Healed in under 1 week! How I prevented scarring
🐺So I have a 9 month old Siberian Husky, he’s got way too much energy for me sometimes. He totally booped me in the eye with his teeth & basically bit my eyelid. I was honestly so f***ing worried, eye skin is so sensitive & my skin scar easily, even from bruising. So how did I get this back to normal in 6 days? First things first... Regularly applying (yup, multiple times a day) SUNSCREEN will help prevent hyperpigmentation. ☀️When you get a cut or bruise, even a baby one, your skin barrier has been compromised. Even the healthiest skin barrier will not protect you from UV rays whatsoever & any new skin growing after an abrasion is extremely susceptible to UV damage, regardless of your skin tone! I’m super pale, but even with skin that doesn’t burn easily, newly generated skin tissue will become darker if you don’t use an SPF to protect it. I included a pic of a scratch I got from my dog several months ago, where I totally didn’t protect it from the sun. I can be lazy about body sunscreen & this proved to me that almost any broken skin will scar if it gets sun. I used: KINSHIP - Self Reflect Probiotic Moisturzing Sunscreen Zinc Oxide SPF 32 But honestly any sunscreen you like with a decent SPF is key for scar prevention. Reapply & reapply! I love this formula because it’s so moisturizing! Full review in a previous post. Keeping your skin hydrated & moisturized is super important too, you want to give your skin nourishment while it heals. Which brings me to the second most important thing. 🐌A repair serum: Beauty of Joseon - Repair Serum : Ginseng+Snail Mucin I have fully fallen in love with Snail Mucin after this serum! Because Snail Mucin is a stress-induced excretion, it's comprised of ingredients meant to repair or protect from injury. These include growth factors, which work by triggering the growth of new skin cells & new collagen. This particular serum is really affordable-$17. It contains over 3% Snail Mucin & it’s over 63% Ginseng extract, also amazing for skin repair & evening tone. Allantoin is another component in the secretion; healing properties, calms irritation & stimulates cell regeneration Also fragrance/alcohol free! Sulwhasoo - First Care Activating Serum Limited Edition This is also packed with Ginseng & other reparative botanical extracts. This really helps me retain moisture in my skin, I use it 2x a day & have noticed generally brighter & clearer skin in the last few months. You use this after cleansing or toning, before other serums. TATCHA - The Silk Peony Melting Eye Cream After a couple days I added this. ETUDE - SoonJung 2x Barrier Intensive Cream Great for sensitive skin & has vitamin E. I alternated between this &: TATCHA - The Dewy Skin Cream Also used this: Beauty of Joseon - Glow Serum : Propolis+Niacinamide Almost 60% Propolis + 2% Niacinamide

These products improved my acne in 3 weeks
Since March 2020 I started breaking out really bad. It got even worse in September and I think it was due to over exfoliation and irritated skin. I started using these products below 3 weeks ago and as you can see from the pictures my acne has noticeably improved. Most of the acne has subsided. The acne on my temples are almost non existent and just some redness remains. Also the redness on my cheeks are fading and are smaller in size. Current routine: Toner: ETUDE - Etude House SoonJung pH 5.5 Relief Toner Serums: The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 Treatment: AZCLEAR - Medicated Lotion Creams: LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Duo (+) and ETUDE - SoonJung 2x Barrier Intensive Cream Retinol: DRUNK ELEPHANT - A-Passioni Retinol Cream Really happy with these products right now! I will continue using these products and might add Vitamin C as well. I will post another update in another 3 weeks, stay tuned 🙈

