Tools to Make Your Foundation Flawless 🌝
💕beautyblender - Classic Makeup Sponge Pink 💕 The classic foundation tool. It took me a while to understand how to properly use it but once I did it was life changing. Below I will give you my tips on how I use it and mistakes to avoid: How I use: Always make sure the blender is damp, I use to think you could use it while dry and you absolutely cannot (it will take you a year to blend in your makeup if you use it dry) Wash every use! This thing will you become a petri dish if you don’t wash it. I just use baby shampoo because I always have that at home. Replace every three months. This will ensure your blender is fresh and you’re not pressing bacteria into your pores. I use the beauty blender after I’ve covered my entire face with a foundation brush first. I then go back and use the blender for problem areas where I need more coverage. I feel like this saves me a lot of time and product. ✨IT Airbrush Blurring Foundation Brush✨ I love this foundation brush. I have been using it for about a year now and I really think it’s the best I’ve used. Below I’ll tell you why I love it: The bristles are super soft and also dense which feels great on your face and also helps with easily applying your foundation. Easy to wash. Again I use baby shampoo to cleanse. It truly does give an airbrushed finish. I do my entire face with this daily and it my makeup looks really natural and blended each time. I also feel that I don’t need to use a lot of product when I use this brush which saves money!

September Ipsy Haul 🦋
Hey friends! Just showing off my ipsy products that I just received in the mail. I’m super happy with them all! I used to subscribe to ipsy years ago and they were just *ok*. I got back into them last month and have really been impressed with the improvements they’ve made. Yes, the prices are a couple dollars higher now, but it seems the selection process and quality of products has greatly increased, so I’m not mad at it. They’ve also added the “Plus” and “Ultimate” subscription options, so I signed up for the regular bag and the Plus for $37/mo. This is my first time getting the Plus bag and I am soooo happy with the products I got! I might sell a few of them on my Poshmark store, but otherwise I’ll be keeping the vast majority of them. In the past, I found myself selling everything most months, so it’s refreshing to receive a good amount of exciting products. Thanks for stopping by! Remember to hydrate and check your WiFi 😘 I’ll try to tag as many of these products as I can: it Cosmetics - it Cosmetics CC+ Cream SPF 50+ beautyblender - Bounce Liquid Whip Long Wear Foundation REALHER - Confidence in My Glow Highlighter Maëlle - Clearly Brilliant Tinted Lips trèStiQue - Lip Glaze Limited Edition Set(closest I could find to the actual product) OFRA - OFRA Highlighter Shade: Covent Garden YENSA - SUPER 8 LIP OIL STARSKIN - Close-Up Coconut Bio-Cellulose Second Skin Firming Face Mask STARSKIN - Glowstar Foaming Peeling Perfection Puff
NEW HAULS - Which to Review First?!
So excited! To be receiving these two hauls that I ordered at different times BACK TO BACK is almost overwhelming, but I’m up for the dopamine challenge lol. One is from Sephora and the other from Socialite Beauty, an online Canadian retailer that sells both Canadian and American clean beauty 🙌🏽 I have been seeking the perfect gold eye shadow so that’s how I ended up with 3 palettes... And you know with online shopping, to qualify for “free shipping” you almost always have to add an extra item or two so here I am with an extra brown lipstick and an armpit soap bar. And looks like I’ll finally be trying Amika thanks to Sephora’s generous sample. Some fun facts: ⭐️ This is my first time trying Pat McGrath, so now I get to see what all the rave is about! ⭐️ This is like my 5th Aetherbeauty product because that’s how good they are! So what product should I review first?! 🥵

Beauty blender dupes ✨
The first makeup sponge I used was the beauty blender pro sponge. I loved it so much. I used it every single day to blend my foundations, blushes, and powders. After using it so much it started looking old and I realized I definitely didn’t want to spend $20 for a sponge. I started trying out so many affordable ones and lots of them didn’t work until... Real techniques miracle complexion sponge, when it’s dry it feels slightly stiff but still nice and soft to the touch. When you wet it it becomes super soft. It blends my foundation very well, similar to the beauty blender at a 1/3 of the price! One of my favorite sponges so far! $5.99 and I’ve found these at marshalls and tj maxx for about $3-4! REAL TECHNIQUES - Miracle Complexion Sponge Hank & Henry midori sponge set, I got this sponge set in my boxycharm and I really like it. The set had the large and small sponge. Slighter stiffer than the real techniques but a nice sponge. The small one is perfect for blending on the inner corners or any hard to reach area. The large sponge gets HUGE when it’s wet, great for apply blush in my opinion and anything you want. Even if it’s kinda stiff this is still very soft. Unfortunately online they’re sold separately $14.00 for the large sponge and $9.00 for the small one. HANK & HENRY - Midori Bundle Miss A AOA studio super soft wonder blender, one of the best really affordable sponges I’ve tried. It’s really soft and blends like a dream. Very very slight stiffness when dry but super soft when wet. Haven’t had any problems with this one. $1.55! I didn’t have mines with me so I attached a picture of it. AOA studio - AOA Wonder Blender Last and definitely not least the original beauty blender in pro, super soft to the touch and incredible at blending. The hype is real. $20 beautyblender - Pro If you want to spend $20 every few months then this sponge is worth it, super great! If you’re like me that prefers a more affordable one than these options are great as well. These all feel great on the skin, blend your makeup and at the end of my makeup routine I’ve found that these all look very similar and almost identical to each other. ☺️✨
Is this electronic foundation brush better?? 🤔
Long past are the days where you put foundation on with your hands. I’m so thankful for the many beauty tools we have today that help apply foundation evenly. For foundation I decided to test two very popular, and different, options. For manual we have the fan favorite beauty blender versus the Clarisonic foundation brush head for electronic. Manual versus electronic. Which will come out on top? First up is the beautyblender - Pro . This sponge retails for $20 which I find completely over priced. The sponge itself is very soft. The sponge applies foundation beautifully. It’s very easy to use as well! You wet it, ring it out, and bounce the product all over the face. The major disadvantages would be you have to replace it every couple of months and they can get dirty really fast. I’ve also had sponges rip on me in the past but that really depends on how you take care of them. They also have a tendency to soak up product more than a brush. Second up is the clarisonic - Sonic Foundation Brush Head . It retails for $39 which is EXTREMELY over priced in my opinion. The only reason I bought this was because Tati (on YouTube) has a promo code once a year with them where it’s only $19. It’s very easy to install into the Clarisonic. It pops in just like any other brush head. You turn on the Clarisonic and the device oscillates to help spread foundation over the face. Unlike a sponge, a brush won’t soak up as much product. My issue with this is it didn’t blend my foundation out at all. It just moved it around in one spot. I tried and tried but for the life of me I couldn’t get it to distribute the product over my face. They say it applies your foundation flawlessly in under a minute and I found this to be not true. Personally I think manual is way better in this scenario. The sponge is full proof, easy to use, and gives you a flawless base while the brush head doesn’t even distribute foundation like it’s supposed to. I think both are over priced but you can find cheap sponges where the Clarisonic brush head is usually always overpriced. Despite the fact that the Clarisonic brush head is meant to save time and make application easier it actually made it harder.

Easy (five minute!) makeup for ZOOM Meetings
Doing my makeup and feeling put-together is one of my favorite things, however I don’t always have the time or energy to be able to achieve a full-face beat every day. Soft and gentle glam, I use this look when I want to feel ~soft~ and glowy, but only spend minimal time on it. I start with NARS - Radiant Creamy Concealer which I use all over my face, spot concealing redness of pimples, around my nose and lips, tip of my nose, and between my eyebrows. This brightens and evens your skin tone without a full face of foundation. You can use primer if you want, when I do I use a blurring primer like TATCHA - The Silk Canvas Protective Primer or beautyblender - Pore Minimizing Primer which smooth skin and even look good just on their own. I set with BECCA - Hydra-Mist Set & Refresh Powder and then move on to my eyes. I use one eyeshadow palette with a few colors, two of my favorites are NATASHA DENONA - Mini Nude Eyeshadow Palette and EM COSMETICS - Limited Edition Divine Skies Eyeshadow Palette which have both mattes and shimmers. Important: they don’t patch! This makes blending a breeze. I put a neutral brown in my crease and outer V, then layer a dark brown in my outer v and smudge on my lower lash line. Adding shimmer is optional, but I usually do. For this I just use my finger and swipe on the lid. All powders for my face bronzer, blush, & highlight applied with one fluffy brush. I apply blush by pinching the powder brush in my fingers to elongate it to place product where I want— my fav is PATRICK TA - Monochrome Moment Velvet Blush which applies smoothly on all skin (prepped or not). I layer with benefit - Hoola Matte Bronzer in a 3 shape, and finish with whatever glowing highlight i feel like. In this image it’s OFRA - Nikkietutorials Everglow Highlighter Brow filling is optional, but brushing them up with a gel helps you look awake and youthful with little effort. Finish with mascara and a tinted lip balm or moisturizing lipstick like Glossier. - Generation G Sheer Matte Lipstick or EM COSMETICS - EM Cosmetics Lip Cushion and you’re ready to go in less than ten!
