Shower/ bath essentials
-First product is Dr Teal's - Melatonin Sleep Soak Pure Epsom Salt honestly after a hard day of work/ school or whatever you do this is amazing to relax you over same thing with the foaming bath -Second product is ST. Ives - Renewing Collagen Elastin Moisturizer honestly this is meant for the face but the fragrance is super strong so I use it after the shower on certain areas of my body such as knees, elbows, and feet. - Next, is the dove gentle exfoliator which smells amazing and is such a gentle scrub for your skin so if you have sensitive skin like me I recommend this - Next essential is the cake - The Head Strong Volume Boosting Scalp Scrub I love this product but the only problem is that it dries out my hair but the Marc Anthony conditioner fixes it and my scalp and hair is squeaky clean and likes so healthy!!! - Lasty, I use the baby dove soap which I use more often because I found it to be the most gentle on my skin since I have eczema and it smells amazing and leaves my skin glowing and moisturized.

As most of you saw in my last post I spoke about being cautious of what products you put on your face. 🌋IS THIS SAUNA SCRUB JUST BOOGIE ST IVES?! 🌋
🌋Ohhh the horror, I never really thought about this much until yesterday when I was using this scrub and it occurred to me the little particles weren’t uniform, and I remembered watching a video of Dr.Shah putting the St. Ives scrub under a microscope showing that the microbeads weren’t uniform and some were even jagged that could be damaging to the skin. 🌋Anywayyyyys the TL:DR answer is NO, the OLE HENRIKSEN - Pore-Balance Facial Sauna Scrub is not the same as ST. Ives - Acne Control Apricot Scrub . 🌋Sometimes, I just feel like I need a little texture. A gentle physical exfoliant, that is a little more satisfying then their straight chemical exfoliant counterparts. Especially in the morning if I’ve maybe over did it with the facial oil or moisturizer. With the cooler months rolling in especially, I’m grabbing the Sauna Scrub more and more for a quick spa like experience in the shower. 🌋I love the warming effects, that turns into a refreshing cool sensation. My skin always feels squeaky clean, and soft after this scrub. 🌋The particles are beneficial for luminous skin, the innate richness of volcanic black sand make it an excellent ingredient for skin purifying, detoxifying, anti-stress and contain protective properties to increase the natural defence of skin. 🌋This scrub also contains AHA’s - lactic and glycolic acid do you are getting the best of both exfoliant worlds. 🌋At $37 for a 3oz product, with a 12 month lifespan this will easily carry you through all your fall winter exfoliation needs. 🌋Now, where it loses a star for me is a couple things mid way down the ingredients list. Eucalyptus leaf oil, peppermint oil and limonene are all know skin irritants, so where I’m comfortable with this products those with really sensitive skin might not be. 🌋Another thing to remember, is with AHA’s present in the scrub it is super important that you slather on that SPF and keep that new skin looking firm and fresh ✨💛

Dry Skin? Heres the products you NEED!
We all know how tough dry skin can be, as someone who used to struggle with extremely dry skin which has my moisture barrier still damaged and created hyper pigmentation in my skin, heres some products that can help heal it, as well as products that are made for dry skin. Avène - Cicalfate Restorative Skin Cream This mostriuser is a thick restoring product, but is not oily or sticky at all. It minimises redness through its products and blue tint, as well as giving you a non oily glow without any break outs. Cetaphil, QV, Sukin, Cerave did not work for me when using their mostriusers. My skin was so dull and dehydrated until finding this product. Avène - Skin Recovery Cream Rich This mostriuser is a thinner mostriuser, I would reccomend this after an exfoiliater or scrub as it helps restore the damage afterwards, but not long term like the first product I mentioned. laura mercier - Flawless Fusion Ultra-Longwear Concealer With dry skin, its hard to find a concealer that doesnt cling to ur imperfections and flaky skin, or something that doesnt make you look cakey within one drop. This concealer is absolutely amazing for dry skin, and it makes it appear as if you arent wearing anything at all! I highly reccomend this conclear, its medium-light coverage depending on the shade you get. Heres some products that are popular BUT are not good for your skin. AT ALL! sukin - Detoxifying Facial Scrub Super Greens CLINIQUE - CLINIQUE Face Scrub for Men ST. Ives - Gentle Smoothing Oatmel Scurb & Mask ANY PHYSICAL EXFOILATER OR SCRUB (this is just a few) Scrubs are extremely damaging especially for dry skin. While the benifets of exfoilating are very promising, its way better to invest into chemical exfoiliants rather than physical. FENTY BEAUTY - Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Concealer This concealer is popular and was my first, it is very good for normal-oily skin types but it seems to cling on to imperfections on dry skin. Ive mixed in a mostriuser into mine and its going pretty well, but its not a good concealer to start with. HOPE THIS HELPED<3