10 week progress pic :))
Just posting this as a little reminder to myself that my skin will have its ups and downs, I just gotta be patient :)) About 2.5 months ago I got this weird pile of breakouts on my cheeks and I felt SO bad about myself, and now it’s still not completely cleared and I’m dealing with quite a few acne scars but I still need to appreciate my progress! Here’s my stuff in case it helps whoo CeraVe - Salicylic Acid Facial Cleanser mild, gentle, does the trick. I use this evenings! ma:nyo Cleansing Soda Foam: 5 stars bit of an obscure brand but I use this mornings and sometimes evenings and it feels great, my face feels super clean but not stripped or dry HADALABO - Rohto Hadalabo Gokujun Hyaluronic Lotion Moist a lovely light toner! Full of hyaluronic acid, dries really nice on my face LOL The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 pretty staple serum, I may try one that’s more sophisticated LOL but this one is still great The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% still on the hunt for a better niacinimide product for my skin type since this doesn’t absorb super well, but I use this nights and only on my problem areas and it works pretty good Mad Hippie - Vitamin C Serum just starting on this and only using it nights but it absorbs well!! Hopefully doesn’t cause breakouts LOL since new products were the cause of my last pimple saga ETUDE - Soonjung Hydro Barrier Cream I really like this! Wonderful basic cream, very affordable. I’ve thought about switching to other more hyped moisturizers but this works so well already that I always just stick with it PURITO - Centella Green Level Unscented Sun SPF50+ I admit, I almost never used sunscreen until I got this. . . but this is super light, never greasy, absorbs in a minute tops, and does the job! Happy holidays and this is just a reminder that you’re awesome no matter what ur skin is deciding to do at the moment. That’s something I wish I remembered more often :))

I Like To Keep It On A High Note
First of, the title is by Kendrick Lamar. I post mostly makeup looks but I thought I would post my daily skincare. I don’t buy fragranced products and I do my best to buy vegan products. I have struggled to find a water-based cleanser but I finally found one! About my skin: My skin is normal-dry and has seen at least thirty 4th of Julys. It is incredibly reactive. Enough talk. Onto the products. CAUDALIE - Make-Up Removing Cleansing Oil A Holy Grail product. It has a faint scent that it took me a little while to get used to but I love this product. Balms always seemed so messy to me and I hated using them but this is relaxing. It is like getting a mini-face message if mini face messages also removed three coats of Pat McGrath Dark Star mascara. If you are looking to start double cleansing? Start here. I will just take a 15% commission. PEACH & LILY - Power Calm Hydrating Gel Cleanser I only started using this last week but it is the perfect double cleanse companion: not too strong and not too moisturizing and goopy. It has a faint stone fruit smell that actually smells like stone fruit and not some chemical additive. There is not aloe vera, no HA, and the price is really great and it’s vegan! acwell - Licorice pH Balancing Cleansing TonerI just ordered this toner on the advice of sokoglam. I tried klairs toner and my skin started itching so badly. I got my money back and I am hoping this is a better experience. If not, off to Ulta I shall go! KINSHIP - Pimple Potion Retinal + Salicylic Acid Acne Treatment I took a picture of my chin and the kind people of Cherie did not make fun of me. They told me I had milia. There aren’t a lot of vegan salicylic acid treatments but kinship is one. It has gotten most of the smaller milia out (although now I have these weird large chin pores. Like seriously huge OMG). I am being patient while it works on the slightly bigger ones. Thank you, Cherie! Krave - Barrier Relief My skin was a hot mess and this product saved me. I think this is my last bottle but if your skin barrier has established barricades and is throwing bricks? This is a great product! Plus it’s vegan! ETUDE - Soonjung Hydro Barrier Cream My AM moisturizer. Slow to absorb but when the weather is cold it will be so moisturizing! Milk MAKEUP - Vegan Milk Moisturizer PM moisturizer! Slightly tingly but really moisturizing. Do I need to say it is vegan? dear, klairs - Fundamental Nourishing Eye Butter My eternal love. Glossier. - Invisible Shield Daily Sunscreen Terrible company; only sunscreen that doesn’t break me out. JOSIE MARAN - Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter Vanilla Apricot I have it in unscented. Great for hands. Sustainably harvested by women paid a living wage. Do you use any of these products?

