Great molecules
I love this serum, and for the price point how could I not🤑💖. Standing at $6 this serum helps with enlarged pores, brighten your skin and help even out your skin tone. I’ve been using it for a little over a month and I’m love😍 . I’ve seen a noticeable change in my skin. It looks more plump and bright and my dark spots and going away. I really recommend this product, especially if you’re on a budget. I recommend looking at the brand as a whole if you’re balling on a budget. Good molecules has high quality skin care for a super low price. All you need is a few drops and you’re good to go. This serum has replaced my Kylie skin vitamin c serum. Pores: reduced. Skin: brighter. Wallet: happy.
This toner makes me so happy. I’ve actually really enjoyed all my Good Molecules products so far because they are affordable and effective. This toner is no different and it’s provided such a big difference in the appearance of my pores. I’ve incorporated this into my evening routine and I’m quite happy with the results. And the price. Texture note: This feels a bit thicker and more viscous than a normal toner, which feels thinner and more liquid-y. It has a feeling that is in between a serum / essence and a toner. The good: + This almost instantly had an effect on the appearance of my pores. My skin just seemed smoother overall. + It absorbs nicely and quickly into the skin. + It’s not irritating at all. I’m definitely able to use every night if I want to. + My skin tone just overall looks a lot nicer and more even since I started to use this. + It’s almost easier to handle since it’s a slightly thicker liquid. There’s just less chance of it spilling out of your hands or dripping everywhere. + I love seeing Niacinamide quoted as a main ingredient and then it actually being in the top three ingredients on the list! + Key ingredients include Niacinamide (brightens, improves skin tone and controls pores), Arbutin (reduces hyperpigmentation), Licorice root (reduce hyperpigmentation) and vitamin c (an antioxidant that brightens). + Its $14-18 depending on where you live, which is aligned with most drugstore prices for a toner! And you get 120ml of product. The not so good: - The fact it takes about a month to deliver to 🇨🇦 Worth it? Definitely. Will I repurchase? Yes. I might even skip replacing my Then I Met You toner and stick with this one 🙊 Ps I have combo, acne-prone skin. Pps pores are fine and normal. And they won’t fully ever go away. Plus no one will see unless they look really really closely, so try not to worry too much :)

Good, Good, Good hydration...💦
Silicone-Free Priming Moisturizer hydrates, nourishes and smooths your skin. This lightweight daily moisturizer is the perfect prep for your flawless makeup application. All it takes is a small amount, let it absorb for a few minutes, then apply makeup. Makeup glides on and I love the pump dispenser. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Made with macadamia seed oil, shea butter, and a naturally derived silicone alternative. It’s vegan, PEG-free and never tested on animals and it’s such an incredible bargain at $14. I like it because it’s lightweight, layers well and it’s unscented. Please Don’t Mix These!
Acids (actives) and retinol are awesome skincare ingredients. They can do a lot for your skin, such as increasing cell turnover, lightening acne and dark spots, smoothing texture, help acne, and exfoliating dead skin. However, it’s important to know what products you can mix and what you can’t. For example, you don’t want to include retinol in your skincare routine at the same time as an exfoliating toner, overnight exfoliating treatment, or acid spit treatment. What I’m saying is you don’t want to wash your face, tone with the YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Kombucha + 11% AHA Exfoliation Power Toner , apply a retinol serum such as THE inkey LIST - Retinol Serum , and then use GOOD MOLECULES - Overnight Exfoliating Treatment or DERMA•E - Acne Blemish Control Treatment Serum . Not a good idea!! Why? Using these products together can cause over-exfoliation. Over-exfoliation goes beyond the typical bit of peeling and sensitivity that introducing retinol or acids can sometimes cause. You could end up with significant peeling, irritated spots, chemical burns, or any other adverse reaction specific to your body. I have over-exfoliated before by using the YTTP toner multiple days in a row. I had irritated, itchy, dry skin and little bumps formed on my forehead. Oops! It happens. But it could have been prevented. That’s why it’s important to read up on what skincare ingredients should and shouldn’t be mixed. Still want to use retinol and acids? Of course you can, but don’t use them at the same time! Apply your exfoliating toner (maybe not as strong as the YTTP one, though) in the AM and retinol or exfoliating serum in the PM. Or try applying 1 one day and another the next. Use your acne spot treatment alone. Most importantly, pay attention to your skin type and how it is reacting. If you have sensitive skin, you probably can’t exfoliate/use retinol even that frequently. I have dry skin, so I exfoliate and/or use retinol (never same day) 1-2x/week.

