Rosacea: Liquid Gold Moisturizer Honest Review
stratia - Liquid Gold I was attracted to this moisturizer because one of my favorite sensitive skincare ladies swears by it. It’s an expensive moisturizer for me ($27), but I splurged on this and a few other items for Christmas. Initially, I used it as a moisturizer (2 pumps). I love the packaging, the bright color, the sticky texture, and the olive oil-like smell, but it’s thin and absorbed very quickly into my skin. I found that heat would rise to my face from the lack of moisture and over the course of a few days my skin got a LOT more red and textured. So I started using it as a serum before my moisturizer instead. Although my skin stopped feeling uncomfortable, I did find that it continued to be more textured, redder than usual, and I started breaking out (breakouts are pretty rare for me). I think 2 weeks is a good window of time to try out this product, and I just found that it wasn’t right for my skin. There are no ingredients that would react with my rosacea or sensitive skin more generally, but I think it’s too thin as a moisturizer and there are much better serums out there. It’s likely that the sea buckthorn oil irritated my skin, I don’t know what else it could’ve been! So, based off my experience, this product isn’t worth it to me. My skin looked worse while using it and pretty much immediately cleared up when I removed it from my skincare routine. It’s come to my attention that this reaction could’ve been my skin barrier in the process of repair, but without a derm to walk me through it I wasn’t willing to use it for another week. I’m sticking to my CeraVe PM moisturizer and Leo Oil, and playing with other serums that better target my needs. I’m still giving this moisturizer 3 stars despite my experience because I regifted it to a friend with super sensitive skin and he LOVED it. It’s working really great for him, so chances are it could work for you too! He’s in his early 30s with sensitive combo skin.

Stratia Liquid Gold= pure heaven for the face
I will first start off this review by saying, yes this stuff you’ve seen all over your social media feed does live up to the hype. Little background I bought it because I’m a dry skinned gal and I can always go for a hydrating serum. This has ceramides and rosehip oil in it so I’m like great the more the merrier. Boy was I in for a surprise. A good surprise don’t worry. I did not realize how wacked up my moisture barrier was until I started using this and noticed how soft and nourished my face felt. No matter what guys! Even after wearing a mask for 8 hours my face was no longer dehydrated or has those irritated little bumps on it I always get. But it was soft and smooth like I didn’t even wear a mask for 8 hours. To recap: yes this product is worth it, oh my god is it worth it. If I had to make a list of top 3 skincare products this would be number 1 it’s that good. Dry skinned people use this as a hydrating serum and you will love your skin! Oily or combo you can use this as a moisturizer (which is what it is advertised as) and you will love your skin too! Guys I recommend this for everyone! It’s also cheaper then krave beauty and you get more product! Double score! I highly highly highly recommend this oh my gosh! If there is one thing you need this winter or if there is one thing you want to buy with some Christmas money, buy this! You will not regret it! For this wondering about smell: it smells like rosehip oil because there is no added fragrance so if you don’t mind a bit of a earthy smell for the couple of seconds you smooth it onto your face you’ll be fine.

Stratia Soft Touch AHA- Yay or Nay?
Yay! stratia - Soft Touch AHA I have dry sensitive skin, so I couldn't obviously go for something your strong with my first AHA. AHA is reccomended for if you have dry or sensitive skin because it doesn't penetrate as deep into the skin, and therefore reduces the chances of a bad reaction. Lactic acid, which is the active in this exfoliator, is a particularly gentle AHA. This never gave me any kind of reaction, and consistent usage has boosted of my skin. I recommend this for anyone with sensitive skin or someone who just wants something gentle for their first chemical exfoliator! (p.s. your first order with them online has free shipping 😉)