My Lash Serum Etude house Review ✨👍👎
ETUDE - My Lash Serum $7-10 AUD One of my first purchases from the brand ‘Etude House’, I’ve been very envy of Korean skin care/beauty products so here’s the first Korean beauty review :) I’ve been using this product for over 2-3 months and it’s very enjoying to do so.This lash serum is very moisturising for the eyelash, it is Formulated with Cornus Officinalis Fruit extract and Panthenol, this eye lash treatment conditions for healthier looking eyelashes. This product also makes me eyelashes look very healthy and gives a little bit of a lift. I love how the eyelash applicator has lots of small bristles and isn’t so big as it makes it easier to apply and is more even. This product is also very affordable and works like a gem although I did not see much growth but that just could be just me, as many others have seen growth using this product. I would buy this again if I was in need of an cheap eyelash serum. I used this while having eyelash extension so my natural lashes will be strong and healthy once the fake lashes fall off. ✨I hope this review helped you guys, feel free to ask me anything related to this product or anything else :)

First lash serum I’ve tried!
This is the “my lash serum” from Etude House, and I think it’s such a good product. I haven’t tried much k-beauty yet, but this was a great introduction. I use this lash serum on my eyebrows and eyelashes most nights (on the nights that I don’t forget to, lol), and I really do think my eyelashes look thicker and longer! They also haven’t been falling out as much as normal, and I think it really is working. I’ve had it for about a month now. I haven’t seen any significant changes on my eyebrow hairs, but they’re also really sparse and I feel like it’ll take a long time to see any changes, but I’m down to keep using this serum until that happens!

update skincare routine for fungal acne!
yay updated skincare routine! these past few months i had been getting these crazy breakouts on my forehead, but after a switching some products, my skin has been thriving! cleanser although i love the CeraVe - Salicylic Acid Facial Cleanser, i found that i would irritate my skin a bit and i decided to switch over to my favorite fa safe gentle cleanser ETUDE - SoonJung pH6.5 Whip Cleanser serums dont get me wrong, i absolutely LOVE the NATURIUM - Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2%this was my second bottle of it but once i ran out i decided to finish up the PEACH & LILY - Glass Skin Refining Serumso it wouldn’t be lying around in my skincare stash. but i still much prefer the naturium serum over peach and lily. essence i wanted to incorporate an exfoliating step in mu routine sence i had drop the SA cleanser. so i thought the ISNtree - Clear Skin 8% AHA Essencewould be a perfect fit in my routine. i use this serum every other day. treatment of course i have my holy grail Curology - Curology formulawith azelaic acid, clindamycin, and zinc pyrithione, this is the one product i will never get rid of moisturizer i think the FIRST AID BEAUTY - Hello FAB Coconut Water Creamis an all around good moisturizer. its fungal acne safe however it wasn’t moisturizing enough nor did it prevent breakouts. i was previously using the NATURIUM - Marine Hyaluronic Water Creambefore but had temporarily stopped using it. although its not fungal acne safe, this moisturizer hasn’t caused any breakouts and is just so luxurious. and cheaper 😳 masks ive had this DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial Masksince last christmas, and since december is comming soon, i want to use this mask up as quickly as possible because baby this wasn’t cheap. i use this on the weekends in place of my exfoliating essence. oil / occlusive in my last routine i was using Aquaphor - Healing Ointment Skin Protectanton my cheeks for the evening but switched to The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Squalaneoils because i felt that it absorbed nicely and didn’t leave my poor pillow so mf greasy sunscreen i love love love love the FACE HALO - MISSHA All-Around Safe Block Aqua Sun Gel SPF50+ PA++++but i wanted to try something new and something more accessible to me so i tried the Neutrogena - Sensitive Skin Face Liquid Sunscreen SPF 50and aaahh its an ok sunscreen but not as good as the missha one micellar water i would always buy the GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Cleanser & Waterproof Makeup Remover( blue) and i love it its great but i wanted to switch it up and use the pink one. its ok but i think the blue one works better. comment which products you love for fungal acne!! like and share! xo melanie 💗

Easy to use and looks oh so natural!
ETUDE - Drawing Eye Brow I picked this up when my last brow pencil finished. It was on sale on YesStyle so I thought eh why not. Generally you can’t go wrong with a brow pencil in my opinion. I really liked this one because: • It’s not extremely pigmented: sometimes it’s hard to make hair like strokes in the brow with super pigmented pencils as they won’t look realistic. I find this pencil has just enough pigment to ensure strokes look natural. And if you make a mistake it’s easy to fix with the spoolie. • The pencil part itself is thin and makes it easy to draw hair strokes. • It provides great brow definition. For reference I’ve only used the pencil on my brows in the second pic :)

