Not so Ordinary 🩸💉🖤
So of course I had to checkout The Ordinary and I wasn’t disappointed! The packaging is super cute and straight forward, which I like. These two products are definitely great add ons and I’ll be checking out more from this brand. I hear good thinks about their “Buffet” hyaluronic acid. First off this product is so cool and definitely resembles blood just like everyone says 🧛🏻‍♀️ it’s fun to use but it also actually works!! I honestly wasn’t expecting much because it was only like $8 but after using it twice I definitely see a difference. It did start to tingle the last few minutes it was on but nothing I can’t handle. The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution This goes on smooth and definitely does help the faces general appearance. I haven’t had any breakouts since using this product and it’s also way cheaper then other similar products I’ve bought before. I gave it 4 starts just because it does have a chemical smell. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% All and all I definitely really like this company and the science behind their work, plus the price point is amazing! Can’t believe I didn’t check The Ordinary our sooner. Will definitely be ordering more from them. 🥀

skincare routine | nighttime edition 🌙
This is my current nighttime skincare routine, one that I have to use daily if not I definitely notice a difference in my skin get next day. After cleansing with my LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel , I tone my face with the DICKINSON'S - Original Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner removing any left over makeup that the cleanser may have missed. Next I follow up with the The Ordinary - Retinol 1% in Squalane which helps promote a youthful and rejuvenated appearance in the skin from the retinol, however it does make skin sensitive to sun exposure which is why I must use sunscreen in the morning. Then I apply the The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% which is both an oil control and acne treatment in one. For under eye puffiness or dark circles I use the dr. brandt - 24/7 Retinol Eye Cream which also contains retinol to reduce the appearance of fine lines and aging, as well as olive fruit to reduce redness. Lastly, I end my routine with the Neutrogena - Neutrogena Hydroboost Water Gel Moisturizer 50ml to seal everything in. This water gel is light yet efficient at retaining moisture and keeping skin soft. Xx.

Closed Comedones✨
Closed Conedones.. let’s talk ✨ I’ve had these my whole life! I’m 17F so still battling it. These products have worked wonders. I have always used The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution and it was the only thing that helped my skin for months, but not enough. So I’ve tried so many products and during a pandemic I took the time to do research and landed on the rest. With the The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% my bumps went away overnight last night, my first night trying it. And with OXY - Acne Medication With Benzoyl Peroxide it kept my acne from forming and keeps my skin clean, it smells like pool water but don’t let that fool you! They all worked wonders for my oily bumpy skin.

Well worth the wait
So after hearing all the hype about the ordinary’s glycolic acid I decided to try it for myself and since I’m new to using acids I will say that I was a tad bit scared 😂. I had read people’s reviews of them saying it was like hellfire on their face and it really stung and left their skin really dry, so when I was getting ready to apply it to my face I took a deep breath and hoped for the best and it definitely didn’t feel like what I thought it would. I don’t know if I have some type of super skin or whatever the hell but I barely even felt anything and my skin felt really hydrated lol. So I’m excited to keep using it and it was worth the wait and research that I’d done before I bought it The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution

Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Liquid: worth it?
Today I want to compare two exfoliating toners: The Ordinary’s 7% glycolic acid toner, and Paula’s Choice 2% BHA liquid. I’ve used both of these toners in the past. The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution This was my first ever acid toner, and one of my first acids. As with most of The Ordinary’s products, I think you get a lot of bang for your buck—7% of glycolic acid is a solid percentage, and at $8.70 for 8oz, it can’t get much cheaper. I’ve used this off and on for years, and I know I can always turn to it if I need some no-nonsense exfoliation. I haven’t been using it as much lately because I use tretinoin, so I’m trying to lay off the heavier-duty exfoliants, but I’ve even used it on the bumpy areas of my arms and it’s helped to smooth them. This toner does sting a little bit (not in a burning way—it just feels spicy on my skin), but it’s never been so uncomfortable for me that I’ve wanted to stop using it. I think it helps other products penetrate and absorb better because it removes any dead skin cells that are in the way. Long story short, if you’re new to acids, this is a great place to start: the formula is simple, the percentage is solid, and the price is unbeatable. PAULA'S CHOICE - SKIN PERFECTING 2% BHA LIQUID EXFOLIANT This toner contains 2% salicylic acid as the main ingredient, and green tea extract to soothe. I’ll be honest: I don’t love the way this toner feels when I apply it. It feels... oily? Greasy? I definitely was not expecting that consistently when I first applied it, and I’ve never quite gotten used to it. However, I love the way my skin reacts to this: while it’s never stung or prickled the way that The Ordinary’s toner has, I get smooth and glowy skin every time I use this. I think The Ordinary’s toner might be better for hardcore fading of dark spots, and this one is better for getting rid of texture and closed comedones. In the end, these are both good products. I think the Paula’s Choice is worth $29.50 for 4oz because it does what it claims to do, but The Ordinary’s formula is also very effective (and at a great price point). I would start with The Ordinary’s if you’re new to acids (make sure to wear sunscreen!) and while the Paula’s Choice has a different active ingredient, it’s also very effective and still at a reasonable price point.

