My Favorite Korean Skincare Products
🇰🇷 Korean Skincare has been gaining traction in the U.S. over the last several years and rightfully so. Korean skincare is typically affordable, effective, focused on hydration and sun protection, and several years ahead of the U.S. in trending ingredients. My combo dry skin LOVES the focus on hydration and I personally really enjoy a longer multi step k beauty routine. I typically et my k beauty products on YesStyle, Wishtrend, Amazon, or Sephora if it’s something like Laneige or Glow a Recipe. Here’s some of my favorite K Beauty products I currently have on rotation: (From top left to bottom right) 🇰🇷 Dr. Jart Ceramidin Cream: A very rich, barrier replenishing moisturizer for when my skin is dry or irritated. 🇰🇷 Glow Recipe Plum Plump Serum: An antioxidant rich gel texture hyaluronic serum. I use this daily. 🇰🇷 Mauve Fantastic Ever Cool Kids Never Sleep Cream: A water cream with some loud 80s packaging that I am LIVING FOR. This is a good dupe for the Tatcha Water Cream. 🇰🇷 Then I Met You Living Cleansing Balm: A barrier replenishing cleansing balm rich in sea buckthorn oil. 🇰🇷 Dear Klairs Midnight Blue Calming Cream: A cream gel consistency moisturizer with blue tansy. Great for calming any inflammation. 🇰🇷 Krave Oat So Simple Water Cream: A very lightweight water cream with soothing oats. 🇰🇷 Purito Centella Green Level Safe Sun: Get 👏🏻 Hip 👏🏻 To 👏🏻 This 👏🏻 Sunscreen 👏🏻 it’s like $8 and completely invisible and weightless. This is like my fourth bottle. 🇰🇷 Then I Met You Soothing Tea Cleansing Gel: An antioxidant rich mildly exfoliating gel cleanser. I feel very so so about this. It’s fine but I wouldn’t buy again. 🇰🇷 Laneige Cream Skin Toner: A milky hydrating toner with meadow foam seed oil. 🇰🇷 Dear Klairs Supple Preparation Toner: An incredibly hydrating and plumping watery gel consistency toner. 🇰🇷 Amore Pacific Treatment Enzyme Peel: A richly foaming powder enzyme cleanser gentle enough for every day use.
I’ve said it once + I’ll say it again; I cannot stress the importance of practicing a PM double cleanse within your skin regimen. Imagine shampooing your hair without conditioning or cleansing hard floors, without vacuuming first. The FIRST cleanse is meant to remove sunscreen, makeup, debris, bacteria, + environmental toxins. The SECOND cleanse is meant to cleanse your OWN skin. I’ve been using the cleansing duo by thenimetyou on non-exfoliation nights. The cleansing balm feels like pure butter, consisting of fatty acids from sea buckthorn oil, antioxidants from vitamin e, + skin brightening persimmon extract, that aids in sebum regulation. I massage this into my entire face + drench a micro-fiber towel with water. I then PRESS it into my face for 10 seconds to pull out any debri on the surface of my skin. While keeping my skin damp, I complete the second cleanse with the Tea Cleansing Gel. It smells amazing containing (my favorite) healing centella asiatica, skin-toning licorice root, rice ferment filtrate for enzymatic exfoliation + amino acid nourishment. The second cleanse allows for purification + preparation for your PM product absorption. #cheriecreator Then I met you - The Cleansing Duo ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀

DREAMING ABOUT TIMY BLUE 💙
The brand Then I Met You was founded by Charlotte Cho, the owner of Sokoglam and also the absolute queen of k-beauty. TIMY has some of my absolute favorite packaging, branding and brand messaging (all done by the agency Red Antler- I’m a bit of a branding nerd). The brand is ephemeral, whimsical and soothing and all of their products sound like the answer to my glass skin prayers. However, I was HURT when their hero product, Then I met you - Birch Milk Refining Toner did not work for me. Maybe I didn’t give it a fair shot, but this gave my small little breakouts along my cheeks. I’m VERY comfortable with AHAS/ acid exfoliants so I didn’t think it could be purging? I’m interested to find out what it is, the unfamiliar ingredients to me are birch juice and marshmallow root extract- maybe those are the culprit? This product did leave my skin hydrated, glowy and plump- I know for many this is an absolute HG. For me, I run at the first sight of breakouts so this has been set aside to use for my neck and chest. I’d love to try more from this line, their cleansing balm looks so luxurious! Do you have any TIMY favorites? (artwork is my own)
Summer empties that I loved and will repurchase!
