Top HAIR PRODUCTS of 2020!!
Hey guys! This is the 3rd post for my Best and Worst of Beauty 2020 series! You guys love these posts, so let’s get right on into my top pick for haircare! Once again my disclaimer that these are my opinions, experiences, and data I’ve found. If your opinion or data differs, that’s okay, this is just for fun. Shampoos and Conditioners: 🧴 🚿 I have two picks for this category, one expensive, one cheap. For expensive I choose function of beauty - Custom shampoo + conditioner , which is my current shampoo. Function of Beauty has you take a hair quiz and choose hair goals, then they formulate a custom product based on your hair needs. It costs $49.99 for one 16 fl oz bottle of conditioner and one 16 fl oz bottle of shampoo. The price drops to $39.99 for a 8 fl oz version. Since the formulation depends on your hair, I’ll just share the link to see what may be in yours. If you go to https://www.functionofbeauty.com/ingredients/ it shows the ingredients added per hair goal. My goals are to hydrate, lengthen, anti-frizz, shine, and soothe my scalp. My hair used to be very dry and frizzy, and it hasn’t been since using Function of Beauty. My hair has grown way fast than it ever has, 6 inches since quarantine began! My scalp is also less itchy. A splurge, but worth it. If that’s too expensive you can get the ogx - Thick & Full + Biotin & Collagen Shampoo and ogx - Thick & Full Biotin & Collagen Conditioner . They’re sold separately for $7.99 each for a 13 fl oz bottle at Ulta. They make your hair very soft, as well as nourished. Scalp Scrub: 👩🧼 My pick is definitely theOUAI - Scalp & Body Scrub . It has fine sugar crystals that remove dandruff buildup, or dead skin cells on your skin. This one is pricey, at $38.00 for a 8.8 fl oz tub at Sephora. It has been on Allure’s Best of Haircare list for 3 years straight, and has glycerin and hydrating oils. Hair treatments: ✨🧴 The davines - All In One Milk Lotion is technically a men’s product, but I (a female) LOVE it! You can get a 4.56 fl oz spray bottle for $35.00 on Amazon. It makes your hair shiney, smooth, and detangles it. My only complaint is it has a very strong scent. My second pick is the Maui MOISTURE - Lightweight Hydration + Hibiscus Water Quenching Detangler . It’s much more affordable at $8.99 for a 4.2 fl oz bottle. This is a basic shine inducing detangler that works great with a comb. Hair Mousse: 🛁🧴 The LAYRITE - Natural Matte Cream is another man oriented product that’s great for everyone. For men, it’s mostly used to wax/gel their hair into place. I like it for crazy hair day or Halloween, but for people with a lot of baby hairs or pixie cuts, this is a must. Those are my picks! Thanks for reading this post! Cheer this post so more people can learn about these amazing products, and follow me to see the rest of the series! -Mae

OI OIL
Davines OI oil is magical. I have been using it for years both on myself and on my hair clients and I’m still obsessed. I use it on my own hair to fight frizz which can be difficult because I live in a very humid climate and also because I have bleached my hair many, many times over the years. This is the only product that has truly helped me control my frizz. I think people get scared to use products that are oil based but this is one everyone can use and it can help with many different hair concerns! A little more about Oi Oil… 1. It has a very strong perfume smell which I happen to LOVE but I do feel like it’s a scent people either love or hate so I would start with a small size before you commit to the big guy. 2. Besides fighting frizz, it also detangles, adds shine and softens hair. I find that it also cuts down on blow dry time and offers some heat protection. 3. You can use it in wet or dry hair. I do both a little in wet hair and then a little in dry hair as final touch to smooth down any flyways. 4. All hair types can use this oil. It’s not heavy. I would be careful not to put it right on your roots but besides that anyone can use it! It works AMAZING on very coarse hair or very dry hair. 5. Contains Roucou oil which has beta-carotene and antioxidants which helps to protect the hair and keep it soft and silky! davines - Oi Oil

