Current PM Routine: Normal Skin
Note: The micellar water I use to remove my waterproof mascara is not pictured (I use the waterproof Marcelle micellar water) I’ve done previous reviews for each product so I won’t go into too much detail. 1). Remove my mascara with the previously mentioned micellar water 2). Cleanse my face with the Allies of Skin - MOLECULAR SILK AMINO HYDRATING CLEANSER With this cleanser it’s best to apply to dry skin and massage around face and neck. I then follow by apply a small amount of water to lather the cleanser before ringing with lukewarm water. 3). The perfect, gentle-yet-effective toner: PESTLE & MORTAR - Exfoliate Glycolic Acid Toner 180ml It not only ensures a day’s dirt, grime, and makeup are completely removed from the skin, but I find it has made my complexion so much more balanced in terms of oiliness in my pore area (it’s non-existent at this point). 4). I always, aways use NIOD - Superoxide Dismutase Saccharide Mist Antioxidants in skincare are so important. It’s great at helping with water loss, oxidative stress, and inflammation. It’s so refreshing to apply to freshly cleansed skin. 5). I don’t let the mist dry onto my skin. I’ll leave it sitting for a few minutes and while my face is still slightly damp I apply PESTLE & MORTAR - Pure Hyaluronic Serum This hyaluronic serum is so hydrating and feels lovely on the skin. It’s perfect for locking in that moisture from the face mist. 6). GRAYDON - Fullmoon Serum A plant-based retinol alternative. My holy grail. My skin has never looked better since using this consistently. My skin is smooth and overall looks healthy. 7). The BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Marine Algae Eye Cream is my favourite eye cream and has been my go-to for months. It’s super hydrating and doesn’t make my concealer crease :) 8). The YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Air-Whip Moisture Cream is SO nice! It’s a light-weight gel cream. It has a lovely fresh scent that’s not overpowering. It’s quite hydrating as well. When I use these products my skin feels hydrated, smooth, and overall healthy :)

PM Routine for Normal Skin
I always maintain a similar nighttime routine but find I like changing through products, such as a different AHA toner, a different face cream, a different eye cream, or a different face wash. However, the foundation of it remains the same: cleanse, tone, hydrate. I usually go for a more hydrating routine for both the AM and PM. Tonight I used products that I love and that I know suit my skin type: (mostly) normal. 1). I started with the MARCELLE - Micellar Water (light blue bottle for waterproof makeup) to remove my waterproof mascara. I have yet to find a better micellar water. It’s so effective yet so gentle. If you can suggest one that does a great job with waterproof mascara please let me know :) 2). I cleansed my face with the Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Hydrating Cleansing Gel It’s soap free me doesn’t dry out my skin and makes me feel so clean and refreshed. 3). My new favourite toner: it’s so gentle yet so effective at removing excess dirt, makeup, balancing my skin’s pH, etc. PESTLE & MORTAR - Exfoliate Glycolic Acid Toner 180ml 4). I always add in hydration when I can and this product is perfect for that (and pre-serums!) NIOD - Superoxide Dismutase Saccharide Mist Think toner/meets essence/meets serums/meets bye bye oxidative stress and hello hydration! Lol. I feel it boosts the effectiveness of my skincare products. 5). I keep my face damp from the SDSM mist and then apply my PESTLE & MORTAR - Pure Hyaluronic Serum This is sooooo beautiful and hydrating. I love it beyond words! Haha. 6). I then applyBIOSSANCE - Squalane + Marine Algae Eye Cream I’m obsessed with this eye cream. It’s so hydrating but light. It doesn’t make my under-eyes feel greasy. It’s my go-to for the day and to wear under makeup. 7). Last but not least, I love a super hydrating face cream for the night. This one is hydrating but not heavy or greasy, which is perfect for me YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream with Ashwagandha + Reishi ❤️🤍

