🛸🪐Acne products that are out of this world!
⁣Hi lovely! Be sure to follow my Instagram for more content! @skincare_by_reba 😍 🛸 Let’s talk 𝐀𝐜𝐧𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬! 🪐⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ What are these products? Here we have SUNDAY RILEY - U.F.O. Ultra-Clarifying Face Oil& SUNDAY RILEY - Saturn Sulfur Spot Treatment Mask ⁣⁣ UFO oil is a “fast-acting, quick-drying, medicated oil that clears acne and blackhead-causing buildup and debris from congested pores for smoother, blemish-free skin.” Saturn is “a medicated spot treatment mask that clears up acne while preventing new blemishes from forming.”⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 𝐌𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬: Maskne has met its match with this combo 😍 UFO is a dry treatment oil, so it absorbs and dries beautifully. I typically use this in the morning as my first step after cleansing/essence. If my skin is feeling congested and I didn’t use UFO in the AM, I’ll use it followed by A+ at night and wake up to significantly improved skin! I incorporated this into my routine in September, and have found that the powerful ingredients have helped cure existing maskne and also keep future breakouts at bay.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Saturn used to be sold in a bigger tube as an all-over mask, but has been re-marketed as a spot treatment. Because the 10% sulfur can be drying, it’s recommended to wash it off after drying. I found using it as a spot treatment as my last evening step & leaving it on overnight is super effective without being too drying.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞: After the sticker shock of A+, these may seem more reasonable! UFO oil is $40/.5oz and $80/1.18oz. My .5oz bottle has lasted me quite a while considering how frequently I used it when I first received it. I was using it on average 5 days/week, plus using up to an entire dropper full at a time for DIY masks - and it still has lasted nearly 4 months. I bought the 1.18oz bottle to use next, because it is reimbursable through my FSA!⁣⁣ Saturn is $20/.5oz tube and I feel it will last me forever. Both are sold in the All About Acne Kit which is an amazing deal!⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘧𝘢𝘷𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘵𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘣𝘢𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘴𝘬𝘯𝘦?⁣⁣

I love this oil for acne! LOVE!
Thanks so much to @cheriefor sending this oil to me. I am absolutely obsessed and it is saving my skin right now. So a little background, my skin has been breaking out due to cold weather. Cold weather usually makes me react terrible and I get dry, irritated, acne prone skin. This oil has been amazing! It contains 1.5% Salicylic Acid blended with hydrating Milk Thistle and Cucumber Seed Oil to deeply moisturize and prevent drying! It penetrates deep and helps relieve congestion. It also doesn’t over dry the skin which is really amazing in cold weather. SUNDAY RILEY - U.F.O. Ultra-Clarifying Face Oil I am literally obsessed! If you suffer like me, I would highly recommend something like this. Do you have a favorite product in the winter?

Weekly Treatment Schedule
I have a set, written down schedule for all my treatments for the month, because I have a really bad memory and find that if I don’t write stuff down I tend to over use or under use the products. This is how my routine was all through 2020, and have had no problem so far. I use The Ordinary - Retinol 0.5% in Squalane 3 times a week, on Monday’s, Wednesday’s and Saturday’s. I’m pretty experienced when it comes to retinol, so I feel comfortable using it 3 times a week. This is also the only one of my schedules that isn’t set in stone. When my skin is feeling more sensitive, or is feeling very dry, I might only use this 2 times a week. I exfoliate using the YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Kombucha + 11% AHA Exfoliation Power Toner and the SUNDAY RILEY - Good Genes All in One Lactic Acid Treatment 2 times a week on Tuesday’s and Sunday’s. I usually use these on the same days, but again, if my skin is feeling sensitive or dry, I will leave out the toner and just use the serum. I use The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution once a week for 10 minutes, I use this on Thursday’s and Friday’s are my resting day where I focus on repairing and hydrating my skin. 📍= product was sent to me for free