I recently accumulated a ton of new empties and I wanted to share the best ones with you all! I will / have repurchased all of these products because I found them each to be effective and worth the price tag. These are all 5 star products for me (except for one because I’m being petty) and hopefully you’ll find one here that will work for you too :) Benzagel - Acne Wash My holy grail second cleanse. It’s the one product that successfully keeps my acne at bay and isn’t irritating at all the skin. It’s just under $10 and I simply can’t live without it. I have already repurchased this one, in fact I always have a backup in my cupboard. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Anthelios Ultra Fluid Face Lotion SPF 50+ This is such a lovely sunscreen. It’s so lightweight and easy to reapply (even over makeup) because it absorbs into the skin so easily. It’s not the cheapest at just under $30, but I think it’s worth it. Only reason it’s 4 stars is because I still hate the packaging and how the product spills all over the spout. I admit this is likely user error lol but still! BIODERMA - Sensibio H2O Soothing Micellar Cleansing Water Cult fave. In my opinion it’s worth the hype and I use it every night to take my mascara off. I always buy the 2-pack at the drugstore to get some savings and like the benzagel, I always have a back up. LANEIGE - LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask I was so sad when I ran out of this 😭. This lip mask is just so amazing and in particular I love the vanilla version the best (I am fully neglecting the grapefruit flavour in my bathroom). It lasts for SO long and it keeps lips moisturizer and soft. I need to get my hands on a new vanilla one. LANEIGE - Cica Sleeping Mask I loved this when I first bought it and I still love it now. I use this only once a week and I always wake up with super dewy and soft skin. It’s a tad expensive at $45 but it does last a while and it’s such a luxurious formula. It’s great to use at night if my skin is ever feeling a little irritated or dry. Then I met you - Birch Milk Refining Toner I miss this toner already. I used it religiously in the evenings and it smoothed out my texture with its gentle acids. It made my skin brighter, smoother and it also helped control my hormonal acne around my chin (which sometimes even benzagel can’t tame). Such a big fan and I’m looking for an excuse to make another Sokoglam order. indeed LABORATORIES - Hydraluron Moisture Jelly I’ve actually upgraded my rating for this product! It has been my go-to moisturizer for the last month and I think it’s so perfect for the summer. It’s lightweight but still moisturizing. At first I felt like you weren’t getting a ton of product but it’s just $20, my skin loves it and I love the little pump that dispenses the product. So I’ve been won over! Ps I have combo, acne-prone skin 💕

Travel-friendly lip balms for chapped lips
I’m a lip balm addict. I can get really dehydrated and flaky lips so when I leave the house or go for a small trip I need to have at least one product in my purse / backpack / tote bag. I love these three lips balms because they have hygienic and slim packaging that fits almost anywhere. And I like bringing these three around because they each serve a unique purpose: indeed LABORATORIES - Hydraluron + Volumising Lip Treatment ^ when you need some heavy duty hydration ($15) I am absolutely loving this lip treatment from indeed. After just one use my lips were super soft and didn’t have any flakes left over. The formula is clear, THICK and was actually hard to squeeze out of the tube at first. But once you put it on it feels moisturizing, but thick enough that it won’t move out of place. The only thing I will say is that I don’t these this product makes my lips look any more voluminous that they did already... but I don’t mind and for $15 I’m super happy with the results. I would even consider bringing this in place of my Laneige lip mask is I was going on a quick weekend trip or just had a small purse. Then I met you - Honey Dew Lip Mask ^ when you want dewy and glossy lips ($22) Say you want to look extra dewy or flirty...But you don’t want a gloss that will dry out your lips or will feel too sticky. I would definitely recommend trying this lip mask. It’s not as healing as the indeed lip treatment, but it will keep your lips hydrated and super super glossy. Plus it smells super nice. The product is clear and almost a little oily. It’s a really lovely formula and pretty packaging. The scent is sweet but subtle. Overall, I love pulling this out of my purse and swiping a bit on before going out because I feel extra dewy and pretty. Glossier. - Balm Dotcom ^ the jack of all trades ($15) Lips feeling a bit chapped? Balm dotcom. Cuticles feeling dry? Balm dotcom. Elbows cracking? Balm dotcom. Let’s be honest, it’s beautiful and lightly scented Vaseline. And I love it. It’s so convenient for when you’re out and about. For $15 it does seem a bit steep, but the packaging is cute, the scent is nice and the pink tint in this rose version is subtle but pretty. Overall, I’m happy to spend the money for this convenient and versatile product. 🥰💋
𝕋𝕙𝕖𝕟 𝕀 𝕄𝕖𝕥 𝕐𝕠𝕦...