Best Concentrate Oil for Mid width hair
I have seen many people sharing their thoughts about very thick hairs and fine hairs, but there are not as many for the mediocre. So, I am going to share a little bit about my medium width hair. My hair is average in many aspects – neither too thick nor too thin, not very oily, or too dry. However, there are average problems too to my hair. It does not get as kinking as fine hairs for the most time, but there are always small knots in the middle of somewhere and it looks dull very easily even though I have used lots of products to make it healthier. The problem is, in this case, that is not the healthiness of my hair that I need to worry so much but the texture of it. With the product I have been using and the damages I have tried my best to avoid, my hair is definitely very healthy and strong among all medium width hairs. But I cannot ignore the fact that they are not as manageable as thick hairs of the same strength. After messing around with many products, I find out that using some concentrate oil improves the shine and smooth appearance of my hair very visibly. There are many of them you can find at stores and online, some can get very expensive. I would like to share a middle end concentrate oil that I think is worth its price yet still affordable for frequent use. Davines is an Italian brand specialized in hair care. Among its various products, I found its concentrate oil – Oi Oil – satisfactory. It is only 169 fl. Oz., very small bottle, made of a mixture of botanical oils. It is totally organic, so as it smells, herbal scent with an accent of roses. And its texture is just like what you expect from oil. With only a 5-6 drops for middle length hair, it spreads throughout my hair very evenly and gets to the end of every piece of hair. I would recommend using it either before bed to give it some restoration, or before blow drying as leave-in oil, to easily get rid of the roughness and dullness that you might get after drying.

Achieve the Beachy Waves of Your Dreams🌊
For anyone who has grown out a pixie, you know there is that dreaded awkward stage. I know from experience that it would honestly feel better to give up on the grow-out than spend one more day trying to construct a style out of that mess of a mop. Don't fret; There is still hope yet, my lovelies. This relaxed wavy look is easy to recreate on even the hardest of days. Here's how to! Starting on damp hair, take your thermal protectant, I like to use KÉRASTASE - Discipline Blow-Dry Smoothing Primer it is just about the most amazing product for frizz control and heat protection. Apply Keratine Thermique evenly throughout hair. Establish deep side part and blow-dry using a small round brush, working all of the hair away from your hair line. Using a mini straightener (full size is fine, but on super short hair, it is easier to use a mini) take horizontal sections starting at the occipital bone (about two inches from the top of the back of your head) working your way forward to your hairline. In each section, twist your straightener downward as it glides through your hair. The result should look like a tightly spiraled curl (like Shirley Temple) don't worry, this is only the process, not the outcome! Do not touch the curls while they are hot or they will lose their shape, and it will be a mess to try to fix 😂 *Side note: when you get to the last section, which should be at your front hairline, be sure to direct the curl away from your face. Once you are finished curling, let the curls cool for a few minutes or until they are cool to the touch. Now is the fun part! Take your davines - This is a Sea Salt Spray and spritz the curls with it (don't soak them, just a light misting is fine). Run your fingers through your hair to break up the curls and begin molding your hair to your desired look. I brush my hair away from my face and give the roots a little shake to help will volume and separation. Don't be afraid to really get in there and play around with your hair. If you have a hard time with volume or you want to add some extra pieceyness and texture, then use ORIBE - Dry Texturizing Spray at the roots and give your hair/roots a shake. Remember, the goal is to achieve a natural wavy look. Your hair more than likely won't look like my hair in the photo. That's okay. It's not supposed to look like mine; it's supposed to look like yours! Play around with it and see what products as techniques your hair likes the most. Have fun with it!! ❤️

The Feminine Shag
Who says you can't rock a Bieber cut and still look fabulous! One of the many times I have grown out my hair, I had this brilliant idea to shave my head and then let my hair grow without any haircuts or modifications. Talk about au natural! To my surprise, it grew out beautifully! (for the most part 😆). This shag was a result of my natural hair growth process, and to this day, it has been one of my favorite styles. The layers are perfectly piecey, which helps give some volume and texture. The shape grew very rounded, complementing, and flawlessly framing my oval face and creating some length over my ears. This is the perfect cut for someone who loves to do something different with their hair every day because it is so versatile. You can style it straight with it tucked behind your ears to pull off a sleek, clean look or go the shag route with some major texture. Plus, shags are all the rage right now. So whether you have a short pixie shag or a long-locked shag, you are going to be styling! How did I style this look? Simple! The Fem Shag- As pictured, this is an effortless styling choice. All I did was wash and then blow-dry, pointing my dryer at the crown to encourage its natural growth pattern. If your hair doesn't want to go forward, don't force it. Also, you can use a small round brush to make it a little more styled and less frizzy. After it is 100% dry, spritz with any brand of Sea Salt spray, shake your shag out, and be on your way! I Used: davines - This is a Sea Salt Spray

