Minimize trauma to the skin after picking🧖🏾‍♀️
as someone who suffers from dermatillomania, it can be very triggering when breakouts come out of nowhere and return with no warning...especially when life isn’t always easy. which may trigger you to pick even more. some of these products really helped repair the broken skin i was creating for myself from picking without further irritating. i am still trying to put together a perfect post picking routine. (Which will go up here ASAP.) However, what i do know is that HYDRATION post picking is very important. if you can’t help yourself but pop pimples or pick at your skin, pls drop the tools & use q tips!! the closer to the surface the acne is, the better! before and after picking its important to wash your hands and cleanse your skin. I go straight for theCeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser I like this for treating irritated, broken skin/ scabs on my face because it’s non irritating and doesn’t further strip the already broken skin when cleansing. This cleanser hasn’t really helped much with existing (comedongenic) acne for me. But it is good for this. Right after, i go straight for HOLIKA HOLIKA - Aloe 99% Soothing Gel & CeraVe - Healing Ointment I LOVEEEE both of these products. They’ve helped calm irritation, and resurface scars both on my face and my body but also helps the scabs fall off a bit quicker with less trauma to the skin. Add some hyluaronic acid to this mixture!! After this, I applyAveeno - Daily Moisturizing Lotion This lotion has really helped fade acne scars alone/ used with other products. The dimethicone in this product works as a skin protectant. If I am headed outside, (Though this mini routine is ideal for the night time, I would apply my BLACK GIRL SUNSCREEN - Black Girl Sunscreen SPF 30 SPF is very important for us pickers. Don’t skip the SPF! 🧴Avoid any chemical exfoliants or tugging or scrubbing at the broken skin until the lesion and scab has healed! Make sure to keep the scabs moisturized!

I bought a huge aloe leaf for $5
Holika holika is a kbeauty brand that’s been known to make some really great products. One of those great products is the soothing gel that’s made from 99% aloe Vera from jeju Island. I purchased mine at Marshall’s for $5 but it’s also available on amazon for around $6 or so. If you’ve been keeping up with my posts you should know that I’ve started retinol recently and it’s making my skin purge. I use this HOLIKA HOLIKA - Aloe 99% Soothing Gel as my morning and night moisturizer to help with some of the redness from my breakouts. So far I’m in love with it, just it just has one teeny tiny problem. It’s hard to get only a small amount of the product out of the bottle 😭 My face is fairly small so I only need maybe a nickel size amount to cover my whole face because a little bit of this stuff goes and EXTREMELY long way. The dispenser makes it a bit hard to get only a little because you have to be very gentle when pressing the leaf. That’s my only problem with this product though. I really love the scent because it smells really clean and refreshing. Fragrance is one of the last ingredients so that’s also pretty good. It has a very watery gel like texture but once it absorbs into the skin it stays in the skin. The look of the product is also very cute and I enjoy it. So is it worth it for $5? Yes :)

Hyram Approved👇5 Ways to Skin Care When You're
Stress can trigger a breakout as your body responds to it. This situation could apply to anyone, whether you are a student, a parent, or a normal human being.  Here Hyram shares a bunch of tips, including non skincare and skincare, to help you improve your skin as you are stressed.  Tip: Hyram's recommendation:  Holika Holika: a Korean skincare brand Line recommended: Less on skin products & Less on skin Cica products: completely fragrance-free and great for sensitive skin Less on skin line: it really works when you have stress skin because the ingredient lists are very simple and very short. You should reduce the ingredients that you introduce to your skin every day when it comes to sensitive skin.  HOLIKA HOLIKA - Less On Skin Micellar Cleansing Gel 7.05 Ounce: the ingredients are very gentle. It makes sure to clean up your skin but not overly strip it or sensitize it. Recommend to oily skin. HOLIKA HOLIKA - Less on Skin Toner6.08fl.oz: If you want a toner you could add the extra step into your skincare routine to make sure you get enough hydration  HOLIKA HOLIKA - Less on Skin Emulsion180ml 6.08 fl.oz.: very lightweight, get enough hydration into the skin without feeling heavy or greasy especially in a humid environment.  HOLIKA HOLIKA - Less on Skin Micellar Cleansing Water: the second ingredient is glycerin to hydrate your skin. This product could be used in the morning and rinse afterward instead of fully clean your skin  Less on skin Cica (Centella Asiatica) line: this line increases the soothing plant extracts that will be really good to reduce sensitivity.  HOLIKA HOLIKA - Less on Skin Redness Calming CICA Balm: a good hydrating moisturizer that you could use to lock everything at night so that you will not lose water as you sleep. It has Glycerin, Sunflower Seed Oil, Panthenol, Echium Plantagineum Oil, etc. The consistency is a little bit thick but still works well along with other serum products.  HOLIKA HOLIKA - Less on skin Redness Claming CICA Serum: extremely lightweight and works with other products very well. The first ingredient is Centella Asiatica. Formulated with Meadowfoam Seed Oil, Panthenol, Jojoba Seed Oil. Great for day and night.  HOLIKA HOLIKA - Less on Skin Cica Cleansing Foam: it contains a lot of plant extracts to help soothe and hydrate the skin. Recommend to normal to dry skin.  3. At least five minutes for your skincare routine every day, it’s like a meditation, especially from at the beginning of your day.  4. Combine skincare steps to make it easier. 5. Stop touching your face during the day. No rubbing your eyes or face. The basteria on your hands will increase the risk of breakouts. How Good Are The “Good’s”?
Two brands with “good” in their name. But is it true? HOLIKA HOLIKA - Good Cera Super Ceramide Emulsion is a great anytime moisturizer. It’s light but still effective. It’s a really nice, gentle cream chock full of ceramides. Ceramides diminish as you age, so something so simple and mild that you can just rub on your skin is fantastic. They can also be helpful if you’ve overdone it on harsher skin care products like AHA/BHAs and/or retinol. I bought this after going overboard with some other products. I was hoping it would feel like nothing but my damaged skin still stung a little. The only thing that doesn’t seem to sting in this situation is a natural oil like marula oil. HOLIKA HOLIKA - Good Cera Super Ceramide Moisture Balm is essentially the same as the emulsion, except it’s more of a balm so it makes it suitable to use on your lips as well. It has a little more staying power than the emulsion. GOOD MOLECULES - Discoloration Correcting Serum I’ve been using this for a couple weeks now, so it’s a little early for a review. That said, I don’t think I’m seeing much lightening of my “dark spots”. I think some of the “dark spots” this app identified may actually be freckles, so I don’t know if that is a factor. So far, I can’t say whether or not it truly works. GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Serum this one is also relatively new to me. I was using another type of niacinamide before using this one and I don’t see a big difference with some of my random pimples but I don’t know if it’s that this doesn’t do much, if I need to use it for longer or if I should be using a different type of product. I think Good Molecules seems like a good brand and I’m going to continue use. They are very affordable (and I love the packaging!), so I think they’re worth a shot. If anyone else has tried something by Good Molecules, I’d love to hear how they worked for you!