My Everyday Makeup Routine for Today!
This is basically my everyday make up that I do. Sometimes I switch up with the foundation base depending on how I feel. The same goes for eyeliner. Products I used in order to achieve the look: TATCHA - The Water Cream LANCÔME - UV Expert Aquagel Defense Primer & Moisturizer SPF 50 Rare Beauty - Liquid Touch Brightening Concealer (Color: 250W) ILIA - True Skin Serum Foundation (Color: Texel) LANCÔME - Long Time No Shine Loose Setting Powder benefit - Hoola Matte Bronzer ETUDE - Drawing Eye Brow (Color: Brown) benefit - Gimme Brow+ Volumizing Eyebrow Gel (Color: 3) URBAN DECAY - Naked Reloaded Eyeshadow Palette Lise Watier Feline Eyeliner in Brown tarte - SEA Surfer Curl Volumizing Mascara NARS - Limited Edition Orgasm Blush (mini version) Rare Beauty - Positive Light Liquid Luminizer (Color: Mesmerize) All of these products I've used for a long time other than Rare Beauty (which recently came out but it's amazing for its price!). Most of the products I've also at least bought them twice or more. The way I did my make-up today I was able to do a natural glow with a bit of contouring. Reminder, I don't go ham on using my foundation or concealer. I usually just dab a small amount on each side. Hope you guys enjoy!

PM Routine for Dry Sensitive Skin 🌙🌵
This is my boyfriend’s PM skincare routine (created by me! 😁). Before we met 3 years ago, he never moisturized or used sunscreen, and washed his face with body wash. 😱 As you can imagine, his skin used to be hella dry and dehydrated, and his skin barrier was damaged. He has very dry, sensitive skin, isn’t acne-prone, and likes simple and quick routines so that he doesn’t have to spend too much time getting ready. 🌙 PM Routine 1. BANILA CO - Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm Original This is a simple and affordable cleansing balm that he uses to remove sunscreen at the end of the day. It doesn’t irritate his eyes or leave an oily film behind. 2. ETUDE - Soon Jung, pH 6.5 Whip Cleanser He’s tried other simple cleansers such as the Cetaphil face wash and the Innisfree Blueberry Cleanser, and all of them have made his face feel tight and dry. This product does not, it is a gentle foaming cleanser that doesn’t make his skin feel stripped. 3. THE inkey LIST - Hyaluronic Acid Serum He uses this product on a damp face to hydrate his skin. My skin is sensitive to hylauronic acid, but my boyfriend doesn’t have any issues with HA serums. 4. ETUDE - Soon Jung, 2x Barrier Intensive Cream This moisturizer has skin repairing ingredients like Madecassoside and is great for his dry skin. It’s a little too occlusive/greasy on me, but his skin absorbs it well. 5. timeless SKIN CARE - Squalane Oil 100% Pure His skin is so dry that moisturizer alone is often not occlusive enough to last throughout the night. To supplement, he pats a few drops of squalane oil into his face as the last step of his routine. He reports that when he uses squalane oil, his face doesn’t feel tight and dry when he wakes up the next morning. Hope this helps those of you with a similar skin type as his! 😊 His AM routine is also posted on my page!