Ingredients to Build your Routine Around
I am 35 years old with two kids. I have dry / normal skin. My top concerns are fine lines & wrinkles, preventing aging, dullness, and dark circles. When I started my skincare routine, all I knew was that I started to notice fine lines & wrinkles and wanted to buy new products for “anti-aging”. After a lot of research, here are my Top 5 Ingredients with proven benefits for 30s Skin: 1. Retinol Retinol is a powerhouse for wrinkles. It is a synthetic derivative of Vitamin A. It alters the behaviour of aged skin cells. It smooths skin texture, enhances radiance and treats aging. Retinol can be irritating to skin, so build up your tolerance gradually starting with a lower percentage and only 1-2 days per week. DRUNK ELEPHANT - A-Passioni Retinol Cream Murad - Ready, Radiant, Retinol SKINCEUTICALS - Retinol 0.3 SUNDAY RILEY - Luna Sleeping Night Oil If you need an alternative to retinol because you have sensitive skin or you are pregnant or breastfeeding, bakuchiol is a good plant-based all natural alternative to retinol or rosehip oil is high in Vitamin A. HERBIVORE - Bakuchiol Anti-Aging Serum BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Phyto-Retinol Serum The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil 2. Vitamin C A potent antioxidant that helps reduce skin inflammation, irregular pigmentation, and promotes healthier collagen production. It neutralizes free radical damage and great for AM routine. DRUNK ELEPHANT - Time to Wake Up Duo SUNDAY RILEY - CEO 15% Vitamin C Brightening Serum SKINCEUTICALS - C E Ferulic With 15% L-Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C Serum VERSED - STROKE OF BRILLIANCE Brightening Serum 3. Exfoliate / AHAs Exfoliation is about boosting cell turnover. You should do it twice a week. Use different acids like lactic acid and glycolic acid. Build up a tolerance. You can use toners, serums, or creams. Kate Somerville - Liquid ExfoliKate Triple Acid Resurfacing Treatment SUNDAY RILEY - Good Genes All in One Lactic Acid Treatment The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA FARMACY - Honeymoon Glow Serum 4. Peptides Peptides preserve and boost collagen production. Peptides are short chain amino acids that act as building blocks for proteins such as collagen. It improves the appearance of firmness and wrinkles. Extensive research supports that peptides improve skin function and appearance. The Ordinary - ''Buffet'' OLAY - Wrinkle Correction Serum with Vitamin B3+ Collagen Peptides PAULA'S CHOICE - Peptide Booster 5. Hydration In your 30s your skin tends to get dehydrated. Hydration will plump up skin. Add a hydrating toner, facial spray, hyaluronic acid serum. The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 **BONUS** SPF Never forget you sunscreen ☀️

🌙 Luna Sleeping Night Oil 🌙
Follow my skincare Instagram for more content! @skincare_by_reba 😍 🌙 Let’s talk 𝐑𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐥 𝐎𝐢𝐥𝐬! 🌙⁣ ⁣⁣ 𝗪𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭? This is SUNDAY RILEY - Luna Sleeping Night Oil SR’s site describes it as a “next-generation retinol oil that boosts the look and feel of skin plumpness, while improving the appearance of wrinkles, redness, and pores for visibly younger-looking skin.”⁣ ⁣ 𝐌𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬: I. Love. This. Oil! I started off with a sample size (from the Multivitamins Kit) and it didn’t take me long to order the full size so I wouldn’t be without. Not only is the blue color stunning, it also smells amazing! I love the way it feels when I massage it into my face and it absorbs so wonderfully. I think it lives up to all of its claims - my skin improved so much after adding this to my PM routine. 𝘐 𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘰𝘪𝘭 𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘯𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘪𝘴 𝘬𝘯𝘦𝘸 𝘵𝘰 𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘰𝘭𝘴, because it is super gentle. It was a great way for me to introduce retinol before going for A+, which my next post will be about!⁣ ⁣⁣ 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞: This is $55 for .5oz, or $105 for 1.18oz. The .5oz lasted me 𝘯𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘺 𝟼 𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘩𝘴 with an average use of 4-5 nights per week (about 100 uses). For me, one use is usually 4 drops - one on each cheek, one on my forehead and one on my nose or chin. I am not shy with my usage and it still lasted way longer than I anticipated. I think the price is absolutely worth it. If you’re wanting to try it before spending that much, SR sells a sample size in a TON of their kits!!⁣ ⁣ 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵’𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘧𝘢𝘷𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘰𝘭?