Drugstore Beauty - Skincare
I’ve used name brand facial wash/cleanser/scrubs and they would either make my skin super dry, irritated, or break me out more🤦🏾‍♀️ I couldn’t catch a break! Lol. I went Rite Aid and bought a few different face washes. Believe it or not they actually cleared my skin waaaay better than any other facial wash I paid $40+ for. Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser ▪️it’s soothing, does not cause irritation. Helps retain needed moisture for skin. Can use with or without water. Ideal for ALL skin types - mainly because it’s fragrance free and non-comedogenic; meaning it doesn’t clog your pores. I used this for a quick rinse when I haven’t really been doing much and don’t have make up on and want to feel refreshed. I especially use it after using the BHA AHA peel from Ordinary because that alone is already pretty intense on your skin and in my opinion, using another intense wash could cause a reaction or peeling I don’t want hahah. Neutrogena - Oil-Free Acne Stress Control, Power-Cream Wash ▪️This product does clear oil so I don’t really recommend for dry skin types. Helps with breakouts and fights against acne before emerging. Does exfoliate and leave skin smooth and soft to touch. It has green tea 🍵, cucumber 🥒, and skin soothers. This is my usual every day face wash if not this than usually it’s any St. Ives face wash to be honest. I kinda rotate between the two. ST. Ives - Gentle Smoothing Oatmel Scurb & Mask ▪️Helps with dryness and even assist with evening skin texture. Paraben and oil free. 100% natural exfoliants. 2-in-1 product, can be used for a mask or a scrub. This also does not clog pores. It’s very soothing and makes your skin so supple and soft. This is another jam of mine. Honestly, I rock with St. Ives haha. They are another product that helps with keeping my skin soft and clear as well!

Professionally, I Do Not Like St. Ives Apricot Scrub
I remember using St. Ives Apricot Scrub when I was a young teen because, at that time, it was a popular product.  More recently, St. Ives Apricot scrub has fallen out of favor because it allegedly cause micro-tears in the skin.  There was even a lawsuit against the parent company Unilever, which was eventually dismissed.   Scrubs are meant to exfoliate, or remove dead skin cells.  There are 2 different types of exfoliation, depending on the ingredients.  One is chemical and theater is physical.  Chemical exfoliators have a smoother texture and have less potential for damaging the skin. I find that there are more problems and more chance for overuse of products with physical beads rather than chemical ones.  St. Ives uses physical beads made of walnut shells.  If you must use a product with physical beads, stick to jojoba beads.   If you over use any exfoliator, you can cause problems with your skin.  It can lead to redness, inflammation, infection and tears in your skin.  Your skin will feel itchy, sore or burning.  Ultimately, continued over use could lead to scarring.  So it is important to only exfoliate 1-2 times a week and to use a gentle product that has a chemical exfoliator.    Patients with active rashes, active infections, cystic/inflammatory acne and skin cancers should avoid exfoliation.  If you have sensitive skin, you still may be able to use and exfoliator under your doctor’s supervision.  You should always consult with your dermatologist before beginning any regimen.

Looking Dull after Too Many Late Nights? Great Tips to Look Fresh and Glowy!
Every now and then, all of us have need to pull that all-nighter for that project deadline (or party) and end up sleeping poorly, or not at all. Most of the time, we wake up looking like one of the living dead, with dull and lacklustre skin, and dark eye circles and obvious fine lines. Here are some of my tips to treat my combination skin so that it looks refreshed and alive for any social activity. Wake Up Your Skin To give my face a lift and glow at the same time, I cleanse my face with a natural facial scrub with uplifting scents. I use ST. Ives - Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub to get rid of remaining gunk on my face and a quick polish. Washing with cold water aslo helps to constrict the blood vessels in my face and to reduce any redness from the lack of sleep. Light Up The Eyes People notice the eyes first, so I’ll give extra attention to ensure that my peepers look normal and fresh. Once my face is cleansed, I use simple cold eye masks using sliced fresh cucumbers or frozen spoons to deflate puff, sleepy eyes. I placed the sliced cucumbers on my eye lids for 10 to 15 minutes to reduce inflammation, lighten dark circles, and wake up tired eyes. Alternatively, I press the back of frozen spoons on my eye lids for the same benefits. If I am pressed for time, I use my palms to gently press against my eye area for a relaxing and gentle massage to get the blood circulation going. Lastly, I slather a trusy eye cream for additional depuff support. Before the Zoom call starts, I add a few drops of redness-reducing eye drops to look even fresher. Depuff with A Face Roller The suggestive-looking ReFa - Carat Ray Face has been my lifesaver for as long as I can remember now. Coated with platinum suitable for all skin types (even sensitive skin), the device is fitted with a solar panel on the body to generate a soothing microcurrent as well as two mid-size double drainage rollers – both replicating the deep kneading technique used by professional estheticians. The device helps to firm my dull skin’s appearance while reduce the pesky fine lines and morning puffiness in less than 5 minutes. I use this as a last step after my skincare routine, before adding sunscreen.

