I am a huge skincare lover and love to try out ingredients and brands. Check out my collection and my favourite brands and products. Favourite brands: Versed: this is a brand that I have tried many products and they have worked well for me. This is a drug store brand that is mid range. It is cruelty free and eco conscience, going so far as to state the percentage of usage of recycled material and having recycling instructions on their website. My holy grails are VERSED - PHOTOS, PLEASE BRIGHTENING TIGHTENING MASK and VERSED - Doctor's Visit The ordinary: this is a great brand as it is super affordable and it’s cruelty free. The way I like to benefit from this brand is to try out ingredients to see what works for my skin, their serums are my favourite. My holy grail is The Ordinary - "Buffet" + Copper Peptides 1% The Inkey lists: this brand is similar to the ordinary but I think some of their formulas are better. They focus on ingredients that allow me to find the best ingredients for my skin, they are also cruelty free. My holy grail isTHE inkey LIST - Q10 Antioxidant Serum Cosrx:this brand was my introduction to K-beauty and they are very accessible through Amazon ( also cruelty free). They focus on the primary ingredient that is either natural or chemical. I love that they are pushing the bounds of skincare (cruelty free). My holy grail is NIOD - Modulating Glucosides
HELP I’ve tried everything!
I’ve been trying to take extra care of my skin for the past 4 months but nothing seems to be working. Morning routine: CeraVe - Salicylic Acid Facial Cleanser The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin CeraVe - Mineral Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30 for Face with Zinc Oxide Night routine: THE FACE SHOP - Rice Water Bright, Light Cleansing Oil CeraVe - Salicylic Acid Facial Cleanser The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% CeraVe - SA Lotion For Rough & Bumpy Skin pura d'or - 100% Rosehip Seed Oil Every few nights, I alternate between Paula’s Choice 2% BHA exfoliant and the CeraVe Resurfacing Retinol in place of The Ordinary Niacinamide. In addition to this routine, I wash my pillow case every week, eat relatively healthy, and don’t wear any makeup. I also use The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solutiononce a week for 10 minutes. I have acne-prone combination skin. My struggles are acne scars and bumps/texture on my cheeks. I’d especially like to know how to get rid of the bumps and what’s causing them. I also recently abstained from my actives for 2 weeks in hopes of my skin clearing up but that obviously didn’t work. I’ve been using my CeraVe products for almost 2 years. My skin only started breaking out more once I incorporated more products little by little. I don’t think this is considered purging because this has been going on for 3 months. I also don’t think this is maskne because I rarely leave my house. PLS HELP! I feel like I’ve done all I can. I can’t even see a dermatologist because I don’t have insurance. #help #helpmyskin
NEED HELP! YesStyle Haul: What do I do??
So I’ve been watching James Welsh videos (love him to bits) and decided I’m going to really, finally, actually, seriously create and follow a skincare routine. I’ve made that decision maybe 14 times already in the last 5 years but something tells me I’m really going to follow through with it this time..!🤞🏻 I got COSRX - Low PH Good Morning Gel Cleanser, COSRX - BHA Blackhead Power Liquid, I'm from - Rice Toner, PURITO - Centella Green Level Buffet Serum, PURITO - Pure Vitamin C Serumand THE FACE SHOP - Rice & Ceramide Moisturizing Facial Toner. I know the basic order of things: cleanser, toner, serum, moisturizer... But I have 2 serums here (I think), and I’m not sure if some of these products are better for am or pm, and/or if they’re not meant to be layered on top of each other... Please send help!😣 Here’s what I was thinking of doing: AM: 1. Cleanse with the gel cleanser 2. BHA power liquid 3. Rice ceramide emulsion PM: 1. Cleanse with gel cleanser 2. Rice toner 3. Vitamin c serum 4. Centella serum 5. Rice ceramide emulsion I’m worried about doing BHA and Vitamin C serum together. How would you do it?
