September Empties 🌿
🌿 OLEHENRIKSEN Find Your Balance Oil Control Cleanser 4/5 This is an AHA (glycolic and lactic acid) cleanser that is meant to reduce excess oil production and help unclog pores. I enjoyed this in the summer months on days where I felt oily but this cleanser is pretty drying for dryer skin types and colder months. Although it didn’t irritate me, this has peppermint oil that gives it a slight tingly feeling. I don’t think this would be stripping for oily skin types but I definitely would not recommend this to dry skin types. 🌿 Hada Labo Gokujyun Hyaluronic Acid Lotion Moist 4.5/5 I really love how hydrating this product is! The only reason its a 4.5 is because I like the premium lotion more but this one is still good. I found the premium version to be more hydrating for my dryer skin type! Overall, both are great options for hydrating toners depending on your skin type! 🌿 A'PIEU - Madecassoside Sun Cream 3/5 I really like the texture of this sunscreen cause it’s one of the only physical sunscreens I’ve used that wasn’t drying. I actually found this to be quite moisturizing and it didn’t pill under makeup. The big downside of this sunscreen is that it has a white cast on my more medium skin tone. The white cast isn’t too bad so I think people with a fair complexion won’t experience much white cast. I ended up using this on days when I was staying home or on my hands. It’s also only 39 spf, PA++ and I like my sunscreens to be 50+. 🌿 MISSHA - All-Around Safe Block Essence Sun Milk 4/5 This is a chemical sunscreen, spf 50, PA+++ and I really enjoyed it! Chemical sunscreens don’t irritate my skin so I prefer them much more over physical ones. This sunscreen was hydrating, and blended well into the skin without any white cast. It also did not pill under my makeup and it gave me a nice glow. 🌿Bioderma Cicabio Cream 5/5 I used this cream on days when my skin felt really sensitive and dry and I really loved it! The texture is unique, it’s very thick and spreadable. It repaired my skin so well and go rid of any irritation on my skin.

Korean sunscreens....sun milk or sun gel? 🤔
I have combo skin that is very acne prone! Sunscreen is one of the most important steps in your skincare routine! Reapplying is also important, which can be hard sometimes (especially over makeup)! I live in Korea currently so I have full access to some of the best skincare products you can find (for cheap too). I had heard of both of these sunscreens before purchasing so I wanted to try them myself to form an opinion. Both are great options but one is definitely better..... The MISSHA - Missha All-around Safe Block Essence Sun Milk is good don’t get me wrong. The consistency is quite literally like milk, supper runny. The downfall for this one is that it initially leaves a pretty harsh white cast, but it blends in eventually. The price is decent (I got it on sale) it’s around $24 I believe, but you can find it cheaper on YesStyle! It also had almost a powdery scent to it, which is not bad but some people don’t like fragrance so I figured I would mention that. I haven’t tried reapplying this over makeup yet but I feel like if used with a beauty blender it would work well! The LAGOM - Cellus Sun Gel SPF50+ is probably my favorite sunscreen I’ve ever used. It checks off all the boxes for me, I love it! It has a gel-cream consistency and it is super super easy to blend. It has a pleasant smell (again some people hate fragrance but I don’t mind). It doesn’t leave a white cast at all and while it doesn’t dry down matte, it leaves a beautiful glow that isn’t oily!!!! (When I think of a dewy spf I think Krave Beauty’s beet shield—which leaves me oily, this Lagom one is not like that!) It is priced at around $25 but I really think it’s worth it! I have tried to reapply over makeup and it works for me. I just pat it in gently with my fingertips/palms. #cheriepartner