Flawless Base! Makeup for Your Skin but Better
Because I spend so much time and energy getting my skin to look even and glowing on its own, I want my makeup base to enhance rather than hide it. This is why light or medium coverage crème products are my go-to for a flawless base! I start out with a cleansed and moisturized face. If I’m going to be outside I’ll also go in with COOLA - Classic Full Spectrum 360 Sun Silk Drops SPF 30 (which I already have a post about!). It adds the perfect dewy base and has no flashback. I let it set for 15 minutes and then start my makeup. To prime, I use TATCHA - The Silk Canvas Protective Primer which is heavenly. It doesn’t clog my pores, and leaves my skin hydrated prepped and smooth for my next steps. If I know it will be hot or humid, I also go in with either thebenefit - The POREfessional Face Primer or thebeautyblender - Pore Minimizing Primer on my T-zone; more oily areas. Neither of these pill if layered with the tatcha primer and compliment it beautifully. Next, I go in and spot treat with concealer. I don’t use foundation! I start with NARS - Soft Matte Complete Concealer around my nose and lips, or any other red areas. I use a brush and pat it on the areas I want to cover, let it sit for a minute, and then blend it out with a medium concealer brush. This gives more coverage without having to layer more product! If I still have discoloration or a particularly red or dark pimple, I go over it with a smaller brush using tarte - Shape Tape Concealer as this is very high coverage. Again I let it sit, then blend. Another trick is using creme products to get that lit-from-within glow! For blush, I love Glossier. - Cloud Paint Seamless Cheek Color and liquid blush drops fromEM COSMETICS - Color Drops Serum Blush as both of these blend in effortlessly and look like your own skin! Both of these blushes set themselves without the use of powder. For Highlighter, Charlotte Tilbury - Beauty Highlighter Wand is the best in my opinion. It blends it without looking cakey or fake, but adds the dimension of face tune in real life! This also sets itself and doesn’t require power. If contouring, both KKW BEAUTY - Crème Contour Stick (I use Light 1) and the FENTY BEAUTY - Match Stix Matte Skinstick (I use amber!) layer well with the other creme products. I don’t have issues with patching or pilling, and I enjoy how both sit and feel on the skin as creme contours can feel heavy. When set there is no transfer. I set with BECCA - Hydra-Mist Set & Refresh Powder which I’ve raved about before. No flashback, and keeps the dimensions of the creme products. It doesn’t cake on, but adds another layer of blurring perfection!

all you need for a flawless face!
it can be easy to feel like you need a hundred products for a flawless makeup application—this is not the case! I have found I can get a perfect base and eyeshadow look with just these 5! beautyblender - Nude first and foremost, there’s nothing like the beauty blender. I’ve tried every “dupe” there is, nothing comes close! you can use this for your foundation, and because of the material and shape it never leaves harsh lines or marks. I ALSO use this for my concealer, so it’s really a great multi use tool! ecoTOOLS - Blending & Bronzing Brush this is my favorite brush for bronzing. because of the stippled bristles, it diffuses the product in a beautiful, natural way. my bronzer never looks too heavy or marked. my favorite brush!! wet n wild - wet n wild Fluffy Blending Brush wet n wild makes some of the best brushes i’ve ever used. they come in a set around the holidays and i also get them for the fluffy + highlight brushes. these absolutely hold their own against more expensive counterparts. if you haven’t tried them yet, do!! lastly, if you use powder blush, a simple blush brush is the final brush you need. that’s it! 5 products, a blended, flawless base. I have probably used over 200 makeup brushes at this point in my life. deciding on these 5 was surprisingly easy. the way I was able to narrow it down was the fact that all of these brushes are multi use. I’ve used the fluffy brush for both eyeshadow AND concealer. the bronzer brush is also wonderful for blush. the blush brush has been used for both highlighter and bronzer when I’ve been in a pinch. the beauty blender of course can be used for foundation, concealer, contour, and liquid blush. if you’re able to, always try to find products that are multi use!! I’ve challenged myself to use less products and these 5 make it totally doable! #cheriepartner #cheriecreator
Reasons to have a brush and a beauty blender for my foundation!
