curly hair routine!
these are my current hair products. I also listed them in the order I use them. 1. SheaMoisture - Coconut & Hibiscus Hair Masque I use this once a week. 2. PATTERN - Leave-In Conditioner My favorite leave-in conditioner. 3. PATTERN - Curl Gel Its lightweight yet a strong hold. 4. Levor Signature Hair Mask - this is intended to be a hair mask, but my hair and scalp love it as a finishing oil. This is an oil so it's very unique. I recommend checking out this company's hair products especially if you have natural hair. this is the website levorhair.com let me know if you have any questions ❤

Best style for my face structure ✨ #Cheriepartne
I always tend to go to this pineapple hair do! I feel like it compliments my face structure the best. I would say my face structure is very oval and anything that takes so much volume from the sides of your face will compliment it much more! The product I usually love to use when I’m doing this style is PATTERN - Leave-In Conditioner Has a really nice scent and keeps my frizz in place! Honestly I feel like the “Pineaple” hair just looks amazing for curly haired girls! It’s just an overall fun look that also comes in handy in the summer time! Lately I’ve been trying to experiment with my hair and I always find myself putting my hair up. From them to time also adding a cute scarf for and extra cuteness! I always tend to try and look for the best curly hair hairstyles to rock at parties! I feel like when I have my hair up I can feel my face just feeling more “defined”. This hairstyle works the best for my face hands down!!

New Haul For All My New Friends!!
Looks like I’ve been getting some new followers here on ze cherie. Hello and welcome!! Thought I’d share this haul that’s been sittin in my drafts for a minute. Just got allllllll these goodies from PATTERN beauty for my 3a curly tresses. Fun Fact: Tracee Ellis Ross is the founder, and was my valentine once (I’m not lying. At all.) She launched styling products a little bit ago and I’ve been super excited to try these. I’ve been pretty consistently on my natural hair journey for a few years now and I’m always down to try new products! PATTERN - Styling Cream I personally think this cream can totally work for some folks. I have really fine hair so it can get weighed down pretty easily. This cream is thicc unlike most other curl creams (way thicker than my usualOuidad - Advanced Climate Control Featherlight Styling Cream ) so a little can go a long way — for me, bc there is A LOT in this tub. One thing I can truthfully say with this brand is they really paid attention to the amount of product curls need and the value is THERE for the size and quality. PATTERN - Hydrating Mist I’ve tried many hydrating mists. I don’t give this one top marks though bc I just don’t like the smell. It’s too floral for me. It also hydrates I guess?? But idk how I feel about it — I haven’t found the perfect hydrating mist that helps tame the mane on my extra frizzy days. PATTERN - Hair Pick if there is one thing I CAN say about the styling tools is that auntie Tracee came thru with the qualiTEA! This pick is strong and comes with a velvety sleeve. You can tell they did the most with tools on this line bc the PATTERN - Edge Tool is also 💯 and pairs nicely with the PATTERN - Edge Control or even the OUAI - Matte Pomade PATTERN - Mist Spray Bottle this is also nice but the biggest difference is it can hold a lot more water. Maybe like 20% more than you can get from the ones on Amazon. THE RUNDOWN Value ✅ Quality ✅ Efficacy ✔️➖(it works fine it’s just not my favorite) Would I repurchase? Not sure. But there is so much product I honestly don’t know when I’ll even have to buy more 😂

Ladies one of our Curlfriend idols, Tracee Ellis Ross has dropped a hair care line for us girls with all types of curl patterns!! The line is called Pattern Beauty and she just released the Phase 2 launch of the line which has expanded giving us curl friends something worth talking about! I have tried all but one product from the line so this is my honest feed back. Today I will be talking strictly about the Phase 2 portion of the line. This part of her collection consists of a mist, two gels, edge control & styling cream. I think the fact that she has expanded is amazing because I was really waiting for the growth of this brand. Personally only a couple of the products worked on my hair. I liked the shampoo , conditioner, the mist, styling cream and the edge control. So let’s get into those products. *The shampoo has a lot of slip and hydrated my hair the way I like so it’s amazing and the smell is nice. Light but fresh smelling. *The conditioner is my absolute fav! I use the medium one and honestly it does wonders for my curls! Hydrates, conditions, and keeps my hair feeling soft after my wash. Smell is also very light and wonderful. *The hydrating Mist is great also because it gives the hair the moisture it needs to make the comb through process easy and manageable. Smell is similar to the rest of the products. So you’ll love it. *The styling Cream is very nice. It give my hair the soft texture it needs with the hydration boost. Helps to also make my comb through and brushing process easy for me. Smell is light but pleasing. *The edge control is AMAZING, with a capital A! I have tried several edge controls and this one is by far one of my favs! It gets these baby hairs in order and In Line honey and I love it! It’s definitely a must try item! *The Gels( meaning both) were not my favs. I love a good strong hold when it comes to gel and this didn’t do that for me! It also did not keep my fly always down. Not saying it won’t work for you just me personally, it did not. I recommend this whole line because it is worth a try and the message behind the brand and products is very inspiring for Black women and just women in general! I hope my review helps you make a decision! *Disclaimer- these are my own personal opinions and reviews. Each hair pattern is different and products work different for persons hair so I recommend trying all of her products until you find what works best for your hair type! Just have patience and know curls need love and require time. Keep going to you get your desired curls! #cheriepartner #beautywithoutbarriers Until next time beauty queens💕 PATTERN - Hydrating Mist PATTERN - Edge Control PATTERN - On-the-Go Kit PATTERN - Microfiber Towel PATTERN - Strong Hold Gel PATTERN - Curl Gel PATTERN - Styling Cream