cleansers for sensitive & reactive skin
✨Cream cleansers for sensitive and reactive skin✨ I love gentle, hydrating cleansers and I can’t live without them! Whenever my skin is feeling reactive or overly sensitized, I immediately switch to one of these cleansers since they won’t strip or cause irritations to my skin. These are my top recommendations that will work for most skin types. ▶️ LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser - pretty basic straightforward hydrating and lightweight milky cream cleanser that contains ceramide-3, niacinamide, glycerin, and LRP’s thermal water to give your skin a clean slate without disrupting your moisture barrier. It’s one of my favorites that’s affordable since it’s only 15$ for 13.5 oz and it’s easily accessible at most drugstores. ▶️PAULA'S CHOICE - Optimal Results Hydrating Cleanser - a newly discovered silky and lush cleansing cream that soothes and replenishes my skin post cleanse. This has quite a thick texture but it adheres well to my skin as I massage it around. It quickly melts away any oil, dirt, and sunscreen from my day while leaving my skin feeling so soft and supple afterwards. It’s fairly priced at 19$ for 6.4oz but I wish they still sold the jumbo size which was a better deal at 26$ for 11.3 oz. ▶️ stratia - Velvet Cleansing Milk - my most favorite out of all of these. This is slightly more lightweight than the PC one with its rich, emollient, and velvety cream texture. It contains olive oil esters, rice bran oil, glycerin, allantoin, chamomile, and aloe to provide the skin with a thorough yet soothing cleanse without causing any damage to the skin barrier. This one is the most expensive out of the bunch at 28$ for 8oz but it’s well worth it for how it makes my skin feel during and post cleanse. ▶️ The Ordinary - Squalane Cleanser - another great gentle cleanser that uses squalane and lipophilic esters to dissolve away makeup and facial impurities. This has a really thick creamy texture that takes a bit of effort to massage into the skin but it melts away almost everything. The only problem I had with this one was that I ended up having to use a lot of product. It’s not the cheapest but still decently affordable at 19.90$ for 5oz.

My holy grails: acne-prone, red, textured skin
My skin isn't "good". I've struggled with clogged pores and acne all my life. These are the products I've been using and loving these past few months. Disclaimer: I work for Stratia, but all Stratia products included in this list are *TRULY* my faves from other products I've tried throughout the years Cleanser: Beauty Strike Oil Cleanser - I haven't used very many oil cleansers so I can't compare this to other oil cleansers in the market, but it does the trick for my skin. It does have a fragrance ingredient, but as this is a wash-off product I haven't noticed any irritation. Bonus: Beauty Strike is a black, woman-owned company from Brooklyn NY. stratia - Velvet Cleansing Milk The best experience with a non-foaming cleanser I've ever had. I have oilier skin so I'm usually a fan of foaming cleansers, but I got a free bottle of VCM when I started working at Stratia and decided to give it a shot. I used Cetaphil before, & ended up over-rubbing my skin to compensate for the lack of foam. Velvet Cleansing Milk is the only NF cleanser I've used that's actually made me feel clean! stratia - C+C Serum This Vitamin C serum uses silicone instead of oil as a vehicle which I personally prefer. My face stung in a few places my first time using it, but it's not a problem anymore. My skin is visibly brighter PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator I bought this specifically for the blackheads on my nose. I can't say I've noticed much of a difference there, but this has helped SO MUCH with my bacne. Curology - Curology formula (0.018% Tretinoin, 8% Azelaic Acid, 1% Clindamycin - This is a newer addition to my routine, but 1 week in an my active pimples have all dried up and I haven't had a new breakout since. stratia - Rewind anti-aging dame essence Took some time to show visible results, but it was a great hydrating step to add to my routine in the meantime. About a month in I noticed that the fine lines on my forehead were less noticeable and my skin overall just felt firmer. stratia - Liquid Gold - The moisturizer that I will be using for the rest of my life! I didn't realize my moisture barrier was damaged before using liquid gold, but since using it, my skin is less irritated when I use actives and overall has a healthy glow. If you try anything on this list of product, TRY THIS ONE. elta md SKINCARE - UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46 - I ve been using this SPF since march and it's definitely a favorite of mine. I've heard some people say that it pills under makeup but that hasn't been a problem for me. It's not tinted, but my redness is visibly reduced when I use it. Maybe it's the niacinamide? The one thing I'll say is that since I've started Curology, it feels a bit dry on my face.