Toner, Peel, Serum, Mask? Four Ways to AHA
What is AHA? Alpha hydroxy acids gently removes dead skin cells, encouraging the regeneration of new skin. It is know for its ability to reduce hyperpigmentation, minimize pores and brighten skin. So how is that different from Glycolic Acid? Glycolic acid is actually a type of AHA! Known to be the “smallest”, most researched and gentlest AHA, glycolic acid does all of the aforementioned things and also acts as a humectant, leaving us with smoother, plumper skin. AHA vs BHA? So some of the products I’ll mention contain both AHA and BHA. BHA, particularly salicylic acid, is great for reducing acne but can be drying. BHA has better penetration into pores due it its affinity to oily sebum. That’s why they say BHAs are better for oily skin! How should I incorporate AHA/Glycolic Acid into my skincare routine? Whichever way you choose! Some prefer it in their daily routine whereas others prefer it 2-3x a week- the products mentioned below allow you different options. 1. AHA as a toner. The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution When: Everyday if you want, AM or PM toning step. Price: $8.70 for 8oz Comments: I personally wouldn’t use this everyday especially if you have a broken skin barrier (it stings!) but it leaves me so hydrated and clean the next morning. Paired with a hydrating night serum, I’ve noticed a huge decrease in pore size and bumpy irregularities on my face. 2. AHA as a night cream/peel. VERSED - THE SHORTCUT Overnight Facial Peel When: 2-3 nights per week in my moisturizing step. Price: $9.99 for 0.5 oz Comments: If you have super sensitive skin, this one is for you. This acts as a lotion and has been the mildest form of glycolic acid I’ve seen. I don’t notice as drastic of a glow as TO’s toner or Good Molecules’s Overnight, but it works. Another con is the price...$10 for only 0.5oz allows for only 6-7 uses before repurchasing, whereas I’ve had that 8oz toner for almost a year with plenty left! 3. AHA as a night serum/sleeping mask. GOOD MOLECULES - Overnight Exfoliating Treatment When: 2-3 nights per week in my serum step. Price: $6 for 1 Oz Comments: this is my absolute favorite way of getting my AHA for only $6. I use only 4-5 drops as a “serum” in my regular night routine (see my old post). I would minimize using too many other acids with it! Creates a delicious glow in the AM, this mask also minimizes pores. It is not drying even though it contains BHAs! Would recommend for those who are dry, blackhead, and acne-prone. 4. AHA as a wash-off mask. The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution When: 1-2 nights a week for 10 min before rinsing off. Price: $7.20 for 1 Oz Comments: This product is hyped and I’m not too sure why. It works as a wash-off mask but it’s drying (bc of BHAs). I would only recommend if you want to add a mask without changing your existing routine.

Dehydrated vs. dry? How to know the difference
Dehydrated and dry are often seen as interchangeable words when it comes to describing your skin. These two terms actually mean different things so I wanted to shed some light on them. What is dehydrated skin? Dehydration is a skin condition. It is where your skin is lacking water (aka it needs more hydration). How do I increase hydration? You’re going to want to use humectants. Humectants are really good at retaining moisture in the skin. Some examples of ingredients you’re going to want to be on the look out for are glycerin, hyaluronic acid, and aloe vera. Product example? Currently I’m using the The Ordinary - Marine Hyaluronics . I almost think of this as their hyaluronic acid’s cooler, older sister. It has marine derived water reservoirs that attract and hold water like HA but the formula is a lot more pleasant! It’s very lightweight and watery feeling. I use this first in my routine and ALWAYS with a wet face so it drives that water into the skin instead of pulling water from the skin. What is dry skin? Dry is a skin type. This skin type lacks oil and needs moisture. How do I increase moisture? With emollients! Emollients form a barrier on the surface of the skin to prevent TEWL (or Trans Epidermal Water Loss). They are also used to soften the skin. You’re going to be on the look out for ceramides, oils, waxes, and silicones (which sounds scary but I promise it’s not). Product example? My favorite has to be the GOOD MOLECULES - Pure Cold-Pressed Rosehip Seed Oil . Rosehip oil is perfect for every skin type, including oily, but can really be beneficial to dry skin. Not only does it have fatty acids but it’s rich in vitamin A to moisturize the skin. In the long run rosehip oil can help improve texture, fine lines/wrinkles, and even reduce the appearance of acne scar. You want to use this last in your routine always. After a moisturizer I apply two drops into the palm of my hands, mush them together, and press them into the skin to create that beautiful moisture barrier. A little goes a long way with oils! If you have any questions I will try to answer them the best I can down below 🖤

