gel cleansers: one empty one newbie
Today I’ll be reviewing these two gel cleansers! I ran out of the Alder New York - Everyday Face Cleanser a while ago and replaced it with the HOLI FROG - Superior Omega Nutritive Gel Wash ! Both of these were gifted to me by the brands. I didn’t repurchase the ANY cleanser for a few reasons, but the biggest one is that it was ineffective. Product Claims: — ANY: improve radiance, boost firmness, help skin texture — Holifrog: lifts away impurities without over cleansing skin, nourish/replenish skin, deeply clean all skin types Key Ingredients: — ANY: sea botanicals, glycolic acid — Holifrog: probiotics, omega fatty acids, grape seed oil, broccoli seed oil Price: — ANY: $28 — Holifrog: $36 Overall Thoughts: — ANY: this is truly just a useless cleanser for me. I enjoyed using it at first, but then it became very stripping and irritating to use. I mostly used it as a second cleanse at night, and it had a hard time removing any leftover makeup or SPF. The bottle was hard to use as well, because the pump would get stuck and then all of a sudden spit out a bunch of product. I will say this lasted a long time but I finished it up on my makeup brushes because it hurt my face to use. — Holifrog: this is the only gel cleanser I’ve ever used that can be used twice a day every day. It’s gentle and non stripping, non irritating, and non abrasive. Easy to use and the perfect second cleanse at night or the best refresher in the mornings. The consistency is a bit thicker than ANY, so maybe that’s why it works a bit better. It definitely clings to any makeup left on my face and washes it off clean! I will continue to purchase the Holifrog cleanser! It seems like a great gel cleanser for the price and I already have a backup.

REVIEW [ALDER NEW YORK]

The E
REVIEW [ALDER NEW YORK] The Everyday Face Serum, for example, only has nine (9) in total! No nonsense, plenty of actives. It acts as a 3-in-one to hydrate with hyaluronic acid; even skin tone and reduce inflammation and redness with vitamin B3 (Niacinamide); and balance oil and texture with willow bark and rosemary extract. The texture of the serum is very watery and light. It glides on easily, feels slightly slippery and very refreshing on the skin before quickly absorbing. Thoughts: I like pairing this serum with my vitamin C in the morning and then using it as an extra hydrating step in my evening routine, right after toning. It layers very well, isn’t greasy at all, and I absolutely love the ingredients. I was so happy to see a travel-size included. Typically I like my serums to be a little more substantial, but I’ve really enjoyed incorporating this into my routine and at $36, I’d definitely recommend it to someone who enjoys thin, light, hydrating layers and minimal ingredients. I look forward to trying more from this brand!

Alder New York Everyday Face Serum
Alder New York Everyday Face Serum
This serum is formulated with hyaluronic acid to plump and hydrate the skin, vitamin B3 to even skin tone, and willow bark snd rosemary extract to balance oils snd skin texture abd is meant for every day use. This serum is very thin and watery, which helps it be fast absorbing. It does not leave behind a sticky feeling, which I really like. I have noticed brighter and more even skin tone. I would definitely recommend this for people who are just starting with skincare because of how easy it is to use.

Everyday Face Cleanser
Alder New York-Everyday Face Cleanser
I have pretty normal skin. It
I have pretty normal skin. It breaks out every once in a while, it gets dry, it gets oily, it just kind of does what it wants. To help keep it in line, I watch what ingredients I'm putting on my face. I am really impressed by the line from Alder New York because of the clean, dermatologist approved ingredients they use. I was given the opportunity to try their everyday face serum, and black obsidian face roller. This serum has 3 main ingredients that worked well for my skin. *Hyaluronic acid - skins best friend - *Vitamin B3 - Inflammation reduction - *Rosemary extract - Oil balancing Together these 3 ingredients combine to give you plump, soft, evenly toned skin. I've been using it for a week. So I can't say for 100% certain how effective it is. But I can say it didn't cause any breakouts or irritation. The texture is nice and smooth, not heavy or greasy. It doesn't have any heavy fragrance. It's pretty neutral - and it's designed that way. Most skincare/beauty brands are aimed at women specifically, but Alder New York is for every face - I also have this gorgeous obsidian face roller, and despite what some say - I think it helps relieve the tension in my face. With allergy season wreaking havoc on my sinuses, it feels so good to put this roller in my mini fridge and run it on my temples at night. It helps relieve some of the stress and tension in my face.

✨ Cleansers have been my jam l
✨ Cleansers have been my jam lately, so I jumped at the chance to try out alder’s glycolic gel acid cleanser. Beyond the beautiful minimalist packaging, The Everyday Face Cleanser has a serum-like consistency and gently exfoliates your skin as it dissolves makeup and impurities. A great cleanser should thoroughly clean your skin without stripping your precious moisture barrier - and this does just that. The vegan formula is pH balanced with a blend of sea botanical extracts, as well as Vitamin B5 + E. My skin feels completely smooth and healthy with each use. ✨

This TSA-approved travel trio
This TSA-approved travel trio is the first of two Join palm picks I got this month, and I’m so excited to have added to my alder collection! In the previous month I got the Everyday Face Serum, and I couldn’t pass up the chance to try the Everyday Cleanser and Moisturizer, too. The cleanser is so gentle, almost a serum-like texture that barely lathers, formulated with low dose glycolic acid to exfoliate without irritating, sea kelp extract to boost collagen, and vitamins B5. The serum and moisturizer are similar in that they’re very light, hydrating products with simple ingredients! The moisturizer is light and airy, with vitamin C in the form of glyceryl ascorbate to brighten, hyaluronic acid and glycerin to hydrate, and aloe to sooth. My only issue with this one, aside from needing a little more hydration on top (my skin is on the dry, dehydrated side of normal), was the pump makes the product a little difficult to dispense. Overall, I think these products would be great for someone with sensitive skin, or any skin type really, especially for summertime. There’s no fragrance, no nasties, no frills! Just good products with great ingredients. I can’t wait to take these on the road with me!