The Korean Advanced Night Repair Range?
Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Probio Ampoule I’ve been wanting to buy Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair so I was doing my usual YouTube review watching when a couple of the recommended videos take me to the review of Missha Time Revolution ampoule, which they say is the best dupe of Estee Lauder.   I discovered this product when I went to Seoul with my mom and my sister last year. This area called Myeong-dong is popular among locals and tourists for its shopping centers and stalls. South Korea is known to have local skincare brands that work. A lot of Asian and Western countries have adopted the Korean 10-step skincare routine that will give you glass skin. Back then, my sister told me it’s a good dupe of Estee Lauder but I didn’t buy it. I did now after watching a couple of YouTube videos saying it’s the best serum that they’ve tried.   I’ve been using it for just a week now but so far, I can attest to it hydrating my skin. These past few days, my skin is feeling a bit tighter and drier, and maybe this is because we’re on quarantine and I don’t get the sunlight I used to get during the pre-lockdown period. This ampoule is saving my skin from being too dry. I noticed that my cheek area has been looking moisturized since using this. Even though it says it’s a night serum, I also apply it during daytime after putting on the essence.   So far, I’m happy with the results I’m getting so I’ll continue using this product.   Missha Time Revolution FTE Intensive Moist Because of the KBeauty and Japanese skincare regimen fever, a lot of people have become fans of essence. They say it is the product that helps strengthen your skin’s form and helps your skin absorb all the goodness of the products’ ingredients you put on after it. I have tried SK-II essence and it did not really do anything on my skin, but I am not a quitter so I decided to try another essence, and see if it works.   The product is Missha Time Revolution Intensive Moist essence. I discovered it during a trip to Seoul last year, but the YouTube videos about the Missha Time Revolution line are the ones that made me finally give in and buy this. I use it after cleansing my face. I guess it works like a toner so since receiving my order last week, I have been using it in lieu of my toner, before applying the Missha ampoule from the same line. I put 5 drops of it directly on my palms and apply it onto my skin. I know some people use cotton pads to apply it but I think the cotton will absorb the ingredients so I skip it.   I like that it doesn’t smell anything unlike SK-II. It’s also very watery and light, like a toner. I like the moisturized, hydrated feeling it renders to my skin immediately after every application. I wait for a minimum of 10 minutes for my skin to fully absorb it before applying the ampoule. So far, I am loving it as it doesn’t leave my face dry, quite the nice opposite actually. I will continue using it for the next few weeks to see the results.

Here’s some Empties
🍇 So I’ve been hoarding my empties for awhile now (and there’s going to have to be a second empties post because there are many more) and they’re starting to take over my bathroom so let’s talk about them so I can throw them away. 🍇 Missha The First Treatment Essence Intensive Moist: First of all I take issue that the words “intensive moist” are printed on the bottle. Aside from that this was a nice lightweight, hydrating essence with the key ingredient being purple barley ferment (90% to be exact). As much as I love the idea of fermented ingredients, my skin doesn’t really respond to them. So I probably would not repurchase, but if ferment works for you this is a lovely essence. 🍇 Krave Beauty The Beet Shield: I love Krave Beauty’s products and this sunscreen is no exception. This is a lightweight, milky SPF 50 PA++++ sunscreen containing several skin protecting antioxidants. Wears beautifully under makeup. Would definitely purchase again. 🍇 Kate Somerville Retinol Vita C Power Serum: A potent retinol serum with vitamin C. While this is about a 1% retinol, I did not notice any irritation (although my skin is basically bulletproof at this point). The addition of vitamin C left my skin looking incredibly bright, firm, and plump. Would 1000% buy again. 🍇 Farmacy Beauty Very Cherry Bright Vitamin C Serum. I LOVE this vitamin C. It’s lightweight, hydrating, plumping, and brightening. Would and have purchased again. 🍇 Sunday Riley Juno Oil. My favorite oil. This stuff makes my skin look so glowy and healthy. I’ve been through about four bottles now. An absolute holy grail product. Would and have purchased again.