Glowing skin for under $20! 🌹
If you’re into skin care chances are you’ve heard about rosehip seed already. I personally love it for its brightening properties and use it to even out my skin tone and add radiance back into my skin. Two of my favorite products that are packed with the benefits of rosehip oil are the GOOD MOLECULES - Pure Cold-Pressed Rosehip Seed Oil this little oil might be small but it is powerful! Sourced sustainably and ethically in southern Chile, this oil is for you if your looking to brighten and plump your skin. I use it as the last step in my night skin care routine to lock everything else I’ve applied in. Oh, and it’s only $10 🤩 Next is the ROSEN SKINCARE - Rose Water Face Dew this is one of my favorite products ever, period. This is such a cool product, it combines rose water and rosehip seed oil among a few other amazing ingredients and it’s an instant fix to dull skin. You can use with the rest of your skin care routine, over makeup, throughout the day to freshen up, its amazing. BEST for getting glowy skin in just a few mists. The 2 oz is only $15 or you can get it in a set on their website. So, there you have it! Beauty that won’t break the bank but will provide you with that beautiful healthy glow!

Night Owl? Save Your Under Eyes!
I'm a night owl and have been forever! Most of the time this means I wake up looking like I haven't slept in years because my under eyes are puffy. I have a ritual for those days! Here's what I do: 1. I wash my face, being sure to use cool water! 2. Apply my NuFace Line Smoothing Serum 3. Apply my Good Molecules Eye Patches 4. Let the depuffing magic happen! The NuFace serum has an immediate effect on my under eyes, smoothing and tightening them. It's a lightweight serum texture and immediately sinks into the skin. I love that the tip is cooling metal so it also helps to depuff! The Good Molecules Caffeine Energizing Hydrogel Eye Patches are the star of the show! The caffeine reduces puffiness and swelling. They also contain niacinamide, aloe and hyaluronic acid to help brighten and smooth! This system works to depuff my under eyes in 10 minutes so I use that time to do my hair or get dressed, then I look like I got my full 8 hours! Had a Late Night? 2 Quick Fixes!
We all have “those” nights. Whether it’s up late working on a school or work assignment, watching too many YouTube (or Tik Tok) videos, stressed about something, or whatever else that prevents you from having a good night of sleep, we all want to look well-rested! In addition to a splash of cold water on your face and a cup of coffee, tea, or matcha, there are 2 things I usually do to help my face and under eyes look like I got the recommended 8 hours of sleep. Puffiness and extra darkness under the eyes are common if you didn’t get a good night of sleep. An easy way to de-puff, hydrate, and instantly lift your under eyes is to use eye gels. I use the GOOD MOLECULES - Caffeine Energizing Hydrogel Eye Patches when I need an extra pick-me-up. They contain caffeine, acetyl tetrapeptide-5, niacinamide, aloe, and hyaluronic acid to firm, hydrate, soothe, and smooth. My under eyes visibly look and feel better in 10-15 minutes. These patches don’t slip and slide like many others I’ve tried. This particular product is great because they’re a good bang for your buck - $18 for 60 patches (30 uses), and I have repurchased them. I am a makeup lover so I do dot some concealer on after my skincare routine, but that’s optional! My next tip is to use some sort of brightening mask that contains vitamin C. Vitamin C will wake up your complexion and leave your skin looking glowing. I have been using the fresh - Vitamin C Glow Face Mask (sample size) in the mornings when my skin is looking dull. This citrus marmalade smelling and looking mask is easy and fun to apply. It contains AHAs such as orange, lemon, and clementine extracts to gently smooth + glow. After about 10 minutes, my complexion looks refreshed and plumped. I like this mask a lot but won’t repurchase because Fresh is not cruelty-free. This mask retails for $62 for 3.3oz or $25 for 1oz at Sephora, but you can use any vitamin C-enriched mask you’ve got at home! Pro tip: Use the eye gels and mask together to save time! About my skin: dryyyyy and acne-prone