WORST SKINCARE OF 2020!
My last post was on my picks for the best 2020 skincare, but now we’re talking about the worst skincare products. Unfortunately there’s a lot of bad products out there, especially with skincare becoming a huge trend. Keep in mind these are my opinions and thoughts, and everyone’s skin is different. Cleanser: For cleaner I’ve chosen The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser which is $7.90 for 1 fl oz on Sephora. This cleanser is ok, and squalane is normally a great hydrating ingredient, but in my experience and through what many reviews say, this product does almost nothing for your skin, so I would pass on this one. Exfoliator: This exfoliator is the worst one ever! It has fragrance, is a walnut scrub, meaning the exfoliants are huge and pointy, and it doesn’t break down with water., making you scrub even harder to get it off. It also has alcohol. I’m talking about the ST. Ives - Acne Control Face Scrub With Salicylic Acid Do not get this product ever, ever, ever! Toner: I’ve said I don’t think toners are necessary, and that continues with the MARIO BADESCU - Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater If you insist on a toner, don’t get a Mario Badescu one. That includes their face mists to. Why? Because they have tons of fragrance, and alcohol! I have two whole posts on why those ingredients are bad. This is a no. Serum: More Mario Badescu products on this list. These aren’t bad, I mean it’s hard to get a serum wrong, but they just are so overpriced! They sell $35-$45 serums with formulas more basic the The Ordinary! If you love these, great! But if you’re on a budget, try The Ordinary instead. Face Mask: For face masks my pick is a little more general. I choose sheet masks. A sheet mask, is made of cloth, and soaked in serum. I have a few issues with sheet masks. First they’re very bad for the environment as they’re made of non biodegradable cloth and chemical serums. Secondly there’s the formulations themselves. These masks have tons of fragrance, alcohol, and are made with low quality serums. Instead, I would get a nice fragrance free, alcohol free serum, for the same benefits but better. Moisturizer: For moisturizer I choose the Glossier. - Priming Moisturizer Balance . This moisturizer isn’t bad per say, but they market their product as hydrating and soothing, but it really isn’t more than any other product. The only hydrating ingredient they have is squalane, but it’s so far down the ingredient list that it won’t help with hydration that much at such a low dose. This moisturizer also has tons of essential oils and extracts, which can be extremely irritating to some skin types. Those are the terrible products I have! Give this post a cheer so we can warn more people about these products and comment below your least favorite product and why. Follow me on Cherie for more amazing content! -Mae

The BEST DUPE for St. Ives Apricot Scrub
A hot topic right now is discussing how damaging the ST. Ives - Acne Control Face Scrub With Salicylic Acid I’m sure we all have used this scrub once in our lives and can say how much we regret it. On the bright side, I’m happy to share my amazing dupe for this scrub that won’t cause micro tears and irritation to the skin! CLARISMA - Malibu Blush Exfoliating Scrub is by far the best scrub on the market and I do not say this lightly. I have acne prone sensitive skin and most scrubs are way too harsh on my skin. However, this scrub is so gentle and helps me maintain clear, smooth skin! I use this scrub 1-2x a week depending on how my skin is feeling. The three main ingredients are; Neem, Pineapple, and Luffa Fruit! Neem has great antibacterial properties and helps reduce inflammation. Pineapple is used to brighten and exfoliate the skin with the enzymes derived from it. Lastly, the Luffa Fruit are the particles that act as the physical exfoliant and breakdown as you press into them. If you try this dupe, let me know what you think!