High end VS Drugstore 🙇🏼‍♀️🙇🏼‍♂️
For me, the most important thing about buying a hair care product is cost performance! Because many products have high premiums, exquisite high-end packaging accounts for half of the cost. So every time I use a high-priced product with high expectations, I am often disappointed. And if you are just focus on the ingredients in the back list, not of much use. For me, the best way to evaluate is only for my own use. So when I buy product A, I alwaysl ask sales to provide me a sample of product B. There are some gaps in the price of the products I want to compare today. OI is defined as a high-end hair care product from DAVINES brand, and AUSSIE is a product that can be purchased by Walmart. However, I want to tell everyone that AUSSIE is really no worse than OI product. Package Design: Aussie is a squeezable bottle, which is more convenient to use. When not in use, the high-density silica gel in the squeeze port can seal the jar tightly. OI is a round can, and you need to grab it f each time. So I often make more. From this point of view, I prefer AUSSIE. Texture: AUSSIE is a translucent light yellow emulsion texture, which looks more moisturized. OI is a pure white texture with higher density and looks more astringent. This is related to his silicone-free formula. PRICE: Aussie is $14 for 250ml; and OI values $40 for the same size; they have a three times price difference! So dupe! For these two products, I prefer AUSSIE. Because I can truly feel that my hair become hydrated. Its texture makes me feel very comfortable. OI does not have any particularly big disadvantages, you can feel the hair becomes fluffy and it is not easy to produce oil. But for the same effect, who would be willing to choose a more expensive one? davines - OI Conditioner aussie - 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor Hair Conditioner

Keep your new hair shade for longer👩🏻‍🎤
🤩ABOUT ME: SOFT AND THIN HAIR. DAMAGED DUE TO DYE. MEDIUM BROWN SHADE. I hardly dye my hair before, so my hair always in a shining condition. However, I blenched my hair a few months ago. It did damage my hair. I can feel my hair become dry. Fortunately, every time when I friend see my hair, they still think they are shining and my new hair shade is attractive. It must be related to my hair products! I have introduced Aussie hair mask before. This post is about my new hair product, OI conditioner, which has been used for over two weeks. I disliked this product when I first tried this. I did not know how to control the dosage from the circular container. And the texture is very dry. Moisturizing is not as well as Aussie. However! After cleaning my hair, they are really soft and hydrating. I wash my hair every two days. This product does not contain any benzoyl preservatives, so it is ideal for frequent daily use. Both Aussie and OI are effective in protecting damaged hair. But I prefer Aussie because it's more cost-effective. Every time you buy it, you can get a free travel suit : ) davines - OI Conditioner

Save my dry and damaged hair🔥🔥
PRICE: $34 for 180ml I am super fans of Davines and have introduced many of products from this brand in my previous posts, including OI product line’s OI conditioner,Naturaltech product line’s calming shampoo, and mediterranean product line’s MOMO shampoo and NOUNOU hair mask. For today, OI shampoo is my focused product. When matching with OI conditioner, the effect is quite satisfying. 👍🏻Advantages: 1. Ingredients are relatively safe, without sulfate/SLS that is a harmful chemical foaming agent. All hair type can use this. DAVINES is an environmentally friendly brand, so even the packaging is made of degradable plastic. 2. The OI series is specially designed for bleaching and dyeing damaged hair. After washing them off, you scalp is very clean and the hair is soft and smooth. 3 Bubbles are abundant! I love IT! 👎🏻Disadvantages: 1. I don’t like the smell. The fragrance is so strong sweet that it smells like I already have cavities. 2. Price is relatively high. This shampoo can promote the hair texture into smooth and soft, but not for hydrated condition. So I recommend your guys to mix with OI conditioner. The combination of these can create a surprising effect that your hair is fluffy but not dry! OI conditioner is more close to mask, leaving your hair on 3 to 5 minutes is perfect! davines - Oi Shampoo