Detangling Hair without Damage & Pain!
Just because we’ve grown out of our kids detangling shampoo doesn’t mean we’re any less inclined to getting annoying tangles than we were in our youth. Between trying new hairstyles, teasing for volume, and even just sleeping on our hair, we still need to address knotted strands once in a while. To save hair from damage and breakage when detangling, here are some tips to do it safely. 1. Use wide-tooth combs Choose your tools carefully, especially if you have fine or damaged hair that’s prone to breakage as well as tangles. Skip the hair brush and choose a sturdy wide-tooth comb to gently detangle dry or damp hair. PATTERN - Wide Tooth Comb 2. Condition with hair masque A good conditioner or mask helps to keep tangles at bay. It is ok to comb your hair in the shower while it’s wet. I use Maria Nila Pure Volume hair masque, a gentle lightweight treatment for fine hair that moisturises hair without weighing it down. It contains Vitamin B5 to add moisture and long-lasting volume. To use, coat the hair in conditioner or mask and let it sit for a few minutes, then use your wide-tooth comb to run the conditioner through your hair from mid-shaft to tip. This will help immensely to loosen knots, and it’ll also help distribute conditioner throughout the hair so that all your bases are covered. Hydrated hair strands will also be less prone to breakage and tangles! I use this masque at least once a week for healthy, silky hair. US$31 for 250ml Maria Nila - Pure Volume Masque 3. Start from bottom If you have been yanking hair with a brush or comb down from your roots to the tip, your hair will be more prone to breakage, split ends, and even hair loss. Instead, start first by combing the bottom few inches of your hair, then work upward, combing down as you go. 4. Use fingers Your fingers are your best friends to untangle knots in ways that a brush or comb just can’t. Gently pulling apart the tangled strands patiently will incur far less damage than simply combing through the knot over and over again. Once you’ve got it mostly undone, you can then spray on detangler and go in with your comb to smooth things out. I comb my hair with my fingers and only brush it when it’s almost dry.

Different detangling tools do different things
There are so many different ways to detangle your hair. There is a paddle brush, which is a large and flat brush with air cushions and plastic bristles. It is very flexible due to the air cushions that the bristles sit and and that helps contouring to your head and hair shape. Paddle brushes are great for detangling and smoothing out hair. Next, there is the wide tooth comb, which have large teeth to comb through the hair. They can be made from plastic or wood and are great for detangling and even parting hair. These are the most like fingers when it comes to detangling and cause less ripping compared to other methods. On the opposite end of wide tooth combs are fine tooth combs which can be used to detangle, but are less recommended because the fine teeth snag and rip hair. You can also detangle hair with a regular hair brush, your fingers, and other specialized detangling tools. For your edges, you want to brush them out with a soft edge brush or soft toothbrush. Also, you can comb them out with an edge comb or fine tooth comb but just be caution because edges are very fragile and require good care. I personally like going in with different detangling methods throughout my wash day and styling process. I usually start off with a quick detangling using my fingers to get out difficult knots that the mechanical tools may rip through. I then go in with the wide tooth comb and make multiple passes until it goes through smoothly. Finally, I use a brush (paddle, detangling, or regular depending on what I pick up) and go through my hair again until smooth. This usually ensures me the best detangling process. Also, it is important to remember to detangle only when hair is wet or damp and best when there is product applied to minimize breakage.

💛 MY HAIR & TEXTURE/CONSISTENCY 💛 This leave-in conditioner was so nice! ☀️ The consistency of this product was thinner than what I'm used to for a leave-in conditioner but it had a really nice smooth, buttery texture that was really easy to work through my hair 🌀 My curl pattern is a mix of 3b & 3c. My hair is drier at the ends because it's bleached and the rest of my hair feels pretty normal. Not dry and not greasy either! After washing my hair I plop with a microfiber towel and then apply this leave-in 💁🏽‍♀️ 💭 FUNCTION & FINAL THOUGHTS 💭 This leave-in smells A M A Z I N G 🤤 It didn't do much to help with frizz, but I live in Florida and there probably isn't a product in the world that can stand against the intense humidity we've got going on here. I liked it, but I didn't love it. If I used a regular amount of it it weighed my hair down really bad but if I used less than that my hair would be a crazy, frizzy mess. This leave-in just wasn't for my hair type sad 😞 ⚠️ Also, something to be noted is that for some reason my hairline and forehead would break out when I used this product so I think I may have had an allergy to it ⚠️ I'll give this product four stars just because it was really nice, it just wasn't for me. It felt way too heavy in my hair and I don't typically experience that with leave-ins 🤷🏽‍♀️ I'd recommend this product to anyone that maybe has a tighter curl pattern or anyone who has really dry hair because this product did leave my hair feeling so nice and nourished despite not working too well for me! ⛅️ This product is $25 for almost 10oz! It's a pretty hefty size compared to what I'm used to buying so I think it's worth a try! I'd love to see Pattern come out with a hair gel in the future 😊 PATTERN - Leave-In Conditioner
