Skin Journey
Lately I have had a flair up in my acne. Believe it or not this is way better than how was a month ago. I feel that I was using too many products and too many serums so I’ve decided to simplify my routine. I am currently just use a cleanser, a retinol, a moisturizer and a sunscreen. We’ll see how this journey goes.

My Emergency Maskne Routine⁉️
I use this skincare routine when my face has been breaking out so badly that my normal skincare routine won’t help as much, like what happens when wearing masks. I usually only use this maybe once or twice a week or as needed. It really does clear up my skin pretty fast. First I start with THE inkey LIST - Salicylic Acid Acne + Pore Cleanser , and I put it on my face then I use the #HOMMIESAFE - Silicone Body + Face Brush[products]#[FiveStars] to lightly exfoliate my skin and allow the cleanser to do it’s job better. Then rinse. After that I dry off my face and go in with The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% , sometimes I put it on my whole face but if my skin isn’t too horrible then I put it in the spots that has bad acne. Finally I go in with íUNIK - Centella Calming Gel Cream , this helps reduce the redness on my face and doesn’t make my breakouts worse. My only issue is the way it makes my skin look and feel sticky. Here’s where I got these products: THE inkey LIST - Salicylic Acid Acne + Pore Cleanser ~ Sephora for $10 The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% ~ ULTA for $6 íUNIK - Centella Calming Gel Cream ~ yesstyle.com for $10 but after tax/shipping I ended up paying $17 #HOMMIESAFE - Silicone Body + Face Brush[products]#[FiveStars] ~ Amazon for $6 and it came with a small face brush and a larger body brush

AM Routine for Acne on the Mend
Lately my skin has been inflamed and an angry red basically outlining my mask. It has calmed down some after switching up my routine a bit and doing lots and lots of research combined with trial and error. Right now my morning routine includes the following steps and products to combat the irritation while also trying to prevent further flare ups: PEACH & LILY - Power Calm Hydrating Gel Cleanser My skin is very oily in the morning so I do like to use a gentle cleanser. I’ve been sticking with Peach and Lily’s cleanser since it doesn’t irritate or completely dry out my skin and overall I just love using it which helps with stressful mornings. GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow PHA+BHA Pore-Tight Toner Then I move Onto a toner step. When my skin really flared up (multiple cystic acne spots and the whole bit) I stuck to a gentle toner like, Benton - Deep Green Tea Toner , but since my skin has calmed down a bit I’ve added Glow Recipe’s toner with PHA and BHA to help with some of the enlarged pores around my nose and to help prevent future breakouts from mask wearing. íUNIK - Tea Tree Relief Serum This serum really seems to help with my red, irritated skin. I’ve been using it for over a month now and can see a marked difference. It contains centella Asiatica for soothing and calming and tea tree leaf water for helping with inflammation along with other helpful ingredients and no added fragrance. GLOW RECIPE - Banana Soufflé Moisture Cream To lock all the goodness of the previous products in I top it off with the banana soufflé moisturize cream. My face is super oily and I have a tough time finding moisturizers that don’t leave my face sticky feeling afterwards. This moisture cream leaves my face soft and silky feeling. It’s a fairly light cream and is the best replacement I’ve found for the neutrogena hydroboost gel cream so far. Centella asiatica is also an ingredient in this cream. It does smell like bananas, which personally I adore! Questions, comments, recommendations?? Thanks for reading ❤️

My Saturday PM routine is my favorite routine 🤩
Follow me if you’re interested! I’d love to find others who are in the beginning stages of the skincare craze like I am! My cleansers right now are FIRST AID BEAUTY - Pure Skin Face Cleanser or the CeraVe hydrating facial cleanser. The FAB one I got in the trial pack (hence the size). I’m not a fan of the smell of it...but it gets the job done! The beautiful The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution is the biggest reason my Saturday PM routine is my favorite - it’s exfoliation day! This stuff gave me instant results the first time I used it. Loved using this for my textured skin and for having an all-around deep clean feel. I only use this once a week! Next I follow up my face with the The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and íUNIK - Tea Tree Relief Serum to help soothe and calm my face. Usually I spot treat each in certain areas. The niacinamide I tend to use around the cheeks and the chin area. The tea tree serum is usually focused in my more highly irritated areas (nose, anywhere I have a current breakout, etc). Moisturizing is my last step. Every day in the PM, I like to double moisturize because my skin tends to dry out when I’m not moving around and being active. Right now, my current moisturizers are íUNIK - Beta Glucan Power Moisture Serum and FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Hydra-Firm Sleeping Cream . So far, I love them both!