Everyday makeup tutorial
Hi Y’all! My Name is Tara and I’m new to Cherie! I’m a 16 year old who’s about to go into my junior year of High school and this is my everyday natural makeup. Fondation and concealer it Cosmetics - CC+ Cream Illumination SPF 50+ Too Faced - Born This Way Super Coverage Multi-Use Concealer Bronzer PHYSICIANS FORMULA - Murumuru Butter Bronzer Eyes L'ORÉAL - Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara TONYMOLY - Back Gel Eyeliner Blush THE FACE SHOP - Apeach Pastel Cushion Blusher Kakao Friends Limited Edition Lips FENTY BEAUTY - Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer Note: for my brows I used the mascara on my brows to give them a natural look. Just put brush your brows up, and blend them out with a spoolie. I also used my bronzer as a eyeshadow to give my eyes some debt. I like to use some of my products for multiple use that way I can save money. ;)
Korean Blush 🍑
I bought the Color #3 Pink and it looks so natural! The packaging is also very cute too! I would buy another color! I bought this in korea for very good price. The link should still allow you to get it for affordable price. THE FACE SHOP - Apeach Pastel Cushion Blusher Kakao Friends Limited Edition
Acne getting worse this year
Hi guys! I’m new to Cherie. I am 22 years old and have always had occasional pimples along with black heads on my nose but now my acne is out of control. On my chin line the pimples are constant and then I have large painful pimples which come up on my checks. Plus, textured forehead with occasional pimples. I began with trying the 10 step Korean skin care routine with the double cleanse which helped my redness and made my face look bright but did not help with the acne Then I tried black wolf face wash which seems to help but doesn’t stand a chance against my 12hr work days. Now: I’m trying smacne which seemed to have a lot of good reviews. SMACNE - Acne Treatment 30 Day Kit but have only used it for a few days For years I have used LANEIGE - Water Sleeping Mask which I love! It seems to improve my face over night Clean&Clear - Advantage Acne Spot Treatment CeraVe - Hydrating Sunscreen Face Lotion SPF 50- I hate the texture of this sunscreen but it was $15 so I’m trying to use it up I am on birth control and when talking to my doctor she said I should see a dermatologist because BC should only help acne not cause/ worsen it. I have reduced the dairy I consume, I drink green smoothies with fruits, veggies, flax seed, collagen, and apple cider vinegar most mornings. I also try to drink lots of water. This is kinda my last ditch effort before seeing a dermatologist. I legit am happy to be required to wear a mask at work because i am not confident with my skins current state. Thank you in advance for any advice! Right now I’m just trying to try one new thing at a time and give it plenty of weeks to see the effect. Full list of products that I have tried: THE FACE SHOP - Rice Water Bright, Light Cleansing Oil THE FACE SHOP - Rice Water Bright Rice Bran Cleansing Foam COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Medicated Gel Cleanser for Acne Prone Skin dear, klairs - Supple Preparation Facial TonerThe Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling SolutionI think my skin is too sensitive for this HOLIKA HOLIKA - Good Cera Super Ceramide Cream (MALIN+GOETZ) - Grapefruit face cleanser- this used to work for me but it stopped helping with my acne SKINFOOD - Royal Honey Essential Queen's Serumdear, klairs - Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Drop HUM - Daily Cleanse Detox Supplement
Morning Skin - Thoughts and current routine
Summary: Probably should have smiled in the photo, but overall, I’d say I’m pretty happy with my skin at the moment. I’m definitely a fan of Korean skincare products as a whole - they’re inexpensive and nice quality. I’ve listed them down below, but I won’t go into too much detail here since I’m planning on making individual posts about them. Things I’m happy about: - Acne My skin has never been extremely acne-prone, but I’ve definitely had my fair number of flare-ups, particularly around the temple area. I’m pretty sure I spent a solid 6 months with rotating bumps around the top right and left of my forehead. After moving states and changing up a couple things in my routine, it seems to be pretty settled now. - Texture Yoooooo my skin feels soft when I wake up now and it’s so nice. Things to work on: - Under eye bags Sigh, this comes heavily from genetics (my mom has the same exact under eye bags) but not too sure how to tackle this one. I’ve been looking at a green tea based cleanser or some serums. Right now, just concealer will have to do 😔 - Redness/pigmentation You can’t see it too clearly in the photo, but I have some redness/patchiness around my cheeks. It’s not very noticeable from afar but something I always notice looking in the mirror. Nighttime Routine (from left to right): innisfree - Hydrating Micellar Cleansing Water THE FACE SHOP - Rice Water Bright Foaming Cleanser MISSHA - Time Revolution Clear Toner Dr.G - Brightening Peeling Gel SK-II - Facial Treatment Oil Dr.G - RED-BLEMISH Clear Cream Any face masks Note: I only use the peeling gel and the face masks twice a month.