🧡 FAVORITE Vitamin C Product 🧡
⁣Don’t forget to check out my Instagram for more content! @skincare_by_reba 😍 🧡 𝐋𝐞𝐭’𝐬 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐕𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧 𝐂 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐮𝐦𝐬! 🧡⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ 𝗪𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭? Meet the boss, SUNDAY RILEY - CEO 15% Vitamin C Brightening Serum This serum is “targeted to quickly fight the look of dullness, dark spots, and discolorations at the source, while diminishing the signs of premature aging. Skin looks firmer and plumper, as youthful skin bounce and even-tone are restored.” ⁣And again featuring SR’s blue hearts bubble wrap that I just can’t get enough of! ⁣ 𝐌𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬: For once, I can say I tried several other Vitamin C products before ultimately coming back to this one. I promise I don’t have blind loyalty to SR! 😂 I started with Pixi to get used to Vitamin C at a good price point. Then I tried CEO in a kit my mom got me for my birthday (which ended up being the starting point for my SR obsession). Once that bottle was gone, I wanted to try something else just because there are so many Vitamin C products out there! I tried Drunk Elephant’s C-Firma and wasn’t impressed - it was way too tacky for my liking. I also tried Ole Henriksen’s Truth Serum for a while, which I liked but still found myself itching to get back to CEO. ⁣ ⁣ One thing I really love is that it is a creamy serum, and is so hydrating for my skin that I often don’t need to follow with moisturizer! Some people really like the clear, orange, sticky Vitamin C serums on the market but for me, CEO is the one. It literally makes me glow, and has helped immensely with some PIH I have. I love it so much that I’ve recently added a Vitamin C night to my PM routine so I never go a day without this baby ☺️⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞: The price point is identical to A+ at $85/oz or $122/1.7oz. If you are wanting to try this product without the commitment to the price tag, I encourage you try it out in one of SR’s kits first! Bright Young Thing is the kit I got for my birthday last year, and it was a perfect intro to the brand for me!⁣ ⁣ 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵’𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘧𝘢𝘷𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘝𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯 𝘊 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘶𝘮??

Hormonal/Cystic Acne approved - They WORK
If you know me, you know The Ordinary is my first favorite brand and Sunday Riley is always competing hard with it to be on my Faves list. I am obsessed with these picks from them. I have my reasons to love this brand these products. Being Acne prone and dealing with a lot of skin texture, dullness and hyperpigmentation I always am looking for products that 'work'! No BS simply work, and these products work for me. I have seen dramatic changes in my skin when I use these. I'm going to order these from the most effective and my favorites to the least! Sunday Riley was one brand which was hell expensive for me but on the other side they worked really well. I don't purchase them often as I purchase TO, but whenever I can I don't rethink. If you want products that work these are the ones: 1. A+ Retinoid SUNDAY RILEY - A+ High-Dose Retinol Serum - This is my most favorite and most picked one from Sunday Riley. Guys, take my word on it this stuff is amazing. I love retinol and I know my skin responds in a certain way when I apply Retinoids. So, if some retinoids don't show the expected results I know they're not the ones for me. This Retinoid made my skin so soft, supple and healthy while taking care of those stubborn Hormonal cystic acne. Also, it exfoliates amazingly and reduces the look of PIH. ✨Exfoliates well ✨Reduces look of fine lines and wrinkles ✨Reduces Hyperpigmentation (PIH, Melasma) ✨Brightens and tightens skin ✨Makes skin soft and reduces irregular texture 2. Tidal SUNDAY RILEY - Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream - This is second most loved product from SR. It's because it has Alpha Arbutin in it. Alpha Arbutin is an amazing brightening Anti-Oxidant that slows down the melanin production leading to reducing hyperpigmentation. This cream is actually a lightweight gel that gets absorbed in skin quickly and I have experienced a brighter, healthier skin with it. ✨Brightens complexion ✨Reduces Hyperpigmentation, slows down melanin production ✨Gel like texture doesn't sit heavy on skin ✨You can mix L-ascorbic powder or any vitamin C serum with it to boost it's brightening effect. 3. Vitamin C SUNDAY RILEY - C.E.O. Vitamin C Rich Hydration Cream - I love this cream in winters because of it's thick but hydrating texture. Love this cream as it's an amazing moisturizer for daytime regimen. ✨ Relatively thick and creamy ✨Hydrates skin ✨Reduces hyperpigmentation ✨Tightens skin and makes it plump ✨Lasts long because you only need a pea size with it 4. Lactic acid SUNDAY RILEY - Good Genes Glycolic Acid Treatment - This is an amazing product for someone who is new to AHAs and chemical exfoliation. It exfoliates skin in a very gentle way and doesn't irritate skin. I like the creamy, lightweight formula that is equally effective as serum or toners. ✨Mildly exfoliates ✨Doesn't irritate skin ✨Creamy formula that doesn't feel heavy ✨Makes skin softer and reduces texture in just one use ( Mainly because of Lactic acid/ AHA) 5. Martian SUNDAY RILEY - Martian Mattifying Melting Water-Gel Toner - This toner has an interesting formula, it comes out as foamy gel into watery toner when it touches skin! It's amazing. It's a great product for acne prone skin and people with active acne. It has Bentonite clay, green tea, witch hazel, and marshmallow extract helps chill out redness, reduce excess oil, and tighten pores. ✨ Matte, shine-free finish ✨Slightly cooling and soothing when applied ✨Reduces the redness and inflammation ✨Reduces skin irritation ✨Use this after Thermal water and you'll find it more soothing ✨Witch hazel in this formula doesn't work as astringent and doesn't strip skin.

