May Lindstrom Skin The Blue Cocoon
⭐️may lindstrom skin - The Blue Cocoon It’s marketed as a product that is not only good for your skin but also good to sleep and relax, basically like aromatherapy. I was super excited to get this product and at first glance it was like opening the doors to heaven. Beautiful packaging, really minimalist but with a luxurious feel, super elegant, something you would want to show off and put on your vanity or bathroom counter. So yes, I was definitely blown away with the packaging, the description, even the box. 😊Smell: It is really overbearing at first if you’re not used to earthy, wet leaves, herbs and muddy type of smell. It is a very complicated smell but it definitely grew on me and it did relax me. ✨Consistency: It does exactly what it says; it’s a thick balm that melts right upon touch with your skin and even fingers if left too long on the hand. 💁🏼‍♀️Application: I would take less than a pea size amount and either put it in the center of my palm to then rub them together, heating and activating the product and then pressing it unto the skin; or I would rub the same amount on the tip of my fingers and then lightly apply it and again pressed it unto the skin. The problem I encountered was that the product would sort of ball up; It would leave little gritty or big particle like pieces on my skin. I tried it even alone, without any of my other products just washing and toning and it still left me with bits of something on my skin which felt weird. ✨Pros: -Smells lovely, definitely has a beautiful sensorial effect and an aromatherapy type of feel. -Melts upon touch -Would be good for extremely dry/mature skin, even though I think there are better products out there. -Packaging makes you feel special ☹️Cons: -Price is $180 for 1.69 oz. -Broke me out/clogged my pores. I thought it was a detoxing process so I kept using it but it got worse, and even caused milia on my forehead, which I have never experienced in my life. -Leaves little particles on the surface of the skin as if it doesn’t get absorbed completely. -Feels heavy on the skin ✨Conclusion I am currently returning the product as I don’t think this did anything for my skin and believe there are better alternatives out there. Kind of sad as everyone raved about it and I really wanted to like it, but it just doesn’t work for me. Xo, Jen💕

Some newbies in a silver & gold theme. ▪️Pat McGrath Skin Fetish Foundation & Primer. First impressions of the foundation is that it’s superb. Really lightweight, semi-matte in a comfortable way. The primer I’m kind of not feeling it fully but needs more testing with other foundations . ▪️Rituel de Fille Rare Light Luminizer Icebow. This was a new shade only available in a set. I normally hate buying a set for one item but I love their Rare Light Luminzers and haven’t tried the concealer yet. ▪️May Lindstrom The Blue Cocoon. I grabbed a new jar so I would have it in the fall. The free Youth Dew promo was too good to pass up. ▪️Allies of Skin Bright Future Sleeping Facial. This is the new reformulated version. No pilling 🙌 Use this for 2-3 nights in a row as a powerful brightener. ▪️Primera Miracle Seed Essence. I finally caved and grabbed it. Light slippery texture, nice glass bottle. ▪️SkinMedica TNS Ceramide Treatment Cream. This has a thick texture but it’s actually pretty light. Great for soothing and repairing. ▪️Byredo Chai Candle. Warm & spicy.

January Empties 🗑
I finished up a bunch of products last month and this month, here's the low down on what I emptied! ➕may lindstrom skin - The Jasmine Garden this will absolutely be a repurchase, but not until I finish some other mists. It's expensive but the formula and ingredients are totally worth it. I used it as a toner, when my skin needed a pick me up, or when I felt like I needed extra hydration. It is without a doubt a WANT and not a NEED, but if you want to treat yourself it's perfect! ➖ LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Duo Dual Acne Treatment i won't be picking this up again, it just wasn't effective for my skin. I think it's too expensive for what it is at $30, there are a ton of other acne treatments for cheaper that are effective. It was drying and just didn't help all breakouts clear up any quicker. It did work for deep under the skin breakouts, but again not as well as other treatments I've tried. ➕ THE inkey LIST - Polyglutamic Acid Hydrating Serum this is already in my Sephora cart to repurchase! It works really well for my combination skin and I can sometimes get away with not needing a moisturizer. For $15 it's totally worth it! ➕ THE inkey LIST - Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Serum another favorite from the inkey list! For $8 it's totally worth trying out, but also because it's the best HA! It's a thin consistency that works well with other products. It's not sticky and doesn't pill. ➕ SKINCEUTICALS - Discoloration Defense Skin Discoloration Serum this is one of my favorite serums that fights hyperpigmentation! Yes it’s expensive at $98, you’re paying for the ingredients and the skin suit aka brand. This was really effective for my PIH and I would repurchase it if it's in my budget. There are other serums that have similar ingredients and will do similar things for your skin, it really comes down to preference. This does what it says, but is expensive. ➕ SKINCEUTICALS - Phloretin Cf vitamin c is essential to my routine! I'm extremely picky about the vitamin c that I use and this is absolutely the best! It's a watery texture that sinks into the skin quickly and works well underneath other products. It didn't oxidize, but I did keep it in the fridge! It's very expensive at $166 but totally worth it in my opinion because it's so effective. ➕ SKINCEUTICALS - Phyto + Hydrating Botanical Serum With Kojic Acid addresses a couple of different concerns - hydrates, lightens and brightens. At $87 it's not cheap, but also not the most expensive Skinceuticals product. I liked this and it did it's job, but I wouldn't repurchase. If you're looking for one serum to do multiple things, then this could be it! It uses botanicals so is very gentle. I have since found other products to replace it and haven't missed it.

