My favorite concealers
Conceal(er) appeal? While I don’t generally wear foundation, I do love a concealer for my undereyes and over any particularly bad blemishes. Having hunted for some years for the 'perfect’ one, I’ve rounded up my favourites. The shiseido Sheer Eye Zone Corrector in shade 102 Light (bottom right) is a sheer concealer providing a radiant finish. For more coverage, I leave it to air dry for a minute or so before blending. Great for under eyes if discolouration isn’t a big issue but too sheer for major concealing or for use over a colour corrector. Plus points: doesn’t crease on eyelids. Minuses: Not terribly natural ingredients- my favourite natural alternative is Chantecaille’s Le Camouflage Stylo. For when my bags are more Louis Vuitton trunk than evening clutch I use the lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear Camouflage in shades 110 Ivoire (C) and 010 Beige Porcelaine (bottom left and mid right). These seriously heavy duty concealers cover pretty much anything I ever need them too and leave a satin finish. Plus points: Covers everything, including a colour corrector if you use one. Lasts absolutely forever (like a year even with daily use). Minuses: Sits in my lid creases, setting spray helps with this. For a more natural alternative I use the kjaerweis Cream Foundation in Lightness. While normally used as a foundation, I also try this as a concealer, using the warmth of my fingers to apply. Plus points: A very natural and hydrating product in beautiful, low-waste packaging. Provides good coverage and a powder-like finish. Doesn’t sit in lid creases too much. Minuses: Almost none- expensive but you get a lot of product for the price. Another lovely natural product is the rms beauty “Un” Cover-Up in 000, their absolute lightest shade (top). This covers really well (again, not as heavy-duty as the Lancome) and has a lovely creamy texture. The mineral powders in this do a good job of adapting to your tone so it doesn’t matter if you don’t get the shade spot on. Plus points: Good coverage. Moisturising. Radiant finish. Minuses: Pretty expensive. Settles slightly in lines.

BEST FOR MY SKINTONE: CREAM FOUNDATION
BEST FOR MY SKINTONE: CREAM FOUNDATION
Kjaer Weis - Kjaer Weis Cream Foundation Almost all of the cream foundations that I’ve tried in pan form have been extremely dry and cakey on the skin- no matter how I prep my skin. This Kjaer Weis Cream Foundation is the only one I’ve tried that doesn’t look like that on. I love this foundation so much, although I really just use it as a concealer for days when I want to look like I have little-to-no makeup on. The formula is super emollient and creamy and looks amazing blended into the skin. It truly just disappears. The shade Silken works for me when I’m tan and when I’m pale. You can really customize the amount of coverage you’re looking for by applying more or less! I tend to use my fingers when putting on this product because the warmth of my fingers really helps to mesh it into my skin.