Help sort out my routine for late 30s skin
Hi all! Welcome to skin in your late 30s. I am 37 and am at that wonderful crossroads between younger and older skin, meaning that I still get monthly hormonal jawline acne, have an oily t-zone... yet also the beginnings of wrinkles, plus large pores and dark spots from acne scars and sun damage. I have a number of products that I have been using but it’s been a little random as to when I use them. I also just got some direct acids and I’m looking for direction on when to use them in my routine. Here’s what I have: Cleansers innisfree - Jeju Volcanic Pore Cleansing Foam DERMA•E - Anti-Wrinkle Cleanser Kiehl's - Midnight Recovery Botanical Cleansing Oil AM toner SUNDAY RILEY - Martian Mattifying Melting Water-Gel Toner PM toner The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution Eye cream BURT’S BEES - Renewal Smoothing Eye Cream Looking for recs! Serums / Treatments / Acids The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% The Ordinary - Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10% The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA THE inkey LIST - Q10 Antioxidant Serum SUNDAY RILEY - Luna Sleeping Night Oil Masks and peels The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution Several mud based masks- Mudmasky, Generation Clay Moisturizers Embryolisse - Lait-Crème Concentré Limited Edition London THE inkey LIST - Multi-Biotic The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil PAULA'S CHOICE - Clear Oil-Free Moisturizer philosophy - Purity Made Simple Oil Free Mattifying Moisturizer And since I know pores are an issue for me I also have other Inkey products I haven’t tried yet in the THE inkey LIST - The Pore Wonders Set I really like a lot of these products but I don’t feel I am putting them on in the right order. I also think I may be missing something to really help with my dark spots? Any advice? Thanks!!

night night routine
My night time skin care roitine is a ritual. It's my "It's time to decompress, remove the day and transition to a relaxing evening" time. I start by using my micellar water and baby washcloth and remove me eye and facial make. Then, I wash my face with my Cetaphil face wash. After patting my face dry, I pat on some Revolution Bakuchiol Serum. Then I move on to the Revolution Hyaluronic Acid. After that, I get a drop of Revolution Targeted Under Eye Serum with Caffeine and Hyaluronic Acid and tap it under my eyes. Then I use Revolution Collagen Skin Firming Solution on my face. After that it's Revolution Niacinamide Blemish Refining and Moisturizing Serum. Then, I moisturize some more with CeraVe PM Ultra Moisturizing Lotion and finish off with a sample of Sunday Riley High Dose Rentinoid Serum. After that, I am finally ready to lay down for the evening and go to bed. Final thought, you probably don't need a complicated skin routine at night. and certainly, have a less complicated one on standby for those nights when you just can barely put one foot in front of the other. As my mom used to say....night, night, don't let the bed bugs bite. GARNIER - Micellar Water Facial Cleanser Sensitive Skin I love, love, love this stuff! it's gentle on my skin. It takes off the toughest mascara without irritating my eyes. I use it as a pre cleanser before washing my face. Cetaphil - Daily Facial Cleanser While I use this every night, I am only using it until I finish the bottle. I am not crazy about the scent and there is a slight sting on my cheeks when I first lather the product on my skin and I am not fond of that feeling. REVOLUTION - 2% Hyaluronic Acid Serum REVOLUTION - Targeted Under Eye Serum 5% Caffeine REVOLUTION - 15% Niacinamide Serum REVOLUTION - Skin Firming Solution Stabilised Active Collagen Serum I've enjoyed all of the products I purchased from Revolution, they will all be empties. I am going to try The Ordinary next but the price comparison is about the same. DIFFERIN - Dark Spot Correcting Serum I haven't noticed a bit of difference since using this. how long do you have to you this before you notice your spots lightening?SUNDAY RILEY - A+ High-Dose Retinol Serum

