I Tried 4 Vegan-Cruelty Free Cleansing Oils
Hey, I’m Kay. I’m a 27 year old female with skin as dry as the Sahara and as sensitive as a baby’s bum. I have no idea what the heck I’m doing, but I thought it would be educational, if not, comical to document me finding my 100% “clean” skincare routine. Back story: I have eczema prone skin that cracks, peels and sometimes stings if I don’t feed it moisturizer every hour. I live in the Windy City of Chicago and that alone should explain why my face sucks. Oh, and did I mention I’m Vegan?! A Vegan, eczema, dry, sensitive baby bum here. Welcome. Step 1: Cleansing Oils #1 BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Antioxidant Cleansing Oil $30 / 6.8 fl oz. Biossance is a 100% Vegan-Cruelty free company, so naturally I had to try their products. This oil in particular is made with sugarcane derived squalane as opposed to shark liver extracted squalane! How ah-mazing is that!? This oil has a very light smell, but removes my makeup without irritating my skin. I’ve been using this and the Tatcha one now for 3 months and I must say I love them both, but for the price point and same result...this is my first choice! Fun fact: This product is vegan, cruelty-free, and gluten-free, and comes in recyclable packaging. #2 TATCHA - Pure One Step Camellia Oil Cleanser $48 / 5.1 fl oz. The holy grail and rightfully so! This oil is just wow. (I know, I’m late) This product has no smell (IMO) and melted my face & eye makeup away with ease and left no greasy residue behind like some of the other cleansing oils I’ve tried. Honestly, If it weren’t for the almost $20 price difference; this for sure would be my #1! Fun fact: This product is 1 of 15 Vegan products Tatcha has to offer. However, ALL products from Tatcha are Cruelty Free! 🚫🐰 #3 pai - Light Work Rosehip Cleansing Oil $49 / 3.3 fl oz. Holy Scent. This product is scented to the gawds. After getting over the nauseating smell, I would say this cleansing oil actually performed pretty well. It removed my makeup and left my skin feeling the most hydrated afterwards. However, that’s pretty irrelevant to me being that this is a pre-cleansing step. But, If you’re okay with spending extra moolah, engulfing rosehip oil and you wear heavy makeup. This might be for you! Fun Fact: Pai is certified by the Vegan society & Leaping Bunny cruelty-free society. #4 JULEP - Love Your Bare Face Cleansing Oil $22 / 3.5 fl oz. What...the...heck This product disappointed me more than my ex. Even worse, I didn’t see this one coming! The reviews online RAVE about this product, but for me, it couldn’t even take the makeup off of my hands, let alone off of my face! Though this cleansing oil isn’t as scented as the Pai one, it definitely still has a moderate scent. This one also left a greasy residue. Maybe it didn’t pair well with my foundation? Either way, “Issa no for me dawg”. Fun fact: This product will NOT be receiving my coin again.

My fave Cleansing oil
It’s official: it’s cold in Southern California. Well, cold for us. I put the heater on today and ran a fire. While that is nice and cozy, it’s not good for the skin. It’s time to switch to oil cleansing - my favorite is JULEP - Love Your Bare Face Cleansing Oil I’ve been using it since it first launched and while I’ve tried others, I always come back to this one. It effortlessly melts makeup, including my waterproof mascara, glides smoothly on my skin and rinses easily. It leaves my skin clean and supple. You can use it as step 1 in a double cleanse or in its own. This will carry me through the dry months along with alternating my CLARISMA - Cool Ocean Breeze Daily Cleanser for enzyme exfoliation, and HERBIVORE - Pink Cloud Rosewater + Tremella Creamy Jelly Cleanser when I want a little foamy cleanse in the am. KEY INGREDIENTS for cleansing, renewing, hydrating and anti aging - Grape Seed Oil - Olive Oil - Pink Grapefruit Peel Oil - Green Coffee Bean Oil - Rosehip Seed Oil Note - be careful of the cleansing oils you choose. Read the ingredients and be sure the formula contains high quality plant oils. Beware of cheap oils that will cause inflammation, irritation and clog pores.

