Lets Talk Cleansers 🧼🌚🌝
[Maybe I’ll take a nicer picture later, but its 7:00 AM right now] Back in the day of my first dermatologist experience, my dermatologist told me two things that really stuck out to me: - “How can your skin be oily but also feel dry?” 🙃 - “Your cleansers don’t need to be fancy, stick to the basics that work to protect your skin barrier” Of course after hearing her first comment I was skeptical about if I had visited the wrong dermatologist 🙃 Nevertheless, she did recommend two products that I have stuck with through time and seen benefits from for both my acne and my dehydrated (oily) skin. ACNE FREE - Oil Free Acne Cleanser The first product she recommended was the Acne Free Oil-Free Cleanser, which has 2.5% micronized Benzoyl Peroxide. This helps to unclog pores and treat / prevent acne. ✨ This formula also includes ✨ ceramides ✨ which are important for maintaining your skins natural moisture barrier and strength. Overall, this product has helped me in the past and I have recently started using it again in the evenings to keep my acne at bay, in just a few days I have already noticed a difference and I keep asking myself why I strayed away from this cleanser 🌝 How to use? It depends on your skin type, but I have found that this works best for me in the evening, I have dehydrated, oily, acne-prone skin. But, I also don’t use this every night, only when I feel that I need to, because it can be drying if over used. CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin The second product she recommended was a gentle cleanser such as CeraVe or Cetaphil, I don’t remember exactly what led to me choosing this cleanser, but I’m glad that I did. It’s helped to keep my skin hydrated without feeling as though my skin is dry or stripped of moisture ✨ It’s also non-comedogenic, which I know some say is a marketing gimmick, but it matters to me. It hasn’t caused me any breakouts and it leaves my skin feeling comfortable 🌝 This cleanser has: ✨ 3 essential ceramides ✨ hyaluronic acid ✨ no fragrance ✨ glycerin How to use? I use this in the morning, since my skin can be exposed to a harsher environment during the day and I want my skin to feel hydrated. I don’t double cleanse in the morning, because there is no need to and I could risk stripping my skin if I did. —————————————————————————————— Overall thoughts? I do love these cleansers and they are my go to combo for my routine, they help keep my skin hydrated and clean. However, with that being said, I am certainly not opposed to trying new products to see if they work better for me. You never know what’s best for your skin until you try it. 🙌🏻 Have you used these products? What are your thoughts? 🌚🌝

review my (skin care) routine🥰!
hey guysss💞 , this is my skin care routine !! ofc i dont use every one of these products everyday but they are all part of my routine. cleanser : Cetaphil - Daily Facial Cleanser i personally think this cleanser is okay , its gets the job done n cleanses my face without it feeling stripped but at the same time i dont feel super clean after using it but , ofc , if thats what your looking for, it works . also , i dont think it has had a big impact on my acne so keep that in mind . micellar water (idk what else to call this step😅) : GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water with Rose Water i dont use this super often but it is useful when i do need to . i use this after i cleanse my face but still feel like there may be more dirt n oil trapped in my skin n it doesnt tighten my skin at all !! toner : The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution idk about this one yall.. i had such high expectations for this toner but i havent seen any rlly big difference . but it did rlly good at removing dead skin n evening my skin so theres that :) i use this every other night moisturizer(s) : Cetaphil - Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion i dont use this on my face as much as their Cetaphil - Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream just because i personally like a thicker cream to feel rlly moisturized n feel like i actually have enough on. but both are good just depending on the consistency you prefer and you skin type.(ex. if you have oily skin i wouldnt recommend a thick moisturizer like the moisturizing cream) dark spot corrector : POND'S - Facial Moisturizers Clarant B3 - Normal to Dry Skin i use this every other night also just cus i dont want to overdue it since its kinda oily but it works rlly good to get rid of dark spots . im kinda waiting until i get rid of my fungal acne before i use this but whenever i feel like putting it on it works pretty good. chemical exfoliator : The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution idk maybe im just not seeing it but this isnt my HOLYGRAIL like everyone says just yet. it burns bad when i put it on my face n ive had it for about 2 months now . if u have a low pain tolerance , i dont think this would be the best . but i gave it 4 stars because it may have played a part in evening my skin tone but im not 100% positive. mask : FREEMAN - Dead Sea Minerals Facial Anti-Stress Mask this is almost empty n ive had it for about 9 months now , but it hasn’t helped with my acne. i believe it has helped my fungal acne tho a little bit so if you want to try it, its like $3 at drugstores :) spot treatment : ACNE FREE - Terminator 10 i use this ofc when a stubborn pimple wants to pop up. when i put this on my pimples it kinda flattens it but does fully get rid of it for me so theres that. thats my routine ! ty for reading n comment what u think😙