Will you sashay or will you stay? 😔🤚🏼
I thought I'd give some thoughts on skin care products I have tried in 2020. I will talk about more products in future posts, but let's start with this. What I loved ❤ NEOGENLAB - Sur.Medic Azulene Soothing Pepthide Ampoule After my skin got randomly sensitive (currently being screened for lupus), a lot of products I already had in my routine just didn't work for me anymore and would make my skin angry. I needed to repair my skin barrier and use different products from what I used to use for my then acne-prone skin that could take a lot. This product was key in calming my skin and repairing my moisture barrier. This contains 10 peptides, Azulene blue capsule and ceramide capsules. Holy grail! The Ordinary - ''Buffet'' I heard somewhere that for peptides to be effective, you have to use them AM & PM. I use this in my bedtime routine to maintain the effects of the NEOGENLAB ampoule mentioned above. It's cheap and the packaging is glass. Very easy to incorporate this in your routine when taking a break from retinol that can be irritating. NEOGENLAB - Real Rerment Micro Essence I use this after double cleansing at night and it's so good. My skin just drinks it up and it doesn't leave any tackiness. It's super gentle and will give you a boost of hydration after your cleansing step. Been using this every day since this summer and I'm not even halfway done with the bottle. COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence My skin has gone through changes this year, but this is one of the products that remained in my routine. I use this in the morning before my serums and it makes my skin looks so great! It's kind of gooey at first, but turn to a watery texture pretty quickly. It's actually impressive how this just sinks into your skin. It helps with my acne scars and post-inflammation hyperpigmentation. One pump is enough for my whole face! BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Marine Algae Eye Cream Many claim that eye creams are not necessary and I believe them. I personally like to use one because I set my concealer with powder and it can be a little drying. This is lightweight and is a good base before eye makeup. Helped with my fine lines and the packaging is glass. 4 stars cause it's not a necessity. Products I disliked 💔 Perricone MD - Hypoallergenic Firming Eye Cream This eye cream is so heavy and oily it gave me a few milias. Total rip off for the price and it contains palm oil. DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum I incorporated more niacinamide in ny routine and stopped using acids more than twice a week, so this is not a necessity unless you have 100$ laying around. Can be irritating. Kiehl's - Kiehl's Ultra Facial Moisturizer It worked good when I used to be on antibiotics for cystic acne, but now my skin doesn't absorb it, makes me greasy and breaks me out cause it's clogging. I recommend only if you have dry and flaky skin.

Introducing niacinamide in my routine 🤠
I posted about The Ordinary Niacinamide+Zinc a couple weeks ago and said I'd wait a bit until giving more thoughts on the product. For me, this serum was irritating and caused redness. Pretty sure my skin does not tolerate zinc so much. My skin just didn't feel great even after taking all the precautions I could based on the reviews I have read online. It's already snowing a lot where I live and I rather not keep on trying something that irritates my skin when it's going to get -35°C soonish. My rating is based on my personal experience though. Texture was ok, price point is good and I love the glass packaging. I did want to see if the zinc was the problem and I think it is. I started using the iUnik Black Snail Restore serum and it did not irritate my skin like TO did. It's formulated with snail mucin and centella asiatica, both soothing and hydrating ingredients. It is also formulated with niacinamide, so I do get the benefits (regulates oil, protects against sun damage, treats hyperpigmentation, etc.), but without the irritation TO caused to my skin. Also formulated with ingredients from black rice and black sesame which also fade hyperpigmentation and acne scars. I find it's a great way to introduce niacinamide into your routine without jeopardizing your skin so much. Only downside is that it takes longer to see results with this one. Glass packaging, costs more than TO but still a good price point and works for my oily skin.

