Natural Deodorant Worth the Switch?
NATIVE - Coconut & Vanilla (Sensitive) There’s a huge following for this deodorant, and while the idea of it was super appealing, I’m not 100% convinced I want t continue using it. I enjoy the scent of the coconut vanilla, as well as the peach, but I don’t think my body likes them. There is a transition period (~ 2 weeks) where your body will likely need time to adjust if you’re using antiperspirant with aluminum, but even after that period I wasn’t a fan. I found the scent would disappear quickly and that, for instance on a hot day, or after working out, it didn’t help control odour. I don’t mind feeling more of the sweat, but as I said, very little odour control and reapplying didn’t mask the smell; you could still smell the sweat and the coconut vanilla scent. It was like trying to mask your house with febreze lol. Even on a regular day it didn’t cut it. I think I may be part of the minority where this didn’t work for me. I’m very disappointed because I love the scents and really wanted it to work. I work long shifts at the hospital and don’t have time to reapply deodorant throughout the day/night, so having to do so with both of these isn’t ideal. Overall, I love the smells and I’m still using these but more so on days off where I’m lounging around. I’m jealous of everyone Native deodorant has worked for haha. Also, the consistency is nice and creamy and applied beautifully. It doesn’t leave any stains on my clothing. I still recommend trying because natural products are honestly the way to go these days and the Native deodorants may work for you.

Why I made the switch to natural deodorant
After hearing there was possible health issues such as breast cancer and Alzheimer’s related to traditional antiperspirants which contain aluminium I started to do some research into whether this was true and the alternatives I could use. While there’s no research to show any link between these diseases I think it’s better safe than sorry and I found number of other reasons to ditch aluminium based antiperspirants and switch to natural deodorant. So here’s the reasons I made the switch: ✨ Aluminium clogs your pores to stop sweat escaping but this can lead to irritation and bumps on your underarms due to blocked pores ✨ Sweating is a natural process, by allowing yourself to sweat but using a natural product to control odour the good bacteria on your body can do their work and maintain a healthy balance on your skin meaning less odour when you’re not wearing deodorant ✨ Most natural deodorants contain some kind of natural moisturiser (Native contains shea butter!) to keep your skin soft and smooth ✨ No fragrances which can be drying and irritating to the skin ✨ Many natural deodorants are more ethical than their traditional counterparts including being vegan and cruelty free or even using more sustainable packaging (Native have recently launched a plastic free packaging option 🙌🏻) ✨ The ingredients in natural deodorants don’t leave marks on clothing like many traditional antiperspirants It may not be the right choice for everybody and can take a couple weeks to adjust once you’ve found the right natural product for you but I feel there’s so many benefits especially if you have sensitive skin which is prone to irritation from fragrances or getting blocked pores. I’ve been using the Native Coconut & Vanilla for over six months now and I’m a total convert. My husband has even made the switch too and loves both the Native Cucumber & Mint and Eucalyptus & Mint. They’re lovely and smooth to apply, not sticky at all, smell great and the scent lasts all day. It’s a more expensive product but I’ve found it lasts much longer so is actually better value for me than a traditional antiperspirant. Win win 🥰 NATIVE - Coconut & Vanilla (Sensitive)

Aluminium-free deodorants that ACTUALLY work!
Antiperspirants use aluminum salts to block your apocrine sweat glands from stimulating underarm sweat. Aluminum free deodorants, as these are focused on blocking odor versus blocking sweat, contain antibacterial ingredients to kill those odor-causing bacteria that live off your sweat. Here’s my three fav aluminum-free deodorants that actually work! These three are all available at drugstores like Target! Megababe Rosy Pits: LOVE LOVE LOVE THE SCENT!!! It can be a little much sometimes, but if you use this I promise you wont need any perfume that day lol. It lasts me about 9 hours wear, and I love the packaging! I like to wear this on my non-active days when I want to smell good (: Native cucumber and mint: Native Is a really safe bet for an everyday, aluminum-free deodorant. It lasts me all day, as long as I'm not doing any rigorous activity or out in the heat all day. It has a very subtle scent, so its not too overpowering, perfect for working from home, running errands, etc. Arm and hammer: THIS IS MY HOLY GRAILLLLL!!! I’ve been using this one for years. This is by far, the ONLY aluminum-free deodorant that actually works for me while being active. I can last all day out in the heat, working out etc. I would note that it does contain baking soda in it, which can be irritating to some people. So definitely patch test it out on your arm first!