SKIN JOURNEY UPDATE #2 😍😳
so here’s how my skin is looking currently! I am loving how much my skin has improved. I have made small changes in my routine that I think are for the better. I’ve added a sunscreen to my morning routine! CeraVe - AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30 I’ve added a spot treatment at night! ACNE FREE - Terminator 10 I’ve tried the dandruff shampoo for fungal acne and it seems to be working slowly but well! I really have noticed less bumpiness on my forehead. Nizoral - Anti Dandruff Shampoo I’ve also switched to a heavier moisturizer at night since I think nighttime is the perfect time to layer on stronger and heavier products to repair the skin. CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin ^^ I use the one in the tube, I don’t think it’s different but I figured I’d let you know🤷‍♀️ I’ve stared using a gentle face wash in the morning instead of just water for a little bit of a better cleanse. Been loving this too! Very refreshing CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin I’ve started exercising regularly. Every morning. I’m trying to get into doing this because I heard regular healthy habits can Improve the skin (not only the skin though, that’s just one of the benefits!)

OTC Epiduo Dupe Part 1
**Disclaimer: This post is not meant in place of medical advice. It's best to consult a dermatologist about skin concerns when possible. This is another long one, y'all. I've broken it up into two posts to allow adequate explanation, but please, PLEASE, stick around to read part 2. Failure to properly use the products mentioned can result in skin injury!! WHAT IS IT? For those who don't know, Epiduo is a topical acne medication available by prescription only. It's two active ingredients however, are available over the counter. Epiduo consists of a combination of 0.3% adapalene and 2.5% benzoyl peroxide. While you won't find adapalene in that high of a concetraion over the counter, the lower concentration (0.1%) can be just as effective with less irritation. Benzoyl peroxide however, can be found in varying concentrations from 2.5% to 10% with the lower concentrations also being as effective as the higher. HOW DOES IT WORK? For the sake of brevity I'll just give you a brief rundown here. Adapalene adjusts the rate of skin cell turnover to regulate the process. In the case of acne, skin cell turnover is in overdrive. That means new skin cells are being produced while old skin cells are not being discarded properly. These old skin cells, along with sebum and bacteria, clog pores. The regulation of skin cell turnover prevents accumulation of all that gunk thereby keeping pores from being clogged. Adapalene is also renowned for it's anti-aging benefits, but that's another post 😉 Benzoyl peroxide (sometimes abbreviated BPO) penetrates the skin and is metabolized into benzoic acid and oxygen. The oxygen free radicals kill anaerobic bacteria. For a more in-depth look at BPO, see my last post! Together these ingredients prevent clogged pores and limit bacterial growth, addressing two of the main causes of acne. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN TO YOU? It means that your local drug store can supply you with everything you need to get started with an (almost) prescription strength acne treatment. Here are some adapalene products to consider: DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Adapalene Gel .01% Topical Retinoid Acne Treatment CVS Health Adapalene Gel ACNE FREE - Adapalene Gel USP 15G proactiv - Adapalene Gel 0.1% Acne Treatment And here are some BPO products: Neutrogena - On-the-Spot Acne Treatment Neutrogena - Rapid Clear Stubborn Acne Spot Gel ZAPZYT - Acne Treatment Gel LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Duo (+) *Stores like Walmart, Target, and several drug stores have their own brands of BPO spot treatments which are typically comparable to name brands at competitive prices. *Make sure to check the concentration of BPO. In this instance, the lower the better. Stay tuned to find out how to use this hack and to hear about my product picks explained.

Acne Causes and What Makes It Worse!
Everyone deals with some form of acne in their life. Here I've put together a list of things and products to avoid when trying to get rid of acne: What to avoid doing: Using oil based makeup. Oils clog pores and cause buildup of dirt. Cleansing too often. Wash your face two or three times a day, anymore than that and your skin barrier will be damaged. That allows dirt to go into the skin. Using harsh products. Like washing too often, they damage the top layer of your skin. Not removing makeup at night. Always remember to wash your face before bed because the buildup of makeup can cause acne Eating too much dairy. Dairy has fat. Oil clogs pores. It's the same thing over and over again. Products that worsen acne: X OUT - Wash-In Treatment makes the skin burn and worsens acne, unlike its claim ACNE FREE - Sensitive Skin 24 HR Acne Clearing System doesn't get a good clean and leaves the face feeling oily proactiv - Renewing Cleanser makes acne sooo bad by drying out the skin and damaging it in the long run CLINIQUE - Acne Solutions Cleansing Foam is also drying. It's a foaming cleanser, and as it dries it strips off the skin barrier BURT’S BEES - Peach & Willow Bark Deep Pore Scrub has bits of ground up peach pits, which is what the 'exfoliation' is, but they actually cause scars and tears in your skin, which isn't just bad for acne, it's bad for your entire face. Those are my tips on what to avoid when you're having acne toubles. I hope this helped. Thanks for reading and remember to leave a cheer! ❤

