Please critique my skincare routine!
Disclaimer: very new to this app, not exactly sure if i’m doing this right 😂 I was hoping that a kind soul could give me some feedback on my skincare routine! I’m not sure whether or not to add or remove any of these, so any help is much appreciated! Step 1: To cleanse, I use the Murad - Clarifying Cleanser ! On days I wear makeup, I do a double cleanse adding sulfur soap since it’s much gentler on the skin. I do one cleanse in the morning, and two at night. This process sometimes does leave my skin feeling a bit dry, especially after a double cleanse, but on their own, have worked wonders for treating my pesky mask acne :) Step 2: I use the SK-II - Facial Treatment Clear Lotion Toner I dab it on a soft face towel and use it on my T zone, as well as any acne spots I have. I absolutely looove this product and have definitely seen results as described, other than my minor breakouts here and there Step 3: I use the SK-II - Facial Treatment Essence (Pitera Essence) For this, I do a couple shakes and pat all over my face. I’ve read a lot of mixed reviews about this product, and whether or not it’s just a gimmick, but since using this product, I have rarely had excessively dry or oily skin, and it has definitely evened out my skin tone, and (before covid/mask wearing) minimized pores! Step 3: (Alternate) I couldn’t find product information on here, but now and then I will use the Ambre Blends Skin Tonic. This is a local Midwest company that started as a fragrance line that I have been wearing for years! I tried the skin tonic when they first released during a time when my skin was extremely dry and flaky. It gave me soooo much hydration and the smell is absolutely amazing! However, it wasn’t so great at keeping my breakouts to a minimum, and I haven’t been able to tell which ingredients caused that. They pride themselves on natural ingredients and I included a slide of the contents of the bottle! Step 4: For under eye serum, I use L'OCCITANE - Immortelle Divine Eye Cream I have extremely dark circles, and I decided to give this a try and it definitely has reduced them a bit! It’s a very soothing and light cream, but I do wish it showed better results! I do this entire routine twice a day, and so far it has seemed to work out for me! I still go through periods of oily skin, and lately with having to wear a mask all the time, my pores have appeared a lot larger :( I also have a constant battle with maskne, but I do occasionally use acne patches ( Rael - MIRACLE PATCH ) The last slide also shows the product I use when I do an occasional face mask. I try to keep this to a minimum, at least 2-3 times a month. I’ve never had better results than the ELEMIS - Papaya Enzyme Peel !

Empty and Newbie - Pimple Patch Comparison
I love the hydracolloidal bandages from Mighty Patch HERO COSMETICS - Mighty Patch Original for Madewell . You just stick them on an active break out or white head and they almost disappear overnight. In fact, I’ve gone through several boxes over the past few months.. They’re not as affordable as some drugstore brands like Cosrx but they suck out more gunk. They’re a thicker bandage and I even got them in the larger size. They’re definitely meant for nighttime wear. You can really see the results. I was about to repurchase them again but I saw these Rael patches Rael - MIRACLE PATCH also have excellent reviews and I bought— I kid you not— a pack of 96 (!!!) for $16. I’ve used them and I think they are actually better than mighty patch. They’re much thinner and I couldn’t even see it after I put it on my skin. It totally disappeared. I think I may be a convert because I could definitely wear these to work and feel comfortable that no one would see them. They also seem to have an equal strength of gunk-sucking — gross, but wonderful. I recommend both. Swipe for comparison.

My first week trying out Rael Pimple Patches!
