Forced to switch
FARMACY - GREEN CLEAN fl. oz - $34 (3.4oz) CLINIQUE - Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm Balm” - $38 (3.8oz) I’ve been using Farmacy’s cleaning balm religiously for awhile now. However, it’s been getting harder and harder to find this product in stores. It seems like it is never in stock when I need it, and when they are in stock, I don’t feel comfortable hoarding a lot because of how easily it melts when the weather gets hot. Because of the inconsistency of the stock, I’ve been forced to find an alternative product. That’s when I stumbled across Clinique’s cleaning balm. My Farmacy one just ran out and I was desperately in need of one, so I decided to give Clinique’s a try. To my surprise, it was extremely similar to Farmacy’s cleaning balm. The three main things that I look for when finding a suitable cleaning balm, is the products ability to remove my makeup, the texture, and how soft the balm is. The reason that I used Farmacy’s balm religiously is because of how soft the balm is and how well it was able to remove my make up. The texture was also nice, which makes it feel good when applied to my face. To my surprise, Clinique’s balm was all of the above, and it was able to melt into my skin and has an oily feel to it. Clinique’s bottle design is also superior in my opinion. The bottle is wider in radius and shorter in height, which makes it easier to get the balm out of the bottle when you are near the bottom. Definitely an A for bottle design.
Old vs New: Battle of the Cleansing Balms ✨
I work at a make up store so I wear a full face of make up 4-6 days a week. I’m a firm believer in the double cleansing method. It’s where you take a balm or oil cleanser to your face to remove all traces of make up and then go in with a traditional cleanser. With this method of make up removal/cleansing you’re getting everything off, cleansing your face, and providing yourself with a blank canvas for your skincare to work the best it can. ✨ The CLINIQUE - Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm has been a holy grail product of mine for at least 5 years now if not longer. It’s a hard balm that easily melts between your fingers. There is no scent to this product which I enjoy. I usually take a little bit, rub it between my fingers, and apply it straight to my face. This does an AMAZING job at removing all my make up. When you rinse off the product it doesn’t leave behind a residue or slippery feeling. It also doesn’t sting or make your eyes blurry. If it weren’t so expensive at $30 it would be the perfect make up remover. I decided not to repurchase purely based on price and the fact I wanted to see what else was out there. This brought me to the DERMA•E - Universal Cleansing Balm . For $13 you get almost the same amount of product as the Clinique. I saw good reviews on Ulta’s website so I decided to give it a try. Firstly, it’s A LOT softer than the Clinique. I’m not really a fan of the texture. It’s almost like a vaseline consistency. It also has a herbal rose smell that I’m not a fan of. It does do a good job of taking off my make up but it feels really weird on the face because of its soft texture. When you rinse it off there is a film left behind so you have to be very careful you get it all off. It doesn’t sting my eyes or make it blurry. I don’t think the Derma E is a bad cleansing balm and I will continue to use it til I run out but I definitely won’t repurchase it. It did a good job at taking off my make up but the experience wasn’t as pleasant as it is with the Clinique. I feel like I had to work with it more while the Clinique is effortless. I’m still on the hunt for a better cleansing balm! Please leave me a comment with your favorites ✨

