Happy Monday Lovelies 💕
⠀ I’m feeling extremely exhausted this morning & not in the best of moods. I’ve been very anxious since I started working again and it really has affected my days. ⠀ Today in our #skincarestepspotlight I bring you my water based serums! These serums are used mainly in the morning and I find that these are the most affective when it comes to brightening and hydrating my skin. ⠀ My top 3 favorite serums are ⠀ ✨ Vitamin C: @farmacybeauty very cherry bright is my hands down favorite vitamin c! I have tried others and have liked them but there’s no other serum that I LOVE like my very cherry 🍒 ⠀ ✨ Hyaluronic Acid: thought they @deciem is not my favorite I do enjoy incorporating hyaluronic acid into my morning routine to give my skin a little extra hydration ⠀ ✨ lastly is a specific serum & it is the @eight_saints pep rally: this serum includes hyaluronic acid, vitamin c, and vitamin e. I love products that have many of my favorite ingredients and this one is a new favorite of mine! ⠀ ⠀ What’s your favorite water based serum?! Let me know in the comments below. Also are you enjoying this series?! I really do love sharing every Monday with you guys. The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 FARMACY - Very Cherry Bright 15% Clean Vitamin C Serum with Acerola Cherry EIGHT SAINTS - Pep Rally Gel Radiance Serum

Happy #watershotwednesday 💦
⠀ Today’s water shot is brought to you by my little brother being grounded and having nothing to do so he wanted to help me shoot! He may just become my new personal assistant haha. ⠀ I am so excited to share with you my 3 favorite products from @eight_saints . ⠀ As many of you know I have been trying out their discovery kit for the last week and though some of the products unfortunately didn’t work for me I am so happy that these 3 did. ⠀ 💧 Pep Rally: this hyaluronic acid serum i wasn’t actually surprised I enjoyed as I haven’t been able to find one that hasn’t left my skin feeling sticky. Not only does this one not feel sticky on my skin but it soaks into my skin rather quickly and leaves my skin so hydrated. Can be used in the morning and at night. EIGHT SAINTS - Pep Rally Gel Radiance Serum ⠀ 💧 No Plans: This desert rose mask is a new favorite of mine! It is a natural kaolin clay mask that helps to detox your skin while maintaining hydration. It’s easy to wash off and doesn’t irritate my skin. I use this at night 1-2 times a week. ⠀EIGHT SAINTS - No Plans 💧Daydreamer: This moisturizer is one of my favorites to use in the morning because of its light texture and moisturizing factors. It includes hyaluronic acid as well as organic oils and botanicals to give your skin hydration throughout the day. I prefer to use this in the morning. EIGHT SAINTS - Daydreamer ⠀ ⠀ *PR but thoughts are my own* ⠀

Eight Saints First Impression
I’m so excited to share with you guys two new products (and one old one but a fav) from @eight_saints 💕 I was so excited when they reached out, not only because I’ve heard great things about their products, but because they are cruelty free and made in the USA! Here’s a quick review of one of their products, Soulmate! Soulmate Brightening Treatment: I’ve only been using this for a little bit, but I can already tell I’m going to love this! It combines glycolic acid and hyaluronic acid to exfoliate the skin while also adding some needed hydration! I love a good chemical exfoliator, but this one is a bit pricey at $105! Will definitely have to keep you guys updated to see if there are long term results! ⁣EIGHT SAINTS - Soulmate

EIGHT SAINTS MORNING ROUTINE 🦋
EIGHT SAINTS - Bright Side This would not be a product I opt for in the future, just due to personal preference. If you are looking for an extremely gentle cleanser this just may be your HOLY GRAIL. For me it worked well enough and that is really it EIGHT SAINTS - Zen Out Of Ten After using the bright side cleanser as mentioned earlier I was happy to follow up with this. My skin felt very clean after, but this is not a daily use product as it is a mechanical exfoliator. This product exfoliates nicely leaving you with a glow after just one use. EIGHT SAINTS - Pep Rally Gel Radiance Serum I did feel hydrated after application, and liked the results. The only draw back ( which is definitely personal) It took longer than I would have wished for it to absorb in. EIGHT SAINTS - Seeking C I loved the way this absorbed right into my skin, and did not leave me feeling dry like some vitamin c products have in the past EIGHT SAINTS - Soulmate This brightening treatment smooths evenly over your skin, and works nicely as a primer under makeup. I do live products that have multi use and that is definitely influencing my decision on a five star rating over four EIGHT SAINTS - Day Dreamer “hydration hero” is how eight saint describes this product and I do have to agree. This delivered nice moisture through out the day and at no point on this humid hot summer day did it make my skin feel oily or suffocated. As I stated in my previous post this is also the recommended steps from Eight Saints for day time use. I have noticed my skin and complexion look smoother and brighter. As a whole I enjoyed these products more than the night time routine. I plan on following both Eight Saints regiments for the next few weeks to really give these products a chance. I look forward to giving you guys an update down the line 💕