I believe we all have that kind of moment when we cannot find the makeup tool or there are just so many of them which make it hard to choose wisely. It is always smart to prepare two application tools for the similar makeup step and I have to say I really appreciate myself for doing that because it has saved me a lot of time. Also, using the same tool for a long time can wear it out more easily and quickly, and you may have nothing to use if you have just washed it. The most important step in my everyday makeup is foundation and that’s the one which needs two applicators for me, a makeup sponge and a foundation brush. It is important to invest in them since when you don’t feel like using one tool, the other one will save you from it. For example, when my face is dehydrated and even my moisturising cream can do nothing about it, I will use a wet sponge to apply foundation to prevent more hydration loss. A brush is more suitable when my face feels good and smooth with enough moisturising to provide a seamless, flawless foundation base. The sponge I use is from beautyblender, a famous makeup sponge brand. It is pricy compared to the drugstore sponge, but it is worthy. It absorbs a lot of water and is super soft on skin. My habit is to squeeze a pump of my foundation and put on my nose, cheek, forehead and chin and then use this beauty blender to gently press the foundation evenly all over my face. In this way, the beauty blender gives a light, comfortable foundation application. Also, when my face is a bit flaky, it will not make it worse like the brush. My way to use the brush is similar to a sponge, just to put one pump of foundation on my face and gently glide the brush all over my face. The different thing is that I only use it when my face is in a good state with no obvious flakes since the brush will hide some foundation under them and create some patches on face with uneven skin colours. My choice for the brush is Hourglass. The price of this brush is quite high, about two times of the beautyblender sponge, but I think it is worth it. It gives me a very nice feeling when using it, and it is easy to grab in hand with a chic style. The face also looks super even and natural, with no trace of foundation left. I like both of these two tools and they work so well on my face! I have to say they are great products worth the money.

RARE BEAUTY FOUNDATION REVIEW!!
Hey guys! I recently bought theRare Beauty - Liquid Touch Weightless Foundation and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!! Here's why: I picked the right shade which is 140C!! I had to play around with the shade finder on Sephora and took a tally to see which shade made sense, plus I picked one that matches my cool undertone. Super important to know your undertone! It's like BUTTER! 🤩💕 So smooth & easy to blend out It has a doe foot applicator instead of a pour and I like that because you can't spill it, plus this foundation goes a long way & the applicator holds so much foundation it's unbelieveable. The doe foot is really well designed and it's really flat, soft, and smooth and I don't have to dip it in the bottle that often to get more foundation which I'm surprised about. When you apply powder, it doesn't cake! It just becomes slightly drier and is smoothed out more. This foundation sets really nicely and when I wore my mask today not much came off and I was super happy about that. Also, I've tried foundations that got cakey before and this one does do a little bit to large pores, but it does depend on the powder you use - I've tried it with 3 and results were different. 🤷🏼♀️ But anyway this is a smooth foundation that gets better and is there to stay after you put it on. (it sets well with the URBAN DECAY - Full Size All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray Duo ) I have large pores and this product didn't make them seem bigger, it smoothed them out! So crazy to me and this foundation is worth it!! Things to consider: It reminds me of the Glossier. - Perfecting Skin Tintbecause of the formula and Rare Beauty - Liquid Touch Weightless Foundation is thicker so don't worry about not getting enough coverage 😂 I think it would be best on any skin type honestly, and I have oily skin and it didn't affect me throughout the day - 12 hr wear, so I think you should consider your skin type and what you use to set. The best tool to use is a sponge, since it's very liquidy and lightweight, so a brush would just soak it all up and wouldn't give as smooth of a finish. Stay healthy folks!! 💁🏼♀️🥰
Blush brush or beauty blender??