Dupes, worth it?
As a person with extremely oily skin yet suffers inner dryness at the same time, I thoroughly enjoy Clinique’s Moisture Surge 72 Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator. However, it is quite an investment for me, so I discovered Neutrogena’s Hydro Boost Water Gel as a cheaper alternative. Below provides a comparison of the two products. Original product: Clinique Moisture Surge 72 Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator Price: $65 (50 ml) The Moisture Surge has a relatively thick and creamy gel texture compared to the Water Gel. It delivers an instant boost of hydration and helps the skin retain its moisture for a long period as evident by its name, 72 Hour Hydrator. I noticed that my skin appeared more plump and has a healthy-looking glow after application. This product is certainly more hydrating than the Water Gel, but it is not heavy on the skin at all. Another upside is that it worked really well under my makeup, helping me achieve that dewy look without caking up my face. Additionally, its formula is very safe for sensitive skins because it is allergy tested, 100% fragrance free, non-acnegenic and oil-free. However, it is in a jar-packaging, prone to bacterial growth because of direct hand contact and constant air exposure. Moreover, it is quite expensive, so not really student-friendly nor suitable for those on a budget. Nevertheless, compared to other department store and high-end skin care, it is not that expensive. Dupe: Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Price: $27 (50 ml) Clinique’s pricing led to me to Neutrogena’s Water Gel, and I am not disappointed at all, in fact, it became my favourite product of this brand. It comes in a thin, watery gel texture that disappears almost instantly into the skin. It feels more refreshing than the Moisture Surge, but not as hydrating. Moisture Surge’s hydration was also more long-lasting. The Water Gel lacks the power to lock in moisture in comparison. Therefore, I generally use this cream during summer times where it provides just the right amount of hydration that addresses my inner dryness but still keeping it lightweight for my oily skin. Conclusion: Personally, I choose Clinique over Neutrogena because I always notice a huge difference in my skin after using the Moisture Surge. It really hydrated my skin, leaving it soft and plump throughout the day. I believe that it works well for all seasons and skin types. Overall, the Moisture surge is a more effective and gentle product that is definitely worth the price.
✨What is it? A refreshing gel cream to give your skin the power to rehydrate itself. Delivers an instant moisture boost. Keeps skin almost twice as hydrated at the end of the day than it did before. It locks in all the moisture for an endlessly plump, dewy, healthy - looking glow. - ✨Key Ingredients Hyaluronic Acid, Activated Aloe Water, Caffeine - ✨My thoughts I have super dry skin and back in November I had just finished my other moisturizer and someone recommended me to get Clinique moisture surge. I really liked the texture, its super light weight, gel like and glides smoothly on my skin. It was great for keeping certain parts of my skin hydrated and dewy like my forehead and others. But my cheeks are very dry and I always felt like this wasn’t enough. After a few hours my dry patches would start to show and if I was wearing makeup it won’t look very nice. I would say this is for someone with normal to combination skin, like my sister she loved it, but for someone who’s dry this isn’t rich enoughCLINIQUE - Moisture Surge 72-Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator

Best eye, lips, and lids makeup remover
Clinique has always had a spot in my makeup bag - in particular, CLINIQUE - Take The Day Off Makeup Remover For Lids, Lashes & Lips . Allergy tested. 100% fragrance free. Denatured alcohol free. It dissolves and removes long-wearing and waterproof makeup, works especially well for waterproof mascaras too! It gently removes lids, lashes and lips make up without leaving the skin feeling greasy and doesn’t cause skin irritation. This is my second bottle over the past two years and I absolutely love this product and haven’t found a better makeup remover yet. Give this eye makeup remover a chance and you won’t regret it!
Really Takes it All Off!
Despite being an avid make up balm removing user, I don’t use them on my eyes. I use a good old fashioned eye make up remover and cotton pad. It’s much more gentle on my eyelashes and actually removes things more effectively. This remover by Clinique is one of my favorites though. It’s unscented and is great for sensitive eyes. It doesn’t require a lot of rubbing, and just takes everything off. It also works really well for stubborn matte lipsticks, which is great for cleaning them up! Multi purpose! I think I’ll buy the full size of this when I finish the travel size, but that might be a while because a little goes a long way. $9.50 for the size pictured. Clinique - Take the day off Cleansing Balm🧼
I really liked using this balm. It takes away all the make-up, even waterproof mascara! I melt a small scoop between mij hands and it becomes a little bit milky. A little goes a long way and I always double cleanse, so it doesn’t leave a greasy residue.
Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm 💕
The only make up remover you’ll ever need. This has become such a holy grail product over the years. I’ve repurchased this more times than I can count. This balm retails for $30 but a little goes a very long way. It has your typical cleansing balm consistency that melts into the hands. I honestly keep mine in my shower. I hop in, scoop some out, warm it up in my hands, and apply directly to my face, and then rinse. For his effective, simple, and easy it is I recommend this to everyone. It’s geared towards all skin types and is marketed towards make up removal (even stubborn liquid lipsticks!). This stuff gets everything off so easily. I think the only thing I don’t like about it is I can tend to go a little rough on my eyelashes but that’s probably more user error than the product. Once applied the balm turns into more of a milky consistency and all the make up melts away. I also don’t get that blurry eye feeling like I get with most balms I’ve used. For how easy it is and how little product you need I find this completely worth it. It targets all the make up and removes it flawlessly.