EIGHT SAINTS NIGHT ROUTINE 🦋
EIGHT SAINTS - Down to Earth This is definitely a gentle cleanser if that is what you are looking for! For me I feel I had to double cleanse with it, which if I’m looking for something quick, is not always something I want to do. The POSITIVE is it really did leave my skin feel clean, soft, and still very hydrated, I did not get the right uncomfortable feeling I can’t stand with some cleansers. EIGHT SAINTS - No Plans I used this on a day my boyfriend was away for the weekend because I felt it fit! And I loved it from the moment I touched it. The consistency and application was smooth and flawless. It has a slight rose fragrance which isn’t always my favorite, but it was not off putting. My skin was smooth, hydrated, and noticeably happier when I removed it. EIGHT SAINTS - Night Shift Application was easy, and it was fast absorbing. My skin did feel slightly tighter and tacky after EIGHT SAINTS - All In Light weight, but did not feel like it absorbed well. Not wowed by it. EIGHT SAINTS - High Society Hydrating without suffocating. After applying this following the night shift I felt and instant relief from the tightness. My skin drank in everything in seconds and left me with a nice glow EIGHT SAINTS - Cloud Whip Appears to be a thicker cream in the container but almost melts on contact with the warmth of the skin. It delivers beautiful hydration while minimizing pore appearance and leaving a nice even complexion. One of my favorites for sure, which I did not expect it to be! This is the recommended night routine Eight Saints recommended following with the sample kit. As a whole I feel the results were good and my skin was happy. But looking at the prices of their full sized products I’m not compelled to purchase any of their products when I run out. I feel I have gotten just as good of results with more cost effective products

🧂Eight Saints Salt🧂:The Whites
You’ve been warned. Those with heart problems, please be advised that this is a high salt content post. I joined Cherie just to spill tea about this brand in particular so enjoy my miniseries on the pitfalls of paying for pretty and overformulated products. See my first post for a general brand spotlight, but here’s the essential tea for this brand: 🍵exorbitant prices are unreasonable 🍵overlapping actives making you buy more for no reason 🍵horrible sticky sweet smells to every product 🍵formulas that combine actives generally advised to be applied separately 🍵they didn’t improve my skin in two weeks nearly enough to buy anything more from them EIGHT SAINTS - Soulmate This face cream has a god-awful smell that reminds me of my granny’s old flowery perfumes, but I actually did like this treatment otherwise. It’s very basic, however, in that its main thrust is its glycolic acid content, an AHA chemical exfoliate, and the hyaluronic acid for hydration. This is no exclusive formula, however, so the price they ask seems trivial in the face of other affordable chemical exfoliating serums and treatments. Nothing unique here, but this one does its job. EIGHT SAINTS - Cloud Whip I had spent maybe two minutes on Google and lifestyle blogs and Reddit at my humble skincare roots before I knew that mixing actives is something of a science and art like alchemy or ceramics. Of course, I expect a high end skincare company to have more experience than I do in formulas and with lab equipment, but I’m truly shocked at how much overlap and contradictions on their own routines there are. This cloud whip is truly a hydrating night cream, but no one advises to apply Vitamin C in the PM, like no one advises to use AHAs in the AM. (This brand advises mixing these within products as well as applying them over each other day and night). Here is Vitamin C cream sitting there like a fat toad ready to croak how it knows skincare better than I do and that ten layers of Vitamin C and multiple doses of glycolic acid a day is a necessary and expensive thing. There’s no prince here to be found with a peck; I’ll pass letting this stuff close to my face again.