I love using different making tools for different products and looks. Recently I’ve been super into cream blush because it gives a slightly dewy effect. I got both of these products from sephora! One is the beautyblender - Original Makeup Sponge Applicator which is such an amazing product. Everyone obviously raves about it. It gives an absolutely beautiful and seamless finish. I like using this for cream blush if I want it subtle and diffused since I use a stippling technique to apply it. I got the blush brush from sephora also! It is the sephora blush brush #99. One of the best blush brushes I have because it is easy to use for cream blush AND powder blush. I love versatility. It has a fairly flat body but it tapers ito a bushy point almost. Perfect for applying to the apples of your checks. For the sake of blush and the versatility aspect I like using this more than the beauty blender! But if I’m traveling and space is an issue the beauty blender is such a great alternative to apply cream blush. SEPHORA COLLECTION - PRO Blush Brush #99 💋🤍 #cheriepartner
Comparing Sponge and Brush cleansers! ✨
SEPHORA COLLECTION - Detox: Deep-Cleaning Brush Shampoo I’ve had this bottle for a while and it definitely lasts but I don’t feel like it works as well and I find myself settling with “it’s clean enough” more than I’d like That’s why I even splurged on the refresh spray but even when using both products I have makeup on my brushes and sponges beautyblender - Blendercleanser Solid I got a mini lavender one with my points and FELL IN LOVE after one use It took if not all of my make up off my brushes and sponges i would say it took off 90% 👌🏽👌🏽👏🏽 Definitely worthy the money I went ahead and bought a few other beauty blender items and stocked up on the lavender solid cleanser I saw they have a non scented and feel like I would have gotten that if I hadn’t had the lavender sample already But the main reason I got lavender was because the scent is so light and I’m a non fragrance kind of girl but this is a clean brand so I’m trusting them
I love this beautyblender - Blendercleanser Solid because it really does a great job at cleaning all of your makeup out of your blenders and brushes. I do think a big downside to this product, would be the price. I think it’s a lot to pay for something that doesn’t last you a very long time, but I will keep buying it because it makes cleaning my brushes a very quick and painless process. 🙌🏼
Affordable makeup sponges!!
I just wanted to share what sponges I use for makeup. I use the ecoTOOLS - Perfecting Blender Duo (the solid green one is from this and the small one got moldy after leaving it under my sink wet and inside a bag for a few days after I forgot about it 😅) and the silvery one is the ecoTOOLS - Total Perfecting Blender -- they come in solid green and green infused with microbial silver. What I love about them is that they're very soft, they distribute product well, and they're not as expensive as the beautyblender - The Original Beautyblender, which are $20 individually. The two pack of the Ecotools ones are $10 and the silvery one is $5, which saves you a lot of $$. Which sponges to use for when: small sponge - concealer, cream blush, blending out small areas large solid sponge - foundation, blending out large areas, applying setting powder microbial silver sponge - sunscreen, thicker creams / liquids, some foundations Hope this helps anyone stuck on which sponges to get for their makeup routine! :)
Which sponge wins?