The holy grail of moisturizer 💧 I literally use this for the ends of my hair, a little in my hand cream and as my night moisturizer. A little pricey but worth it!
Clinique’s Moisture Surge
Product: Clinique Moisture Surge Intense Skin Fortifying Hydrator Price: $54 Product Claims: Clinique's Moisture Surge Intense Skin Fortifying Hydrator is a rich, oil-free cream-gel that plumps skin with 24-hour hydration. It instantly rehydrates and helps repair skin's moisture barrier over time. For very dry to dry combination skins. Product Target Concerns: Dryness and Dullness Texture/Consistency: Cream/Gel like moisturizer My Thoughts on Product: I originally tried this after my sister showed me it. She has oily skin and I have dry skin and we both love it! It absorbs nicely and really helps my dry skin. After just a couple nights I noticeably softer skin. It is a little on the pricey side but if you're having issues finding a moisturizer then it's definitely worth trying it. Recommend to Others?: Yes - if you have dry skin and have issues finding a moisturizer that works CLINIQUE - Moisture Surge Intense Skin Fortifying Hydrator

Oily T-Zone Reducer
I use this product as a primer only on my T-Zone. It comes in 3 different sizes, but this small $5 one is perfect for my needs. I use it once daily whether I wear make up or go bare face to reduce the shine on my nose and forehead area and a little goes a long way. The first bottle I got as a free sample with a foundation purchase 3 years ago and am just now finishing it up. The jelly has charcoal in it which is what helps reduce the shine but I was sold when the lady told me it would also help reduce the size of my large pores, however I don’t notice much of a difference in pore size when using this product.
Clinique Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly
One of my favorite moisturizers for oily skin is the CLINIQUE - Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly . It is a lightweight, water jelly that provides hydration all day. It is oil free, fragrance free, and helps strengthens the skin barrier. I love using this in the morning because I still need something on my oily skin but it’s very lightweight and doesn’t make my make up slide around. It absorbs pretty fast too. It contains hyaluronic acid which I love because it not only draws moisture into the skin but helps keep moisture in. I appreciate the fact it’s fragrance and colorant free. It’s not sticky and keeps my face feeling hydrated. I would highly recommend this to anyone with oily skin. The gel consistency makes it well worth it for anyone who needs something lightweight.

I have repurchased this lotion almost half a dozen time now and it never fails me. I have tried both the gel (for combo to oily - i like using this during the summer time) and the lotion (for normal to dry - which i like to use during the colder months). The gel moisturizer is lightweight and my skin just soaks in all the moisture, makes my skin feel so moisturized - i love it 🥰 I love using this underneath my base makeup as well as alone. I definitely think this moisturizer is worth the price and it is suitable for any skin type! I would recommend this product. I love the pump applicator as well. I rate this 5 stars 🌟 CLINIQUE - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel
Clinique Dramatically Diff Moisturizing Gel
This was one of the first moisturizers that I tried when I got into skincare. This was also one of the moisturizers that worked well for my oily skin. Notable ingredients: sunflower seed cake, barley extract and cucumber fruit extract - these all target the skin’s barrier Texture: lightweight gel, slight scent to it, absorbs easily into the skin, leaves a Demi matte finish Although this has worked for my skin I have found other moisturizers with better ingredients. CLINIQUE - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel 💕SKINTYPE: oily, acne-prone, texture at times 💕SKINTONE: medium warm 💕HAIRTYPE: 1a, dark brown colour, oily scalp