Fav Korean skincare products OF THE YEAR 🙌🏼
Don’t forget to cheer for me 👏🏼👏🏼 I am absolutely obsessed with Korean skincare. They are reinventing the entire industry and developing products that are so, so, insanely good for your skin. The first product I swear by is the snail mucin, I know it sounds yucky but it’s better than any other gel like moisturizer I’ve ever tried. And, don’t worry it’s 100% cruelty free and dries to a non sticky finish that locks in moister all day or night👍🏻 The second is the propolis serum, packed with vitamins and goes great under makeup and or sunscreen to give you that beautiful healthy glow. My last fav of the year and my favorite of the three is the green tea toner. I have really sensitive skin especially around my eyes and this toner immediately reduces redness and irritation, even around puffy, tired eyes. I use it twice a day and couldn’t go a day with out it. I live by this stuff guys and if you have sensitive, red, irritated, even oily skin, you need this 🙌🏼

iUnik is Unique!
The iunik propolis vitamin synergy serum is a perfect day-to-day serum. It is lightweight, absorbs quickly and doesn’t make my skin oily. It contains 70% propolis extract (propolis is produced by bees which is considered to have antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory properties). It also contains Vitamin C, sea buckthorn extract, Niacinamide and all these great ingredients. This serum is very nourishing and hydrating. It gives a glow to my skin and makes it feel more plump. This is also a good serum to add in your routine if you want to start working on slowing down skin-aging. Their tree tea serum is next on my list! Next is the propolis vitamin eye cream I do feel that it is important to add an eye cream in your routine. This eye cream is very lightweight as well. My under eye area gets very dry and red. So an eye cream is a must for me. This nourishes and soothes my under eye area. It is said to have anti-aging benefits which I think will be beneficial in a long run. I personally do not have major dark circle problem but it also has brightening properties which will be great if dark circles is your concern.

My small skin journey, please help me!
Usually skin journeys are to show the improvement of your skin when you use certain products, however my skin has been getting worse. My first picture was August 10th, I don’t remember what face wash I was using, but I was using The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG . I rated the Niacinamide 5 out of 5 because it really helped with my dark spots, at the time I was at the beach a lot and even though I put on sunscreen, dark spots would appear on my nose. That’s where I would notice them the most. Whenever I used the Niacinamide, I really noticed that it would help fade the dark spots and I really liked that. I’ve been using the Caffeine Solution for a while because I have pretty bad dark circles, I can’t tell if it’s been helping or not but I think it has a little. In the second picture which was today November 2nd, my skin is freaking out. You might not be able to tell in the picture but I have two cystic acne pimples, one on my forehead and one on my left cheek. Usually I don’t really get cystic acne but I have been getting them a lot more often. I believe this is the most I have been breaking out throughout the months. Let me give a quick background, I was on vacation June-August 19th and that’s why I only had few products. When I got home I bought more products, these products were from The Ordinary. These products included The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5, The Ordinary - Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA. The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%and since I ran out of the Niacinamide I had before I bought the 60 mL bottle because they were out of the 30mL on Sephora. I used The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%in the morning. Then The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and The Ordinary - Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA in the night. At first everything was fine, I had a few pimples but I didn’t think much of it, however my skin became very irritated, it dried out, which was weird because I have oily skin. I stopped using all of those products for a bit and used The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5and The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% together since I knew Hyaluronic Acid helps with moisture and I knew Niacinamide worked for me already, that’s why I used them together. Even when I used those two and stopped using the others, my skin didn’t get much better, it was still very dry, it hurt to put products on it. Even the niacinamide I felt like it wasn’t working for me and I’m not sure why because it worked before. In the second pic, I recently started to use COSRX - Salicylic Acid Daily Gentle Cleanser, íUNIK - Calendula Complete Cleansing Oil,MIZON - Snail Repair Eye Creamas well as The Ordinary - Retinol 1% in Squalane

