BODY SCRUB VS. GLOVES
exfoliating your body regularly has many benefits; it helps to promote blood circulation, shed dry skin cells, unclog pores among other great things! it is certainly something i partake in 1-2 a week. however, there are so many methods to use, which one is the most effective? which reigns supreme, you may ask? here i am going to review two different methods i have used and explain which ones i prefer and why! 1. body scrubs!💗 most recently, i have been using the FRENCH GIRL - Rose Sea Polish Smoothing Treatment and previously used the SOAP & GLORY - Smoothie Star Breakfast Scrub and SOAP & GLORY - Call of Fruity Summer Scrubbing Cooling Body Scrub . the french girl scrub honestly does not cut it for me, it has one of my favourite smells and using it leaves a wonderful almost residue of rose-scented oil on my skin after washing away but it seriously lacks in its scrub-ability. the formula is a tad dry, and doesn’t spread well but adding water almost makes it disintegrate in your hand! soap & glory on the other hand makes INCREDIBLE and effective body scrub in various smells, you just take a palmful of it (not under direct water) and gently massage it into your skin, leaving it super smooth! i will note, using exfoliants like this (particularly soap & glory’s sugar-based scrub) can be a little harsh and you run the risk of causing micro tears in your skin. this is certainly a downside of body scrubs, but i find as long as i am gently applying them that i love them and have no issues! 2. exfoliating gloves!💗 (mine are #Quo - Fuschia Exfoliating Gloves[products]#[FiveStars] that I purchased for $3.99 CAD) i think that using exfoliating gloves are a much safer option than body scrubs for multiple reasons. first, you can choose what you are exfoliating your body with! these particular ones are made with nylon, and you can select your favourite body wash and go to town! i like using a non-scented body wash for my lady part’s sake and so i am being as gentle to my skin as possible. you can be as gentle or harsh as you want, as using the gloves allow you to select how intensely you exfoliate a little better than pre-made body scrubs that can often have inconsistent or too-harsh exfoliating pieces in them. i will note with these guys that you should be removing them to dry from your shower so they do not grow bacteria and replace them every few months!!! so there is it! body scrubs and exfoliating gloves are both great ways to treat your body to a nice exfoliation once or twice a week. it all really depends on what you are seeking from the product and how sensitive your skin is. hope you enjoyed! :) feel free to follow here and on my IG @chloebrk.mua #cheriecreator

SHOWER TOUR
Hi guys! I thought it might be fun to give you a tour of some of the staples, as well as some new things I tried for fun, in my shower!! I plan on reviewing the products first, then in a separate post some of the tools I use! FIRST PHOTO: Neutrogena - Anti-Residue Gentle Clarifying Shampoo I love this shampoo as a once-a-week cleanse to remove any buildup on my scalp. Only disadvantage is there is a fairly strong soap smell that lingers. #Eucerin - Complete Repair Cleanser[products]#[FourStars] I LOVE!!!! this as a body wash and facial cleanser. It is fragrance and soap-free so I know I’m taking care of my special bits. Only disadvantage is that Eucerin is not cruelty-free so I am trying to find a dupe. #Marc Anthony - Grow Long Repairing Anti-Breakage Mask[products]#[FourStars] This mask smells pleasant and is nice to use once or twice a week to smoothen my hair. I wouldn’t say it is super effective with regards to growing hair though. FRENCH GIRL - Rose Sea Polish Smoothing Treatment This scrub smells heavenly and looks so pretty on my shelf but it dissolves fairly quickly in water and the formula is super dry so using it without water also isn’t an option. I prefer using exfoliating gloves (as I will review in a future post!) SECOND PHOTO: ogx - Orchid Oil Shampoo + ogx - Orchid Oil Conditioner I love this combo for gently washing my colour-treated hair. It has a wonderful light floral scent and it foams nicely. The conditioner, however (as I’ve found with all ogx conditioners) doesn’t feel like it is thick or moisturizing enough. ogx - Liquid Pearl Shampoo + ogx - Liquid Pearl Conditioner Similar gig to the Orchid Oil line but is more efficient at smoothing and adding shine with a light and aquatic (?) scent. Same issue as the other ogx conditioner. i hope you enjoyed ;) please be sure to follow here and on my IG @chloebrk.mua #cheriecreator

CLEAN French Girl Lip Scrub
French Girl’s Rose Lip Polish does wonders to exfoliate lips, leaving them soft and smooth. The sugar is mixed with shea butter and cocoa, as well as coconut oil and other essential oils, to buff but also moisturize lips. The subtle mint extract adds a tingle that leaves your lips slightly plumper as well and a delicious after taste. The pink hue in the soft scrub comes from beet juice powder, all natural ingredients. I love this lip scrub so much and constantly use it before applying my favorite lip balms or matte lipsticks. It leaves a smooth surface but never dry and just tastes so dang good. I would definitely recommend this scrub and recommend using it 2-3 times a week. There’s nothing harmful in it and it is a decent size for the price, $18.FRENCH GIRL - Rose Lip Polish

I’d rather get coal than the FrenchGirl Cleanser

French Girl Organics is one of those brands that has built their marketability on the ~aesthetic~ kind of like Glossier. So like a sucker, when I found this at TJ Maxx for $9.99, I was thrilled to try out a cool new brand for so cheap. Turns out, I was excited for nothing. The Fleur de Neroli Charcoal Cleansing Wash claimed to bring back my skin to “its natural radiance and gently remove impurities” with charcoal, tea tree, and jojoba oil. This sounds awesome if you have oily skin but in reality, it was anything but. First, the smell was awful. It’s a really earthy, potent smell that I could not get over. Also, the product would just disappear as soon as you tried to wash your face. I recognize that it’s non-foaming, but I literally had to use so much product to wash my face even halfway decently. Even then, it did not remove make up at all. Also, I’m pretty sure the tea tree oil in it broke me out. My face is pretty sensitive to it. Overall, 0/5. I would not recommend this product, even at such a low price tag.