Facial Oil for Oily, Acne-Prone Skin
I was not a facial oil person when I first started to really invest in my skin. I knew that just because I had oily skin didn't mean I should skip the moisturizer (everyone should be moisturizing!) but I couldn't find an oil that worked really well for me and made me want to keep using it. I don't think that oil and moisturizer are interchangeable, I think both have a place in your skincare routine! I tried the The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil and could just feel it sitting on the top layer of my skin. I tried the DRUNK ELEPHANT - Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil which was expensive and didn't do much for me. I was over it! Finally while making my first May Lindstrom purchase of the Honey Mud and Problem Solver masks I chose to try a sample of the may lindstrom skin - The Youth Dew and it was magical. The brand calls it a serum, but it's the most indulgent facial oil I've tried. It's expensive at $140 but the bottle lasted me an entire year of consistent use and always felt like a treat for my skin. So what's in it? Well all the good stuff! Antioxidants, coenzyme-Q10, avocado oil, meadowfoam seed oil, borage oil, rosehip oil, evening primrose oil, jojoba oil - the list goes on and on. It's a thick, orange oil that smells botanical and beautiful. It's for acne-prone skin and helps to balance, but even those with dry skin would love this! It sinks deeply into the skin and really just makes my skin so happy and healthy! I love it and need to repurchase, but it's also made me way more open to trying other facial oils! Now I look for oils with similar ingredients and have found some other favorites - like the deviant - Facial Oil ! I apply Youth Dew at either my serum step or as my last step before SPF. If I apply it as a serum I use other hydrating mists and serums before to be sure my skin gets hydration! #CheriePartner

Luxury Skincare: did NOT solve my problems! 🚫
I waited years before getting my hand on the may lindstrom skin - The Problem Solver Correcting Mask I dealt with acne from adolescence up until I was about 22 and I remember how badly I wanted this product, thinking it would literally solve my acne problems; Fast forward a couple more years, I was actually gifted it at a work event and was super excited to give it a try! 🤩 but unfortunately that’s where my excitement ended 🙃 What I Expected: * Clarified skin * Oil control * Acne problems solved ✅ What I Got: * Over-priced product ($100 😳) * Irritated skin & dryness * Acne problems NOT solved 🥴 (so glad I didn’t purchase with my own money 💰) According to the website, “the unique formula brightens, heals inflammation and irritation, fades hyperpigmentation, stimulates collagen production, and treats and prevents breakouts.” Unfortunately, I didn’t not experience any of that. The texture of the product was slightly different in that it had a moussey like texture, unlike something I’ve experienced before. But the ingredients in the formula are really not the best for sensitive skin, and I also question it for other skin types [baking soda, cayenne pepper, sea salt, etc...] 🤔 I experienced itchiness, redness, & dryness. The instructions said to leave on for about 30-45mins but I couldn’t keep it in longer than 10 😖 This is one product I was sadly disappointed by, and would recommend using a cheaper alternative or a salicylic acid mask that can help with congestion. My recommendations * HERBIVORE - Blue Tansy Resurfacing Clarity Mask (used in the past) * HERBIVORE - Prism 20% AHA + 5% BHA Exfoliating Glow Facial (currently using) I’ve used both and was very happy with the results I got, plus they are much gentler on the skin. The blue tansy is also formulated for acne prone skin, and you can pick up a mini set from Sephora for only $24! What luxury products have you been disappointed by? 💔 #CheriePartner

REVIEW: The Clean Dirt, May Lindstrom Skin
REVIEW: The Clean Dirt, May Lindstrom Skin
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 This will definitely be a reorder. I’ve been using May’s Problem Solver mask for about 5 years now and only recently have tried some of her other products. This brightening exfoliant treatment is a true treat for the skin. I massaged on my face and then let sit for a few minutes because I was taking these photos and, well, it smells so good I wanted it on my face longer than a quick exfoliant. Ha! After I rinsed the product off (it’s recommended to do in the shower, but I did this by the sink), I waited to see how my skin felt as I read that it was great for other people who tried it and did not leave their skin feeling tight and dry, which often happens with a deep exfoliant. My skin was baby soft and DID NOT feel dry (phew!), it really is magic dust. I like to this it’s a Breath of Fresh Air for my face. Ingredients include: Red Alana Sea Salt Vitamin C Calendula Ceylon Cinnamon Tumeric Ginger
