affordable drugstore eyecream !
I've never really noticed my dark under eye circles until being in my 3rd trimester. up until then, it never was an issue for me. one day I woke up and looked in the mirror and thought "Holy crap what is going on????" so one day day at Shopper's Drug Mart, I went into the skin care section to find an eye cream that would target my dark under eye circles, and thats where I found this product. I've been using it for almost 2 months now and I've noticed my under eyes getting much brighter. I actually don't look as tired constantly as I used to before using this product. it is a clear gel consistency and glides on smoothly. I pat it in and it leaves a mild cooling sensation that I really like. I've used an eye cream before from Drunk Elephant, it was a trial size and I absolutely loved it. I've been waiting for the right time to purchase it again because of how pricey it is. So in the mean time I will be using this! I honestly don't remember how much it was at Shopper's but I want to say it was in the $20 range. VERSED - VACATION EYES Brightening Eye Gel I've given it 4 stars because: affordable it works - brightens my under eyes has a great amount of product per package non-toxic cruelty free vegan pregnancy safe the one star I took away was just my comparison to the drunk elephant eye cream. I found that one left my undereyes feeling very supple and smooth, where as this one just feels the same. thanks for reading :)

first impressions: versed + purity
i recently bought VERSED - DAY DISSOLVE Cleansing Balm and philosophy - Purity One-Step Facial Cleanser , and i have a few initial thoughts after having used them each a handful of times: VERSED - DAY DISSOLVE Cleansing Balm this is my first oil-based cleanser, and subsequently it is gonna be a little weird. i do like the almost-vaseline texture of the balm and how my skin feels after removing it, but i resent the smell and that it is not eye-safe. i would love a recommendation for oil-based cleansers that are, if any! philosophy - Purity One-Step Facial Cleanser i really like this one so far. it has a creamy consistency and super-light fresh smell. i have very sensitive eyes but experience no discomfort when using it around them, and it removes all makeup with ease. i’ve thought about buying this for ages and i am so glad i did! i hope you enjoyed ;) please be sure to follow here and on my IG @chloebrk.mua #cheriecreator

I tried Double Cleansing!
Hey y’all! First, after reading several of y’alls posts on double cleansing and using cleansing balms, it sent me down a rabbit hole of researching 😂 So here is my end of day/nighttime double cleansing routine: For a few weeks I have been using the VERSED - DAY DISSOLVE Cleansing Balm to break down my make up and overall daily dirtiness. I LOVE this stuff! it smells delightful and the scent is very light! it breaks down my make up it breaks down the dirt and oils that build up it leaves no residue! it leaves my skin feels soft and moisturized After using the balm, I turn to my trusty facial cleansing brush and put a nickel size amount of philosophy - Purity One-Step Facial Cleanser this cleanser does NOT dry out the skin very faint smell, if at all any deep cleansing without leaving skin feeling stripped this truly leaves my skin clean, fresh and ready to take on the rest of my skin care! You can find the facial cleaning brush on Amazon. Just remember to keep it clean. I usually wash mine once a week with Dawn dish soap (rinse thoroughly!)

My lazy night routine
I love skin care but sometimes I just don’t have the patience or the time for a full routine. However I am not willing to compromise my skin condition so I wanted a quick but very effective routine which is how I came out with this one. N°7 - Radiant Results Nourishing Cleansing Balm I never go to sleep with makeup on so that is never a step that I skip out on. This cleansing balm gently breaks down makeup and is soothing for the skin #Acure - Seriously Soothing Cleansing Cream[products]#[FiveStars] This is a gentle cleanser that foams while still being hydrating. VERSED - THE SHORTCUT Overnight Facial Peel This is a very gentle exfoliating treatment. This is a AHA cream that is massaged into the skin and is hydrating enough for anyone other then dry or dehydrated skin. FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration This is my go to moisturizer as it is deeply nourishing