You’ve been warned. Those with heart problems, please be advised that this is a high salt content post. I joined Cherie just to spill tea about this brand in particular so enjoy my miniseries on the pitfalls of paying for pretty and overformulated products. See my first post for a general brand spotlight, but here’s the essential tea for this brand: 🍵exorbitant prices are unreasonable 🍵overlapping actives making you buy more for no reason 🍵horrible sticky sweet smells to every product 🍵formulas that combine actives generally advised to be applied separately 🍵they didn’t improve my skin in two weeks nearly enough to buy anything more from them EIGHT SAINTS - Zen Out Of Ten Guys, I’m super proud to present my first 1 star product review. I try to be fair and honest and keep my criticism and recommendations limited to what I can verify like the feeling, the effects, and the ingredients. But this product broke me. It smells straight up like rotten straw and that’s a very specific smell. It’s the only product of theirs that isn’t scented like a Willy Wonka fart but actually smells bad. The particles for physical exfoliating are big and sharp and leave a lot of redness behind. The ten mile long list of products following it in the 8S routine sink in and sting because of the micro tears in my skin. I’m not even completely against physical exfoliation, but this stuff is awful in every way. It was the first of their products I stopped using and emptied out because it bothered me in scent and effect so much. Now the container is being used for travel products so that’s the only use you’ll get out of this scrub. EIGHT SAINTS - Day Dreamer I want you to really reflect on what I mean by a Willy Wonka fart: tangy, sticky, fruity, sugary sweet but with a sour undertone. This cream is that and a handful of sprinkles. I’m not impressed at all by an expensive product having hydration and antioxidants and Vitamin E in it. My cheap moisturizer has all of that and costs a fraction. This product is also one of the several times in your daily 8S routines morning and night that you get a dose of hyaluronic acid and Vitamin E, so buckle in kids because you’re gonna see the same kid fall in the chocolate river ten times because this brand keeps throwing the same things at you again and again. My face hurt every time I did the routine, even when I pared it down to three or less products because my skin was sick of engorging itself on the same candy smelling mixtures again and again.

My morning routine for moisturized skin includes fresh - Soy Face Cleanser Jumbo this cleanser was given to me when I got my Clarisonic. It is very gentle and does a good job washing my skin without drying it out. I am finishing my EIGHT SAINTS - All In eye cream. This is an okay cream it doesn’t really sink in well but it is very hydrating. I will probably not rebuy and am looking for a new eye cream. Then I use SEPHORA COLLECTION - Ultra Glow Serum: Glow + Strengthen Vitamin C Serum I like the consistency of this serum but read a lot of reviews that say the vitamin c in this is not stabilized. I use it daily and I have noticed some glow but before I wasn’t using anything so I am not sure if it is just my routine or this specific product. I only use CLINIQUE - Acne Solutions Clinical Clearing Gel when I need spot treatment. This works very well but it is drying and strong. The smell burns my eyes. I have been using belif - The True Cream Aqua Bomb Aloe Vera which is very hydrating this is my second sample size but I think I will repurchase this when it runs out. I then use BURT’S BEES - Tinted Lip Balm for my lips. I love the red Dahlia color but the smell is terrible. Keeps my lips moisturized though so the product works. Any suggestions for an eye cream or vitamin c serum would be appreciated. Thanks!

🧂Eight Saints Salt🧂: The Navys
You’ve been warned. Those with heart problems, please be advised that this is a high salt content post. I joined Cherie just to spill tea about this brand in particular so enjoy my miniseries on the pitfalls of paying for pretty and overformulated products. See my first post for a general brand spotlight, but here’s the essential tea for this brand: 🍵exorbitant prices are unreasonable 🍵overlapping actives making you buy more for no reason 🍵horrible sticky sweet smells to every product 🍵formulas that combine actives generally advised to be applied separately 🍵they didn’t improve my skin in two weeks nearly enough to buy anything more from them EIGHT SAINTS - High Society I understand the importance of oils in skincare routines depending on your skin type, the oil’s actives, and your desired outcome. Like the whole brand, this oil includes overlap with other products so buying a “conditioning” oil whose only real active is Vitamin E seems superfluous and just another excuse to over complicate your routine and spend more money. As always, the classic 8S sticky sour smell is present and radiates from your face. EIGHT SAINTS - Night Shift Peptides and antibiotics I understand, but Vitamin C in a night cream? On top of their products during the day that have Vitamin C also? Your cleanser, your eye cream, your night cream, and your radiance serum all have it too. Wait, what’s the point of putting this on before your Vitamin C night cream? No clue. I’m tired of repeating myself about this brand, but if you’re looking for an over complicated routine close to $600 that uses the same actives over and over and smells like a candy factory’s waste sewer, then by all means splurge. I’m mad to have even given them my $10, so if you’re considering this kit or have seen others here throw stars at products because of the aesthetics or ethics of the brand, stay far away.