🍚 Empty! The Face Shop Rice Water Bright 🍚
THE FACE SHOP - Rice Water Bright Foaming Cleanser About me 🤗 and the product 🍚Skin type/skin tone I have combination skin. My t-zone is in the range of normal to oily skin and I have dry skin on my cheeks. My skin tone is warm ivory with a slight reddish discoloration in my cheeks 🧐I also have some freckles across my cheeks and my nose bridge. My skin type for the rest of my body is dry. 🍚Product function The product claims to wash away makeup using a deep-foaming effect, brighten skin ✨✨, and moisturize it as well 💦 🍚Texture/consistency The product is a thick and creamy paste before water and lathering it. After working the paste, it becomes a dense, smooth and soft whipped cream textured foam 😍 . 🍚Packaging The packaging is a squeeze tube with a simple close top mechanism for the top. Beauty story 📖 🍚Overall experience I heard lots of good things about this product so I wanted to try it out of curiosity 🤔. Before I bought this product I had a cream from them which was pretty good so I thought I’d be adventurous and give the cleanser a try. 🍚Verdict💔💔 I didn’t really like the product. After using the product, I felt like my skin was stripped dry of all its oils and moisture. I dont know if it’s because my face is already partially dry but after using the product my face did not feel moisturized as it claimed to have done😤. Also, i dont know if it’s because my face is sensitive, but after using the product it became irritated and tight 😥 🍚Recommend?👎🏻👎🏻 ❌I would not recommend this to people with combination, dry, or sensitive skin because it dries out the skin and irritates it. ✅I would recommend trying though if you have oily skin since it does a great job in washing everything off. It also does make the skin tone brighter as it has claimed. 🍚Worth it?💰 The product was around $8 for 150ml so not extremely expensive. It would be worth ✅it if you’re looking for a strong cleanser but not worth ❌it if you’re looking for a gentle cleanser that moisturizes the skin at the same time. I for sure will not be buying this again and I’m glad I finally emptied it!
Best Affordable Cleansing Oil
I have been double cleansing for quiet some time now, almost 7 years. There were trials and errors along the way of finding the right product for my skin. I first learned about cleansing oil from a youtuber and been doing it religously ever since. I first stumble upon a Korean cleansing oil which was great one. THE FACE SHOP - Rice Water Bright Light Cleansing Oil This cleansing oil is still my best experience with cleansing oils. However I wanted something that I can grab easily and I found PALMER'S - Cocoa Butter Formula Skin Therapy Cleansing Oil Face it feels a little thicker than TheFaceShop but still does the job very well. When I was surfing for more of their products on their website, I found another “Ultra Gentle” version. #Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula - Ultra Gentle Facial Cleansing Oil[products]#[FiveStars] Both offer almost similar feelings on my skin. Their ingredients are 90% the same. Some of the oils in them are : Soybean oil, Sweet Almond, Apricot oil, Grape Seed oil, Argan oil, Jojoba and Rice Bran oil. Both have fragrance in them(almost the last ingredient) but not overpowering it’s actually a pleasant smell plus they’re ophthalmologist approved!! I don’t wear makeup everyday, but when I do this cleansing oil removes makeup and foundation very well. I use one and a half to 2 pumps for my face and neck on my pm routine. I combine cleansing and massaging almost everyday. One bottle lasts me a long time. You can find them at Walmart, Target or other drugstores, they’re out of stock pretty often, that’s how you can tell it’s almost everyone’s favorite product. I recommend to order it from their website if you can’t get them at the stores. They’re very affordable, under $10 for 190ml/ 6.5 oz on their website. Overall, it is a very good cleansing oil to consider for skincare routine. I’ve used Palmer’s cleansing oil for 2 years now, and it has never failed me. Please let me know if you have any question on your precious comments down below. And have a wonderful day 💕
Hi! Just wanted to share my opinion on these products (by the way first photo isn’t mine and I use the rich cleansing oil, not the light one) The Face Shop Rice Water Rich Cleansing Oil -When I first started doing skincare one of the first products I got was a k-beauty cleansing oil, but I didn’t know it was also a makeup remover before since I never used makeup. (And I didn’t know that double-cleansing existed!) For some reason it still worked well for me and also helped brighten my skin. When I did start using makeup while still having this cleanser in my arsenal it did and worked wonders, it took off my mascara so easily and under-eye concealer. It does have a fragrance to it but it’s never bothered or irritated my skin, I have combination skin and this formula is like a normal oil cleanser when pumped out but when it comes into contact with water it becomes like a type of water-based milky look and texture. Since it also incorporates rice water it would help with the dryness in my cheeks and also hydrate my dehydrated skin if that makes sense haha Farmacy Green Clean I have been recently trying out the Farmacy Green Clean cleansing balm in my double cleansing routine and it works amazingly! A little bit goes a long way and it helps remove makeup and spf! I love how it just melts everything off without having to scrub harshly. Tbh the main reason I incorporated this into my skincare is because I saw Liah Yoo’s review on this and how she loves using it, I really recommend her channel and products (Krave Beauty ❤️❤️) I used to use the Drunk Elephant No.9 Cleanser but I’ll make a review on that another day! So far i’ve been loving green clean but I don’t really like it’s formulation in some aspects.