Ingredients to Build your Routine Around
I am 35 years old with two kids. I have dry / normal skin. My top concerns are fine lines & wrinkles, preventing aging, dullness, and dark circles. When I started my skincare routine, all I knew was that I started to notice fine lines & wrinkles and wanted to buy new products for “anti-aging”. After a lot of research, here are my Top 5 Ingredients with proven benefits for 30s Skin: 1. Retinol Retinol is a powerhouse for wrinkles. It is a synthetic derivative of Vitamin A. It alters the behaviour of aged skin cells. It smooths skin texture, enhances radiance and treats aging. Retinol can be irritating to skin, so build up your tolerance gradually starting with a lower percentage and only 1-2 days per week. DRUNK ELEPHANT - A-Passioni Retinol Cream Murad - Ready, Radiant, Retinol SKINCEUTICALS - Retinol 0.3 SUNDAY RILEY - Luna Sleeping Night Oil If you need an alternative to retinol because you have sensitive skin or you are pregnant or breastfeeding, bakuchiol is a good plant-based all natural alternative to retinol or rosehip oil is high in Vitamin A. HERBIVORE - Bakuchiol Anti-Aging Serum BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Phyto-Retinol Serum The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil 2. Vitamin C A potent antioxidant that helps reduce skin inflammation, irregular pigmentation, and promotes healthier collagen production. It neutralizes free radical damage and great for AM routine. DRUNK ELEPHANT - Time to Wake Up Duo SUNDAY RILEY - CEO 15% Vitamin C Brightening Serum SKINCEUTICALS - C E Ferulic With 15% L-Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C Serum VERSED - STROKE OF BRILLIANCE Brightening Serum 3. Exfoliate / AHAs Exfoliation is about boosting cell turnover. You should do it twice a week. Use different acids like lactic acid and glycolic acid. Build up a tolerance. You can use toners, serums, or creams. Kate Somerville - Liquid ExfoliKate Triple Acid Resurfacing Treatment SUNDAY RILEY - Good Genes All in One Lactic Acid Treatment The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA FARMACY - Honeymoon Glow Serum 4. Peptides Peptides preserve and boost collagen production. Peptides are short chain amino acids that act as building blocks for proteins such as collagen. It improves the appearance of firmness and wrinkles. Extensive research supports that peptides improve skin function and appearance. The Ordinary - ''Buffet'' OLAY - Wrinkle Correction Serum with Vitamin B3+ Collagen Peptides PAULA'S CHOICE - Peptide Booster 5. Hydration In your 30s your skin tends to get dehydrated. Hydration will plump up skin. Add a hydrating toner, facial spray, hyaluronic acid serum. The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 **BONUS** SPF Never forget you sunscreen ☀️

Inspired by Caroline Hirons
Happy New Year! In December I read Caroline Hiron’s book “Skincare a No NonSense Guide”. See earlier post for a review (I definitely recommend the read!). In her book she lays out the basics for creating a skincare routine. I am 35 with dry, normal skin. My concerns are preventing fine lines & wrinkles, dullness, dark circles, and hyperpigmentation. Here’s her basics for an AM Routine: 1. Cleanse A recent trend has been that you don’t need to wash your face in the morning. Instead you should look for a gentle cleanser. She also suggests staying away from foaming cleanser (these contain Sulfates) CLINIQUE - CLINIQUE Liquid Facial Soap I bought this Jumbo Clinique Facial Soap on sale in the summer and I’m still slowly working through it. It is gentle. However, after starting my clean skincare journey I found it has sulfates (second ingredient), TEA, and PEGs. I will swap for a “clean” soap when I finish it. (See my clean skincare posts for more info) 2. Exfoliate Caroline recommends using toners to exfoliate. Buy two acids a gentler and a stronger and rotate them. I’ve learned I like serums better for exfoliating, but I have started rotating two Pixi toners (see post for longer review) pixi - Glow Tonic pixi - Milky Tonic 3. Spray Mist She suggests to look for a mist with glyercin or hyalonic acid or rose water. Or use a hydrating toner I’ve been using The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 for this step. A very affordable hyaluronic acid that won an Allure Beauty Award. Do you use a facial mist? What do you recommend? 4. Eye cream Many people say eye cream should be after serums & moisturizer, but says it should be first to act as a barrier for the eye area. The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG See my previous post for full review. I’ve been using this to target my dark circles, but haven’t noticed much difference. 5. Serums / oils This step is where you should target your concerns (i.e., hyperpigmentation). I love Vitamin C serum for the AM. VERSED - STROKE OF BRILLIANCE Brightening Serum This is a great drugstore Vitamin C serum. I’ve noticed my skin is brighter and more radiant! See earlier post for more info. 6. Moisturize CLINIQUE - Moisture Surge Hydrating Lotion I got this as a reward from Clinique and really like it for a daytime moisturizer. If you are a fan of their Moisture Surge line you will like this. It leaves my skin feeling very hydrated. With this concentrate you use less and it absorbs easily quicker. But from a “clean” beauty perspective it contains dyes. 7. SPF And finally always SPF. ICLINIQUE - Moisture Surge Sheertint Hydrator Broad Spectrum SPF 25 This is a great BB cream with SPF, light coverage, and moisturizing This routine leaves me feeling great even without putting on anymore make-up