We love an effective & affordable cleansing balm
Although I am sad to stray from my Then I met you - Living Cleansing Balm, I was super excited to try this balm and so far I am loving it! The texture and look & feel reminds me a lot of coconut oil since it starts as a solid that melts into this lovely oil. It’s a great first cleanse! The good: + This feels like such a gentle formula. As you work this product into your skin it turns into this lovely oily substance that just dissolves all the makeup / spf off your face. + It’s easy to rinse off with water and doesn’t leave a film or any weird residue behind. + Skin feels cleansed afterwards but not dry and doesn’t feel like I’ve stripped the skin. + It’s $15-20, depending on where you live, which is such a good price. Especially because you use such a tiny amount each night. I can see this lasting me several months. + Star ingredients include Shea butter (hydrating and anti-inflammatory), camellia oil (moisturizing and nourishing) and sea buckthorn oil (rejuvenating). The not so good: - Well it’s not as luxurious as the experience of using the Then I Met You version. But honestly I don’t mind. It’s a product that goes down the sink in about a minute anyways so I would rather it work well.. which it does. - If you have very sensitive skin, there are a couple fragrances / floral oils in here that may be irritating. I personally haven’t had any issues but do want to point it out. - If ingredients matter to you, you might notice that the three key ingredients are fairly low on the list. It does feel a bit weird for them to claim the Shea butter, camellia oil and sea buckthorn oil are the key ingredients when the concentrations are not that prominent. BUT on the other hand maybe these are ingredients that work best in small amounts. This doesn’t both me too much because 1) the product works and 2) it’s a rinse-off product anyways. Worth it? Affordable. Effective. Good amount of product. In my opinion it’s worth it. Will I repurchase? If I ever need another cleansing balm (currently working on this and the Then I Met You version, which are both lasting me so long). Then yes! Especially because I want to try more products from this brand. Even if I find another balm I like better, I might just buy one of these to have as a back up because it’s so affordable. Ps I have combination, acne prone skin. Pps you should check out Good Molecules’ “Nothing to hide ingredient lists”. They are very cool.

Cleansing Balm Bargain!
Good Molecules Instant Cleansing Balm melts away my makeup and rinses off well without feeling greasy or sticky. It’s also a great bargain at only $15! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It’s nice and lightweight, made with sea buckthorn oil, camellia oil, and shea butter. It rinses away without leaving my skin dry or tight. I’m not real crazy about the smell but I’ve gotten used to it. I’m happy with the results and would definitely recommend it if you are looking for a great cleansing balm at a great price! GOOD MOLECULES - Instant Cleansing Balm

You may be using hyaluronic acid incorrectly...
I did a post on hyaluronic acid recently and I realized I forgot one of the most important parts. I told you how to layer it in your routine but I forgot the most important tip. Add water! I’ve been super guilty in the past of just going straight in with my hyaluronic acid serums and wondering why they weren’t doing anything. I decided to test out over the last few weeks adding it into my routine while my face was still wet and it was a success! This way instead of hyaluronic acid pulling water from your skin it’s taking the water already on your skin and driving it deep in. Water is also a penetration enhancer so this wet base is going to help drive your products deeper into the skin as well. I know it sounds weird because we’re all used to washing our face, drying it off, and then putting on our serums but I’ve noticed the hugest difference in the hydration of my face while using this method. Currently I’m using the The Ordinary - Marine Hyaluronics which is my favorite hyaluronic acid serum so far. It’s a watery consistency that absorbs into the skin and doesn’t pill up under my make up like the regular hyaluronic acid from the ordinary can. If you try this out and see results let me know! 🖤

Finally a brightening serum for my skin!
Okay so I know it’s WAY too early for me to see the signs as it’s barely been a day. Maybe it’s a placebo effect but I’m already loving this serum SO MUCH! The issue with a lot of brightening serums I’ve used (and I’ve used alotttttt) is that my skin tends to shift in overall condition. By that I mean, I’ll have clear skin with zero breakouts and although the serums I’ve used have worked to lighten my pigmentation, I notice I tend to breakout while using them! I go from clear to MORE breakouts and then the hyperpigmentation cycle begins again! Here’s an insert from their website: About Good Molecules Discoloration Correcting Serum! Improve the appearance of skin discoloration and uneven skin tone with Discoloration Correcting Serum. Formulated with an advanced form of tranexamic acid (cetyl tranexamate mesylate) and 4% niacinamide, this lightweight serum improves the appearance of age spots, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, and sun damage. Good molecules has really great products and the price point is super affordable! This serum is $12! I’ll be posting an update in 30 days to talk about how well it’s worked, but so far so good 😍 GOOD MOLECULES - Discoloration Correcting Serum

Chemical & physical exfoliation pros and cons 👀
Exfoliation is an important step for any skincare routine. Getting rid of dead skin and helping products penetrate the skin more effectively is so important! It’s simply a key 🗝 step. But, how should I exfoliate my skin? There are two ways to exfoliate: 💫 Chemical exfoliants are acids that dissolve and loosen dead skin cells to bring out a smoother, clearer surface. 💫Physical exfoliant are very often small particles, seed powders, you could even use a washcloth to gently “scrub” away dead skin and debris. Which one is better? I personally think it depends, and while I prefer chemical exfoliants since they don’t involve any rubbing and offer a more even exfoliation I do like to use physical exfoliants from time to time and will VERY gently rub them. I make it a point not to exfoliate more than three times a week, wether I’m using a chemical exfoliant or physical and just love ending up with a brighter look on my skin and refined pores. What type of exfoliants do you prefer? ☺️