𝕋𝕙𝕖𝕟 𝕀 𝕄𝕖𝕥 𝕐𝕠𝕦 𝕧𝕤. 𝕃𝕒𝕟𝕖𝕚𝕘𝕖 Skincare is everything. It comes first, no question but to me close second is lip care. Nowadays I don’t think you can find a person who does not carry lipbalm—even a basic gas station chapstick. Chapped lips is a no-no for guys and girls! No one wants to be remembered for rough and peeling lips— especially on that first kiss! Lately however I’ve been wanting a little more than just my average Carmex (though it does wonders), to give my lips a little more care. In my lip travels I heard of the brands Laneige and Then I Met You. I paid $22 dollars for Then I met You Honey Dew Mask and $20 dollars for Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask [vanilla] and let me say some Pros and Cons of both Then I Met You: Then I met you - Honey Dew Lip Mask 3.9/5 Pros: Portable, easy to swipe on and provides great moisture, smells like honeydew, simply ingredient list of Honeydew, Squalane, Vitamin E, and Lactic Acid Cons: a little thin, and sometimes filmy, fades and leaves my lips dry and stiff within 30 minutes to an hour Laneige: LANEIGE - LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask 4.8/5 Pros: velvety texture, spreads like butter, a little goes a longggg way, keeps lips moisturized, smells of heavenly vanilla not too heavy or artificial Cons: you have to use your finger (or the given applicator) to apply, can be a little thick BOTTOM LINE: Laneige is Better than For 3 Reasons 1. Texture 2. Bang For Your Buck 3. More Moisture that lasts Longer Overall I am MUCH MORE impressed with Laneige than I am with Then I Met You but that’s a personal opinion based on my lip care preferences. Is Laneige the best out there? Probably not. However if a lighter, a little more user friendly lip care is your thing then it’s time for you to meet Then I Met You! **In the picture I’m wearing Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask

Get glowing skin with this essence
My skin is dry/acne prone and a bit sensitive. This essence is supposed to moisturize, brighten, and protect the skin with antioxidants. It’s very lightweight pink water that absorbs instantly into the skin. This goes right after cleansing and before any serums. I used this every day for a few weeks and my skin was glowy all day every day. Like glow from within kind of glow. Also really helped with my hormonal acne. I would 100% recommend this to anyone who has acne or wants a glow. #cheriecreator Then I met you - The Giving Essence
an empty I already have a backup for
I really have enjoyed emptying this Then I met you - Soothing Tea Cleansing Gel ! It’s been one of my favorite second cleansers in a double cleanse routine, OR by itself in the mornings. The brand sent me this product, but I have a backup I won in a giveaway. Claims: — soothing — soften & clear skin — for all skin types — ph 6 Scent: — natural / non synthetic — mandarin orange — licorice Key Ingredients: — PHA — tea tree — sodium hyaluronate — licorice root — green tea — cica My thoughts: — this jelly cleanser is such an interesting and new texture to me! It’s as thick as honey but much goopier. — the scent is lovely to me — natural with a hint of richness. I like that it isn’t artificial! — packaging is nice, but sometimes hard to get the goopy texture out easily. This is why I rate it 4/5 instead of 5! — I enjoy the PHA! Gentle exfoliation on the daily is much better for my skin type than harsh exfoliation once a week. — works really well with its balm friend, but I also love using this alone in the morning. It doesn’t strip me which is so surprising as it’s gel! — $36 isn’t too bad for a cleanser of this quality!