Soft Skin ASAP: Three Fool-Proof Ingredients
Anti-aging ingredients are great but sometimes I just want results and I want them now!! Ya get me? Here are three products starring ingredients that may not have the research papers to 💯 back up its long term anti-aging effects but have given life back to my parched face. But more importantly, all three products have given me baby soft cheeks after a single usage and that’s what I live for! 1. Fermented Mugwort (Artemisia) 🌿 Product: MISSHA - Time Revolution Artemisia Treatment Essence Ingredient: Fermented Mugwort has been an East Asian beauty secret for ages. Ive been using Missha’s Artemisia/Mugwort Essence as a PM toner and I can tell you that this product has instantly softened and rehydrated my skin overnight. Benefits: Mugwort is a herbal plant that is naturally packed with vitamins A and C. The fermentation process in this particular product is known to deliver faster results than other similar dupes. Known to reduce redness and soothe dry/irritated skin. 2. Bífida Ferment Lysate 🍦 Product: ESTĒE LAUDER - Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Multi-Recovery Complex Ingredient: Bífida Ferment Lysate, a probiotic as worthy as gold for overnight results in achieving soft supple skin. Benefits: First used in the serum patented by Estée Lauder, BFL is like yogurt for the skin- world reknown for its benefits. Protects skin barrier and UV induced DNA damage. 3. Propolis Honey Extract 🍯 Product: SKINFOOD - Royal Honey Propolis Enrich Essence Ingredient: Propolis extract has been used for thousands of years to speed up traumatic burns and wound recovery. It is no wonder that this 66.3% black bee propolis extract instantly resolved any skin irregularities on my face. Despite the high concentration of extract (it’s not actual “honey”), this serum is super light and doesn’t dry sticky at all! Great for layering. Benefits: known to increase cell turnover, decrease inflammation and heal damaged skin barrier/cuts. Cheers to soft skin 🥂

CHERIE made me buy it 🙈
I mainly have combo skin, but I suffer from acne so I need products that won’t break me out! Not one specific person made me buy this, but I did look at many reviews before buying and they were all 5 stars/great reviews! I live in Korea so I have all the amazing skincare stores right in town. I went to MISSHA to get some sunscreen and wanted to know more about this essence. WHAT IS ARTEMISIA? Artemisia is mugwort extract, this is amazing for anti-inflammatory, moisturizing, hydrating, brightening, soothing, and balancing. This is recommended for sensitive, irritated, and acne prone skin!!! Since I’m on Retin-A I fall into all those categories. It is a liquid essence but it isn’t slimy at all, so it’s more lightweight I would say. I would almost say it’s as lightweight as a toner. It has an earthy smell, but it is still pleasant. I use this right after my toner! And I usually pour some into my hand, Pat it onto my face, let dry, then apply however many more coats I may need depending on the day. I think this has helped tremendously with redness and keeping my skin from being irritated by Retin-A. I love this product! Will repurchase! Not worth the hype🙈🥺
𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐡𝐚 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐄𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐢𝐬𝐭⁣⁣ ~ a watery essence packed with 80% Fermented Yeast Extract, an ingredient with similar components to NMF (Natural Moisturizing Factor) to target imbalanced skin; aims to improve the appearance of fine lines, evens skin tone while hydrating, and rejuvenates the skin to yield a glowing complexion. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ MISSHA - Time Revolution First Treatment Essence Intensive Moist I used this essence last year (I did not finish the bottle and got rid of it) ⁣⁣ I really wanted to love it 🙈 I've heard nothing but good things about it but I used more than half a bottle and didn't notice much of a difference. Maybe my skin was really problematic to start with. I did not expect it to cure my acne or help with hyperpigmentation, but I did not notice a difference when it came to radiance, skin texture, or redness either. To add, I’ve never really had good results with using fermented yeast extract. It seems to never really work on my oily acne prone skin. It claims to help diminish fine lines and wrinkles so I suppose it’s formulated and better for use on mature and dry skin. I did love the packaging and the feel of the product when you put it on though. It certainly hydrates but that’s about it. In my opinion, I don't understand the hype of this product and I think there are likely much better essences out there (like the Iope Bio Essence). I know I'm in the minority on this, so if you're on the fence it may be worth a shot for you. I’d go for rice extract.