~ Clinique take the day off make up remover for lids, lashes & lips I would totally recommend,it’s really soft feeling and doesn’t stink or your face.❤️ I use it for mascara because if I just wash my face, then I’ll have a black eye which is not cute but with this,it’s so much easier and simple.😊 There stuff is really good, love there stuff my favorite makeup/skincare brand😍 CLINIQUE - Travel Size Take The Day Off Makeup Remover
Clinique’s Take The Day Off
CLINIQUE - Travel Size Take The Day Off Makeup Remover This makeup removing cleansing oil is my go-to for heavy duty makeup but it’s not included in my daily routine because I find it to be really irritating to my eyes - in my experience, it’s not the best for sensitive eyes. It’s formula watery and oil-based and it’s designed to dissolve long-wearing makeup.

Affordable makeup removing wipes
Clinique’s “Micellar Cleansing Towelettes” VS Estee Lauder’s “Double Wear Long Wear Makeup Remover Wipes” I usually use liquid or cream based makeup removers. However, I like to have some wipes available on those special days where I am super lazy and want a easy and effective way to remove my make up. Clinique – $15.50 (50 wipes) CLINIQUE - Take the Day Off Micellar Cleansing Wipes for Face & Eyes This wipe is fairly cheap and you get a good amount of wipes. The wipes itself are a little dry, so if you have sensitive skin like me, it may irritate your skin a little depending on how rough you are. This wipe does an amazing job at removing foundations. However, it does a pretty poor job at removing eye and lip makeups. Often times a few wipes are needed to remove eye and lip makeups, which can make you run out of wipes at a fast pace. I usually use this wipe if I am only wearing light makeup. With light makeup, I usually only need one or two wipes to remove all the foundation and any make up I may have on my neck. ESTĒE LAUDER - Double Wear Long-Wear Makeup Remover Wipes Estee Lauder - $22.50 (45 wipes) Double wear is a famous foundation collection. I use their foundation collection, so I purchased this wipe to help me remove those foundations. Thinking that because they were from the same collection, it would work well. However, it did not do a very good job at removing the foundation. Despite it not being good at removing foundation, it removes lipstick with ease. It was able to remove my strongest lipstick with only two to three strokes. With other wipes, I would have to use multiple wipes to remove the lipstick, but this one can get the job done with just one wipe. I’ve attached a photo showing how well it removes lipstick.

My Spring new makeup products🤩🥰😍
It’s approaching April, the weather is getting warmer. I really enjoy the spring sunshine. Since we’re suggested to stay at home to avoid direct contact with people, I have more time to dig into makeup looks. I ordered many new products online, including eyeshadow palettes, blushes, lipsticks, highlighters…all of them are super spring!!! Here is my favorite new eyeshadow and blush💕 It’s Charlotte Tilbury’s exagger eyes and CLINIQUE’s fig pop. Let’s start from the eyeshadow palette. Exagger eyes is very very pigmented and the color is super gentle and soft. It’s very daily and easy to apply. It’s long-lasting, too. It can make ur eyes really big, sparkling and exaggerate as its name. When I try this palette for the first time, my boyfriend says I look very pinky and lovely. Oh, I must recommend fig pop too! The shape of a daisy is very cute and reminds you of lovely spring as well. The color is sooooo tender, like milk tea. It’s very blendable and buildable. When you smear a little on your cheek, you’ll surprised at how gentle it makes you look! I love pair them together, as this combo can give me an ideal spring gentle look☺️They make me pinky, and most importantly, very cute and gentle. I think they will both be my must-repurchase true lovers! What’s your favorite spring eyeshadow palette? Please let me know.

CLINIQUE - City Block Purifying Charcoal Clay Mask + Scrub My absolute favorite exfoliator. I know it says mask but I never used as a face mask. This leave my skin feeling soft and get all the dead skin off. I have used many exfoliators but this is my favorite. It’s not too harsh on the skin so I think it would be good for sensitive skin. 100% recommend this product!
