I had been wanting a purple lipstick since the beginning of this year, but since I have a darker complexion I was hesitant to go bold. Then along came the Lip bar - the Lip bar Liquid Matte Lipstick 💜✨ I pop this color on when I want an instant confidence boost. Not only does it look amazing on, its hyper pigmented so one application goes a long way! Which is a relief because it’s a pretty small size tube. It’s a liquid matte lip, and the texture glides on smooth then dries matte. It’s not chalky, but I’d still recommend applying a hydrating lip balm first for moisture. 💜✨ Purple combines the calm stability of blue and the fierce energy of red. The color purple is often associated with royalty, nobility, luxury, power, and ambition.

Me again, back at it with a matte lip 🤪 I talked about The Lip Bar on here only a bit ago & ran right back to try more of their products because I enjoyed the gloss so much & they do not disappoint!! The smashbox - Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick has been my ride or die for years, but now this the Lip bar - the Lip bar Liquid Matte Lipstick might take the cake! 📍My complexion: Light with red/pink undertones 📍Shade Range: Reds, oranges, purples, pinks, & nudes galore 😍 📍Texture: Soft & creamy!!! Dries down nice & slow instead of instantly which I find is nice to clean up mistakes 📍Claims: “Our best selling lip category. Liquid matte lipstick goes on like gloss, dries matte and lasts all day - without drying your lips out.” 📍Dollas: $12.99 for 0.24oz ✅ My experience: I like to address the drying claims first bc matte lipstick is always gonna be drying no matter what they say, it’s all about the lip prep 👌🏻 That being said, this goes on really creamy & dries down slowly which I actually love! I’m used to the Smashbox drying almost immidiately and the extra time to clean it up & make it perfect is good for someone like me who constantly goofs on lipstick application! I was definitely impressed with the lasting power and color payoff of this. The formula is insanely good and makes matte lipstick sooo much easier to use! I’m also a big fan of the price point when compared to the Smashbox I love which is literally double the price at $24. I only have this product in the shade Unimpressed (rosey nude) but really want to try some others. You can tell that the brand formulates their shades to compliment a wide range of complexions and advertises every shade on diverse models so you can see how it looks on the skin closest to yours! We love ad and swatch diversity 👏🏻 They also have a super short test that recommends shades for your skin tone on their website if you’re having trouble choosing!! So it’s no secret that I love lip gloss, but I’m pretty picky about them. The Lip Bar is a Black owned beauty co that challenges traditional (aka white) beauty standards and diversity isn’t just a trend for them, it’s the core of their business model & they aim for all their shades to look good on everyone! Plus, the most important part to me: vegan & cruelty free!!! 👏🏻👏🏻 the Lip bar - the Lip Bar Lip Gloss 📍My complexion: Light with red/pink undertones 📍Shade Range: this gloss comes in everything from clear glittery gloss to all the nudes to hot pink and orange 📍Texture: Silky, light, & hydrating! Barely there feel with crazy color payoff 📍Claims: “Lip gloss is our cleanest lip product! Super pigmented, 80% organic and the best part is, its silky not sticky!” 📍Dollas: $14 ✅ My experience: I figured if I was gonna test this truly, I’d get opposite shades so I got a deep nude (Ms Independent) and shimmery clear (Trophy Wife). Both formulas are super silky and light weight. I cannot stress enough that this does NOT feel like lip gloss at all, no sticky feeling!!! I’m so impressed. The color payoff in the nude shade is incredible, two swipes and it’s full coverage. The staying power is iffy, I think if I blotted and applied more carefully it would have lasted better so I’ll have to test that and get back to y’all. However, it’s lip gloss so i don’t expect a lot and it’s so light that re-applying is a breeze. The tubes are skinny & super cute plus lightweight so they can be stashed anywhere on the go. The Ms Independent shade is a deep nude for me (super light skin) which i absolutely love, but I image it would be the absolute perfect nude for Black or Brown babes. Trophy Wife has the most beautiful gold hinted shimmer that are the best final touch to a good no makeup day. The only thing I didn’t absolutely love is that the shimmer in the Trophy Wife shade gives the gloss a little bit of a texture so if you’re sensitive to that maybe avoid the glitter shades but the color is so pretty that I’m okay with it! The applicator is a good reliable doe foot which is great, but the applicator itself is plastic & super light weight which makes manuvering it a tad difficult, but honestly this is not a big deal at all just something that I noticed! Definitely will be running back to Target and trying out some more things from this brand soon 😍 #CherieCreator #BlackOwnedBeauty #LipGloss
