Blueberry Bliss Leave In by Curls
I wasn’t able to upload my video due to length so here is a small write up.
I have been using the Curls - Blueberry Bliss Reparative Leave In Conditioner on and off since 2016/2017. It typically retails for $12 for an 8oz container. This line is pretty accessible but you can be sure to locate it at Target, Walgreens, and CVS. They do have their own main website if you would like to purchase from them directly.
This product is marketed for all texture types although if you have fine hair that is often weighed down by product you may want to steer clear. I have more of a medium coarseness and even I have to be mindful of product usage since I have a tendency to develop product build up. Exfoliating/clarifying shampoo would come in handy for this.
For highlighted ingredients they mention:
blueberry extract
coconut oil
grape-seed oil
mango butter
Overall it has pretty simple formulation. It also smells delightful.
Curls claims to repair damaged hair, encourage hair growth, and prevent breakage. I do feel like my hair has benefited from this product. I did my big chop back in 2016 and this was the first leave product I used to support my hair needs. It was in my number one slot but I decided that I like the leave in by Pattern more. This is a good backup/number two product for me though!
I do think if you hair is more coarse that this would be a good option.

Natural hair chronicles.👩🏽🦱
Based off research & experience I’d say my hair is either high porosity or a mixture of ALL; medium, low & high. Knowing your hair porosity is far more important than the texture(s), when it comes to the health & hair integrity. However, I have multiple textures when its wet. Therefore, I still don’t know exactly how to cater to my whole head just yet & I’ve been natural for years.
Protein overload 🚫
Ahhh, I realized recently that almost every product i’ve used had some type of protein in it.😳 My hair is very strong but doesn’t retain moisture like it used to. Consequently, I have to change my entire routine to products that don’t contain any protein or coconut oil.
❗️Knowing the difference between oils that can penetrate & provide strength vs oils that can penetrate & retain moisture is vital❗️
⚠️Current Routine:
Shampoo: SheaMoisture - Raw Shea Butter Moisture Retention Shampoo. I’ll be alternating withKinky-Curly - Come Clean, Natural Moisturizing Shampoofor clarifying.
Conditioner: #Aussie - Miracle Coils[products]#[FiveStars] for detangling.
Deep Conditioner: AS I AM - Jbco Moisturizing Masque
~ Styling: (not in order) 💆🏽♀️
SheaMoisture - Raw Shea Butter Extra-Moisture Detangler
Kinky-Curly - Knot Today, Natural Leave In / Detangler
MIELLE - Pomegranate & Honey Leave-In Conditioner
#Camille Rose Naturals - Camille Rose Naturals Aloe Whipped Butter Gel[products]#[FiveStars]
AS I AM - JBCO Leave-in Conditioner
Curls - Brule Whipped Curl Cream
Kurlee Belle - Thirsty Kurls Leave In Conditioner[products]#[FiveStars]
DIY hair butter for sealing.
~ Ingredients: Shea, 🥭 Mango butter, Cupuacu butter, & Tucuma butter w added oils. (still experimenting)
❗️🗣I know my hair care needs some tweaking, if anybody could recommend any products that don’t contain anything that’ll contribute to my problem, or if anybody has dealt with a protein overload with Afro hair feel free to tell me your tips, experiences & how you overcame❗️🗣

Achieve Overnight Waves
As someone who naturally has wavy/curly hair, my hair has a mind of it’s own most of the time. Giving my hair directions on how to dry is almost futile. That is why I like to style it over night to have a more uniform wave pattern that is not only cute but also more manageable. It also helps me tame my frizz and keeps the heat damage to a minimum.
I like using a mixture of curl cream and mousse. The curl cream is more so to keep my hair feeling moisturized and protected. The mousse is to help keep the style to last longer and give it holding power. My hair is normally already detangled from my shower, so the first thing I do is squeeze out any excess water with a t-shirt and apply my curl cream. I love using the Curls Creme Brule Whipped Curl Cream for this step because it has so many amazing ingredients that help nourish my hair. I let my hair air dry for a while before attempting the next step. This is because if I go in to style while it is very wet, I will wake up to hair that is still damp. I then go in with my favorite Herbal Essences Totally Twisted Curl-Boosting Mousse. It has great hold without the lasting crunchy feeling other mousses have. After all of my products have been evenly distributed, I like doing two French braids, one on each side of my head. Sometimes if I want extra dimension I will do three braids, one in the center and two on the sides. After the braids are done, I like doing an extra squeeze out of the product and water with my t-shirt and its ready to go!
I like going to sleep with my braids in. When I wake up, I delicately open up the braids and separate the waves. If my hair has a cast from the mousse, I like to scrunch it out so the wave can loosen and fall more naturally. Now I have ready to go hair that I don’t have to worry about! This style usually lasts me a couple of days, especially if it is re-braided over night. Happy braiding!

4C Hair Passion Fruit Curl Control Paste Review!
Waddup homies!!
As always I’m trying to find the best way to define my kinky, coily, 4C hair.
I had always seen this product brand but I was reluctant to try it out because of the small amount for the price, 4oz for around 13.00 dollars
That’s not a lot of money but I would just rather spend that on something that I know will work.
I had my doubts but I have to say I really like it. Curls - Passion Fruit Curl Control Paste smells amazing and it provided my hair with a nice amount or hold.
Fa$t Facts
This truly is a paste. It is kind of sticky and very thick and waxy. Because my hair is so short already it is hard to know if it is truly weighing my hair down or not.
Doesn’t dry crispy! We hate a well defined curl that is super crispy. I understand from using multiple curling products that a crispy result is sometimes what happens but we didn’t have that here while still having some nice definition.
Contains no sulfates, silicones, parabens, artificial oils, or fragrances.
This product managed to give me nice definition while smelling amazing and not drying my hair out.
The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because this seems like the kind of curling product where I will need to completely wash my hair if I want to do anything else with it.
Some curl definers can be “loosened” up I guess? If that makes sense? But nah, this is definitely going to be a heavy rinse light wash type of deal. I’ll probably use my SheaMoisture - Power Greens Hair Tea Rinse with Moringa & Avocado .
What’s your fave curl defining product?

My curly hair products
I have naturally curly hair and it was very hard to find products that fit the needs of my hair. I found these two products. The crème brûle whipped curl cream is a product that I have never seen someone use before, but I love it. It keeps my hair from getting frizzy and gives my hair the moisture it needs. It has organic sweet almond milk shea butter and aloe leaf juice. The cantu shea butter spray is what keeps my hair smooth and holds the shape of my curls perfectly. I like to spray it into my hands, warm it up and comb it through my hair with my fingers. I then scrunch my hair with my hands. This spray contains no sulfates, no silicones, no parabens or mineral oil. If you have naturally curly hair, then theses products are a must.

Blueberry Jelly for Space Buns 👽💙
I used this Blueberry curl control jelly by Curls to achieve this look. I like how it is thick and has good hold without becoming hard once dry. I used it to wrangle my hair into two ponytails and wrap it into buns. I know people also use this product for curl definition or wash and go, but I like to use it for styling.
I didn’t have to use a lot for it to work. This may not be strong enough for edge control or laying baby hairs. I used a separate, stronger gel for that.