The BEST Affordable Skincare! (All $20 or under)
Krave - The Beet Shield $20 for 50 ml Only pros with this one! No white cast, not too greasy, not drying, sits well under makeup, completely unscented, and spf 50+++! LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel $14.99 for 13.52 oz This cleanses my skin thoroughly without being overly drying or stripping. Gentle enough to be used on eye makeup too! CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin $18.99 for 16 oz Super hydrating but not too thick or pore clogging. Dries slightly matte so it works well under makeup too. Can be used on the whole body VERSED - WEEKEND GLOW $17.99 for 4 oz This has lactic acid, glycolic acid, azelaic acid, kojic acid and vitamin c to exfoliate and brighten. I use this several times a week in the morning and notice my skin is sooo much brighter since I began using it. Not irritating at all, despite all of the different active ingredients. Also love the pump bottle top THE inkey LIST - Oat Cleansing Balm $9.99 for 5 oz I love that this one comes in a tube instead of a jar! Much more sanitary and easier to get out. This removes all my makeup easily, even lipstick and mascara, and rinses off without leaving any kind of film behind. indeed LABORATORIES - In-Circadian Night Mask $24.99 for 1.7 oz Okay yes this one is more than $20, but it’s sold at Ulta and there are always great coupons that would make it under $20 when used. A night mask is just a thick moisturizer, but this one can also be layered over your regular moisturizer in colder months, or if you have extra dry skin. This mask is super hydrating and sinks into the skin super well so it won’t get on your pillow while you sleep #cheriepartner

Versed vs My Skin
I’m a big fan of skincare that can be found at Target- some people think it’s cheap, but I think it’s full of hidden gems. Not every product from every brand is gonna be a hit, but whenever I find a good product it’s like I struck gold and it quickly becomes a staple in my skincare routine. With the release of Versed skincare, I was more than excited to see how their products stacked up compared to some of my favorites. Winter has been especially hard on my skin this year, and I was in dire need of a more hydrating daily moisturizer, so I assumed Versed Rich Moisture Cream would do the trick. It’s less than 20 dollars for 1.5 oz of product, and it’s marketed for dry and aging skin. Looking at the ingredients, nothing stood out as clearly drugstore brand and it looked liked it’d be the perfect addition for my skin!! Upon first application, I totally fell in love. I’m not the biggest fan of open containers for products, but I also think an open jar means you won’t waste even a bit of product. It felt lightweight but still impactful, leaving my skin immediately moisturized and nourished, with a hint of a glow left on my face as well. For the first time in weeks, my skin stayed completely hydrated throughout the day. It’s creamy and non-greasy, but not so thick that you feel like you’re really rubbing into your skin as you apply it. Another thing that I absolutely love - absolutely NO fragrance. Just a moisturizer doing it’s job- moisturizing! Now that I’ve been using it for a few weeks, however, I’ve noticed some issues in my skin. This moisturizer’s second ingredient is hydrogenated polyisobutene, which is an emollient. Emollients are GREAT for dry skin because they form a protective layer over your skin to lock in moisture. They’re not that great, though, when you’re prone to acne. They don’t clog pores, but that protective layer also traps bacteria for the day as well. Since using this moisturizer, my cystic acne is making a come back. My skin hasn’t been like this for me since I first realized that emollients react badly with my skin! I thought it was just dimethicone since that’s what was in my old moisturizer, and because it’s used in a lot of cheaper moisturizers, but now I know to look out for all emollients in my skincare!! I’m going to finish this product because it definitely works wonders for my dry skin, and I hate the idea of wasting money or product. I’m definitely not going to buy it again, though, because it’s making me break out, and I had just gotten so confident and used to only getting pimples around my period. This 24/7 acne again is just NOT for me! Everyone’s different, so if you’re not prone to acne or your skin reacts better to emollients, this moisturizer is a STEAL for the price and effectiveness!!