🧴simple skincare for normal/combination skin🧴
hi loves! this is my first post on cherie so i decided to share my daily routine for the past few weeks and how these products have changed my skin! note: i exfoliate once a week with either Avène - Gentle Scrub or ST. Ives - EVEN AND BRIGHT PINK LEMON AND MANDARIN ORANGE SCRUB depending on the texture of my skin. products in order of use: VICHY - Pureté Thermale Mineral Micellar Water for Sensitive Skin my experience: i like this product. it leaves my skin clean but not feeling tight. my only complaint is it struggles to take off waterproof makeup. overall, i would rate it 4 out of 5. disclaimer: it does have perfume in it! pixi - Glow Tonic To-Go Pads my experience: several people recommended this to me to help with enlargened and clogged pores, and i am so happy i bought it. i’ve noticed immediate results; my pores are visibly smaller and the bumps on my chin are shrinking. i haven’t experienced any severe irritation from it. i give it 5 out of 5 stars and will continue using it! disclaimer: it has AHAs in it so be careful if you have sensitive skin! VICHY - Minéral 89 Face Serum my experience: i have been sporadically using this serum for the past few months but only recently buckled down to daily use. the hyaluronic acid in this has made my skin brighter and more plump. it has no perfumes or oil and it makes your skin feel immediately hydrated with no residue. the product does exactly what it promises to, and subsequently i give it a 4 out of 5. pixi - Phenomenal Gel my experience: this moisturizer is nothing to write home about. i switched to this from POND'S - Facial Moisturizers Dry Skin Cream just for something new and i was advised to use it with the Glow Tonic. it is non-scented and leaves a slightly greasy residue. i have noticed no change in my skin since starting to use it. it isn’t a bad product, but it certainly isn’t anything special. if you have normal skin it may work as something to just throw on. i give it a 2 out of 5. JOUVIANCE - Restructiv Lash FX Lash & Brow Fortifying Serum + Primer my experience: i have had nearly invisible eyelashes for the better part of my life and have been actively seeking ways to grow my eyelashes and eyebrows without breaking the bank and found this. in two weeks of use, i have noticed subtle eyelash growth. the primer is applied with a spoolie and is dark enough to pass as mascara so i wear it alone. the serum is to be applied before bed with the thin brush included and you can hardly tell it’s there once it dries. so far i rate it 4 out of 5 but i am excited to see what results it may yield in a few more weeks! if anyone has any comments or recommendations they are SO welcome! i hope you enjoyed reading! -c

Zoinks I’m Out
I’m a little conflicted about ST. Ives - EVEN AND BRIGHT PINK LEMON AND MANDARIN ORANGE SCRUB which is why I gave it 3 stars. On one hand, it totally works. It clears off my dead skin cells and brightens my complexion instantly - exactly like in the commercials! But excessive use can be detrimental. When I was younger and used this scrub for the first time, I made the mistake of exfoliating with it every other day. Stick to perhaps twice a week with this one! The granules are a little large in this product and can be quite abrasive and tugging to the skin. That aside, if you need a hit of Vitamin C, and wanna shed some skin, St. Ives it is. Though, since emptying this, I’m looking forward to using gentler exfoliants.

Glow recipe watermelon moisturizer DUPE
I just wanted to share this. I found the st.ives watermelon glowing moisturizer is a pretty spot on dupe for the glow recipe watermelon moisturizer. The st Ives formula actually has niacinamide in it. The smell is spot on and it gives me a wonderful glow. It does dry down tacky but I find it perfect to use under makeup applicationST. Ives - Watermelon Glowing Oil-Free Daily Face Moisturizer

Did we find a juicy dupe!?
So I found the St Ives oil free watermelon moisturizer and immediately needed to know if it was a dupe for the famous Glow Recipe pink juice moisturizer! So I’m going to do point form for the differences, let’s go: St Ives -texture is bouncy and thicker -feels sticky and thick gel on the skin -smell is artificial like candy -niacinamide, lack of hyaluronic acid -$10.00 -Drugstore availability -In a Tub -plastic packaging -less “clean” ingredients Glow Recipe -texture is light like a serum -feels light and soaks in immediately and plumps up the skin -smell is less artificial and like a jolly rancher -lots of hyaluronic acid -$50.00 -Sephora or Glow Recipe website -convenient and sanitary pump -glass packaging -more “clean” ingredients So all in all I do not think we have a dupe here. The Glow Recipe has a higher concentration of real watermelon and the St Ives is more just watermelon scented. The big difference too is that St Ives won’t hydrate the skin nearly as much as Glow Recipe. I have dry skin so I really like the Glow Recipe, plus the better more potent watermelon and ingredient deck make it a superior product. But if you’re on a budget, the St Ives isn’t a bad product. It will brighten. I have used both in the morning since I like a lighter hydration in the am and they both work really well with my makeup and fav SPF. I haven’t quite used them long enough to notice a difference, but Glow Recipe definitely plumps the skin do to the HA and sadly haven’t noticed any brightening from the niacinamide in the St Ives. Question: do you love watermelon??

