My skincare awards: toners
🥇GEORGETTE KLINGER - Vitamin C Toner $26 This is the toner that I've been using lately, I love the results of Georgette Klinger's Vitamin C line. I had a chance to try it thanks Georgette Klinger and Cherie. Leaves skin fresh and clean, helps diminish dark spots, calms redness, purifies pores and brightens dull skin tone. Its main ingredients: kakadu plum, aloe, withc hazel, watercress and elderflower. It is a lightweight liquid that absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave sticky. It definitely decreased the redness on my skin and has helped decrease dark spots. 🥈 PEACH & LILY - The Good Acids Pore Toner It is a gentle formula even with sensitive skin. Contains AHAs, salicylic acid, cape lilac, eggplant, turmeric extracts, aloe and allantoin. I had the opportunity to try it thanks to a BoxyCharm box. I have used it a few times but I liked it, it doesn’t cause irritation and absorbs quickly, its texture is liquid and it has no odor. It is ideal for oily and combination skin. It is definitely a gentle exfoliating toner that doesn’t cause irritation, making it ideal for even the most sensitive skin. ❌ YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Kombucha + 11% AHA Exfoliation Power Toner $38 Long ago I did a review of this toner, I had used it for two weeks and my first impression was that it didn’t absorb well, since it leaves sticky feeling. In fact they mention it on their website, but for me that feeling is unbearable. I found it as a new product at Sephora and bought it to try it out as I had a good experience with the cleanser. I still have the same opinion of that time, the truth is that I wouldn’t buy it again. Its main ingredients: kombucha black tea fermented, tree bark ferment, ginger, lactic acid, glycolic acid, citrus bioflavonoids and lemons water extract. Its texture is liquid, they say "liquid, lightweight", it has no added fragrance. Every time I use it, it causes a little irritation that goes away the next morning, but I think the Peach & Lily is gentler than this toner. It is used 3-5 times a week, at night. I definitely prefer the first two options as they don't irritate me. But I think it depends on your skin type, since many people do very well with YTTP toner.

Vitamin C: the ultimate glow inducing ingredient
Vitamin C is one of my favorite powerhouse ingredients! This amazing antioxidant is just great to brighten, correct hyperpigmentation and get an even skin tone! 🍊 I personally am a big fan, and love to use vitamin C to get bright, luminous skin. It’s been so useful to me lately as I’ve been feeling stressed and picking at my skin and it’s so so good to correct darks spots and post-acne marks. These vitamin C products from Georgette Klinger (gifted) we’re just the perfect fit for me! The GEORGETTE KLINGER - Vitamin C Complex is a lovely serum formulated with Kakadu plum and hyaluronic acid (another ingredient I just love) to promote the absorption of vitamin C. It’s important to know the correct order to apply a vitamin C serum and it should always be after toner but before moisturizer, following the thinnest to thickets rule and you should always, always apply SPF after! Unless you’re applying it at night, in which case you’re good without SPF 😜 I first learned about vitamin C from my husband, and the statues my own research, it’s been one of my tried and true ingredients for years!

Brighter, More Even Skin in just 10 Days!
Before we start, pleaaaase pardon my quarantine brows/hair. **GIFTED: I’ve been trying Georgette Klinger’s new Vitamin Collection through Cherie for the past 10 days and have been loving the line so far. This was my first experience with GK and the first time that I’ve ever followed a routine from a brand, so I was excited to see how using products that were designed to go together and comprised of similar ingredients would affect my skin. As someone with sensitive acne-prone skin with a pinch of rosacea, I’m constantly chasing acne scars and dark spots trying to get rid of every last trace of my breakouts, so using a routine fortified with vitamin C has been really helpful is fighting discoloration/hyperpigmentation and redness. I’ve been using each product twice daily. On day 1, I had some hormonal pimples that were on their way out and my skin was super red from being in the sun. By day 5, the scarring began to decrease and I noticed that the bright redness had started to go down as well, making things look more even and now on day 10, everything is barely there and my complexion is noticeably more even and radiant. Dare I say, the vitamin C might be helping keep my breakouts at bay (fingers crossed!!) In addition to brightening my skin, I noticed that the products helped smooth my skin’s texture as well, which is always welcome. Overall, I'm really pleased with the way the Vitamin C collection has been treating my skin and am so happy to have been able to try it out!

Dull skin no more 🍊
Georgette Klinger kindly gifted me a few products to try, including the GEORGETTE KLINGER - Vitamin C Mask and I have to admit, I’m not the biggest fan of clay masks because they often feel way too drying for my dehydrated skin and I just cant stand that tight feeling on my face but I’m happy to report this one didn’t feel like that! I left this baby on for about 10 minutes after washing my face in the morning and it really added a nice sheen to my skin. I love that this formula includes argan and avocado oil to keep skin nourished while the kaolin clay draws out impurities. I have yet to see long term results from prolonged use but it’s definitely a nice mask I’ll add to my mask rotation!