Good skn w/ some frizzy hair, how’s Quarantini?
Basically me everyday wash routine morning and night is Step 1: Cleanse with average Hydrating cleanser (the one that doesn’t foam) *MAKE SURE YOURE CLEANSER YOUR SKN FOR 60 SECS LADIES/GENTS) We want all that dirt and debris off ur skin. Step 2: I used persa gel which is 10% benzoyl peroxide to fight acne. I use it morning and night, but make sure in the morning to really use a hydrating moisturizer since it can dry out the skin. No Dark Circles, But No 👎🏽
As far as eye products go the opinions are varied and usually fierce. I’m not really for or against them I just see what gives me results. In my opinion this is a solid caffeine eye cream. Keeps dark circles and puffiness at bay. I was honestly so surprised how well it made me look more awake and bright eyed than I really was. The only thing I’m not crazy about is my eye area feels dry when I use this overnight. It’s billed as being moisturizing, but for me it’s just the opposite. So I make sure I tap in a bit of moisturizer over it. And still after prolonged use my eyes became very dry, red and irritated. I love to keep it chilled in my beauty fridge for a cooling effect when I apply it. So while I do like this, but it won’t be a repurchase for me. The results from the caffeine are nice, but I would prefer something that was much more hydrating especially heading into the cold winter months.

Skincare on a Budget: Best Drugstore Eye Creams
Eye creams are always pretty pricey, but for some of us they can be a necessity. They can be good for students like me that pull all-nighters studying or doing homework often then wake up with dark circles and tired eyes. They can also be good for puffiness. These are the best drugstore eye creams that are very effective. e.l.f. - CBD Eye Cream This product has a lightweight creamy gel texture that absorbs very quickly and leaves the under eye area feeling soft. The under eye area is very delicate so it’s really good that this product is fragrance-free. This product’s star ingredient cannabidiol (CBD) soothes skin and reduces inflammation. -Formula includes three forms of peptides which stimulates the skin to produce collagen for more firm and younger looking skin. -Contains allantoin and aloe, very soothing ingredients. -Also contains hyaluronic acid for plumping and panthenol which is a humectant. CeraVe - Eye Repair Cream CeraVe comes through once again, but this time with their eye cream. Like their other products, this one contains three ceramides which are great anti-aging ingredients. It also contains plumping hyaluronic acid along with niacinamide to brighten skin and smooth fine lines and wrinkles. -It also contains soothing and hydrating ingredients such as aloe, almond oil, jojoba esters, and glycerin. -It is very inexpensive seeing as it retails for $12.99. VERSED - THE FIX Emergency Eye Mask The texture of this product has a slightly thick gel consistency that applies easily. It dries somewhat quickly, but since it has a thick texture, it’s better to use at night. The gel has a cooling effect but this isn’t due to any potentially irritating, cooling ingredients like menthol. -This is also very different from other products since it is a mask that is meant for the eye area. -Contains cucumber which is great for its hydrating and antioxidant abilities. -Includes two peptides which is helpful for fine lines around the eyes and such. -Non-fragrant rosehip oil, moisturizing pantheol, vitamin C, and two forms of Vitamin E are included which help strengthen the eye area. -Caffeine is included which can help soothe redness, but there isn’t much research that proves it can help puffy eyes. bliss - Eye Do All Things Eye Gel This is a great product from bliss that has a lightweight gel texture. The gel is very moisturizing but not too heavy and it absorbs very quickly with a light dewy finish. The formula has great skin replenishing ingredients such as squalane, glycerin, and panthenol. -The formula also contains three forms of peptides for its anti-aging benefits. -Antioxidants in the forms of vitamin E and C work to protect skin and aid in brightening the under eye area. -Caffeine is included which can help soothe redness, but there isn’t much research that proves it can help puffy eyes. Always apply SPF!!!