Are these sponges dupes for the beauty blender? NOPE. Beauty Blender still wins in my book. The only other sponge that I have tried that is just as good is the Real Techniques sponge. beautyblender - The Original Beautyblender It’s the OG for a reason. The most comfy to use. Has the perfect bounce and applies makeup with a flawless finish. Use it wet so your foundation doesn’t absorb into the sponge. $20 DOSE OF COLORS - Seamless Beauty Sponge I didn’t find this sponge “life changing” it didn’t perform significantly better than the Beauty Blender. It has a cool shape and can be a bit more precise than the beauty blender. I like to use this for setting powder, but that’s about it. Wet with water and squeeze out excess water. Use with powder, cream, and liquid. PARABEN FREE | LATEX FREE | DYE FREE | SULFATE FREE | PHTHALATES FREE | CRUELTY FREE $15 MAKEUPDROP - Hybrid Big nope! This sponge has a silicone side and a foam side. You don’t wet this one with water. The silicone sponge was just a phase and I’m glad it’s over... lol. This sponge brought out the worst in my texture. The silicone side was only good for spreading a small amount of foundation across the skin. The actual sponge side did not work well for me. I fortunately got this for $5 for a Birchbox and any more money than $5 and it would have been a waste of money. $20
Affordable Tools for an Everyday Makeup Look
Hi, So these are the tools that I tend to use for my EVERYDAY look. When I say this, I do not do contouring and do not include eyeshadow tools, and I tend to not use blush unless I go to work (been working from home since COVID, which is why I didn’t add the tool that I use for adding blush). I also mean that these are not the same tools that I use for a fuller (contouring, eyeshadow, etc) makeup look. The tools that I use for that are more expensive and definitely include many more tools. These tools have worked so far, so great with me, so I’m sharing them. ecoTOOLS - Full Powder Brush I’m defenitely thinking of buying other tools to try them out since I love their philosophy! ecoTOOLS’ products are completely vegan, and they are diminishing waste production by increasing the amount of material that is harmful with their introduction of biodegradable paper! This tool particularly feels sturdy and soft, even throughout the multiple washes that it has gone through. This is what I use to add colored powder, since the translucent or setting powder come with their own tool. beautyblender - BCRF I tend to use this to blend the concealer and for those regions that may need a fuller foundation coverage due to some dark spots. The sponge has been great so far, no complains whatsoever. The size is great and has lasted, even with the regular washes. e.l.f. - Selfie Foundation Blurring Brush I love e.l.f. due to the affordability of its products while still delivering pretty good quality! The bristles in this tool feel particularly soft and I do feel that it glides on to your face so smoothly! I do feel that part of the reasoning for why my foundation has lasted so long is because I have used it with this tool. A little goes a long way honestly! It also does give that seamless look!

Beauty Blender Pro 🖤
This is going to sound weird but I prefer the beautyblender - Pro way more than the original. I feel like the pro works better, doesn’t fall apart as fast, and doesn’t get as dirty but that’s all personal feelings. That being said I do really like the Beauty Blender. It’s the OG blending sponge. That being said I don’t think it’s necessarily worth it anymore. $20 for a sponge is really expensive! Honestly the original Real Technique sponges work just as well and they are $5.99. But if you have the money to spend I do really like the beauty blender and I think it does a great job creating a flawless foundation base! It’s very soft.
The beautyblender has been a staple in a lot of people’s collections ever since it hit the market. For good reason, it makes blending out cream products a breeze. I really enjoy a sponge to blend out foundation, concealer, and sometimes even powder! It really is a universal product. As much as I love the beautyblender, I have found drugstore alternatives that I enjoy more, and they cost less. For that reason I will not be repurchasing anbeautyblender - THE CROWN JEWELS Blender Essentials I do think there will always be a special place in a lot of people’s hearts for this product, because it was so revolutionary when it came out. I just think you don’t need to spend the money on it! 😫
beautyblender-THE CROWN JEWELS Blender Essentials
This Bounce Foundation from beauty blender is my absolute go-to when it comes to long-wear makeup for nights out and special events. I’m not a huge fan of full coverage formulas, but sometimes it’s just necessary and I’m so glad I moved beyond the bounds of my very comfortable comfort zone to try this bad boy. Somehow it provides extremely long lasting coverage, but applies in quite a thin veil over the skin? Not sure how it works (magic?), but I’m not complaining!

Beauty blender 🧿
This tool for makeup or This beauty blender is really practical when you are going to do your make up! It’s also very famous, it you hadn’t heard about this. It is a sponge that you add like a little bit of water and it grows a little bit. You can use this to apply your foundation and concealer to get like an unanimous make up and greater results. It’s not that expensive and it worths every penny
beautyblender-Original Makeup Sponge Applicator
Full Coverage Baby
I have found my new full coverage foundation and it’s a dream! This Bounce foundation truly has a bouncy whipped like texture that blends into the skin with their sponge really nicely, I needed about 4 pumps to get this coverage across my face and I love how I was able to build it up over my scarring too. It didn’t last as long as I had hoped, but I also fell asleep with my hand on my face near the end of my day. It didn’t pill up and Played well with the new Bite primer. The packaging is freaking adorable and not as messy as you would think. Overall this foundation really excites me. I saw Halsey use this and just had to have it! I’m so glad I picked it up since I now have my perfect foundation or those extra coverage or extra glam days! beautyblender - Bounce Liquid Whip Long Wear Foundation