💙 Powerful but Gentle Retinol! 💙
Follow my skincare Instagram @skincare_by_reba for more content! 🥰 💙 Let’s talk 𝐑𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐥 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐮𝐦𝐬! 💙⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ 𝗪𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭? This is SUNDAY RILEY - A+ High-Dose Retinol Serum! SR’s site describes it as an “advanced-strength retinoid serum that delivers a 6.5% solution of stabilized retinoid blends and botanical, retinol-alternative extracts into the skin.” See my IG post for the breakdown of the retinoid blend & other key ingredients! ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 𝐌𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬: I know you’re all probably waiting for me to say I don’t love a SR product, but I’m sorry...𝘐 𝘧𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘵𝘰𝘰 🥰 after using a Pixi retinol serum for a couple months and then switching to Luna (see my review in an earlier post!), I finally added this higher percentage of retinol to my routine in September. I think it was a HUGE contributor to the amazing results I saw in just over 2 weeks after switching to an almost entirely SR routine (scroll way back in my feed to see my before/after for that!). Every morning after I use this I wake up to super soft, even-toned skin. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ If you’re new to a higher dose retinoid, try layering a hydrating oil first for a more gentle experience with A+. Start with two nights on, two nights off and build from there. Once your skin has adjusted, you can use A+ nightly (if desired), and I like to layer Luna on top for a bonus dose of retinol goodness! This serum, like all SR products, plays very well with others in the line. I layer A+, Luna, and Good Genes on many nights and have never had an issue! Of course, I have very tolerant skin so make sure you do what works best for 𝘺𝘰𝘶!⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞: The price is steep with this one, as it is with a lot of high-quality products. It’s $85/1oz or $122/1.7oz. I just finished up my 1oz bottle that I bought in mid-September, so it lasted me about 3.5 months with usage of 4-5 nights/week. I’ve cut back on that recently as I’m trying to rotate more products into my evening routine (like Vitamin C), and I used a solid 1.5-2 pumps with every use. If you just use 1 pump and less frequently, it’ll last you way longer! I just received my 1.7oz (just in time!) which I bought in the Power of Three kit — great savings that way on 3 serums I use all the time! ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵’𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘧𝘢𝘷𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘩𝘪𝘨𝘩-𝘥𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘰𝘭?

Skin Update ✨✨
Okay this is a totally non filtered sun photo of my skin. Still working on minor texture this is due to my new skin routine (I posted about my morning and will post my night). I try and show my skin with new routines and products I use because I get so many ! The number one thing I will say is be consistent! I saw a post from @MelaninSkinCareAddict(great post you should go check it out) and I loved it and it inspired me to show results from some advice she saw. My last skin update was 12/22 which I showed a unfiltered close up of my skin and the breakout I had endure out of the states! I will say for texture, hyperpigmentation, and acne you need: effective vitamin C serum- should have vitamin E (tocopherol), hyaluronic acid, and Ferulic acid insta natural - Vitamin C Serum Mad Hippie - Vitamin C Serum retinol- DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel is my first go to, but now I use The Ordinary - Retinol 0.5% in Squalane GLOW RECIPE - Avocado Melt Retinol Sleeping Face Mask (I use this on nights I don’t use The Ordinary retinol oil .. 2xs a week) cleanser made for you skin: should be tailored and effective my current faves: Murad - AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser (2x week) COSRX - Low PH Good Morning Gel Cleanser (only when I oil cleanse) (3xs a weeks when I wear my night mask) PEACH & LILY - Power Calm Hydrating Gel Cleanser (mostly for nights) toner: a great toner will be your friend! This is important for removing dirts and oils. If you wear makeup this is a necessity. PAULA'S CHOICE - Enriched Calming Toner Murad - Clarifying Toner innisfree - Jeju Lava Seawater Lotion sunscreen: at least spf30 TULA SKINCARE - Daily Sunscreen Gel Broad Spectrum SPF 30 ELEMIS - Daily Defence Shield SPF30 moisturizer: a great moisturizer is your friend! So my faves fresh - Lotus Anti-Aging Night Moisturizer at night SUNDAY RILEY - Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream during the day for hyperpigmentation before sunscreen ✨✨✨✨ Other things I love that have helped COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence I use this day and night after my toner. If you neee hydration this is my current go to! SUNDAY RILEY - U.F.O. Acne Treatment Face Oil I now use this on days I don’t use my vitamin C in the morning. PEACH & LILY - Glass Skin Refining Serum This has replaced my niacinamide from The Ordinary. If you want glass skin use this consistently! CLARISMA - Namaste Glow Energizing Face Mask I use this as my daily face mask once a week. I will be posting my detailed night routine soon as I’m redoing my entire on IG 🥰🥰