Subscription boxes. Are they worth it?
Shown is Ipsy’s November Glam Bag Plus. At one time I was subscribed to around 6-7 monthly to quarterly sub boxes. I had just decided to really get into skincare and figured one way to learn more would be by sampling products. After a few months I realized I was learning more from my peers on social media and wasting A LOT of products (and makeup) that I wouldn’t use so I canceled all but one, @myfacetory Ipsy is one of the subscriptions I would have considered keeping had I not had a load of products piling up. It’s reasonably priced and you do get a fair amount of brand name products to try. I wouldn’t say I’ve been “wowed” by them as of late but again, you definitely get what you pay for GB $12 - GBP - $25 They recently added a bunch of options for your “add-on” day and if you’re quick to grab some of the good stuff, you can usually score some great products for a fraction of their price. I managed to pile up about 12 eyeshadow pallets in the year of being subscribed. Bronzers and lipsticks are the other filler item companies seem to be consistent on. If you love makeup, sub boxes are your thing! I do enjoy makeup and can get quite obsessed with it, but not as much as I do with skincare. This months Glam Bag (GB) & Glam Bag Plus (GBP) I gave all 3⭐️ as I haven’t had a chance to use them). I will say I sadly am unimpressed with GB. I’m all for discovering new brands but not for dime store products. I just feel they could do better. GBP- (pictured) Laura Geller Pallete Murad - Retinol Youth Renewal Night Cream tarte - Sugar Rush Lip Sip Vegan Lip Oil Araceli - Ojos Perfectos Liquid Eyeliner JULEP - Eyeshadow 101 Eyeshadow Stick GB- Moda Blush Brush AMELIORATE - Smoothing Body Exfoliant ciaté - Watermelon Burst Hydrating Lip Oil IBYBEAUTY - Travel Size Radiant Glow Highlighter Jonteblu felt tip eyeliner pencil I added on - GLOW RECIPE - Banana Soufflé Moisture Cream -trial size TATCHA - The Deep Cleanse Exfoliating Cleanser - trail size Kate Somerville - Goat Milk Moisturizing Cream - not quite sure what size. They forgot my add-ons so are sending them separate. So in conclusion, for me subscription boxes are no longer my thing. If you’re one to like to experiment and are not picky, nor is your face not picky about what you put on it I’d say go for it. It’s fun getting boxes every month, feels like Christmas every time and most now let you pick an item or two now. Let me know if you’re curious about a certain sub box. I’ll be sure to tell you my honest experience with them. Much ❤️🍒

Easy Eyeshadow 🤨
Here’s another Ipsy Glam Bag Plus review! Yay! I received the Julep Eyeshadow 10 Stick in “Champagne Shimmer” in my bag this month and I’m honestly not super impressed. I’m not sure if it’s the shade that’s the issue, but there is very little color payoff. The stick goes on very smoothly and the result is a pretty, verrrrry light shimmery shade, but it’s honestly hard to tell I’m even wearing it. There is a spongy little brush on the other end of the stick that I guess is meant to blend the pigment in, but all it does is basically wipe the shadow off. So, it’s kinda pointless. Overall it’s a fine, but I’m really not impressed. I do love the idea of using a really easy eyeshadow in a stick, but this one is not it. Anyone have any other suggestions?? Concealer’s For My Full Makeup Routine
Hey guys! Here is a little look at a full face routine that I do when I have the time. I love this look! When I do wear makeup I usually do this. Here is my list of products that I used for this look BECCA - Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector L.A. Girl - HD Pro Concealer -Fawn L.A. Girl - HD Pro Concealer -Reddish MAC - Mineralize Concealer -NW45 BLACK RADIANCE - True Complexion CC Palette -Medium Deep Too Faced - Born This Way Natural Finish Foundation -Tiramisu BLACK RADIANCE - True Complexion Soft Focus Finishing Powder -Milk Chocolate Finish BLK/OPL - True Skin Perfecting Stick Foundation 15 -Ebony Brown REVOLUTION - MAKEUP REVOLUTION Loose Baking Powder -Banana Deep BLACK RADIANCE - True Complexion Contour Palette -Dark to Deep BLACK RADIANCE - Color Perfect Highlighter Palettes -Sunkissed Glow SEPHORA COLLECTION - Colorful Wink-It Felt Tip Liquid Eyeliner - Waterproof ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - Dipbrow Pomade -Ebony JORDANA - Classic Lipliner Classic -Coco Loco JULEP - So Plush Ultra Hydrating Lip Gloss -Polished I ran out of my NYX - Matte Finish Makeup Setting Spray !!!! As you can see I used bullet points to emphasize the concealers I used and yeah, lol it’s four of them. I know to some it may seem like a lot but I honestly feel like I need it! Especially where my hyperpigmentation is and my under eye darkness. I’m working on my skincare routine to start from root and I’ve seen progress but it’s taking time. Tbh, these mask and being incredibly stressed have done quite a number on my skin. The BLACK RADIANCE - True Complexion CC Palette is used when I am looking for the finest detail on my face and I want an even complexion everywhere. I am usually doing a full coverage routine if I use this palette. My red tinted concealer from L.A. Girl is great for my dark marks and under the eye as well as going on top of my damn mustache (threading appointment soon, believe me). I use the other L.A. Girl concealer and my MAC concealer for highlighting. I love using them both for the pretty, light and lifted effect it gives for my eyes. I’m still working on application but I definitely see a difference when I use both. Absolutely any tips and suggestions and feedback are incredibly appreciated. Thank you!