All-in-one exfoliation?! {chemical & physical}
Whether you’re a seasoned chemical or physical exfoliation vet, or you’re new to the party, it’s important to understand the purpose of exfoliating. Exfoliating can help remove dead skin, slough off dry patches, smooth, reduce acne scars and texture, unclog pores, and make your skin look brighter by encouraging cell turnover. Chemical exfoliation uses acids, such as alpha hydroxy acids (AHA) and beta hydroxy acids (BHA), and/or enzymes. These chemicals help to dissolve/loosen dead skin cells. Chemical exfoliation is generally safe to do a few times per week, depending on your skin type and the strength of the product you’re using. Read directions and consult your doctor. Physical exfoliation uses small particles to scrub away dirt and dead skin. Look for gentle physical exfoliants, such as jojoba beads and rice powder. Avoid larger, more coarse particles such as nut shells because they can damage your skin. Physical exfoliation should be done less frequently to avoid over-irritation. Both kinds are great for your skin, and all skin types can benefit. Yes, even dry skin (like me)! My ideal combo is to use both methods at least 1x/week. My current top pick for an all-in-one exfoliator is the GOOD MOLECULES - Pineapple Exfoliating Powder . It contains rice powder (physical), vitamin C, and fruit enzymes (chemical). You simply pour out some powder and add water. The powder dissolves in a couple drops of water into a grainy, milky foam. Add more water for less physical exfoliation. My skin is left feeling smoother every time, and never feels stripped or irritated. I use 1x/wk. It’s unscented and suitable for all skin types. At $16, this is a great option for gentle all-in-one exfoliation! Available on Beautylish (although currently sold out). Item was gifted by brand w/o obligation.

This is a cleansing balm that helps to melt and dissolve makeup, dirt, and other impurities. This balm can be used to effectively remove makeup while ensure that your skin isn’t stripped of its essential moisture. I love this cleansing balm! The best part of this cleansing balm is how affordable it is! It is only $15 which is amazing for a cleansing balm! This has become my new go-to especially when I need to double cleanse. I like to use this cleansing balm and follow it up with regular cleansers! I also love this cleansing balm because it doesn’t leave a weird film on my skin like other cleansers do. I would definitely recommend this product to others.

Dermalogica vs. Good molecules
Dermalogica vs. Good molecules
dermalogica - Daily Microfoliant Exfoliator This exfoliating is good and does the job but the price is way too high and it comes with only that much. It is such a good product but there are cheaper alternatives for this product that work the same if not even better. GOOD MOLECULES - Pineapple Exfoliating Powder This exfoliating powder is literally the same if not even better than the Dermalogica one I have noticed the difference and my face feels a lot smoother. I also noticed that I haven’t gotten any dry patches the next day which is good when I used the Dermalogica one I have dry patches the next day ( nothing to crazy just little ones here and there) the reason this gets a four star instead of five is because I really hate the smell of it but it just works so amazing and gentle on my skin. Overall, they are both good products but I would go to the good molecules one because it’s much cheaper and has benefiting and non harmful ingredients.

I’ve tried a lot of exfoliatin
I’ve tried a lot of exfoliating products, most of them have really been okay.. however this one has blown away my expectations! It’s extremely potent serum for the price point and has helped transform my skin overall!

Good eye patch
Good eye patch
This is my first time trying out the GOOD MOLECULES - Caffeine Energizing Hydrogel Eye Patches I like the packaging. It comes in a small twist lid container with a spoon to help lift and separate the patches. Keeps it simple - easy to store and easy to travel. Personally, I like the slimy serum. There’s plenty of it, so when I don’t have time to do a 10 min eye patch I can just swipe some serum off the top and dab under my eyes. The patches were slightly oversized for my face but not unmanageable by any means. They do slide around a bit for the first few mins but start to adhere to my face as the serum soaks into my skin. My fave part about these is NO FRAGRANCE! However, I do wish the serum was a tad more hydrating. This will do fine in the summer, but my winter skin needs more hydration than this will provide. I don’t have much puffiness or dark circles on a daily basis so I mostly use these for when I have a crappy nights sleep. They do the trick!