I Don’t Believe In Skincare “Dupes”
You can’t “dupe” all high-end or niche products. This doesn’t apply to one-ingredient products like virgin marula oil. While the texture may be different, the end result is probably going to be the same for most folks. But multi-ingredient products like Drunk Elephant’s B-Hydra, TLC Framboos, C-Firma, and other niche products from brands like Paula’s Choice, Youth to the People- the main active ingredients may be the same, but the concentrations and inactive ingredients are different. As well, they may not have an active ingredient that the “original” product does. Let’s take these two. Often touted as dupes, I love them both. I used to use them both daily, actually, though now B-Hydra is my main hydration serum. The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 has HA and B5 as it’s two actives and I adore that TO utilizes multiple sizes of HA to draw moisture into different layers of your skin 💦 DRUNK ELEPHANT - B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum ‘s active ingredients include Hyaluronic Acid (both products use sodium hyaluronate, which is molecularly easier for skin to absorb) and Panthenol (B5, a hydrator), but also Niacinamide, which helps with controlling excess oil production. This key ingredient is what made B-Hydra so amazing when I struggled with oil overproduction. You can utilize the Ordinary’s Niacinamide+Zinc alongside its HA+B5 offering, but I enjoy that B-Hydra just has it already in it, as it makes B-Hydra a unique serum that addresses multiple issues common to those with combination/oily skin. As far as inactives go, both products include a variety of extracts, but B-Hydra bumps up its hydration offerings by adding sodium PCA in its ingredient list! It’s very well-rounded. So, is HA+B5 inferior? Not at all. I love it, and it’s an affordable, lovely hydration serum. I enjoy that the Ordinary does one- or two-note products because it allows you to truly personalize a skincare routine. But HA+B5 is not a duplicate for B-Hydra, the ingredient lists are very different even if they share two actives. It can be used as a substitute, but long-term results likely won’t be the same without supplementing the missing niacinamide via a secondary product. Saving money is A+, but evaluate *where* in an ingredient list you’re willing to budge before grabbing a “dupe”!

Everyday skincare shelfie
First post!!!! These are my favorite products that I use every single day. Glossier. - Milky Jelly Cleanser conditioning face wash I love how easy this is to use. It leaves my face feeling clean without stripped or dryness. The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 this is my favorite everyday ordinary product by far. I love how this makes my face feel and look after I put it on. I’m literally glowing. At such a cheap price I think everyone should give it a try! cocokind - glow essence with sea grape caviar I love cocokind!!! This smells so good and I love spraying it on my face after toner day and night. I don’t know exactly how much it benefits my skin - but I swear by it. I also use their night mask (will review later) and I’ve loved everything I’ve tried by them.

This or That:Eye pigmentation and puffiness
Eye candy: Guerlain Orchidee Imperiale Lip Cream & The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG     Guerlain Orchidee Imperiale Lip Cream I have to admit I have a soft spot for Guerlain, and for quite some time now. I wanted to try this lip and eye cream since my friend got it as a gift and said it is pure heaven. I’m a true believer when it comes to this brand, and I wasn’t wrong. I love the richness of this cream, absolutely adore the luxurious feeling on the skin. A little bit goes a long way, the skin feels well hydrated, plump and lifted. It’s quickly absorbed, and this is great. The area looks certainly brighter, like I had enough sleep (which I didn’t!). Don’t know about puffiness, I didn’t have issues with this in the first place. The price is ouch, there’s no doubt about it, but totally worth it.     The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG I’ll be honest with you: it took me forever to take the leap and order my first batch of The Ordinary products. They sounded too good to be true, not to mention so affordable 💖 The Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG was part of this first order. Actually, I got 2 of them, by mistake, but I don’t regret my decision, one I offered as a gift to me SO (it looks neutral enough to be used by men too!). I use the eye solution morning and evening, it is a light texture, not too thick gel. It spreads well, but it takes a few minutes to get absorbed. I usually wait 2-3 minutes before applying an eye cream over it. The area looks firmer, but I wasn’t blown away in terms of brightness. My SO says it did works of magic on his dark circles (I don’t have any). The downside is that it is not an eye cream on its own, more like an eye serum, so you should follow up with an eye cream. I use it in combination with my beloved Guerlain, and it’s a great combo!

