but I think I need something that works faster. Also, I have the Glossier. - Super Pure Niacinamide + Zinc Serumfor redness which I didn't know I could use it for that. (thanks @jassintadoe)
Thanks!!

Rate my routine!
Hey everybody!
I recently joined this app and I’m so happy I did. I just started using these products on my normal to oily skin. Before this, I used to use DIFFERIN - Daily Refreshing Cleanser and OXY - Acne Medication With Benzoyl Peroxidebut I felt like it wasn’t doing the job. The first slide is my daily and nightly routine. The second slide is the face masks I use about once a week. I also use DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel as a spot treatment, but I forgot to include it in the photo🤦♀️. The pads in the second slide only come in handy if I have a major breakout on my face (they do the job) and I only use the pad in that area. Otherwise, the Clearasil - Rapid Rescue Deep Treatment Pads are too strong for me and sting.
Please give me all of your feedback! I love hearing from others and I want to make sure I’m on the right track❤️

learning to love baths?
trying to become a bath person this coming year! anyone have any tips?
used this bargain bath bomb yesterday — super vivid color, no staining, very light chocolate scent. (also tagging some of the skincare stuff i’m using these days, but that routine needs an update...)
what do you love about baths? what would you recommend to someone who wants to enjoy them more? 🛁

Breakouts? Purging? Gone for $4!
With college starting up again, it wasn’t just the workload that was a problem: I was breaking out from stress! But whenever I have a breakout, I use the Clearasil - Rapid Rescue Deep Treatment Wash
But first, lets talk about Salicylic Acid:
Salicylic acid is an acid that helps break down dirt and can clean the pores. Its pretty common in lots of skincare products now.
This cleanser has a pretty high amount of salicylic acid in it= 2%. While it may not seem like much at first, it is one of the highest percentages of salicylic acid in a cleansers from what i had seen (for reference the Clinique Acne Cleanser <which I got a lot to say about that one, but ill save that for another post> has 1% of salicylic acid) This makes it a pretty strong cleanser, and therefore you should use with caution
Salicylic acid might not be the best for sensitive skin, and this cleanser advises to avoid the eye area because the skin there is very delicate. Salicylic acid can be a bit drying, but a good moisturizer and a hydrating serum (like hyaluronic acid) can stop the dryness. If you use retinol, you definitely want to use a hyaluronic acid serum anyway. Salicylic Acid (along with glycolic acid, adapalene, and retinol, to name a few) may cause skin sensitivity, so be mindful of how many active products you use+ the times you use them and always wear a good sunscreen.
If you want to try it, use it on a small bit of your face, and make sure you moisturize well!
Btw: there is a bit of fragrance added in, but because the cleanser isnt on for long and not very noticeable, I dont personally mind. Cetearyl alcohol is in here too, but it’s not as drying and bad for skin than other types of alcohols (cough Clinique). Salicylic acid is a bit drying though, but even with dry skin, you can hydrate well.
How I use this:
I use a regular face soap to cleanse my skin, and on certain days where I notice I have a breakout, I’ll also do the Clearasil cleanser. A little goes a long way, and after massaging it in a little, I’ll actually leave it on. I only leave it on for a very short period, think a minute or two, and then wash it off.
I had a skin purging recently on my face, and I used the cleanser on the area. After washing it off, I saw a big difference and the bumps weren’t as apparent. I used my moisturizer and used sunscreen during the day, and noticed that because of the cleanser, I wasn’t having as strong looking purging. I had some body acne on my shoulder, which this cleanser also got rid of, making it an option for people to use if they find this cleanser too strong for their faces!
Overall, I would rate this because of how well it works. Its $4 which is really good, and it lasts a long time. I recommend this to people who want a quick way to control acne, as long as they use other products (like hydrating and sunscreen) with it!

HELP! Huge Pores and Cystic Acne
Hello all! These are the first pictures of my skincare journey. I amjust starting out with actually building a routine, working with what’s tagged in the last pic (My skin is a little red, today was clay mask day 😝)
Summer weather wrecks havoc on my oily combo skin. The pores on my cheeks are HUGE, especially on the less acne prone side (first pic). I get a lot of hormonal cystic acne on my cheeks and chin. I take Spironolactone and BC but they don’t help much anymore ☹️.
If you have any recommendations or pointers, they would be greatly appreciated!!!