How to Treat Dreaded ‘Maskne’ 🖤
With everything going on right now I know a lot of people (myself included right now) are wearing masks for 8+ hours. With this new addition to daily life a new problem I’ve been hearing a lot about right now is ‘maskne’ or mask acne. With your mask on your face all day causing irritation it’s perfectly normal to experience break outs. When I do get really bad break outs I tend to simplify my routine down to these basic steps: (disclaimer: I myself have oily, acne prone skin that is mainly grade 2) 1.) Cleanse - FARMACY - Clean Bee Ultra Gentle Facial Cleanser A gel cleanser is best for oily skin. It’s also going to be best to get all the sebum, debris, and other gross stuff you may have under your mask from breathing in it all day. This one is gentle but effective without stripping your skin. 2.) Prep - GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Serum I always use niacinamide as a prep step. My favorite niacinamide serum is from Good Molecules. It’s only $6 and it absorbs really nicely into the skin without feeling sticky. This is going to help regulate oil control so you’re not over producing, calm down any inflammation your new break out may be experiencing, and help heal any pigmentation that might be left behind as the break out heals. 3.) Spot Treat - GEORGETTE KLINGER - Acne Spot Relief Then I go in with a spot treatment. I really like the Georgette Klinger spot treatment because it’s cream formula absorbs really well into the skin to dry out the break out properly without damaging the surrounding skin. It contains both salicylic acid and lactic acid so while it helping to shed dead skin cells from the face so sebum doesn’t get trapped underneath to create more break outs the salicylic acid goes deep into the pores and cleans it out. Another great option is the Clinique Acne Solutions Gel. 4.) Moisturize - FARMACY - Daily Greens Oil-Free Gel Moisturizer with Moringa and Papaya You always want to seal a routine with a good moisturizer. For oily skin I recommend a gel (with dry you’ll want a cream). This will help keep your skin hydrated while it’s healing without feeling too heavy. If you use too heavy of a cream with oily skin you have the potential of clogging the pores and with the mask on top it will just make things worse (With dry skin you don’t have to worry about this as much).

Salicylic Acid: Acne’s Best Friend 🖤
I’ve suffered from acne off and on for years but last year it was at an all time low. I had a period in my life where my chin was breaking out so bad. As soon as one blemish would heal it seemed like two more would pop up. It was this time in my life I found one of my favorite skincare ingredients, salicylic acid. Salicylic acid is a BHA (which is a chemical exfoliant) which loosens the “glue” bonds of dead skin cells to encourage exfoliation. It’s lipophilic which means it can penetrate through clogged pores and oil to help clean everything out (meaning it’s perfect for people like me who have oily skin!). One of my favorite products that spotlights this ingredient is the CLINIQUE - Acne Solutions Clinical Clearing Gel . I completely contribute my chin being free of break outs thanks to this item. The gel consistency of it absorbs really easily into the skin. It comes in two sizes, the one above is .5 oz for $18 and it has lasted me months! I use it as a spot treatment so you only need a little bit. After I cleanse and tone my face I go in with this on spots I tend to break out and it helps calm the skin, clear any breakouts, and even prevents future break outs from happening. Another product with this ingredient is the GEORGETTE KLINGER - Acne Spot Relief which I’m not the biggest fan of. This has a cream consistency instead which I find myself having to work into my skin more for it to absorb. It comes in one size, 1 oz for $22. Another reason I’m not a fan is because it contains (and smells heavily of) tea tree which can potential be a irritant to the skin. With this quarantine going on my skin was breaking out very badly and it did calm down the redness and help heal the blemish. It’s just not my favorite consistency because it doesn’t absorb as well. Personally, the Clinique will be a forever repurchase for me. I find the formula a little more effective on the skin even though they both do what they claim to do. The gel consistency is a lot better for oily skin. I also tend to use more product than necessary with the cream than the gel so in the end your product is going to last you longer. I also don’t enjoy the smell of tea tree in the Georgette Klinger while the Clinique has no smell. Between the two the Clinique is my personal preference.

Hey everyone 💕Here are some things I’ve been loooooving lately. Of course, Charlotte Tilbury is quickly becoming my go to makeup brand. This contour / highlight palette is so luxurious, and gives the perfect healthy glow to the cheeks without being overwhelming. I love the blush as well! I chose the shade Ecstasy, which gives the most gorgeous glow to the cheeks. It’s like a blush / highlight in one. I was never a huge blush person, which I’ve spoken about before - however, I can’t stop reaching for this one! Ive also been a huge fan of body oils lately, and this one by bastideo has been incredible to my skin. It smells of orange blossom, and the scent lingers all day without being overpowering. My other go to is the diptyque Satin Oil! Lastly, georgetteklinger Gardenia toner and facial mist and .... oh my god. I can’t stop using the mist! I use this as a sheet spray before bed most of the time, but the fragrance is so, so out of this world. I loveeee gardenia anything, so this was a no brainer for me.- Mai 👼🏻