My Current Favourite Serums
I don’t have one single favourite type of serum; I love using different types to target the concerns I may have. Below are my favourite non-exfoliating serums; my every day serums. My go-tos are hydrating, brightening, anti-aging/restorative. Disclaimer: my skin type is normal. PESTLE & MORTAR - Pure Hyaluronic Serum This is my favourite hydrating serum. It looks and feels so luxurious. I think it does a great job at adding that extra moisture to my skin. I’ll use this after a mist while my skin is still damp and then gentle rub and pat it in, then follow it with my moisturizer. I’ll use this in the AM & PM. GRAYDON - Fullmoon Serum If I could only ever use one serum for the rest of my life, this would be it. It has everything I love: anti-ageing effects, brightening, anti-pollution, hydrating, etc. This is a plant-based retinol alternative but it’s super gentle and just beautiful. I apply this after a face mist, other serums, and before my moisturizer. I use this in the PM. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I just did a small review on this product. I use this as a spot treatment more than anything. I’ll typically apply it whenever I happen to notice a spot haha. I’ll apply it as my first serum, directly onto said spot, then follow with other serums and moisturizer. VERSED - STROKE OF BRILLIANCE Brightening Serum I love vitamin C. It’s so hard to choose a favourite but I’m reaching more for this currently. I love how brightening this serum is. I’ll use this in the AM before moisturizer. The Ordinary - Retinol 0.2% in Squalane The most gentle retinol! This feels more like an oil but I consider it a serum because it’s targeting a specific concerns (still hydrating though). I apply this in the PM after serums and after moisturizer. I think the key to picking out a serum is to think of what concerns you have and what you want to target. Expensive doesn’t always mean better and above I have a mixture of both. For instance the Graydon serum is $87 CAD, whereas The Ordinary retinol serum is only like $7 CAD. Buy what you can afford!

Luxe Hyaluronic Acid Serum
One of my favourite skincare products is hyaluronic acid. I’ve been trying to find the perfect one and this is it! This is by Pestle & Mortar who are out of Ireland. While I love a good Canadian product, this company is amazing, too. PESTLE & MORTAR - Pure Hyaluronic Serum This is a multi-molecular weight hyaluronic formulation. It’s light-weight & fragrance-free. It also contains panthenol —aka pro vitamin B 5— which is a humectant used in skincare because it attracts and holds moisture. Pros: + Hydrating + Claims to reduce fine lines & wrinkles + Restores dehydrated skin + Plumps skin + Fragrance-free + Suitable for all skin types Why I love it: While it’s similar in consistency to The Ordinary’s hyaluronic acid serum, I find its less tacky on the skin. I apply this serum by massaging it into my dampened skin and notice no pilling afterwards. It makes my skin feel smooth and hydrated and plump! It gives me a healthy, dewy, hydrated glow. For 15 mL it costs $33/ for 30 mL is $59. Cons: + It’s pricey to ship if you live outside of the UK. To ship to Canada it cost $20. + Duty: the bane on my existence. It cost me another $31 to receive my package. In total this was a very expensive purchase. If you live in the UK or you don’t mind absurd shipping rates and duty, I definitely recommend haha.

Hydrating serums battle  ⠀ ✅ jkosmmune uses 3rd generation beta glucan from mushrooms. Beta glucan provides more moisturization in comparison with hyaluronic acid. It significantly decreases skin redness, it is an immune booster and has antioxidant activity. ✅ pestleandmortar Pure Hyaluronic Serum combines multi-molecular weight hyaluronic acid with skin-softening panthenol in a formulation which diminishes fine lines & wrinkles, provides superior hydration and delivers an instant skin-plumping and firming effect. ✅ jordansamuel Hydrate serum contains hyaluronic acid, stabilized vitamin C and hexapeptides combine with cucumber, tamarind and passion flower extracts to give you healthy, dewy skin all day long. ⠀ My thoughts: I use hydrating lightweight serums just to mix with oil serums for better absorption and increasing hydration level. But for comparison purposes I used all of these alone on misted skin. 💭 All three serums are very hydrating 💭They are all have no sticky finish 💭 They do plump up the skin 💭 Serums dry fast, aren't tacky and don't cause pilling either. 💭 JK calms down a bit better then HA serums, so for those with sensitized/itchy skin it could help. ⠀ I used up 3-4 30ml bottles of P&M serum, 3 30ml bottles of JSS serum and almost finished JK serum. ⠀ Overall: I found all these serums are best in category of hydration serums imho. So for those my friends who cannot buy JSS, you can buy from JK or P&M, as they provide international shipping services.⠀

Hyaluronic Acid: One Empty one Newbie
Empty: PESTLE & MORTAR - Pure Hyaluronic Serum 30ml I really love this hyaluronic acid, it is thin and sinks in quickly without being sticky. It really provides a good base hydration layer, especially when layered with other heavier products. It has vey luxe packaging, which is to be expected with the price tag. Newbie: JORDAN SAMUEL skin - Hydrate Facial Serum I love this HA as well, it is a huge bottle and is also very hydrating. The only hating I do not like about it is the scent, it has a sort of chemically scent, which is slightly off-putting. I also really enjoy that this one has a pump and not a dropper, because I feel like the dropper tends to waste a lot of product. Ultimately, I like them both equally in terms of efficacy, but the Jordan Samuel one is so much more affordable (both these sizes are about the same price) that it will definitely be the one I would repurchase between the two. But if you have the money to splurge, I would definitely go for the Pestle and Mortar one.