Free Samples in 2020 – Which Ones I’ll Be Purchasing!
Being a beauty-obsessed shopper in 2020 is hard. But free samples make it easier! With brands adding in more samples of their products than ever, shoppers can try snippets before purchasing the entire product. This psychologically-brilliant tactic is working for beauty brands, landing them more sales than ever. I think the reason free samples work so well is because: · Try before you buy, (the obvious) · Shoppers can purchase the full-size with confidence, resulting in fewer returns for the company · The risk-averse shoppers feel taken care of · Something about a gift triggers the human response of reciprocity (wanting to do something for them, like purchase more, once they have given you a gift) It’s truly a win-win. For context - My skin is oily, acne-prone, and also fighting anti-aging. A glorious trio. Here are some of my recent freebies from 2020 so far (going from left to right): ·The Curology Cleanser -        o Very gentle o  Lightweight o Made for all skin-types o Produced by leading dermatologists o You can purchase with a $40 bottle of customized formula for your skin-concerns, $40 covering a 2-month supply. The cleanser and moisturizer are the same for everyone, very gentle and neutral. Curology - The Cleanser   · The Purlisse Matcha Green Tea Lemon Detoxifying Charcoal Mask – o This mask is magical o Your face feels so clean after o Smells delicious o I use 2-3 times per week for a nice, gentle exfoliation o The charcoal cleanses and visibly tightens pores o The tea calms your skin o The lemon brightens with vitamin C o The full-sized product is $35.00 with a 5-star rating presently pūrlisse - Matcha Green Tea + Lemon Detoxifying Charcoal Mask  · 24K Gold Mineral Mud Mask from Ahava/Ulta – o Dead sea mud mask o LITERALLY GOLD (see picture for sample on my hand, didn’t want to waste much!) o It is very soft, and my face feels smoother after use o Some report breakouts afterward and there are mixed reviews o It leaves a glitter residue behind, unsure if some mistake that for the glow but I have experienced no breakouts o Full-sized product is $68.00 with a 3.2-star rating on Ulta AHAVA - 24K Gold Mineral Mud Mask   · Herbivore Botanical’s Phoenix Oil – o I use this in the mornings, 2-3 drops o It is for dry skin but I have oily skin, feels great and very moisturizing o Works for sensitive skin, anti-aging, dryness o Very lightweight o Made using rosehip, omega oils, vitamin A, and sea buckthorn o Herbivore is probably my favorite skincare line (vegan, product is concentrated and goes a long way, lasts for 6 months+ if used slowly, their products WORK!) o Uses Alpha Lipoic Acid to add a natural glow to skin o Large bottle is $88.00, again, will last you 6-months to a year if you take your time o You could use one drop a day if you wanted o Color will vary (I have noticed with their Lapis Blue Tansy oil that it got greener over time. You can see from my Phoenix sample in the picture that it is more yellow, whereas on the website it is more orange. This is likely due to oxidation and the potency of the product may be decreasing slightly as it is exposed to air).HERBIVORE - Phoenix Rosehip Anti-Aging Face Oil for Dry Skin   · Sunday Riley’s UFO Acne Treatment Oil – o 1.5% salicylic acid, to fight acne and breakouts o Clears pore congestion o Quite lightweight for an oil o Tea tree oil works great on my skin, with anti-fungal properties to fight bad bacteria o Vegan/fragrance/paraben-free o Emerald green in color o Full-sized product is $40.00 with 4.5-star ratings out of 34-reviews presently SUNDAY RILEY - U.F.O. Ultra-Clarifying Face Oil   ·  Eight Saint’s Bright Side – o A cleanser that utilizes antioxidants o Crème-based but not too heavy o Made using fruit and seed oils o The smell is citrusy and fruity o Intended for dry skin but I’ve experienced no issues with it (even though I have oily and acne-prone skin) o Full-sized product is $46.00 with 5-star ratings out of 17-reviews presently So!EIGHT SAINTS - Bright Side Out of these six, the four I would purchase the full-sized product of and recommend include: · The Purlisse Matcha Green Tea Lemon Detoxifying Charcoal Mask · 24K Gold Mineral Mud Mask from Ahava/Ulta · Herbivore Botanical’s Phoenix Oil · Sunday Riley’s UFO Acne Treatment Oil My all-time favorite out of that would have to be the phoenix oil by Herbivore. My second favorite is the matcha green tea. And honestly, I could live without the other four. That’s my hot take! I hope it helps you, beautiful queens!