Say Hola to Aloe!
Say Hola to Aloe!
With all the informative articles and reviews on the best sunscreens on the market, everyone better be keeping safe from those treacherous UV rays this summer. However, if you slip up and are feeling the burn, aloe is usually what most people grab for. Having a history of dermatological abnormalities, I am obsessive about sun protection and didn’t buy this as a sunburn soother, but instead as a hydrator! I read some amazing things about aloe masks for clearing up dry patches and wanted to give it a try. Unfortunately by the time this product arrived from shipping overseas, I had cleared up my dry patches with other products. Nevertheless, it still deserves a review! First off; the packaging! How incredibly clever and beautiful is this packaging! I’m in love! As a person who loves to display skin care products on my counter top, I love how sleek and stunning it looks. Next up: the scent. This gel has a light cucumber-melon scent to it which come from cucumber and watermelon extract in the ingredients. These extracts (along with the other added ingredients) only make up 1% of the formula though. This gel is 99% aloe vera. For texture, this gel lends itself more toward liquid than solid. It’s a runny gel but it absorbs very fast! It left my skin feeling very soft and left no residue. While this product is typically available on Ulta’s website, it was out of stock for weeks when I tried to order it so I opted to purchase from Beauty Bay. The international shipping was comparable to standard US shipping and I was able to snag this product for only $7.95 compared to $9.00 at Ulta. Overall, the price is right and the product is effective! If you give it a try for your dry spots or sunburn, comment and let me know how it works for you! Retails in USA for $9.00 Retails on Beauty Bay for $7.95 HOLIKA HOLIKA - Aloe 99% Soothing Gel

Never Judge a Sheet Mask by its Packaging
Never Judge a Sheet Mask by its Packaging
Never judge a sheet mask by its packaging... 🍬 Holika Holika is known for having aesthetically pleasing packaging & it’s fair to say when we saw this jelly mask w/ Peko on it we were so pumped to try it. However, what followed is the most terrifying masking session we’ve had to date. 🍬 Scroll over to see the mask laid flat, but what you won’t see is it on our face. Trust us. It was trauma inducing, bc it’s highly saturated in a thick, pink, clear jelly essence. Think ectoplasm. Combined w/ the printed mask, it looks like something out of “Silence of the Lambs”. 🍬 All this we could handle, but it didn’t feel right. There was a burning sensation that was unpleasant, so after only 3 mins we ended the masking sessions. It wasn’t worth the risk. Next time, we’ll stick w/ the candy.

Holika Holika Water Drop Lip Tint
Holika Holika Water Drop Lip Tint
I picked these up in Beijing a couple years ago and they’re pretty nice! The versions I have are definitely the old packaging and the slightly changed the name. These lip tints are pretty good, but not as good as the Tony Moly ones. I find the color fades so you have to put it on in a few layers. It can also be a little drying. But the colors are nice and give a stain as well. HOLIKA HOLIKA - Water Drop Tint Bomb Pretty sure mine are expired now 😬😬😬 but I don’t want to throw them away since they’re a souvenir from China. What would y’all do?

Finally my first Holika Holika product! I had to snatch these up, the Lazy and Joy Dessert Hand Cream (Gudetama ぐでたま Edition) because they are adorable. I initially bought these for travel, to put in my purse or pocket but then covid-19 hit and they are just sitting 🤧sooo I thought I’d show these cuties to you! . Gudetama is a Japanese character created by Saniro (if you know Hello Kitty you know Sanrio), it’s an adorable egg with depression...pls 🤧 I love it so much. The art is cute and I just love this eggs existence, I am about to go broke buying this cute egg. And I love Holika Holika too so a beautiful collab! I really liked these, they were soft and creamy. Not thick but quite a moisture boost on the go after washing them. The scents aren’t too overpowering either. The lotions are in custard, sherbet and cream cheese and I like all of them...a nice gentle scent and they actually moisturize my hands after washing. It has olive oil, jojoba oil, keratin for nails and cuticles, lemon fruit oil, egg yolk extract...nice nourishing ingredients! Purchased for $16.78 on Yesstyle.