Derma Roller Controversy
Oh how I have heard all kinds of horror stories as well as success stories 🤷🏻♀️. I triedZUSTBEAUTY - DERMA ROLLER KIT Here is my anecdotal account and opinion: Do NOT use a dermal roller if you have sensitive skin or the propensity to irritate easily. Do NOT use a derma roller without doing the best research as you possibly can. Be careful and follow directions as precisely as instructed. My first try: It's not as scary as some people make it out to be. It is important to note that I am 34 years old and do NOT have sensitive skin. I followed directions precisely as indicated in the pamphlet. It was 0.3mm needles and they didn't hurt me. I sanitized the roller before and after. It has titanium needles. After use I applied the Vitamin C 25% Serum and the collagen cream in the kit. I feel fine. I've actually gotten hurt more by St. Ives Apricot Scrub. I would definitely not use this more than once a week. To give an adequate review I need to do for about a month. So far so good. Before the derma roll I used THE FACE SHOP - Rice Water Bright Cleansing Foam because it's a gentle cleanser for me (last picture). Follow up review in a month!
The face shop the solution brightening sheet mask is a sheet mask for all skin types to hydrate skin and brighten. It targets dullness and pigmentation. It has a semi-clear gel texture and a white cotton mask. Overall, I really like this product. I bought it last year in korea because I wanted a new sheet mask and this was on sale. I like this because I saw results and it kept my skin bright and hydrated. It contains a lot of calming ingredients and left skin bright and glowy. I would recommend this to others because it is fairly cheap and effective. It will make your skin bright and hydrated after use, but doesn’t especially help with dark spots in particular. It mainly brightens the entire complexion. This is worth the price because it is fairly cheap and leaves my skin brightened every time I use it. THE BODY SHOP - Tea Tree Face Mask (tagged other product, will change once Cherie adds this one)
CHIA SEED MOUSTURIZER?! YES PLS💗
If y’all have never tried anything from the face shop, I highly recommend trying their chia seed line. Not only has their chia seed like helped me keep my skin clear, I always go back to this moisturizer because this will forever bring my skin back to the way it should be! ✨ If you saw my Clinique moisturizer review, you’ll know I started breaking out from using that, it made me miserable waking up everyday with a new pimple so immedietly I knew I had to go back and grab this! 💁🏽♀️ Which is what I did and NO JOKE, the next day, I didn’t wake up with a new pimple and today, I don’t have any on my skin! Research more on chia seed skincare and you’ll read about how great it is for those with acne prone, sensitive oily skin! This glides on the skin and is think yet so light on the skin and keeps me moisturized all day🎊 I LOVE ITTHE FACE SHOP - Chia Seed Hydro Cream

Silky ✨ but sticky 🥵
THE FACE SHOP - Olive Moisture Shine Hand Lotion Got this Olive moisture shine hand lotion from The Face Shop as a free gift (I was so excited because it was full size 🤩) Upon first applying it it has a soft ☁️ and milky 🐄 texture with a light refreshing scent 🌱 After it dries up, however, it feels a bit sticky 🥵 and low key smells like play-doh 😳 Is this my go to hand lotion? 🧐 No 🥱 but will I use it when I’m too lazy and it’s sitting on my desk ?👀 probably 🤥
THE FACE SHOP-Olive Moisture Shine Hand Lotion
Quick review of The Face Shop’s Rice Water Bright Light Cleansing Oil (wew, a mouthful) and the Althea Petal Velvet Sunaway! Let’s start with the oil cleanser, as the name implies this has a very light texture compared to others that I’ve tried. A bit too scented for my liking but it doesn’t linger that much once you massage it onto your face. Leaves a light residue which can be easily washed off once you move on to your second cleanser! The sunscreen on the other hand has been one of my go-to’s lately—extremely lightweight and no white cast. Has Damask rose petals that helps your skin stay fresh and hydrated throughout the day. Definitely a must-try!

Help with wrinkles at 16?
I’m 16 and feel like I have more wrinkles than usual for my age. Are there any cheap, antiaging creams that are good and under $10? Currently my skincare routine is: Morning: 1. Gentle slaps of Dr. Belmeur Toner around whole face (THE FACE SHOP - Daily Repair, Facial Toner ), 2. Apply pea-size amt. of Aveeno Daily Moisturizer to face and neck. (Aveeno - Daily Moisturizing Lotion ) My night routine is the same.
THE FACE SHOP- Daily Repair, Facial Toner
I would say this is a mild cleansing product that removes makeup residues without irritation I usually just rub it on my face with my hands then wash off with water and it feels so good The liquid is clear and viscous, and smells faintly of flowers. A small pump makes a big difference so no need to drown your skin in oil. Give it a try your skin will feel baby smooth THE FACE SHOP - Rice Water Bright, Light Cleansing Oil

This Black-Owned CBD Line Puts Community At The Center of WellnessCBD that is compassionate, effective, and gives back to the community? Yes, please!Feb. 5
My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