Dehydrated Skin
Recently I have been experiencing itchiness, redness, just plain painful skin on my face. Pretty certain I have damaged my skin barrier. Non of my normal products feel good anymore, and always sting. I do not know exactly how this has happened, as I do not exfoliate often, if at all, but I have been highly stressed. For about two weeks I pretty certain I developed rosacea on my cheeks. The pictures above show my skin after four weeks of trying to go almost mostly product less. However my skin has now overcompensated with loads of sebum. I do have mild eczema on my body but have yet to get it on my face. I try to use gentle products as my skin is quite reactive. The first product I have tried in the last few weeks that has actually felt good on my skin is the TIAM Vita B5 Toner (couldn’t find the product in the system). This toner is one of the toners recommended by Kelly Driscoll on her YouTube channel. I also decided to try out the oh so famous illiyoon - Ceramide Ato Cream~ I don’t know how I feel about this product yet. I have been using it for three days now and I find that my skin struggles with absorbing this lotion. This is product number 2 that I have found over a three/four week period that does not hurt my skin. As of yesterday I received the HADALABO - Rohto Hadalabo Gokujun Hyaluronic Lotion Moistand íUNIK - Beta Glucan Power Moisture Serumin the mail and have only used them twice and have no opinion as of yet. They don’t seem hurt but I cannot tell if they are helping. If anyone has any recommendations for dehydrated combination skin with a damaged skin barrier I would be forever grateful!

I’ve been using these 2 iunik products for the past month or so now and I’m ready to share some thoughts! -Rose Galactomyces Synergy Serum was formed to help control sebum, improve pores, and instantly moisturize skin. It has 50% galactomyces ferment which is a yeast from asian rice wine that contains vitamins, minerals, and amino acids. Other notable ingredients are niacinamide for brightening, allantoin and aloe extract for soothing, plus hyaluronate for moisturizing. Overall I’ve been enjoying this product, in terms of pore improving I haven’t seen much of a difference but I really love the moisturizing and nourishing part. Just a few seconds after applying this and my skin is already glowing. -Vitamin Hyaluronic Acid Vitalizing Toner is a gel type toner that helps vitalize and moisturize the skin with 45% hyaluronic acid and 5% vitamin tree fruit extract. If you need a moisture boost that’s rich in vitamin C then this is the product for you. When I started testing this out the weather in our country was pretty darn hot so my combo skin didn’t quite like it at first, but now that the rainy days are coming I’ll probably reach out for this more and get back to you guys on that!

Moisturizing cream for dry skin
Beta-glucan is a polysaccharide sugar that provides antioxidant and skin soothing benefits. The íUNIK - Beta-Glucan Daily Moisture Cream is a highly moisturizing cream that contains 3,000mg of this ingredient. This products claims to help with brightening the skin, improving skin barrier functions, and reducing the appearance of wrinkles. Some other notable ingredients in the formula includes niacinamide, glycerin, sodium hyaluronate, allantoin, centella asiatica, betaine, adenosine, aloe, licorice root, and some fruit extracts. This has a medium weight creamy texture that creates a nice protective barrier for the skin. It sinks in after a couple minutes leaving you with a soft natural finish that doesn’t feel heavy or greasy. I’ve been using this mainly as my night cream for the past couple of weeks as it’s a bit to much on my skin for daytime use since I prefer using a lighter moisturizer during the day. It layers well on top of all my other products to help seal in everything before bed. I would say this is geared more towards those with drier skin types because it’s more emollient and provides a lot more nourishment than their centella gel cream. There’s also no fragrance added to this so again, perfect for those with sensitive skin types as well. There’s really not much else to say about since it’s just a basic no frills cream. Overall, I enjoyed this moisturizer, but it’s pretty basic which isn’t really a bad thing. It doesn’t cause any negative reactions on my skin, and it’s still a great product. I’m not rushing to repurchasing this either since I have a lot of other moisturizers I prefer over it but I’m sure a lot of people will appreciate this for what it is.

Good oil cleanser
Good oil cleanser
The oil cleanser is great and easily takes away my makeup but I would not recommend using it alone because it will block your pores and make you feel yucky. A plus though is that it’s very gentle and if you accidentally get it in your eyes it won’t sting and you’ll be able to easily wipe away your eye makeup. Always follow up with a bubble cleanser or something to take the oil out and really prep your skin for serums and moisturizer though the one I use is in the picture but I couldn’t find the tag for it.