Fungal acne routine & getting rid of it forever!
I’ve struggled with malassezia Folliculitis/fungal acne for 6 months. My skin’s improved but you do need patience! Now I breakout occasionally, have redness and pigmentation. Disclaimer: Everyone’s different & this is what I’ve learnt. Leave suggestions below! Treatments: I ruined my gut health and ended getting constant yeast infections which links to malassezia as both are overgrowths of fungus/yeast! I recommend an anti-candida diet. Celery juice, apple cider vinegar in water, probiotics and supplements to boost my immune system all helped. I used Folliculitis scout to search for malassezia-safe products. I’ve used other websites and tbh some of them aren’t accurate or their recommended products broke me out. Every oil (except squalane & MCT), fatty acids and lipids is used by malassezia to grow! Once you eliminate these (which is hard), you can use glycerin or amino acids in your skincare routine and makeup bc they need oil, lipids or fatty acids for malassezia to grow off them. Skin barrier health and moisture is important. Don’t use too many treatments bc your skin will just get sensitive, dry and produce more oils. Also the Nizoral shampoo will ruin your skin barrier even if it kills malassezia off. There are other ways to treat it! Skincare routine: Morning: Benton - Deep Green Tea Toner green tea extract inhibits and combats malassezia. It’s a soothing and moisturising toner/essence. It’s antibacterial properties can target other types of acne too. skinstitut - Vitamin C 100% mix w/moisturiser for pigmentation/scarring Like I'm Five - All Day Soothing Gel Lotion I LOVE THIS. It has xylitol that combats malassezia, glycerin and hyaluronic acid as humectants and panthenol for healing. It’s on iherb for 12 AUD too! A steal! The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Squalane squalane has helped my skin go from oily to normal, hence stopping your skin from over producing sebum where malassezia grows. elta md SKINCARE - UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46 have had a hard time finding a good sunscreen this is one of the few malassezia safe sunscreens. Helps with hyper pigmentation. Nighttime: BIODERMA - Sensibio H2O Soothing Micellar Cleansing Water have tried others and always go back to this. Tried MCT oil, it’s malassezia-safe but oil cleansing is time consuming for me personally. ETUDE - Soon Jung, pH 6.5 Whip Cleanser I’ve tried vanicream but this massively changed my skin. facetheory - PoreBright Serum N10 only use on problem areas 2x a week. Salicylic & azelaic combats malassezia. Or AZCLEAR - Medicated Lotion Benton - Deep Green Tea Toner Like I'm Five - All Day Soothing Gel Lotion The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Squalane

Full face of Korean makeup! ✨ #CheriePartner
Well, almost. Only thing I’m missing is a brow product so I used my trusted e.l.f. - Wow Brow Gel but for the rest of my face I used only k-beauty! Let me break down the look for you 💗 Let’s start with complexion products, today I used the touch in SOL - Pretty Filter Icy Sherbet Primer Touch in Sol makes one of my favorite primers, I bought their No Poreblem Primer on my first trip to Japan, the store had a small selection of K-beauty and the pretty bottle caught my eye not gonna lie! Then I learned is actually one of their best sellers! This gel primer claims to lock makeup in place, provide a cooling effect upon application and hydrate and prep skin before makeup. I have dehydrated skin and very mild rosacea, mostly on my cheeks so I’m always looking for something to combat the redness. This is such an innovative product in my opinion, the cooling sensation is incredible and really soothes my skin. An ingredient that also made it super interesting to me is the Sakura extract, I didn’t know but sakura is rich in essential fatty acids and helps protect the natural skin barrier. As my base I used the MISSHA - Glow Tension SPF50+ PA+++ cushion foundations are so cool. I love that you can use replace the foundation cushion when you’re out, but use the same compact over and over again. Cushion foundations are often lighter in coverage which is much more my style than higher coverage foundation, which I think are more common in western makeup styles. This cushion is formulated with collagen and hyaluronic acid to plump up skin and keep it looking radiant. It’s not cakey on me and lasts well throughout the day. My only gripe is the shade range, I use shade #22 Beige and it’s still a little ashy on me, also I think it’s a little too light for me, we’ll have to wait and see if it works better for winter! For blush I used the peripera - Velvet Cheek Blush these blushes are sooo cute! They look truly velvety on the skin and feel so soft on the pan, they’re super smooth. I used the shade 08 Appealing dry coral on both cheeks and lips. Next for eyes I used the ETUDE - Etude House Eyelash Curler and ETUDE - Dr.Mascara Fixer For Perfect Lash I tried the eyelash curler at the Etude House store in Harajuku and really liked it but when I went back to buy it they were sold out 😭 I ordered one off Yesstyle but it’s not as good as the one I tried there, it’s just ok. The star here is their Dr. Mascara Fixer tho! This is SO. GOOD. I have long but straight, stubborn lashes that don’t like to stay curled and this literally fixes them in place and my curl lasts all day. It also has fibers to lengthen and you can use it on its own or under mascara AND over mascara to make it waterproof. Also it’s like $5 💸 Lastly for shadow I used peripera - Ink Pocket Shadow Palette one of my favorite pink palettes!