AM, PM, Occasional, and New Products!
I’ve been simplifying my day to day routines and working in “specialty” products on occasion, to save time and money. AM (Alllll about quick and easy!) Andalou Apricot Cleansing Milk Cerave PM Moisturizer Nivea Super Watery Gel SPF PM Cerave Hydrating Cleanser (or Andalou if I want more richness) EB5 Anti Aging Toner Curology (clindamyacin 1%, tretinoin .04%, azelaic acid 7%) Hadalabo Hyalruronic Acid Illiyoon Ceramide Moisturizer Acure Blue Tansy Oil Rotating Products Makeup Removal: Farmacy Green Clean Cleansing Balm (I know some of you swear by the double cleanse, but it’s typically too irritating for me daily) Exfoliating (in place of EB5): Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant, Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Ultra Gentle Peel (great when I feel a breakout coming on), Alpha H Liquid Gold (for when I’m feeling super lazy—I cleanse, use this, and slap on a thick moisturizer...that’s it!) Laneige Water Sleeping Mask: Great top coat to seal in extra moisture Cicaplast Baume 5: Also a great top coat, more occlusive and I love when I’m feeling super dry Acne Spot Treatment: Kate Somerville EradiKate reduces size and redness overnight. Tends to pull off the whiteheads and cause bleeding & thus scarring when removed the next morning, so use with caution Holy Grail: Naturopathica Alpine Rose Recovery Serum. This is a 7-day treatment serum that reduces redness, plumps you up, and helps bump up the glow. For use 3-4 times a year at most, so would be great to use if you have an event you want to look extra glowy for. (Who goes anywhere nowadays? I can dream...) New Products (both recommended by my skincare group. Will update) Stratia Liquid Gold: Additional evening moisture layer Stratia Rewind: evening moisture layer, supposed to help with redness too

Which Retinoid should you use?
Retinoids are talked about as the best topical for most skin concerns. It does everything from reduce acne to reducing wrinkles! But it gets confusing with so many different forms of retinoids. They all have the same benefits, but some are just more powerful than others. The more potent it is, the more potential for irritation, so try starting with a less potent and less irritating retinoid like a Retinyl Ester and then switch to a more potent one like Retinol after a few months! HOW TO USE Retinoids can be used up to once every day, but this might be too strong for some and could cause some irritation. Try starting with just 1x per week, then gradually increase if you don't experience any signs of irritation. You definitely don't need to use more active ingredients on top of retinoids, but you can (doesn't mean you should). Just be cautious of using other active ingredients while also using retinoids, avoid using them in the same routine and try alternating them instead. They can be applied in a few different places in your skincare routine depending on your skin tolerance. Ideally, actives like retinoids are applied first after cleansing, however, this can also increase chances of irritation. If you experience irritation, you can try "buffering" (apply moisturizer first, then retinoid) or "sandwiching" (apply moisturizer first, then retinoid, then more moisturizer) and reduce the frequency. Below are some example products for each type to help you choose. REMEMBER, retinoids make you more sensitive to the sun and the sun undoes the benefits, so make sure to WEAR SUNSCREEN! Retinoic Acid Prescription Tretinoin (use as directed by the prescriber) Retinal Avène - RetrinAL ADVANCED Wrinkle Corrector Medik8 - Crystal Retinal Retinol The Ordinary - Retinol 0.2% in Squalane The Ordinary - Retinol 0.5% in Squalane The Ordinary - Retinol 1% in Squalane Medik8 - INTELLIGENT RETINOL PAULA'S CHOICE - 1% Retinol Booster Neutrogena - Rapid Wrinkle Repair Serum stratia - Night Shift Retinyl Ester The Ordinary - Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion The Ordinary - Granactive Retinoid 2% in Squalane #Dr. Sam’s - Flawless Nightly Serum[products]# THE inkey LIST - Retinol Serum(Contains both Retinol and the Ester) #CheriePartner

Face Mask Turned Neck Saviour
My neck is ten times as sensitive as my face- it’s weird, in my opinion, but my eczema is most intense on my neck. I couldn’t use this luscious-looking retinol mask (PR sample from the brand) on my face due to tretinoin use, but after admiring the stacked af ingredient list (ceramides, marula oil, sunflower seed oil, cholesterol, cica, allantoin?) I had to try it. And I’ve found the perfect overnight neck mask. Gentle enough to not irritate even my super sensitive skin, this mask leaves my neck silky and soft by morning without pilling as most moisturizing products do- and it didn’t end up mainly on my pillow either! I’m excited to have a product with anti-aging that’s got enough of a light touch to use on my neck. 0.15% retinol means it should help in the fight against sagging/lines as collagen synthesis and cellular turnover are increased. Plus it’s fragrance- and essential oil-free, making it even more friendly to sensitive skin. An absolute steal at $28 USD for 50mL.