Here’s a round up of a few K B
Here’s a round up of a few K Beauty things I’ve been playing with... . ▪️Skin Food Royal Honey Propolis Enrich Toner—A creamy almost emulsion more than toner with propolis, royal jelly, honey, lactobacillus & yeast. I love that it’s not heavily scented but I’m not a huge emulsion style fan so I wasn’t into it ▪️Whamisa Organic Deep Rich Toner—Love this thicker hydrating essence style toner. Aloe, galactomyces, oat kernel, avocado oil, glycerin, peony and broccoli to name a few. This stuff is amazing. This is not my first bottle. Hall of fame ▪️CosRX Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser—Jelly gel style simple gentle cleanser with a low pH. It’s affordable and a pretty good one. Non-drying and fragrance free. I would totally repurchase ▪️Klairs Supple Preparation Toner—Aloe, sodium hyaluronate, gotu kola, beta-glucan, panthenol & purslane. I liked this one. Got some EOs but they do have a fragrance free version as well ▪️Manyo Factory Galactomyces Special Treatment Essence Cream Rich—I love this brand. They’re pretty clean for k beauty and have a really good range. Easily one of my fav k beauty brands. This cream was so lush I loved it. Sadly it’s taken off the site so it’s either gone or being reformulated. I order direct from their website as they have the full range ▪️CosRX Ultimate Moisturizing Honey Overnight Mask—I wanted to love this. It’s a gel with propolis (87% antibacterial & anti-inflammatory), sodium hyaluronate & adenosine. It’s light so it’s not the most hydrating sleeping mask I’d probably just use a propolis serum instead and get the same effect ▪️IUINK Centella Calming Gel Cream—A gel cream with soothing gotu kola water & tea tree water. It’s fragrance free which I love. It’s nice and I’ll use it up but I think I’ll just go serum route next time for my gotu kola. Personal preference is all ▪️IUNIK Propolis Vitamin Sleeping Mask—A bit thicker and more of a creamy gel than the CosRX with propolis (16%), sea buckthorn fruit (8%), gotu kola (5%), niacinimide, beta glucan & purslane. This one is more hydrating. Has a bit of that silicone texture. It’s was OK but not my favorite sleeping mask ever

I’m about to empty my Propolis
I’m about to empty my Propolis Vitamin Synergy Serum from Iunik and I think it’s finally time I share my experience and thoughts. This serum contains propolis and sea buckthorn extracts that help soothe and nourish the skin. It also claims to calm and brighten the skin with niacinamide and adenosine. This is said to be for Dry and Sensitive skin types however I find that this works great on my Oily skin as well. I really like its viscosity, it’s slightly thick but lightweight (if that makes sense haha) and it spreads easily on the skin. I usually apply it after my essence. It’s not oily/sticky as long as you apply the right amount and it absorbs just fine! I also appreciate the end of the dropper. It’s designed to be applied directly on the face in convenience. I had no problems with its packaging ~ it’s a clear glass bottle and I love how I can see how much product is inside. My skin has a thing for propolis and I can’t wait to try more products! 💛✨

The Iunik Calendula Complete C
The Iunik Calendula Complete Cleansing Oil and my precious Bioderma Sensibio Micellar Water are tied for my HG makeup removers - HIGHLY recommend. ⁣ ⁣ This cleansing oil is super gentle and works like a dream. It easily and quickly removes eye makeup without any rubbing and doesn’t irritate my eyes or blur my vision. ⁣ ⁣ Calendula is excellent for acne prone or sensitive skin because it soothes inflammation and also has antiseptic properties - thinking I need to incorporate more of it in my rotation. I need to be soothed 24/7. ⁣ ⁣ The price on this is great too, 200ml for $13 - $22 (depending where you order from). ⁣ ⁣ Ingredients: Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Canola Oil, Calendula Officinalis Flower extract, Sorbeth-30 Tetraoleate, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Cananga odorata flower oil, Sorbitan Sesquioleate⁣.