Then I met you-Soothing Tea Cleansing Gel
Dewy, glossy lips and convenient packaging
Side note: Isn’t the packaging so lovely? I love the Then I Met You blue. 💙 I was so excited to try out this lip mask when it launched last month for three reasons: 1) I thought the tube was super convenient for on the go, compared to the Laneige lip mask where I either have to use my finger or bring my little paddle. 2) The formulation intrigued me because it was meant to exfoliate your lips but also keep they moist / dewy at the same time. 3) I was really hoping it would smell like melona popsicles... The good: + Lips definitely look dewy af after applying. + Super convenient packaging, it’s slim and will fit into any purse or even your pocket. + The squeeze tube makes it easy to apply lip products without contaminating the applicator when you’re out and about (very relevant for right now where everyone is trying to be extra hygienic) + The formula is moisturizing (I would say more like an oil versus the buttery Laneige lip mask) but doesn’t leave lips sticky. + I’ve been wearing it consistently for a few days now and my lips definitely don’t feel as flakey as they did before. + Scent is nice, but subtle. The not so good: - I wouldn’t say that this is a direct replacement for the Laneige lip mask which is a little more moisturizing. I think the Laneige works perfect before bed or when your lips are in dire need of moisture. Whereas this is almost like a glossy balm for on the go. - This is definitely an investment seeing as it’s over $20 USD for just 0.5 oz of product. That’s not too far off from what the Laneige mask goes for, but it’s a little steep considering I don’t think it has quite the same moisturizing effect. Worth it? To me, this is worth it just because of the pretty and convenient packaging. And if you crave a really dewy, but natural look at work or on the go, I think you’ll like this. Would I repurchase? Probably, again just because of the packaging! But before I buy this one again, I want to buy glow recipe’s lip balm and compare! Then I met you - Honey Dew Lip Mask 💋
Then I met you-Honey Dew Lip Mask
First off I just wanna say that a solid cleansing routine really does wonders to your skin. The Living Cleansing Balm is unlike any of the ones I’ve tried, texture is in between a solid balm and a soft butter/sorbet. This beautifully melts away any oil-based impurities while still nourishing the skin with antioxidants, essential fatty acids and vitamin E. Some notable ingredients in this product are seaberry/sea buckthorn oil which gives this balm the bright orange color, persimmon extract that helps brighten the skin, olive and grape seed oil that has anti-aging and anti-inflammatory benefits to protect your skin barrier. Moving onto the Soothing Tea Cleansing Gel, it has a pH of 6 and formulated with PHAs and tea tree to prevent breakouts. This leaves my skin feeling soft and not stripped dry and literally that’s all I could ever wish for a cleanser. All of the ingredients in both products give a sensorial and aromatic experience that makes every night feel like a pamper day. I know the price point is pretty high up there for a cleanser ($68 for the duo) but if I have the money for it I would definitely repurchase both. 10/10 would recommend, I never wanna run out of it.
Then I met you-The Cleansing Duo
Empty and forever repurchase
Then I met you - Living Cleansing Balm This is the best cleansing balm, period. I have tried my fair shares of cleansing balms, like, a lot of them, but this is the best one. This is a first cleanse balm that’s supposed to melt away makeup, sunscreen and impurities without being harsh on the skin. Truly lives up to what it claims. And The amazing texture of this, I just fell in love. It melts into your skin and doesn’t leave those small clumps of balm that are waiting to be mashed into your skin, it’s just a creamy gelato balm that takes away everything. Just effortlessly melts it. It’s on the pricey side but it’s worth every penny. Recommend it to everyone. Doesn’t strip, is nourishing and takes away makeup. Just the best. I will continue to repurchase this throughout 2020.
Then I met you-Living Cleansing Balm
This balm would forever change my life. It works wonders and smells so good. It also takes of makeup, especially waterproof. Even though it has a weird texture it’s very moisturizing. It’s definitely pricey at the cost of $74 but It’s worth every penny.