OK SO... I was skeptical of these when they first launched and I thought i’d never in my life purchase something like them. Flash forward to several months, my mask acne is off the charts, my fidgeting self cannot stop picking, popping, and touching, and my cleansers just aren’t cutting it with the pesky spots.... so I caved and purchased my first pack of pimple patches on amazon for about $16. I realize now that I could’ve gotten them cheaper somewhere like target, but with the advertised “high grade hydrocolloid” and highly rated reviews, and 96 patches!!, I went with the Rael brand. PRO: A week in, I’ve slapped these bad boys on every new little spot i’ve found on my face, specifically my chin/jaw, and went about my day. The nice thing is that I can wear them all day long and my mask can just cover them right up. They’re also clear and once pressed on, completely blend in with your skin! I had a tiny whitehead starting to form one morning and at the end of the day, it looked HUGE under the patch, so I pulled the sticker off and watched the entire FULL white head come out like a tiny string... gross, I know, BUT it really did pull the entire thing out absolutely painlessly! I honestly wish I would’ve taken a video as proof but it was honestly pretty nasty. But the spot is already cleared up! I was so amazed! In the past i’ve had a really bad habit of popping my whiteheads with my fingers, which never truly gets the full thing out and ultimately never heals, gets painful, and leaves scarring :( So these are great for a CLEAN and PAINLESS way to fully extract them! Rael - Spotless Skin Kit CON: I do have a small problem with the patches, though, which I honestly cannot tell if it’s due to my own wrongdoing or just the product itself, but once these spots have healed, I wake up the morning after with a ring of dry flaky skin where the patch once was. I usually fix it with a cleanse and moisturize but it definitely freaked me out at first. Maybe this is due to my skin reacting to hydrocolloids? I can’t recall a product I’ve used that has contained this ingredient so I’m wondering if it’s just my skin having a weird reaction. Or maybe i’m using them too often? I have had a couple spots where I’ve put a patch on the same effected area for a couple days in a row. These have been my red pimples that are much more painful, but with the patches they have definitely gone down in swelling with each day. All in all, I think this product is wonderful for the times. I would not recommend swapping it for your regular routine PLEASE, but they are good for quick removal/extraction in terms of whiteheads/other minor buildup acne. I don’t know if I would recommend these for the kind of nodule/cystic acne as that’s a much bigger ballpark that probably requires more care and treatment, but they have posed well for the pesky stuff I get here and there!

Sheet mask is an instant solution
I don't use sheet masks often but sometimes they have good ingredients in their serum/essences and these sheet masks fit in there. Who doesn’t like the cooling, soothing feel of sheet masks? I do. But, I find sheet masks to be an extra unnecessary step in our skincare routine. It is most definitely an instant solution and not a long term one. Unless, you’re using the same sheet mask / serum it contains, everyday for weeks. Which I believe isn’t a feasible and an affordable option. Don’t forget the waste it creates! Well, if you have to use sheet masks or love the therapeutic experience, these sheet masks are a good option 😊⬇️ I got these Vital Hydra solution sheet mask by @drjart Dr. Jart+ - Dermask Water Jet Vital Hydra Solution and it was kindly gifted to me by @cherie . They sent me some more goodies in Cherie Creator box and this was one of the heaviest and luxurious items. This comes in a box which contain 5 sheets masks. Each sheet mask is heavy and has a lot of serum to cover your face. I really enjoyed using these as they instantly plumped my skin and it was looking hydrated. Their claims : These are made with fine cellulose fiber to help active ingredients penetrate deeply for ultimate hydration. It contains aquaxyl and xylitol to enhance moisture retention and strengthen the skin's barrier by preventing water loss. Oligo-hyaluronic acid and algae extract supports long-lasting moisturization and supports natural collagen synthesis to keep your skin looking and feeling hydrated and completely refreshed. My experience : This is super hydrating, more like you get instant plumpness and bounce to your skin. Although I didn't see any long time results with this apart from getting rid of dullness. Another mask I purchased to target dullness is @raelbeauty Vitamin C sheet masks Rael - Vitamin C Sheet Mask Rael - Vitamin C Sheet Mask I really loved the packaging of this one. This also comes in box of 5 sheet masks and each mask is heavy. These masks are made with brightening Pomegranate Fruit Extract, exfoliating Fig Fruit Extract, and age-defying Citrus Fruit Extract. I looked into ingredients list and these extracts are pretty low on the list. Although it has great humectants such as glycerin and Soldium hyaluronate in first three ingredients. It also has Niacinamide high on the list. I found these to be slightly brightening and hydrating. Another masks featured in this photo : @naiisinclondon Thirsty hand - Hand sheet masks (They're amazing ti hydrate dry hands) .INC. - Shine Bright Moisturising & Anti-Aging Hand Mask @avant Eye patches