Brightening Essences For Different Skin Types
Combination skin people, can I get an ‘aye’? If you’ve got combination skin, you’ll know that selecting which products to use is not so straightforward. Here are three essences that I’ve used in the past (and in the present) that are great for different skin types. With FIKÄ Brightening Essence With FIKÄ was given to me by my boyfriend after his Korea trip. It was his first time seeing the brand and he thought this essence was pretty unique since it comes with a pump bottle. The texture is also more akin to a lotion or cream, unlike most regular essences. I actually like using this product because it really works on the brightening aspect. It’s also light enough that I actually use this in the morning. Plus, the price is very affordable, costing less than $10 for 50ml worth of product. NACIFIC - Phyto Niacin Whitening Essence Nacific’s Phyto Niacin Essence is my current PM routine essence. It contains Niacinamide, which, if you’ve already read some of my other reviews, is a favorite ingredient of mine. Niacinamide works so well on my skin that I still get amazed every day. The consistency of this product is a bit thicker than water, but it’s still pretty watery. I love how smooth it makes my skin. When combined with other niacinamide products, I think it really does a great job of lightening my dark spots and acne scars. MISSHA - Time Revolution First Treatment Essence Intensive Moist I’ve already finished two bottles of this product and it’s one of my favorite products ever. And I mean ever. It’s totally on my HG list. It’s hydrating but not heavy at all, so you can easily use this in the morning. At $50 per 150ml bottle, it’s a great dupe for a much more expensive essence, the SK-II Essence, which retails for around $100. The only downside to this essence? The glass packaging. It looks nice, yes, but it’s extremely fragile. I dropped my newly-bought third bottle from my dresser one morning and it shattered into a million pieces. It’s the first time that ever happened to me so yes, ya gurl kinda cried a bit. That’s also why I haven’t bought another one yet. Traumatizing, really. All these products are pretty good, especially if you just want to hydrate and brighten your skin. WithFIKÄ works great on dry skin, Nacific works well for dry and normal skin, while Missha works perfectly for those with normal and oily skin.

10 Step Korean skin care routine!
After hearing how good the 10 step Korean skin care routine is, I decided to try it myself. All of the products above are from sokoglam 10 step skincare kit. (sokoglam has four pre-curated sets you can buy for your specific skin type). I’ve used them for over a month and noticed that my skin has become dry and rough! So I’ve stopped using all of them together and introduced one product at a time and figured out the toner has caused the dryness. So I discontinued using that. I liked a few products and others not so much, I’ll be doing the reviews for each product separately soon. Stay tuned. 10 step korean skincare didnt really work for my skin like it worked for other women who have amazing stories about how their skin has transformed. Anyway I think you can give it a try and see if it works for you. Also, it’s a good intro to k-beauty products. 10 steps : - Oil cleanser - water based cleanser - Exfoliator - Toner - Essence - Treatments - sheet masks (2 to 3 times a week) - eye cream - moisturizer - SPF If you don’t want to buy all the products, you can start with - oil cleanser - water based cleaner - exfoliator - moisturizer -SPF Let me know your 10 step Korean skin care stories!

Amazing K-Beauty Eye Cream
The Missha Misa Geum Sul Vitalizing Eye Cream is such a treat. It’s super rich, creamy, and moisturizing, especially perfect for dry winters. It’s really thick which I’m a fan of, but definitely isn’t for you if you prefer a lightweight eye cream! It’s formulated with adaptogens like ginseng water & extract and reishi mushroom extract, and another unique ingredient that I never thought I’d see in a skincare product.. deer antler extract! Don’t worry, not harm is done to the deers in obtaining their antler extract! Definitely not a vegan formula though. 😝 It is free of parabens, colorants, GMOs, mineral oils, and more irritants. This herbal concoction gently yet powerfully moisturizes the delicate skin around the eye, while helping with anti-aging by firming the skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines, and brightening dark circles. Overall, such a fan of this. I get really dry eye skin and this helps keep the skin around my eyes supple & smooth. The price varies from $30-45 depending on the site you buy from, but I do think it’s worth that price tag! It’s actually a reasonable price for how rich and effective the cream is. Plus the tub lasts a really long time. I’d recommend this to anyone, especially dry or aging skin! MISSHA - Geum Sul Vitalizing Eye Cream