My advice for bleached + colored hair!
I am no stranger to putting my hair through the ringer. I’ve literally done it all to my hair... and I mean shaved it, bleached it, rainbow.. EVERYTHING. One thing I was always stopped and asked was how I kept my hair so soft and healthy with all the bleach and processing. My best tips are pretty manageable, but also a big investment in your hair! >> Bleaching your hair << Go to a professional. Don’t fry your hair off please. It’s really not as simple as just applying bleach to your hair and BAM it’s lighter. NOPE. That’s not how it works. Everyone’s hair lifts different and has its own kind of undertone it will lift to. Some of us can go to platinum pretty quickly, but I could not. It was always an ALL day process for me. Be patient and don’t push your hair too far. It grows back, but do you really want to have to deal with bleach damaged hair? >> hair color! How to maintain it! << Color fades and it either looks cool or you need to get that touch up ASAP. wash your hair less frequently. Skip a few days and use dry shampoo. IGK - First Class Charcoal Detox Dry Shampoo use a color depositing shampoo/ conditioner! My favorite to use is Overtone. I have used the bright colors and the natural brown color from the brand. *WEAR GLOVES WHEN USING! Thank me later lol* OVERTONE - Magenta Coloring Conditioner OVERTONE - Coloring Conditioner try a gloss! It will add shine and color the outside of your hair strands. This will cover up greys as well. #dpHUE - Gloss+ Black[products]#[FiveStars] >> KEEPING YOUR HAIR HEALTHY!!<< It’s really all in the products you use and what heat you put on your hair. Invest in GOOD shampoo. My best recs: davines - Oi Shampoo This shampoo is great for ALL hair types. Adds shine, volume, nourishes and smooths hair. I religiously used this shampoo and conditioner. davines - Nourishing Vegetarian Miracle Conditioner SAVES MY HAIR EVERYTIME! this is an ultra repairing conditioner. It strengthens the hair and adds shine and softness. Basically gives your hair life again. R+Co - Atlantis Moisturizing Shampoo Super moisturizing shampoo with B5 in it! Instant hydration. This really helped my dry hair. This is especially great if you have a lot of heat damage. STOP WITH THE HEAT! let your hair air dry. Blow dryer can add so much more damage. use a scarf and braid your hair to get waves. Throw curlers in over night. simply limit your weekly heat use on your hair. don’t use the highest setting. Your hair doesn’t need 400 degrees to curl. USE HEAT PROTECTANT! make that hair style last honey! Use that dry shampoo instead of starting fresh the next day. use a spray conditioner! KRISTIN ESS - STYLE REVIVING Dry Conditioner Great for next day styling to add extra protection and hydration.

4 things you need to know about buzz cuts!
1)You still have to shampoo and condition Even though your hair may now be extremely short, it still requires care. As oils and dirt can still accumulate, make sure to wash your hair properly with shampoo and conditioner. Moisturizing formulas are ideal since dryness is visible with such a short style 2)Protect your scalp from the sun! Your vulnerable scalp skin is more exposed than ever to the effects of the sun. Be sure to apply sunscreen regularly and wear a hat to keep that delicate skin protected. 3)Take active measures to avoid dry and flaking scalps Flaky and dry scalps are not fun to have, especially when you have a buzz cut because you can see everything. Make sure that you are drinking plenty of water to keep hydrated. Also, try giving yourself regular scalp massages to stimulate blood flow all over your head. Using a purifying shampoo like davines - Purifyng Shampoo is a great shampoo to use once a week to prevent any dryness. It has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial polyphenols and sugars that help create a healthy scalp. dandelion helps to cleanse and balance without causing irritation. This stuff works miracles 4) You still need styling products Depending on how short or long your buzz cut is, you may choose to either forgo all additional hair styling products or pick out a wax or balm to help style your hair. I recommend R+Co - Control Flexible Paste it’s a light flexible paste that is sure to keep your hair looking put together and prevent any fly aways. To apply, rub a small amount between your palms and distribute through your hair, shaping it into your buzz cut. Buzz cuts are so much fun to have an I hope that my pointers have helped you newbies find your way in your buzz cut journey