acne-soothing body washes! 🖤
i’d rather get coal than ... wait a second! in this case, we want coal. specifically, ash and charcoal. african black soap and charcoal are two of my favorite natural ingredients for addressing acne, inflammation, and scarring. the ash and charcoal bind to oil, dirt particles, and dead skin cells, and draw them away from your skin. two of my favorite body washes that use these ingredients are SheaMoisture - African Black Soap Soothing Body Wash and NATIVE - Native Body Wash . when comparing them head to head, the shea moisture product does a better job at cleansing. i also like the texture better, since it can gently exfoliate because of its oat particles. the native product definitely smells better (it has a light scent that i can’t put my finger on) and the packaging is so cute / sleek. i would repurchase both, but definitely reach for shea moisture first. let me know if you use black soap or charcoal in your skincare practice!

🚿🧖🏾‍♀️ shower essentials for body acne!
i get the occasional back acne / body acne flare-up. these products have been keeping me in check for the summer, so that i can wear all of my favorite racer axle and swimsuits. 👙 all three body washes are from my beloved target 🎯 SheaMoisture - African Black Soap Soothing Body Wash - this has been my OG skin-evening product for the last few years. black soap is wonderful for soothing acne and irritation; it also has vitamins A and E. i have also seen my scarring fade over time from using this gel. this product also uses oats as a gentle physical exfoliant. my husband and i both love this shower gel!! it’s also really affordable, at $8. pixi - Glycolic Body Wash - i started using this product this year, and i’m really liking it! it’s definitely stronger than the shea moisture product, since it has glycolic acid. as i have learned more about chemical exfoliating, i have been trying to incorporate them in my head-to-toe skincare regimen. i also appreciate the addition of aloe vera, for calming the skin. i would definitely recommend this if you want to see an overall smoothing effect. it is a little pricier for a shower gel ($18), but worth it. NATIVE - Native Body Wash in coconut + vanilla - i have struggled to find an affordable, everyday body gel that doesn’t irritate my skin and smells nice (but not too floral or sweet). this might be the one! I have emptied this first bottle and will definitely be repurchasing. four stars since it’s not super moisturizing, but it smells amazing (like a grown-up version of bath & body works warm vanilla sugar) and it’s also accessible ($8). i purchased the silicone scrubber online - i love that i can wash it in the washing machine (with no detergent) once a week and feel like it isn’t holding in a ton of germs and dead skin cells.

I’ve finally found my fave natural deodorant 😍
So it’s been a long journey with natural deodorant! I decided to make the switch about a year and a half to two years ago. I’ve used Kopari, Lavanila, type: A, Schmidt’s, and Native. By far Native is my favorite! Firstly, I like the aesthetic and component of Native packaging. Compared to other brands I find the applicator perfect and easy to use without getting it all over your clothes. It feels like your typical solid stick deodorant but doesn’t feel wet (like Kopari can... though I do like Kopari) and doesnt feel like mush (like Schmidt’s despite me still liking it) when you wipe it under your arms. Secondly, the scent selection is amazing!! I decided to order a three pack on their website (personally, I used Brad Mondo’s code which made this custom three pack only come to $26 with a free mini deodorant) and the scent selection they have is insane. I chose NATIVE - Pumpkin Spice Latte in regular and sensitive formulas (I’ve never really had sensitive skin but I had a friend once get a bad rash from Schmidt’s so I get nervous) and NATIVE - Buttercream & French Vanilla Deodorant which smell spot on and delicious. Like you know it’s bad when you’re working a shift and you’re talking to your best friend and you’re like “the best part of this right now is I can still smell my pumpkin spice deodorant” 😂 Like during the day you still smell pumpkin spice which makes me happy. Thirdly, it does the best at keeping the sweat/stench away during the day. I’ve used other natural deodorants that range from this does absolutely nothing to this is okay but I do have to reapply halfway throughout the day. With this I don’t have to reapply at all which is nice. Even if I did it’s convenient to have a little mini to throw in my work bag but I rarely ever need it (only on truck days 😉). Like it may be a little pricy at $11 per deodorant but it will forever be the one I purchase. It’s well worth the price for the scent, formula, and application.