Look Well Rested Even If You’re Not😝😝
I don’t know about you, but the quarantine period is really keeping up until the wee hours of the morning, leaving me with about 5 or 6 hours of sleep in a day. It’s not ideal but when you have things to do, you just gotta deal with them (or if Friends is keeping you entertained at night, then you just gotta keep watching one more episode, am I right?). So since I’ve been scrimping on sleep these past days, I need to step up my skincare game to make my sensitive dry combination skin happy and bouncy. Here are my secrets!   Avène - Hydrance Light Hydrating Emulsion I can’t express my love for Avene enough since I lived in France last year. It’s an inclusive French skincare brand that you can find in pharmacies (if you know French women, they do love their pharmacies for shopping skincare products). I find all their products as super gentle on my skin, and really effective too. This hydrating emulsion is a perfect layering product that I use after my essence. It’s light enough but I can really feel that it’s moisturizing. It’s fragrance-free so yay for those who have sensitive skin like mine.   Avène - Hydrance Intense Rehydrating Serum After applying the emulsion, I then layer it with Avene Intense Rehydrating Serum. It comes off as a watery texture but when I massage it onto my face, it feels deeply hydrating. It’s not named ‘intense’ for no reason - perfect for my dry combination skin! It’s lightweight so my skin absorbs it quickly, plus it feels so good on the skin. It’s as if I can feel that my sleep-deprived skin is drinking all the hydrating properties from this serum. Recommend this 100%!   MISSHA - Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Probio Ampoule I then follow the serum with my favorite ampoule, the Missha Time Revolution variant. I’ve been using this for more than a month now, and let me tell you, my skin loooooves it! The fermented properties in this product keeps my face moisturized all day and all night. Plus, I wake up with a glowing skin, I’m not even kidding. You can read my first impression review but now that I’ve been using it non-stop for more than a month, I can really vet the effectiveness of this product. I can’t recommend this enough to my ladies who have dry combination/ sensitive skin. You should grab a bottle now (I know I did).

Missha's Style Long Wear Cushi
Missha's Style Long Wear Cushion Lip Crayon is a lip crayon with a cushion tip on the other end that you can use to blend out the pigment for different finishes. Pros: -reasonably priced ($12.00) -color that I got (Dolly Coral) is a beautiful shade that I think will compliment all skin tones -nice color payoff. . Cons: -it leaves your lip looking pretty dried-- my lips weren't that dry to begin with but after one coat, the lip crayon really accentuated every flake/peeling/dryness I had -cushion tip (for smudging/blending) feels unnecessary-- maybe I wasn't using it correctly, but I tried smudging and it took off a lot of the product off my lips, so I ended up having to apply a second coat -color doesn't last very long. .

Let’s talk cushion foundations!! I love cushion/ k-beauty foundations, they’re always radiant and non drying on the skin and is usually sheer-medium coverage which is why I usually gravitate towards them. This is by the brand Missa and line friends collab! It’s so beautiful on the skin however there are only two shades........ you can also buy a empty cushion pact and add your own foundation. $10

Sunblocks are not all the same
Sunblocks are not all the same
✨This is one of my holy grails. Growing up, I remember the smell of the greasy, sunblock that parents use to make their kids wear to the beach. That being the main association when I hear ‘sunblock’. As I got older, the market for sun protection grew and exposure to the varieties emerged. I didn’t paid attention to protecting my skin elsewhere from the beach.... until I moved to Las Vegas, with scorching desert heat and blazing summers. I went to many trials to protect my skin. • ✨ After trial and error, I found that sunblocks back then we’re only made for beach and outside sports. They almost always left a white residue, they felt really greasy, they didn’t work with with makeup and they had a strong chemical smell. Bonus, if it didn’t burn if sweat dropped into your eyes. I looked to Korean and Asian products for the cure I was looking for. • ✨I can across this a long time, and it’s still one of my favorite. The Missha sun milk Spf 50. It is watery, light, not creamy and not sticky. It goes on clear hypo-allergic and alcohol free. Not to mention having essence in it! 🙌 I like to use this sometimes as a primer. It still continues to be one of my holy grails. • Take care and be kind, to others and yourself 🤗

Misshaus green tea eye and lip
Misshaus green tea eye and lip makeup remover is only $4.80! This is my favorite makeup remover and I will never use anything else. It removes waterproof makeup like a dream without feeling greasy or stinging my eyes (crucial for this teary-eyed gal). I like it better than the Clinique makeup remover which I had used before this. If you need one, this is a great choice!