Sulfur is a HG ingredient for me!
I don’t see sulfur often in acne products, but when I have, I always love the product. I previously used Rodan and Fields unblemish face wash, which includes sulfur, and absolutely LOVED it. I was looking for a more cost effective way to include this ingredient and came across this mask. Although I don’t use it regularly, anytime I do, I notice immediately results. Excess oil is gone and any active acne is dried out and healing. My goal is start using this more regularly, maybe 2-3x per week to see if a more routine use of this mask improves my skin for the long-haul. :)ACNE FREE - Therapeutic Sulfur Mask

A great face mask for acne!
The Therapeutic Sulfur Mask from AcneFree is a face mask specifically made to fight acne. It’s main ingredient is sulfur, which is used to eliminate bacteria, absorb excess oil, and minimize the appearance of pores. This mask also includes vitamin C, zinc, and copper. This mask has a very interesting texture. It is very similar to a clay mask because it dries just as you would expect a clean mask to dry. However, it is much lighter and thinner than a clay mask. What I like most about this mask is that it dries instantly. When you apply it, it is light gray in color but turns light blue once it has been activated. In order to activate the color change, you have to massage the mask onto your skin while your skin itself is wet. I found this step interesting because masks usually require your skin to be clean but dry. I picked up this mask from Target during a very bad break out on my chin. I found that this mask did indeed help reduce the size of my blemishes and zits within 24 hours. However, my one critique of this mask is that because of the high percentage of sulfur it contains (3.5%), it dried out my skin to the point that my skin became very flaky. However, because this mask works well, dries quickly, and is very easy to apply and remove, I would still recommend it to my friends and family. This mask costs $7.79 for a 1.7 ounce bottle. The size is also perfect to stash in your cosmetics case while traveling. I would rate this acne mask five stars and would definitely repurchase.

A few skincare products that just came in. Now I can start my routine. So far I’m loving how my skin feels after using these products but I can’t wait to see what they do. I’m still waiting on my The Ordinary products to come in though to add to my routine. Also, I will update with how I feel about each product after using them for a longer period of time. Any one use any of these products? How do you feel about them?

Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin
CeraVe-Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin
This stuff works very very wel
This stuff works very very well, i use it as a spot treatment (as directed) during my nightly routine, and overnight my blemishes are visibly less inflamed. I’ve also noticed that with this treatment it only takes about a day or two depending on the size of the zit for it to clear up. One downside thought is that it does make the areas I apply it to most frequently dry bc it’s a retinoid based product, So you need a good moisturizer that works for you after applying. It comes from Walmart for $9.97 and was previously only a solve through a prescription, convenience of being a drug store product with the effects of coming from the pharmacy.ACNE FREE - Adapalene Gel USP 15G

acnefree sensitive skin toner
acnefree sensitive skin toner
So when I was younger, I had pretty terrible acne - and to some degree, I still do, especially when it comes to hormonal acne. I was in Target the other day and I happened to see this, ACNE FREE - Sensitive Skin 24 HR Acne Clearing System on sale in the skincare section. It’s part of a set of cleanser, moisturizer and toner, but I’ll be real with you - the cleanser and moisturizer had such a strong chemical scent that I just threw them out. I’d previously used this set when I was a young teen to help tame my acne, and wanted to see how it would work years later. It’s supposed to target acne-prone yet sensitive skin, and contains ingredients like salicylic acid. I used it for about seven weeks prior to writing this review. The smell isn’t like the cleanser and moisturizer (you really don’t want to know what they were like) but it’s still got that chemical scent that can be very off putting to a lot of people. It has the typical liquid consistency of a toner, as shown. I saw wonderful results just using the toner. My skin felt extra clean after I cleansed, and I could visibly see the dirt it had removed on my cotton round. It was also soothing to the skin and didn’t dry it out because it doesn’t contain alcohol. I also noticed that my skin was clearer when I used this with my regular cleanser then when I didn’t. Overall, the product was very effective and the set could honestly be seen as a dupe for Proactiv. However - there is a bit of temporary redness after use, so if you redden easily, be careful with this product. Overall, I’m pretty satisfied with this product, especially since it’s about $20 for the entire set. If you can get past the scent, the entire set is wonderful for treating acne, but if you’re going to use anything, use this toner.