Worth it? Good Molecules vs. Pestle & Mortar
For the price of one Pestle and Mortar HA, you could buy almost 10 of the Good Molecules HA? But is it worth it? Read on to find out. GOOD MOLECULES - Hyaluronic Acid Serum This is an excellent Hyaluronic acid serum. There is no stickiness, it blends into the skin extremely well, doesn’t pill when other products are applied on top (skincare or makeup), and has one of the best droppers I have ever used — hands down. It isn’t very watery, as is typical of many cheaper HA serums out there. It is fragrance free, vegan, cruelty free, and had a ph of 5.59. The best part about it? This serum is only $6 for a full ounce of product. This is a huge win for me! I highly recommend this serum and give it a 5/5 stars! PESTLE & MORTAR - Pure Hyaluronic Serum 30ml This is also an excellent HA serum. Similar to the GM serum, this is non-sticky, plays well with other products, is fragrance free, and super hydrating. The only real difference I see in terms of claims, is that this one says it has a multi molecular form of Hyaluronic acid that can penetrate various layers of the dermis to provide deep hydration. I think this is also a very good option and give it a rating of 5/5 stars! THE VERDICT I think both of these serums are amazing. They were both gifted to me, but my opinions remain truthful. Being that I’ve used both and realistically find that they both give me similar results, I would definitely purchase the GM over the PM serum, just because of the massive price difference. I highly recommend both and would suggest buying whichever fits into your budget!

It’s been really great weather
It’s been really great weather, so I’ve been using this oil control Mattifying mist by volitionbeauty . I’ve tried the eye gel from them & I loved it, but when it arrived, the lid had snapped off, so it dried out really quickly. I’m really keen to explore volitionbeauty more! . This pestle&mortar serum is incredible. I’ve been testing it against another Hyaluronic serum & im enjoying this one much more. . Obsessed with the kevyn aucoin eyebrow pencil but it’s almost done. I love it. I used to love The brow pencil by Benefit, but this ones application is so gorgeous & natural. Need to pick one up soon! . I love natasha denona palettes. I haven’t had much time for makeup these am’s, so I’m just using my fingers & using the highlight colour in a few key spots on my face & that has been enough. I love this palette for camel colour perfection though!

Hyaluronic Acid Serum
GOOD MOLECULES-Hyaluronic Acid Serum
Hello beauties! I’m posting my
Hello beauties! I’m posting my review on Pestle & Mortar Exfoliate toner. I think I’ve been using this for just over 4 weeks now every night, so I feel like my skin has definitely seen some noteworthy improvements since I’ve introduced it into my routine. . The only other acid toner that I’ve used has been Ren Ready Steady Glow, which I really enjoyed. . No need to talk about the packaging because, it’s perfect. No scent to it, which is nice. It’s a Glycolic Acid toner that I put on a cotton pad right after cleansing. I get a bit of a tingle, which I love, but I’ve never had any sort of bad reaction to it. That said, my skin is so desensitised & I use this toner even on nights that I’m using other Acids. . It’s so hydrating & I feel perfect for my skin, which is combo & im 41. So I’m all about the anti aging properties! The improvements I’ve def seen is a reduction is oil on my t-zone. The evenness & brightness of my skin has improved SO much. My pores have shrunk! I’m actually going to say this, but I’m almost 100% sure that this, plus another product that I’m not going to name just yet, as I haven’t reviewed it has led to me stopping wearing foundation. . Always , always use extra care & out on more than usual SPF when using any sort of acid.

. Pestle & Mortar: 🖤Hydrate 🖤Balance not pictured because Monday. 🖤Recover . I’ve heard lots of good things about Recover, & I am a tough customer when it comes to eye creams. I expect a lot from them & have been disappointed by many. Recover didn’t let me down! It is a lovely, nourishing, smoothing Eye cream that worked hard for me. Now, I only used this am’s, as I use an eye cream balm for nights. But it really held up & kept my lines at bay. Pairs wonderfully with my concealer, & left me pretty amazed with its results. I’m 41 & my wrinkles under my eye aren’t a “concern”, but they def can look so much more pronounced when testing not an up to par eye cream. Hydrate is a triple peptide lightweight day moisturiser. No frills, an almost there citrusy scent that makes me think I may be going crazy for smelling anything at all, let’s me layer all the serums I want underneath & is perfect for my combo skin. Balance fine misting spritz didn’t wow me, to be honest, but not many toners do. What I love the most about Pestle & Mortar is there no frills, no nonsense, no gimmicky approach to skincare. What you see is what you get. I adore the minimalist, well built packaging. Plus the customer service is SO good that it really makes me adore the brand that much more.