We’d smear all over ourselves and then wash it off before going home. Nowadays I know a thing or two about algae and bacteria, but I would rather smear that on my face to clean it than this because it did a better job of cleansing and making my skin feel smooth and fresh. The consistency is watery and the smell as always with 8S is atrocious. There are much better mud cleansers out there, even lake clay does a better job and that stuff is free. I’ll risk the bacteria any day over this. EIGHT SAINTS - No Plans I’m going to avoid the temptation to make a “I have no plans to use this again” joke but I’ve already said it and drawn attention to it, so I’ve lost either way. This is a decent clay mask and I truly truly tried to use this up as best I could because I wanted to give this brand a fighting chance. This isn’t heavily scented like a Willy Wonka fart like other 8S products, and it does clean the face and leave it smooth. Like its aforementioned orange sister, however, it’s not nearly impressive enough to buy for their price. If you want to splurge on a mask and have a liking for their marketing and aesthetics by all means go for it, but if you want lake clay for the cheap price of zero dollars, I can tell you where you can find it.

Very excited to try out my eig
Very excited to try out my eight saints sample package for $10. I will review items as I finish them 😁 I hear the individual bottles are expensive but they do give you a $20 off coupon with the kit.

Eight Saints Cloud Whip
Eight Saints Cloud Whip
This cream contains vitamin c and other antioxidants to protect skin from pollution and also to fade bright spots. I was not very impressed with this product. It has a creamy consistency similar to a cream moisturizer and absorbs easily into skin. However, I did not notice any particular effects of using this product regularly. It retails for almost $70, so I would not recommend this product because it is expensive and I think you can get much better products for half the price. EIGHT SAINTS - Cloud Whip

Eight Saints DayDreamer Moisturizer
Eight Saints DayDreamer Moisturizer
This moisturizer is designed with a mix of oils and hyaluronic acid to hydrate skin. I received this in a “starter box” I purchased from the company. I was not very impressed with this moisturizer. There is nothing bad about it, it does its job, but it retails at $58 for a full bottle. I do not think it is worth that kind of money at all. The consistency is that of a light cream moisturizer, and it easily absorbs into the skin. However at this price point, I do not think it is worth the cost.EIGHT SAINTS - Day Dreamer

My face smells like a candy shop — sticky
My face smells like a candy shop — sticky
Wow am I deeply disappointed in this cheap sampler kit! I recently got into skincare, and like most things new to me I did a ton of research but needed to go out and try something to see the knowledge put into action. A social media ad recommended this Discovery Kit and I was hype: 10 dollars for a high-end (in price anyway) skincare routine. Clean, vegan, and aesthetic. Nice! For starters, I knew that I was going to have a tale to tell when the sample sizes were significantly smaller than the picture. Yes, they photoshopped the kit to look larger. Hey — not a big deal, they said each sample was less than an ounce so who’s complaining? Not me! Sadly this was the first of many wools pulled over my proverbial eyes. Okay, let’s get serious: this whole brand is way overpriced and not that impressive. My skin didn’t look or feel better after a couple of weeks, not nearly enough for me to want to buy into their $600 (yes that much) routine. I couldn’t even find a single product I liked enough to use the included coupon for. I’m not going to this brand again. It’s the epitome of branding and buzz words slapped onto a lousy product. Not only that, but most of their overpriced products overlap in ingredients and even have ingredients that aren’t usually recommended together in the same product. Their name comes from the idea that only 8 skincare ingredients are effective, but using combos of those 8 makes it look like they ran out of ideas. The overlap in all of their products makes it seem like I’m getting bamboozled into layering the same thing over and over. Like a child who has to paint a rainbow with two colors. Apparently my skin also was confused because these products did nothing to my skin and even felt icky when I used them. I tried taking products slowly out of the routine to find holy grails but everything made me feel gross in some way. I’ll admit I discarded the worst offenders before using them all the way up, they just bothered me that badly. Steer clear of this overpriced, ineffective, and downright icky skincare.