You have to try this natural deoderant!
I’ve tried some other natural deodorants & the one I used more recently was alright, but I just got used to smelling my own natural scent more, and it seemed to be getting worse. I had heard so much about Native deodorant so I ordered some and I’m so happy I did! First of all, they smell great, and the scent is long-lasting, and they cover up any natural odour. I didn’t sweat while wearing these, but they are great for an everyday deodorant at least. I love the loco for coco scent so much, but it will be much harder to layer with other scents, including perfume. They only categorize it as a teen deoderant because of the scent and, as much as I love the smell of pina coladas, I kinda get why it may not be my go to scent. I absolutely love the buttercream vanilla and I’m bummed it’s a seasonal scent. Give it a try!

A College Student’s SKIN CABINET On the Go!
Welcome to my on the go skin cabinet! I’m so thrilled to be working with Cherie and Skin Cabinet for the next few weeks!🤩 That being said, let’s start out with how I organize my favorites!🥰 • Being a college student, I’m moving around a lot between home and my apartment at school. So, I needed an easy way to hold all of my products that did not take up too much room. College living is definitely making the most of smaller spaces! 🧺 My Two Organizers 🌿 • My little clear organizer I found at TJ Maxx for around $8, which is a great price considering most I have seen go for about $20! 🤑 • The very cute mini makeup fridge is a Cooluli - Classic 4 Liter Small Mini Fridge It comes in plain colors, but I’m from the south so it’s all about Coke here! I absolutely love my little fridge, but there is a large emphasis on ‘little.’ I think in the future I’ll want to size up, as my of my products are really tall and take up loads of space! If you have mainly smaller serums or such products, I believe the smallest sized fridge would serve you well! ❄️ To name a few favorites in the clear organizer🌿 • I have my Formula 10.0.6 mud and peel masks (I have some reviews up already, and I’ll be sure to get through them all in the future!) • My NATIVE - Citrus & Herbal Musk The one I have was seasonal, and it’s scent is cypress and ginger! Also they are now doing plastic free packaging which I am THRILLED about! • My bh - Crystal Zodiac 12 Piece Brush Set which I will have in a review coming up! In this picture they had just been washed and were still drying, which explains the lack of fluff • The lotion is PACIfICA - Indian Coconut Nectar Body Butter Tube This lotion was a godsend when I was staying at the hospital for a week a few years ago, and I have used it ever since! • And of course my clarisonic - Mia Smart Skincare + Mario Badescu Holiday Gift Set What’s Inside the Fridge 🌿 • I love the way the FORMULA 10.0.6 - Keep Your Cool Mask feels chilled! Go check out my post about the mask to learn more about why I adore it! 🧊😍 • The FORMULA 10.0.6 - So Totally Clean Deep Pore Cleanser is also in there. This stuff is a miracle worker, but I’ll be the first to admit it stings. That being said I like the contrast of stinging with the cold! • Lastly, I keep one of my FORMULA 10.0.6 - Best Face Forward Daily Foaming Cleanser in here! I use the chilled one in the morning for an extra wake up call! Note 🌿 •While these are not all the products in my organizers, these are my favorites! If you have questions about something you see that I didn’t touch on please ask me about it! • I am so ecstatic to share what is coming in the next few weeks! See you then! 🙌🤩