Amazing Mascara Alert!! (Inexpensive)
I have short, EXTREMELY straight eyelashes. I have never been able to find a product that curls and lengthens them without falling flat in a few hours. However, that has changed! I’ve started using a combination of Etude House Dr. Mascara Fixer ($6.50 on Amazon) and Heroine Make Long and Curl waterproof mascara ($9.49 on Amazon). I have spent so much money on so many mascaras, but this $16 combo is doing the trick. Simply curl lashes, apply fixer and apply mascara. Make sure to remove with a good, oil-based cleanser or waterproof mascara remover.KISSME - Kiss Me Waterproof Lengthening and Curling Mascara ETUDE - Dr.Mascara Fixer For Perfect Lash

SoonJung 2x Barrier intensive cream review
SoonJung 2x Barrier intensive cream review
ETUDE - SoonJung 2x Barrier Intensive Cream I got this because I really enjoyed the Soonjung emulsion. Unfortunately, this isn’t what I had hope for. The cream is on the thinner side. I don’t really feel like my skin is improving in any way. This works more as a “barely getting by” lotion rather than a “cream”. The cap is also strange as well. You twist and squeeze but it becomes kinda messy. I feel like it was really unnecessary. For someone with drier skin, I don’t recommend. There has to be better creams out there.

Etude House SoonJung pH 6.5 Whip Cleanser
Etude House SoonJung pH 6.5 Whip Cleanser
Ever since I started using Korean skincare products, I’ve know that when it comes to my face routine I’m not going back. The Etude House SoonJung Whip Clean is one of my favorite facial cleansers I use on a daily basis. It’s supposed to gentle clean the skin while keeping it moisturized with a 6.5 pH and 98.9% naturally derived ingredients. It’s a foam texture and feels great on the skin. I’ve used this cleanser for 4 months and here’s what I think: My Experience I decided to try this cleanser because I was looking for a new one after using CosRX’s face wash for so long. The idea of foam seemed really nice and was one of the reasons I bought it. I like this face wash because it cleans very well and my skin feels great after. It’s gentle so it’s great for my sensitive skin and the pH of it doesn’t leave my skin stripped at all. It’s great. Overall Thoughts I would recommend this cleanser for all skin types because it’s the best. If you’re looking for a Korean face wash or one with a Low pH, this is the one for you. It’s price is at $13 on the Etude House website and I think that’s a great price for such quality ingredients. I definitely think it’s worth it. #Etude House - SoonJung pH6.5 Whip Cleanser[products]#[FiveStars]

Firstly let’s talk about its claims: - smooth & silky - glides on with ease - long-lasting - natural-looking glow - serum control, minimises shine - fluffy applicator for perfect amount of powder My thoughts: - they really do apply smoothly onto the cheeks - buildable pigments - they are definitely long-lasting - not the biggest fan of the fluffy applicator - prefer to use a normal blush brush My only concerns for this product is that I feel that it will only work for light-medium skin tones as many of the shades that they offer are quite light and wouldn’t work for darker skin tones. Overall I really do enjoy these blushes and if you can find a shade that could work for you, then I highly recommend you try them out too🥰

I tried the EtudeHouse ceramid
I tried the EtudeHouse ceramide mask last night. Scent: very light fragrance, almost imperceptible Mask material: like all the 0.2mm masks, thin cotton material that clings very well to the face and is very comfortable Essence: Milky light essence that absorbs very well and feels non-sticky. Results: face felt moisturized but not as deeply hydrated as when I've used other masks in this line. Would probably benefit from putting on hydrating essences and serums underneath and using mask as a semi-occlusive layer.

These are the products I use almost every night for my combination oily skin. - Dr Dennis Gross Stress Rescue Super Serum: A niacinimide based serum. This repairs damaged skin from harsh ingredients or treatments.