Quarantine Glowup: Underarm Edition 🙋🏼‍♀️
A part of our body that we really tend to overlook is our armpits, especially in the wintertime. I have always been so self conscious about my underarms because they have always been dark and bumpy. During this quarantine time that we have, I am using it to get my underarms in shape for summer! The first thing I am doing regularly is using either a physical exfoliant (Frank Body’s Coffee Scrub) or a chemical exfoliant (The Ordinary’s Lactic Acid) on my underarms 2-3 times per week. Both of these are very gentle on the skin, but I still feel like both of them clear out my pores and help reduce the bumps. I am also trying to treat them like the skin on my face and moisturize my underarms EVERY day! I am using Gold Bond’s Rough and Bumpy Skin Lotion. I have used this for KP bumps on my legs for years and it is great for moisturizing and also providing additional exfoliation! Another thing I have started over this time is using a natural deodorant! I sweat a lot and struggle with odor, so this is a big step for me! There has not been a ton of research done on the topic, but I have seen some articles stating that bumpy underarms are sometimes caused by aluminum buildup. So I am switching to Kopari, which is a natural, coconut oil-based deodorant. I figure that the coconut oil will help with moisturizing my underarms as well! I got the original coconut milk scent and I am very pleased with it so far! The smell is pleasant and it feels quite nourishing for my underarms. I haven’t noticed an overwhelming amount of sweating either! I have only been following this routine for about a week now, but I am extremely pleased with all of the products I have used so far and I am excited to see the results in a few weeks!

The ordinary’s 10% Lactic acid+ Hyaluronic acid was Always a sold out thing at Ulta i had to wait for weeks to try this. Does this make you realize how people want it? 🥰 I always try acid before I buy so the moment I tried it tingled, & that tingling sensation made me get this immediately coz I knew it’s going to do something! Being the first time user of Lactic acid I had to start with the 5% (mild strength) but the moment I spot hyaluronic acid on the packaging I jumped to 10% 💫The product being a mild exfoliant tingles on skin each time I use it The 10% Lactic acid which is considered as high strength is combined with the amazing Hyaluronic acid and Tasmanian Pepperberry to provide the skin with hydration and reduce the inflammation caused by the Lactic acid. 💫I Do not use any other acids along with this (like glycolic acid toner or any other thing from The ordinary) 💫I wear SPF as this makes my skin too sensitive! 🌤 💫Mainly used for ~fine lines ~Textural irregularities ~uneven skin tone. 💫 The main purpose I got addicted to this is because of the Glow it leaves on my skin! Yes right. It leaves the skin with extraordinary glow and honestly I use it more than once a week only at nights for glow glow and more glow 💫💫💫 It’s a must try for any skincare lover

