Curly Hair Tips 🌀
If you're reading this post you and I probably have something in common, curly hair! You've probably also heard "your hair is so beautiful" all your life and thought about how much you wished it were straight and easier to manage. Well 25 years of curly hair has taught me one thing, most people (yes even hair professionals) don't know much about curly hair and keeping it healthy! Here's a little about my hair journey: I didn't wear my hair down consitently until I was about 23, it was always in buns unless it was straightened I had bleached hair for about 5 years I did a big chop and cut all the blonde off 2 years ago When I chopped off the blonde I made the decision to only work towards healthy hair so how am I doing that? No hair color, I haven't dyed my hair since chopping the blonde and yes I have really wanted too. It's not worth my hairs integrity and I'm too spontaneous - I'd be a new color every month. Sulfate free is the way to go, but you don't have to quit using shampoo. Of course you shouldn't be washing your hair daily, but shampooing and cleansing the scalp is IMPORTANT! I wash maximum twice a week, one of those being a co-wash. All the products I have are sulfate free. Find products that work well together! Mix a small part of your leave-in with your gel, if it pills and separates it will do that on your hair! Don't use them together. Product lines are formulated to work together, start there if your having a hard time. Not all alcohol is bad, if it's on the ingredient list it should be a fatty alcohol. I still try to avoid it if I can! Wrap your curls up in silk or satin at night to reduce frizz and extend your style! No heat. Like ever. I've straightened my hair once in two years and missed my curls! If you do straighten it once in a blue moon, use heat protection and the lowest heat settings you can. Care for your scalp! Use an oil, scrub it in the shower, stimulate your scalp at night. A happy scalp means happy curls! Here's some of my favorite curly hair products: Camille Rose - Lavender Fresh Cleanse Camille Rose - Oud Rich Infusion Moisture Treatment Camille Rose - Rose Cleansing Milk Camille Rose - Lavender Crush Defining Gel Camille Rose - Honey Hydrate Leave-In Hair Conditioner Camille Rose - SOYlicious Curl Enhancing Conditioner MIELLE - Babassu & Mint Deep Conditioner MIELLE - Moisture RX Hawaiian Ginger Moisturizing Styling Gel MIELLE - Moisture RX Hawaiian Ginger Moisturizing Scalp Treatment THE Mane CHOICE - Ancient Egyptian 24 Karat Gold Twisting Gel THE Mane CHOICE - Heavenly Halo Herbal Hair Tonic & Soy Milk Deep Hydration Conditioner THE Mane CHOICE - Heavenly Halo Herbal Hair Tonic & Soy Milk Deep Hydration Pre-Poo THE Mane CHOICE - Prickly Pear Paradise Minty Scalp Purifying Spray

Hydrating my natural 4c hair
All this extra time in quarantine is compelling me to spend more time caring for myself and adding steps to my skin and hair routines I wouldn’t otherwise have or make time for. For me and my natural hair that means reintroducing pre-poos! Pre-pooing is so great for adding that extra moisture and hydration into your hair before the wash day process. Also super helpful in aiding with detangling and minimizing breakage. My hair tends to dry out quickly, especially the ends when my hair is stretched so any added hydration makes a huge difference. I just bought THE Mane CHOICE - Heavenly Halo Herbal Hair Tonic & Soy Milk Deep Hydration Pre-Poo as part of a run on black owned beauty brands I did last week. I have tried their products before and truly enjoyed them but hadn’t in a while so I was happy to revisit! This pre-poo: 💆🏾‍♀️ smells freaking AMAZING 💆🏾‍♀️ melts tangles to help minimize breakage and preserve moisture 💆🏾‍♀️ has umutanga oil, palmarosa oil, yashtimadhu root, yucca root and burdock root oil (never heard of half these things) a blend that supports growth, soothes dry scalp and strengthens hair I can’t get over the smell. This is like the best smelling hair product I’ve ever used! Just used it for the first time and it literally MELTED my super tangled and dry hair. Made it so so easy to finger detangle. I am going to leave it in for about 20 mins then follow up with my TPH BY TARAJI - Hustle & Co Cowash and TPH BY TARAJI - Make It Rain Hydrating Conditioner . Today the leave in conditioner I’ll use is the OUAI - OUAI Leave-In Conditioner which also has an amazing smell and then coconut oil and seal it all with tgin - Butter Cream Daily Moisturizer

Restorative Hair Spray✨
Restorative Hair Spray✨
This is the second product I’ve tried from THE Mane CHOICE - Tropical Moringa Sweet Oil & Honey Endless Moisture Collection and I adore it. This product can turn my hair from dry to moist instantly! It also helped me detangle my hair with my Tressfully Yours - FlexiGlide Hair Brush . It smells lovely and the aroma boosted my mood. It’s supposed to support natural growth and retention and I hope it does.

Detangling Hair Brush✨
Detangling Hair Brush✨
Like most coily and curly queens detangling hair is a tedious task no matter the length of your hair.I stumbled upon this product on Amazon and It has changed my life.Compared to other brushes I’ve used, this brush detangles my hair in as little as twenty minutes and makes the detangling process more comforting. I would use this brush with THE Mane CHOICE - Tropical Moringa Sweet Oil & Honey Endless Moisture Restorative Spray and Aunt Jackie's - Knot on My Watch Instant Detangling Therapy to aid in detangling. It’s also very easy to clean and maintain.

New Hair Favorite!✨
After doing a big chop of my hair almost two years ago I’m still learning the ropes of natural hair and try to experiment and figure out what my hair likes. This is the first product I’ve tried by The Mane Choice and I absolutely love it! It smells heavenly and is creamy. It keeps my coils moisturized and alive for hours.I I can’t wait to try the other products of the THE Mane CHOICE - Tropical Moringa Sweet Oil & Honey Endless Moisture Collection because the THE Mane CHOICE - Tropical Moringa Sweet Oil & Honey Endless Moisture Sealing Cream has me sold to the brand and this collection in less that five uses!