Newbie here
I don’t really know much about skin care and have little products that I use daily. I have combination skin, slightly sensitive. I wash my mask every other day, I think it has something to do with my pillow because the acne is grouping on the side I sleep on. I don’t wear much face makeup, the occasional light blush. I also have a theory about some of the acne around my hairline, recently I’ve started to wear my hair naturally and have been adding more product than usual. So this could be happening because of build up or maybe season change. Morning~ ST. More Drugstore Cleansers: Oily Skin
With CeraVe being sold out everywhere, it’s been hard to find a good alternative. The CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser was many people’s holy grail product which makes the constant sold out problem an issue. Here are some alternatives to use while this is all going on. Simple - Kind to Skin Foaming Facial Cleanser This is a very good foaming cleanser that rids the skin of dirt and excess oil. It had gentle cleansing agents and soothing ingredients meaning it doesn’t overly strip the skin. -Rinses cleanly without overly drying the skin. -Fragrance-free and formula is great for those with sensitive skin. OLAY - GENTLE FOAMING CLEANSER FRAGRANCE FREE This formula is fragrance-free and is ideal for all skin types. This product does well at cleansing the skin of dirt and excess oil without leaving a tight or dry feeling. -Includes aloe extract which is good for soothing skin. -Very affordable cleanser seeing as it retails for $4.99. ST. Ives - Calming Daily Cleanser Chamomile Surprisingly, a St.Ives product made it onto the list. This cleanser is definitely one of their better products because of its more gentle formula. It has gentle cleansing agents which help cleanse the skin from excess oil and dirt without drying out the skin. -The formula includes chamomile extract which is a very soothing ingredient. -The formula also contains Vitamin E, a great antioxidant, and panthenol which is a good skin-conditioning ingredient. -Fragrance-free. GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Foaming Face Wash This has a very gentle formula and the fact that it’s fragrance-free contributes to this. This product does remove makeup really well considering it has a micellar based formula. -Cleanses gently without leaving skin feeling stripped or tight. I hope this helps those who are dealing with this!

Now I think everyone is with me when I say that getting into a beauty regimen is HARD!!! Especially when it can be so time consuming after a shower and you want to just get right into doing some makeup!! I’m here to tell you, applying this over your whole body after a shower takes 3-5 minutes, and those 3-5 minutes are going to make your skin glow and feel soft for life! I urge EVERYONE to try this lotion!! You can even use it on your face!! 😍

I recently bought this body wash because it was on sale (and pink) 😆 and I wanted to try this Pink Lemonade & Mandarin Orange from stives. I also restocked on the Vanilla variant which smells really wonderful. Currently my fave! For this one, I thought it smelled nice as first then after awhile it reminded me of car refresheners.. haha I don’t know if it’s just me ~ It has fine gentle exfoliants that I really like. This btw has a preservative that’s recommended for rinse-off products called Methylisothiazolinone - it is known to be sensitizing when left anywhere the body. It has an EWH rating of 7. However, I didn’t react to it.

Do NOT recommend! If you’re using this, STOP!!
St. Ives Acne Control Scrub I started using this product when I was struggling with acne from playing sports, and I was super stressed in November of 2019. I was very new and UNEDUCATED in the skincare community who did not read ingredient lists or do any research on products. Please get educated with what you are using on your skin, which is precious. When I started using this product I did love the feeling of super soft skin and quick improvements of my skin. My acne did start going away. I loved it. But after looking into this product, I started realizing I was slowly damaging my skin. This scrub (which people should not use anyways) unfortunately leads to long term skin damage. The main ingredient is crushed walnut shell, which is not as broken down when used with water and on skin. It has jagged edges and can cause micro tears in skin. Although micro tears on your skin haven’t been proven, please do not take any risks and be ignorant. Some scrubs can be very harsh on your skin and this one is very harsh on your skin. They can also create broken capillaries on your face, which I do not recommend searching up. They can be caused by harsh skincare products, popping pimples to forcefully, UV damage (another reason to use sunscreen), windburns, etc.. Do your research. The point I am trying to make is to stop using these products. They are also made with fragrance which can be irritating to the skin. If you’re going to use scrubs, use as little as possible.