🌙 Secret to My PM Supple Skin! 🌙
I have combination skin so my t-zone is in the range of normal to oily skin and I have dry skin on my cheeks. My skin tone is warm ivory with a slight reddish discoloration in my cheeks 🧐I also have some freckles (sun spots) across my cheeks and my nose bridge (which bother me!). I also have very sensitive skin so I am alwyas cautious with new products or else my skin will becom super red and peel! 😭 Unlike my am routine (in previous post!), my pm routine is pretty constant and I only change one product in the fall/winter and sping/summer. The products that I use are double cleaners (if needed but I'll only include my second cleanser in this post), facial spray, skin conditioner (toner), two types of different serums and a moisturizer. All of the products that I have included in this review have been reviewed by me before so feel free to go read my previous posts to get all the specifics of the prodcut and how it worked for me! The second cleanser I use is theGlossier. - Milky Jelly Cleanser conditioning face wash to gently cleanse and refersh my skin. I use this as a second cleanser since it is sooo gentle and I feel like it is just good for prepping my skin for my skincare and it doesn't strip my skin of its oils 👌🏻. The next step is theMARIO BADESCU - Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater Mini I love this product! It has a fragrant smell, the formula is fabulous, and even though it provides such great hydration, my pores don't feel clogged after using it! Another reason why I like this product is because it does not cause irritation or breakouts on my sensitive and combination skin. It also provides great hydration for both face and hair so its extremly versatile. I then use thenaturie - Hatomugi Skin Conditioner which provides enough moisture despite its liquid consistency since it includes hatomugi essence which is rich in vitamins 💊 amino acids and protein. The three musts for tight healthy skin! The next product I use isThe Ordinary - ''Buffet'' This serum because it is good for dryness and I feel like I suffer from dryness more than oiliness. This produt is good for pretty much all types of skin: normal, oily, combination, dry, and most importantly, sensitive skin! Not only does this product help with drynes, it also claims to help with fine lines, wrinkles, dullness, and uneven texture. I've been using this product for about 2 weeks and I feel like its pretty good so far. I like how there is no fragrance and absorbs into my skin pretty well and preps my skin for the next step. Brightening serum and moisturizer. I mix theNeutrogena - Bright Boost Illuminating Serum wtih theCurél - Moisture Facial Milk . The illuninating serum leaves my skin feeling soft and suple with a slight glow ✨ to it but it doesn't really help with my dark spot (still use it thought to finish it). The facial milk is fragrance free and also alcohol free so it doesn’t irritate the skin at all! With only a few pumps my skin feels soft and hydrated 💧.

☀️ Secret to My AM Hydrated Glow Revealed!☀️
I have combination skin so my t-zone is in the range of normal to oily skin and I have dry skin on my cheeks. My skin tone is warm ivory with a slight reddish discoloration in my cheeks 🧐I also have some freckles (sun spots) across my cheeks and my nose bridge (which bother me!). I also have very sensitive skin so I am alwyas cautious with new products or else my skin will becom super red and peel!😭 Every morning I use different face wash and serums depending on how my skin condition is or based off of how the weather is! I always look at the weather to see how humid 💦 it is and where I live, the humidity level is almost always over 90%! Even though my routine may differ day to day, these are the main products I like to use the majority of the time. The outline of my steps are cleanser, serum, concentrate, moisturizer. I start off with theGlossier. - Milky Jelly Cleanser conditioning face wash to gently cleanse and refersh my skin. I feel like this product is super fit for using in the mornings since it is super light and not harsh at all. Since I wash my face at night already before my nightly routine (coming soon!), and I don't really do anything else that would dirty my face at night 🌚 so its good to use a gentle cleanser to wake up my skin. This product can be used dry to melt away dirt and makeup or used with water to refresh your skin. However, I did noticed that it did not remove all the makeup off my skin so I stopped using this product to remove things and just use it solely for a refresher. I heard that some people did not like the scent but I like it. It smells faintly like roses 🌹 which I LOVE. If you want a more in depth review on this product please read my Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser review that I posted earlier! I then useThe Ordinary - ''Buffet'' . This serum is a recent new addition to my skincare products and I'll touch more on why I switched to this serum in a future post (please look forward to it!). Since my skin is combination, it is really hard to find the right balance for my face since some parts become oily and some parts are so dry that it peels. I chose this serum because it is good for dryness and I feel like I suffer from dryness more than oiliness. Concentrate and Mosturizer/sunscreen. The concentrate I use is theKiehl's - Daily Reviving Concentrate I drop 2 drops of the concentrate along with my moisturizer and mix it and homogenize it in my palms. The concentrate is an oil so using this in the past, I made the mistake of using too much which caused my skin to break out (more details in te review I posted earlier). Now, I quite like this product since it does add an extra hydrating and brightening effect to my day. The moisturizer I use is theSUNPLAY - SKIN AQUA Super Moisture Essence SPF50 + PA ++++ . This product is a 3-in-one so it is super easy and nice to use for someone as lazy and on the go as me. It provides high-moistre, provides superior photo-stabel protection, and most of all, it protects against premature aging caused by UV rays. I love ❤️ the texture of this sunscreen since it is extremly watery and light which does not cause my skin to clog up or break out.
