Here's my favorite makeup geek marlena stell palette! Actually it's an adept palette and the eyeshadows are MUG. MUG eyeshadows, the mattes in particular, are my favorite formula. This is the palette that lives on my vanity and that I use on a day to day basis when I'm not testing something else. It's also my favorite magnetic palette, the Adept Palette. It holds 106-112 pans (MUG are slightly larger than most).
I don't like those really huge magnetic palettes because I have a hard time trying to find what I'm looking for as I'm doing my makeup and because they take up a ton of space. Since the Adept palette has 2 compartments, it's easier for me to know where everything is and it folds up to be fairly compact. Plus it's very sturdy. It comes in black, blue and purple. I have one black and one blue but I still need to get a purple. It's definitely on my wish list!
Makeup Geek Blushes are very underrated imo. They have a smooth, creamy texture and buildable pigmentation. Which I prefer for blushes. I hate when they're so pigmented that you're in danger of looking like a clown if you're too heavy handed. I use all of these as eyeshadows as well. My favorites are Cherish, Romance, Love Letter and Soulmate!

A little departure from my regular skincare posts, but my first love in beauty was definitely makeup. I don’t wear too much eyeshadow nowadays, but when I do I always gravitate toward this palette I made using Makeup Geek shadows. Makeup Geek was all the rage like 8 or so years ago and I still find the formula to be superb. I have a few morphe and Mac eyeshadows thrown in there, but I find that the makeup geek variety do not go bad nearly as fast as the Mac ones! They have a few varieties of shadows, the signature shadows ($5.99), foiled shadows ($9.99) and duochrome eyeshadows ($5.99) — all of which are featured in this palette. I find the price to be incredibly fair especially because these eyeshadows have lasted me for so so long without compromising on quality, nor do I feel like any of them have gone sour (I try to go through my collection semi regularly to clear out things that may not be safe to use anymore). I have probably 40 different eyeshadow palettes (yikes, I know) and this custom one I made using a z palette (A brand I no longer purchase from because of the way they’ve treated customers in the past, but continue to use because I already have a few of them). I honestly don’t find that luxury eyeshadows perform much better than these more affordable ones, save for some chalky eyeshadows from the drugstore if I’m going to buy a palette (which I’m likely not going to do because I have so many already) I’m going to look at MakeupGeek first to see if they have the colors I’m looking for. 5/5, very underrated brand for makeup and I love the founder, Marlena Stell, who has been an icon to me since I first started watching beauty youtube 11 years ago!