You will love Liquid Gold
Liquid Gold is as special as it sounds. It’s formulated with ceramides, which soothe and moisturize; Sea Buckthorn oil, to heal, strengthen and support our skin’s barrier; and niacinamide, to help reduce the appearance of fine lines. I use this powerhouse cream every morning under my sunscreen and highly recommend it. *gifted but love is real

Exfoliation for sensitive skin
Exfoliation for sensitive skin
My skin type is dry/acne prone. My skin is also a bit sensitive and eczema-prone. This product is a 10% mandelic acid serum, meaning it's a gentle AHA used to exfoliate your skin. It has a very lightweight texture that sinks into the skin without stinging. This serum is good for people who have texture on their skin, acne, and people who just want a glow. I personally found this to be very gentle, but still helped to reduce any texture on my skin. I would recommend this for people who want a gentle exfoliator. If you are used to using stronger exfoliating products, this may not be the one for you, but newbies would love this. stratia - Soft Touch AHA #cheriecreator

I used to be a big foam girl but lately I've been loving my low to no foam cleansers. I trust my oil cleanser to pull most of the weight, so my second cleanser can be super gentle. I love how gentle these are on my dehydrated and increasingly dry skin. indielee rosehip cleanser: mine is so pink! Pinker than other pictures I've seen. This photo is true to color! Low-foaming. Gentlemask T-Tox Cleanser : love the fresh smell and how freaking gentle it is! A runny low foaming gel cleanser. stratia Velvet Cleansing Milk: my favorite cleansing milk. Rinses so clean!! Cream so no foam. lumiderma purifying gel Cleanser only tried this a few times but feels similar to the gentlemask cleanser. Low-foaming. trilogy enzyme cleansing cream: interesting stringy consistency but not unpleasant. Rinses clean! Cream so no foam.

Stratia Liquid Gold
Stratia Liquid Gold
I was recommended the stratia - Liquid Gold by a friend and I was not disappointed. This moisturizer contains cholesterol, ceramide, sea buckthorn oil, and niacinamide to give your skin the best hydration and moisturization EVER. I kid you not, this stuff can save the driest of skin despite not being a very heavy cream at all. The formulation is just magic. It is totally unscented and perfect for sensitive skin due to its nourishing ingredients and lack of irritants. Anyone who has a damaged moisture barrier, some dryness, or someone who wants their moisturizer to do some work should try this. This time of year (just before summer) my skin takes a turn for the oily and I have found this to be light enough to use during the day and not have my face feel heavy or sweaty. The magic of it is that you can use it as a serum in the dry months too and then use a thicker moisturizer on top of it for extra locked in goodness. I did not experience any breakouts while using this and I feel like my skin has been rather happy and balanced since I’ve been using it. It comes in an airless pump bottle which is super hygienic for creams like this which is another aspect I love. Plus that natural gold color is absolutely amazing (it does not appear yellow on the skin) and looks so nice on a shelf! Overall my skin has taken to this moisturizer so well and I’m a big fan of the ingredients/lack of fragrance. I will definitely be purchasing this one again and again because it’s perfect

Excited to start trying out Liquid Gold by science-based indie skincare company stratiaskin ! I've never tried a moisturizer that is so brightly colored before! Liquid gold is designed to boost your skin's natural moisture barrier with proven ingredients like ceramides, cholesterol, fatty acids, and oils (the yellow color comes from two kinds of sea buckthorn oil). My skin's been feeling extra dehydrated lately so I'm hoping this will help it spring back!

I was pretty psyched when stra
I was pretty psyched when stratia got in touch with the news that they had an innovative new water-less Vitamin C serum! Vitamin C in its acidic form, ascorbic acid, is extremely effective, but because it oxidizes quickly when in a water-based formula, vitamin C serums generally have a short shelf life of about 3 months or less. If you've ever had a Vitamin C serum turn dark orange, it has oxidized and won't be helpful to your skin anymore. The innovation of Stratia's formula lies in the silicone base. Stratia has found a way to make a creamy, light, silky, lotiony serum base that feels feather light on the skin, and evaporates almost immediately to leave little to no residue, leaving only the good stuff, Vitamin C, behind. This formula includes 10% ascorbic acid and 5% ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate, an oil soluble form of vitamin C that is gentle yet effective. I've been using the Stratia C + C Serum for about a week and first impressions are very good. It really does evaporate very quickly, and I'm able to apply other products on top of it without issues (no pilling). I get a slight tingling but less than with other vitamin C serums I've tried (and I've tried a lot). The best thing is, this is shelf-stable for a full year! I don't use vitamin C every night, so this gives me the flexibility to actually use up a whole bottle before it oxidizes. And for me, the fact that it's 10% ascorbic acid instead of 15-20% is a plus -- less likely to irritate. It's hard to tell in a week, but I do feel that there has been some slight brightening! Excited to try it longer!