The BEST of Versed Skincare
I first saw this brand at Target and was super excited to try some of the products. I was very surprised with quite a few of these products, but also disappointed with others. I’ll talk about the disappointing products in another post though. VERSED - PRESS RESTART This serum has a lightweight lotion feel to it which is great for most skin types. Those with oily skin may find that this product is too hydrating. This serum also works well with other products. -Contains a good amount of retinol along with bakuchiol which helps stabilize the formula and it has the same effects as retinol. -Fragrance-free. -The formula includes moisture-retaining sugars such as xylitol. -The formula also contains antioxidant plant extracts such as prickly pear, aloe, as well as sea buckthorn, rosehip oils, and shea butter. VERSED - FIND CLARITY Purifying Mask This mask has a creamy texture which is comfortable for all skin types. It is fragrance-free and unlike other clay masks, it is free of other irritants. -After rinsing, this product leaves skin smoother and softer. -Uses kaolin and bentonite clays to control shine absorb excess oil. VERSED - ON THE RISE FIRMING SERUM This is a lightweight serum that is suitable for all skin types and leaves a non-greasy finish. The formula also includes sodium hyaluronate for hydration. -Contains many antioxidants in the forms of vitamin C, E, and A. -Includes a very soothing combo of peptides that help to improve signs of sun damage and replenish the skin’s surface. VERSED - Silk Slip Conditioning Lip Oil This product is described as an oil but is a little thicker than that which helps it to stay on the lips. There is a noticeable shine after application, but nothing too dramatic. This lip oil is free of fragrance, flavor, or other irritating ingredients. -Includes a great amount of antioxidants such as non-fragrant jojoba, soybean, sesame, macadamia olive, and sunflower oils. -The formula also includes shea butter which is a good emollient. -All ingredients listed above contribute to hydrating and smoothing that help the appearance of healthy, plump lips.

🥰 Gentle exfoliant that gave me baby soft skin❤
Hey everyone!! ❤️ The VERSED - THE SHORTCUT Overnight Facial Peel is the first Versed product I’ve ever bought and WOW! I walked by the Versed display in Target and the cute packaging caught my eye. (I know I’m a sucker for packaging). I grabbed this product first, read the box, and looked at the ingredients and was already impressed. Now a month later, I’m OBSESSED with this product. I use it about twice a week at night and the next morning my skin always feels ~so soft~! For an exfoliating peel, it has been so gentle on my skin. I also love the lightweight cream consistency! I have skin that can handle much stronger AHAs, but I think this lactic acid glycolic acid peel would work great for more sensitive skin too. I picked up VERSED - ON THE RISE FIRMING SERUM the other day while I was at Target because ever since I fell in love with this overnight peel I’ve been dying to try more Versed products. I’ve only used this serum a couple times but will post an update once I’ve been using it for longer. Do y’all know of any other great Versed products for me to try?

I bought the Versed Eye Gel probably a couple of months ago. I was intrigued by the line, sold at Target, because of its use of clean products and also the price point. This product is $17.99 and is available online or in store. I do like the consistency, it’s a gel. I wouldn’t say I’ve noticed a real difference in the appearance of my eyes.