The two products that saved my nails!
Hi pals! Today I want to share how I keep my nails in tip top shape and super strong! First and foremost, eating habits matter! If you’re not eating healthy, your nails likely will be brittle and weak, whereas if you’re eating a healthy diet, you’ll automatically be helping your nails! Apart from that, don’t bite your nails! I used to bite them whenever I was stressed when I was younger, and that led them to always being weak and breaking easily. Once I quit that habit, my nails have started growing much stronger and thicker! Now, onto the products, BURT’S BEES - Lemon Butter Cuticle Creme I love to rub this creme into my nails and cuticles about once a week, usually after using an acetone nail polish remover to add back some moisturize to my nail beds. This smells really good too and always helps my cuticles looking their best! I also don’t cut my cuticles or push them back, which also helps everything look nice and neat. JULEP - Super-Size Take A Breather Oxygen Nail Treatment this is a paint-on treatment that’s supposed to add back oxygen and moisture to your nails, and though i haven’t seen long term effects from this product, I always like to apply this polish after removing acrylic nails or gel polish. Usually I apply two layers and it leaves a nice pink sheen to my nails while also helping them repair the surface! Finally, I use nail cutters and a small file to keep the shape of my nails neat - make sure to only file in one direction, not back and forth to prevent any breakage! #cheriecreator #cheriepartner

Butter Lip Sheet 🧈💄
Butter Lip Sheet 🧈💄
JULEP - Way Butter Lip Sheer Currently on sale right now ladies!! 6$ from 20$. The Way Butter glides on well, provides me with a pop of color, and it is never drying! If you prefer a long-wear matte lipstick, this might not be for you, but for anyone with dry or mature lips, I recommend this Way Butter. It does have to be re-applied throughout the day, but I feel that is a tiny price to pay for a great lipstick that doesn't age one with mature lips.

My Holy Grail Hydrating Cleanser
My Holy Grail Hydrating Cleanser
This cleansing stick has and will always stay in my skincare go to’s. I’ve been using this product for about three years now and I have always found myself reaching for this product after a bad hangover the next day, when I over do a routine, or when I feel my skin needs a break from my normal routine. I advice applying the product directly to the face just because you actually get product. I like to use a konjac sponge to gently scrub in the product. If you’re concerned for bacteria, apply onto your finger tips and then apply to face. (Use a spa tool you prefer). About the product, it’s a Korean brand and if you’re into Korean skincare routine this is a good one. It has a different smell but it’s fragrance-free, you take the bad with the good. Its not an overwhelming smell and it’s something you can get use too. I’d rather have a good routine and product that actually works than have fragrance products that irritate my skin.

First time using Julep love your bare face hydrating cleaning oil... First impressing love the smell, I enjoyed the way it felt on my skin and it’s cruelty free . It also has grape seed oil, olive oil, pink grapefruit peel oil, green coffee bean oil and rosehip oil. End result ... as you can see in the picture some mascara didn’t come off completely but then again I didn’t know how much to use. So we will have to do a trial an error. However, I did like how it left my skin and it didn’t feel dry. FYI this is my first day trying double cleansing in my skin routine.