99 points combination!🔱🔱🔱
THIN AND SOFT, LOW DENSITY, DANDRUFF. I'm going to recommend a shampoo for dandruff and oily hair today! It is Davines’s purifying shampoo! From the product introduction, brand said this product is suitable for both oily and dry hair. From my experience, I do not recommend dry hair people to use this product. The reason will be told in the following. 👍🏻✨The main function of Davins shampoo is to remove dandruff and relieve itching and clean the scalp. Let's start with advantages. I have used more than half of the bottle since I bought it, and its anti-dandruff function is very powerful. After using it twice, my dandruff never came back. The cleaning ability is also very strong. People who are confused with dandruff problems are worth a try. In addition, its color is ginger yellow and the scent is very fresh, which can make people feel comfortable. This shampoo doesn't have any foam, even if you use a lot of it. 📛🙅🏻The downside is that because this shampoo is so good at cleaning, your hair will be very dry after washing. That's why I don't recommend it to oily hair people. I always use Aussie conditioner after I use purifying shampoo. Leave Aussie conditional on for 3-5 minutes and you will feel your hair rejuvenated and moist. If your guys are curious about the aussie conditional, I have written one article in my past post. You can check it! Anyway! The clean power of davines shampoo with moist ability of aussie conditional, this combination can make the hair care effect reach to 99 points. One attention, if I wash my hair every 3 times a week, I only use one time of this davines shampoo. Because the high-dtrength cleaness is not necessary in every times! davines - Purifyng Shampoo aussie - 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor Hair Conditioner

Say BYEBYE to damaged hair with my routine💁🏼‍♀
Hello everyone! Today I wanted to talk about something extremely important to me... HAIR! More specifically, what customized routine I have in place for my severely damaged, dry, brittle and breaking hair. I’m confident that most blondes can agree that the maintenance of this particular colour can be incredibly damaging. Hopefully my tips can be of use to some of you guys, because as a student hairstylist, helping people achieve the luscious locks they dream of is one of my top priorities! Haircare Routine I wash my hair every two nights using Surface’s Bassu Shampoo & Conditioner. What is Bassu? It’s an oil extracted from the seeds of babassu palm. The benefits it can provide for your hair is deep moisture, which brings back the elasticity of your hair. This is exactly what you need after a high lift chemical service to prevent breakage. The vitamins and fatty acids contained in babassu regenerates the hair. Every week, or whenever I feel like I need it, I wash my hair with Surface’s Purple Shampoo to kick out any unwanted yellow tones to my hair. It is important to give yourself a really good scrub to make sure the purple pigment is on every strand of hair. Leave the shampoo on for a good 5-10 minutes. If your hair is super yellow, consider applying a generous amount of shampoo onto your dry hair and leaving it on for no longer than 15 minutes. Once I get out of the shower, I like to apply a hair moisturizer such as Lush’s R&B Hair Moisturizer to my mids and ends first, then working up to my roots. This product has never failed to make my hair feel super soft and healthy once dry, AND it smells amazing! Another product that I really love is Surface’s Bassu Oil. All you need is a dime sized amount for your whole entire head. This is the same oil that I’ve mentioned at the beginning, so you will receive the same benefits AND it acts as a heat protectant if you wish to style your hair. It leaves your hair looking silky smooth and shiny. Lastly, about every 2 weeks or so (or whenever I feel like my hair needs it), I love to use Davine’s Renaissance Circle Hair Mask in the shower. It contains Babassu (shocker, right?) and yellow clay, which helps to re-compact the hair structure to make it look healthier and stronger! It is very important to leave this mask on for a minimum of 15 minutes or else you will not get the results you’re looking for. I can’t stress enough how much I love this product, guys. My hair literally feels like butter and so strong after using it! And that’s about it! If you guys enjoyed this post, please let me know in the comments below! I have so much more knowledge to share so feel free to ask any questions you have about hair. I’d love to make more posts like these! Thanks for reading. 🌸💕 surface HAIR HEALTH ART - Bassu Hydrating Oil davines - The Renaissance Circle LUSH - R&B Hair Moisturizer

EMPTIES - Davines The Renaissance Circle Mask
I picked this up at a local hair salon/boutique but actually didn’t try it forever because I forgot about it! I finally tried it about a month ago and the instant I put it into my hair I was obsessed. It smells amaaaazing - like earthy but in the best way?! Hard to describe but I know I love it. While it’s not the most hydrating mask I’ve ever used, it definitely added moisture to my hair and my hair felt really soft after using this. This mask was around $12 and I got 4 full uses out of it so I would say it’s a pretty good value! I’d definitely repurchase.

The oil and conditioner togeth
The oil and conditioner together before blow drying make my hair feel so soft and clean without being overly greasy or heavy. I have a Brazilian blow out and this makes my hair look like it came from the salon.

Save your hair!
I always apply some kind of serum/oil to my ends & received this one in an Ipsy bag or Birchbox, I can’t remember which. I have extremely long, frizzy hair that is prone to large knots. I spray this product all over after I wash my hair & it detangles, controls frizz, and provides moisture to my hair!