Tropical Hydration 🧉🌴
I don't always have dry skin, but when I do, you can find me dousing myself with the Mario Badescu Coconut Facial Mist. Even in the summer when my skin is straight-up DEHYDRATED from being out in the sun so much, this facial mist is a lifesaver. Skin Type: Combination - This mist uses coconut, fresh botanicals, and aloe extract to hydrate the skin and keep it seriously conditioned. I find that after the mist is soaked up into my skin, I end up with a serious glow!! - You can also use it to set your makeup! I find that when I use a lot of mattifying products, I end up looking a little drab, so I'll spritz on some of this to help my skin look more alive and healthy. - My workout classes have been outdoors due to COVID restrictions, so I've been pretty consistently keeping this in my gym bag as well so that the second I get into the car, I can spritz this all over my face to plump after sweating all the moisture out of my skin. PRO TIP: Pop this baby in the fridge (or in your cooler if you're by the pool/at the beach) during the hot summer months for a seriously refreshing pick-me-up after you've been in the sun!! If you're not into coconut, they also make hydrating mists in gardenia and lavender scents!! GEORGETTE KLINGER - Coconut Facial Mist

I’m loving how smooth this is getting my skin and how gentle it is!! I just use it twice a week because I’m prone to dry skin, but I’m really loving how gentle this is. Every morning after I use it, I have that glow. It’s also been super helpful in helping keep my whiteheads at bay 🙏🏾 GEORGETTE KLINGER - Phytic Exfoliating Toner Tagging @StevenPham@jenny@ambersymone to share their fave toner!

Vitamin C Mask The Vitamin C Mask is a clay-based mask that is designed to revitalize, brighten and even the complexion using vitamin C, as well as purifying and hydrating argan and avocado Oils and algae extracts. It also contains betaglucans, which prevent damage and boosts skins immunity. My favorite part about this mask was how gentle it is. My skin can be quite reactive and sensitive to harsh formulas, so I love masks that don’t cause irritation or discomfort. When the clay dried, my skin didn’t feel tight or stripped and instead felt super smooth. Unfortunately, I can’t vouch for its brightening effect – I feel like my skin’s radiance wasn’t affected. The same goes for its abilities to draw out impurities – I feel like it wasn’t anything life-changing. I would recommend this mask if you’re looking for a gentle touch up for your skin but not if you’re in need of a serious reboot. I will probably not be using this after the 10-day trial.

I can suffer from really bad a
I can suffer from really bad acne (thankfully at the moment it’s under control but I still do like to apply salicylic acid nightly) on my chin. I was looking to replace what I was currently using so this came at a perfect time. This acne treatment is the consistency of a thin lotion that absorbs into the skin. The directions say you apply it to the area after cleansing, toning, and moisturizing. It does smell like tea tree (which I’m not a fan of essential oils in skin. I didn’t experience any irritation, dryness, or breakouts so that ingredient is up to your discretion) which I didn’t mind. It has both salicylic and lactic acid. The lactic acid will help dissolve the bonds that hold dead skin cells together allowing the salicylic acid to go deep into the pore and clean it out. My skin isn’t the hugest fan of lactic acid but like I said above I didn’t experience any breakouts from using this so I’m happy. They say their benefits include fighting active breakouts, prevents new breakouts, soothes redness, swelling, and irritation, cleans out the pores, and supports faster healing. All in all my chin has been clear all month which makes me happy but because of the tea tree oil I probably won’t continue use after it’s gone. I feel like if you have skin that has breakouts, really benefits from lactic acid, and don’t mind tea tree oil this would be perfect for you.

Give me all the honey products
Give me all the honey products! . This Honey Cleansing Gel from Georgette Klinger has become yet another favorite cleanser for me! Antioxidant rich honey and honey extract are both calming and help to balance the skin. Honeysuckle Extract is purifying, helps even skin tone, and increases luminosity. Chamomile Extract is calming and soothing, neutralizes redness, inflammation, and free radical damage. Marula oil is hydrating and softening. What else could you ask for in a cleanser?! If you swipe to the second photo you’ll see the thick, rich texture of this cleanser. It gently lathers and feels amazing when you massage into the skin. It leaves my skin clean and hydrated. Even my dry skin doesn’t feel stripped or tight after using this. Usually after cleansing my skin starts to get that dry, tight feeling within 10 minutes...not with this one! I even went a full hour before doing my routine and my skin still felt soft and smooth! . I love the brands philosophy that the heart of a healthy glowing complexion is nurturing the skin with clean, natural, and non abravise products. The brand is also cruelty free, paraben free, dye free, and made in the US! I’m impressed with the quality of this cleanser and hope to try more products from their line someday!

My favorite retinol
Recently started using georgetteklinger retinol pm and it’s safe to say this is my holy grail retinol! Clears up any texture/small acne spots I have without causing dryness or flaking. I have dry skin so retinols tend to majorly dry me out, and almost always cause flaking and skin sensitivity. This retinol is a game changer. All the benefits of a regular retinol without the harsh side effects. I had no irritation, no flaking, no redness! Lightweight and absorbs quickly. Leaves my skin glowing and so soft! Remember to always wear your spf especially when using retinol! GEORGETTE KLINGER - Eorgette Klinger Retinol PM Serum