Here are the few products that currently are working for me:
Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Gel-Cream Fav moisturizer, just bought the SPF version to try!
Queen Helene - Mint Julep Masque My fav mask for acne and redness.
Aveeno - Clear Complexion Sheer Daily Moisturizer SPF 30 This version leaves my skin oily. However, the non-SPF version is fantastic, and is a fav for winter.
AZTEC SECRET - Indian Healing Clay Improves pore size and acne, can be a tad drying.

Hyaluronic Acid, I know this works 100%
Ok Guys, If you are using any anti acne medication then using Hyaluronic acid is super Important.
Remember, when I had cystic acne and I was usingClearasil - Ultra Extra Strength Acne Treatment Cream it dried my skin so much it felt like paper. That’s when I started using The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 and it rescued my skin. My skin felt like skin again. Ever since then I have continued using it with The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and it has worked well for me.
I mix half The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 and halfThe Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% in the bottle so that I don’t have many steps.

Cystic acne gone!!!!!
It was such a hard time. The first photo is also a lot better compared to how my face was before. I didn’t even click any bare face photos as it was so bad, I would avoid looking myself in the mirror and meeting peoples. I never thought acne could literally mess your life up. Most importantly besides skin care products, I changed my diet as well.

Clearasil Acne/Oil Control Wipes
I have been dealing with oily skin for a while now so I was so excited when I was recommended to try out these wipes. It was so disappointing because I have been looking for a product to help control my oily skin. These wipes have definitely not helped improve my skin at all. I have never tried any products from clearasil and I probably never will. I cannot speak of the brand as a whole but I can say that these wipes were disappointing for someone who actually has oily skin. I don’t think anyone with oily skin should waste their money on these wipes because they don’t work and I have tried them for almost two months and it has had no affect on my skin.

Skin care journey
I used to cleanse my face sporadically. I felt like the process wasn't working. Really I didn't stick to the routine. I go through this routine twice a day, starting with the soap ending with the moisturizer. It helped me so much. It works quickly and if you stick to a routine if you have basic skin you can expect to see the result within a least two weeks.
Moisturizer isn't listed but it is Clean and clear Johnson Johnson dual-action moisturizer.

Go through my Skin Cabinet with me! 🧖♀️
First, let’s start with my favorite products of the bunch!
The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution If you’ve seen some of my earlier posts you know I love this chemical exfoliant! It has really helped to make my skin appear brighter.
tarte - Babassu Foundcealer Skincare Foundation SPF 20 I have been using this one for probably a little over a year now and I love it! Not only does it have SPF in it but it sits nicely on my dry skin and it’s honestly quite the perfect match for my skin tone.
schmidt's - Lavender + Sage Deodorant Stick I’ve also given this product its own review post so check it out for more info but so far this has been the only natural deodorant that has worked for me! It also smells amazinggg.
Now onto some of my least favorite products of the bunch:
Neutrogena - MoistureShine Lip Soother SPF 20 I bought this while looking for one of those clear lip glosses that just look SO GOOD on Instagram. Unfortunately, it didn’t turn out to look so good & was too sticky.
sun bum - Sunscreen Spray-Fragrance Free SPF 50 I wanted a mineral sunscreen spray that I could easily re-apply while out and about so I picked up this fragrance free one by Baby Bum (it’s made for babies). I’m not a fan however because it does not apply nicely, has a white cast & is difficult to get off the skin at the end of the day.
e.l.f. - Happy Hydration Cream The cream itself feels nice & keeps my skin hydrated, however it has plastic in it. I’m using it for now, but once it’s done I will not be replacing it🙅🏻♀️
Maybe you can tell 🤔 but here is how organized from top to bottom:
Products I occasionally use - products like The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution & SPA SCIENCES - SIMA I alternate between once a week to exfoliate. The Aquaphor - Aquaphor Healing Ointment & Clearasil - Overnight Spot Patches I use whenever I have a white head I need to get rid of & help heal afterwords.
Makeup - I only use these when I wear makeup, which has been rarely these days
Skincare - these products I use daily!
I began using skincare products around the age of 14/15, so like 6-7 years ago but I admittedly did not get very much into it until this past year. Better late then never! What’s your skin cabinet look like?