Native Deodorant
Making the switch to natural deodorant can be a struggle finding the right fit. I went through 4 other brands before trying Native! I had a terrible rash from some of the other ones I had tried and was about to give up and go back to my normal deodorant, but I’m glad I tried this last one. I have been using Native for almost 6 months now and it is seriously so similar to any normal deodorant i’ve tried. A little goes a long way! Application is important with natural deodorants because you don’t want to induce irritation. The scents they have are so good! I picked up this seasonal scent and it’s so good 😍😍 (this particular scent was not an option so i picked a random one). I will say...I usually have to apply 2 times a day, sometimes 3 when I workout. I do not mind this though, and they offer travel sizes which is convenient! A little pricey at $12 for one, but you have the choice of bundles at 3 for $30. Overall I am very pleased with this product and will probably never switch because it works so well for me! I recommend if you are keen to switch to natural deodorants. NATIVE - Loco For Coco

🌿 native deodorant: great scent, chalky texture
i was so excited when i saw these at target! i have been intrigued by natural deodorant for a while, but afraid to take the plunge. would the scent be strong enough / complimentary to my natural scent? would it even work? i’ve gradually been detoxing from dove products and using these native deodorants for the last two months. (+) natural ingredients, accessibility (sold at target), beautiful packaging, lovely scents. NATIVE - Eucalyptus & Mint Deodorant is my preferred scent - at first i thought that it would be a little too woodsy, but it’s very clean and unisex. NATIVE - Jasmine & Cedar Deodorant also has a nice scent, but it’s more subtle and not as floral as i would have wanted. (-) texture! now that i’m more than halfway done with these, the product has mixed with my body oils and it just feels chalky to roll on. it’s still effective as a deodorant, but it doesn’t glide on smooth like my old dove products. i would still use them because the product may be better for me, but i’m still getting used to the feel. it also takes a bit of time for the white residue to melt into my skin, but it’s fairly easy to wipe from my clothes (when you get that inevitable swipe into your shirt, lol).

#Native - Body Wash - Citrus and Herbal Musk[products]#[FiveStars] PRODUCT A gel body wash that comes in a wide array of scents - the main purpose is to gently wash the skin without drying it out. The texture is a slightly thick gel (see image). OPINION After one use of this body gel, I could understand why so many people rave about this. It lathers excellently, doesn’t dry out the skin, smells wonderful (I have citrus and herbal musk, among other scents) and has beautiful minimal packaging. It really cleansed my skin and left a faint scent, which is perfect since it doesn’t interfere with my perfume. I have recommended this a bunch of times already and think it is a steal for the $6-$8 price tag. I give is 5/5 stars.

Natural Deodorant? Is it worth it?
Natural Deodorant? Is it worth it?
Okay so all my life I’ve used the Secret or Dove deodorant but as I got older I noticed that my underarms would start to look darker. TMI Im sorry! Anyways I started looking for ways to lighten them or at least get them back to their normal color and I saw articles talked about using natural deodorant to help reduce dark marks. So I’ve tried two other natural deodorant and this far this one is my favorite! The scent is long lasting and you don’t have that fear of “smelling bad” when wearing it. If you want to try natural deodorant Native is your brand! I am trying out their other scent but the NATIVE - Coconut & Vanilla (Sensitive) is perfect for those who are sensitive to smells!

Like many I’ve made the decision to switch to natural deodorants and it was a struggle to find one that didn’t make me sweat excessively, make my under arms dark and actually lasts the whole day.One stick would last me two to three weeks. This brand provides several other deodorants with heavenly scents but these three are my favorite. These deodorants also come in travel sizes which are suitable to fit in your bag.

Looking for a clean deo? I love Native deodorants! They 1) smell AMAZING and offer so many classic and seasonal scents 2) are aluminum free and 3) are coconut oil based! I have gone through 2 of these already and am on to my 3rd tube! I’m currently using the Charcoal scent which I find to be super refreshing year round. And loved my previous two Coconut & Vanilla scented ones. They’re also affordable and available in most Targets! I highly highly recommend this to people who are looking for a clean formula to try!