One I Hate and One That’s Great
Two new products I was excited about: Origins Super Spot Remover: I had been getting a few pimples, mostly just a couple little barely noticeable ones but I also had a big one coming up on my cheek. I was so excited to try this as I had heard good things. I used it twice a day for about three or four days. Now I know that’s not a lot of time for other types of treatments but I expect at least SOME positive results within a day or two but I got none. There was absolutely no change. ORIGINS - Super Spot Remover Acne Treatment Gel Rael Calm + Collected Facial Mist: I had been looking for a nice facial mist for hydration and to use in my 10+ step Korean beauty routine when I felt a need for it. A lot of facial mists claim to be hydrating but the ingredients include alcohol and witch hazel which can be drying. This mist’s key ingredients include: Hyaluronic Acid Vitamin B5 (anti-static, moisturizing) Glycerin (moisturizing, solvent) Aloe Vera Flower Extract (emollient, moisturizing) Trehalose (moisturizing) Allantoin (anti-inflammatory, soothing) Caprylyl Glycol (emollient, moisturizing, skin conditioning) Ethylhexylglycerin (preservative, surfactant) These are not the ONLY ingredients but they are the key ingredients. According to another app I use that helps identify ingredients, irritants, hormonal disrupters and carcinogens in cosmetics and skincare products (it’s called Good Face in case you’re interested) it lists two possible allergens which are • Limonene: a fragrance and solvent. Under “safety concerns” it lists allergen and irritant. The other possible allergen is • Citrus Nobilis (Mandarin Orange) Peel Oil: used as an astringent, for skin conditioning and masking. Under “safety concerns” it is listed as a possible allergen. It also lists two possible irritants which are • Limeonene: (see above) and • Butylene Glycol: a solvent. Under “safety concerns” it lists it as a possible irritant. The facial mist is also said to have bamboo extract, is “clean”, vegan and made without synthetic fragrance, artificial dyes, parabens, PEGs, phenoxyethanol, mineral oil, silicones, sulfates or phthalates. I think it is nice, light and with a smidge of creamy texture that you can rub in if you like. It doesn’t take a lot to give you a some moisture. I haven’t used it a lot yet but so far, I like it. rael microneedle acne healing patches
key ingredients: tea tree oil/totarol - tea tree oil is a natural antiseptic with antibacterial and anti inflammatory properties that both soothe and heal skin. totara bark extract, nature’s super antioxidant, is 3 times as strong as vitamin e at fading scars effectively quickly. salicylic acid - salicylic acid is proven to be an effective skin care ingredient because of the way it penetrates into the skin and dissolves any debris inside your pores. it’s also naturally derived from willow bark which is known to heal and soothe skin. this acid can also help with any inflammation and redness of a blemish. hyaluronic acid - hyaluronic acid keeps damaged skin moisturized and helps prevent any over-drying (over-drying is bad for blemishes and can actually make them worse because of the irritation it causes) or scaling while the skin heals. what it claims to do: this product claims to reduce any inflammation and redness with microneedle technology. these patches are designed with tiny microneedles that prick the skin (don’t worry it doesn’t hurt at all!), allowing the active ingredients to dive deeper into the skin. this product is recommended for any below the skin pimples that don’t have a head. my experience: i had an under the skin pimple that i was bugging me, so i decided to buy these patches and use them on it. i had high hopes for this product but sadly i was disappointed by the fact that i’ve used up about 5-6 patches (the patches were from a different packet, not the ones in the 2nd slide) and i woke up each time to find that my blemish was the same. i did notice that the patches did seem to reduce the redness, not by much though. it also left a clear, slimy residue where i left the patch on, but i think that’s because the needles melted. however, despite the fact that these patches didn’t work for me, i’ve seen and read many positive reviews that these actually worked for them and overnight as well! they’ve also claimed that the size and redness was reduced by at least 70%. if you are wondering whether you should purchase these or not, i would say yes. even though they didn’t work on me, it’s important to keep in mind that everybody’s skin is different and that these might work wonders for you!