Sunday Riley’s Tidal is a Hot Mess
Where to start... I wanted to love this. I really, really did. But boy, this disappointed me! First, the good news: thankfully, I bought this at a discount through Ipsy, rather than at full price. And... the packaging is pretty. The rest, ladies, is pretty bad. This water cream is supposed to have a brightening effect. I can’t speak to whether it is effective at brightening or addressing discoloration, because I just could not wear this consistently. I tried. Really, I did. It has an odd scent that I can’t quite define. Whatever it is... it smells funky. If the product were effective, I could overlook this. This cream pills like crazy! Few products have ever caused such pilling for me. Like, SO bad. I have fairly sensitive skin (ever since I started using retinoids). But I can tolerate most products. There is something in this that caused irritation for me. It’s possible that this may not be the case for you, but for those with sensitive skin, be careful! Instead of a nice, refreshing “water” feel, my skin became red, hot, and irritated for the first few seconds. This dissipated quickly. It doesn’t really absorb. It feels greasy, rather than lightweight and hydrating. Yuck! I even tried to use this on my body (since my facial skin was sensitive), and I couldn’t stand it. It pilled, and it never absorbed. I’m not crazy about jars for sanitary reasons, so even though the packaging is beautiful, it’s not functional. So, while this cream does pack some decent ingredients, the formulation does not work for me at all... and it has irritating fragrances (yet smells funky!). Save your money and ditch this. SUNDAY RILEY - Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream (Check out LANEIGE - Water Sleeping Mask instead. Review coming soon) Has anyone tried Peter Thomas Roth’s cloud cream? That is next on my list 😍

My Beauty Year in Review
I think everyone can say 2020 has been a challenging year, but with lots of opportunity for growth. In February I had my daughter. 4 weeks later Ontario was locked down, everything but non-essential businesses were closed, including schools & daycares, so I had my 3 year old son home and 4 week old home with me with no support (no grandparent visits, drop-ins etc). And, what started as a 3 week lockdown turned into months. I’m not going to lie it was difficult at first. I was exhausted. It felt like I had no time for myself. I was going from when they woke up at 6:30am till bedtime at 8:30pm (plus night feedings 😴) But we’ve adjusted to this “new normal” and the biggest blessing of this year was the arrival of my daughter and all the extra time with my family. The picture on the top right is what pushed me to start my skincare journey. It was a good day. I started carving out “me” time by going for a run, but when I looked at the picture all I saw was my crows feet and how tired I looked. I had the CLINIQUE - 3-Step Introduction Kit for Drier Skin (Type 2) in my cupboard, but have to admit I was rarely using it. Sometimes using the cleanser in the shower. Grabbing the lotion if my skin felt dry. I wasn’t wearing any makeup. I wasn’t taking care of myself. I decided I wanted to buy some anti-aging skincare because I wasn’t ready for wrinkles. And I decided it was okay to spend money on myself. I turned to Clinique because it was the brand I had always used. I ordered: CLINIQUE - Smart Custom-Repair Serum CLINIQUE - All About Eyes Later this fall when I was running low I started researching more about skincare and stumbled upon Cherie 🍒 This has been a great resource, teaching me what I should incorporate into my routine (i.e., Vit C, AHAs), and reading honest reviews. I now look forward to my AM & PM routine. I’ve started doing a quick 5min make-up routine (see previous post), and found a creative outlet posting here about my journey. The bottom right picture is recent. I am would say I am just as tired as the other pictures (my baby still is getting up every 3hrs at night!), but I’m taking care of my skin and I feel much better about myself. Skincare has become my self care this year! Here are a couple new products I discovered and loved: SUNDAY RILEY - Good Genes All in One Lactic Acid Treatment You really see your face brighten & get smoother before your eyes! SUNDAY RILEY - C.E.O. Glow Vitamin C + Turmeric Face Oil Loved the wake me up scent & morning glow The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil I wake up with my skin feeling soft & rejuvenated

Sunday Riley Empties!
I freaking love this brand! Their marketing, packaging, and products continue to impress me as I try new things. SUNDAY RILEY - C.E.O. Glow Vitamin C + Turmeric Face Oil probably the least favorite product I’ve tried from Sunday Riley. I mainly just didn’t feel like it sunk into my skin, and left me oily, which is something I definitely don’t want in the mornings when I am applying vitamin C. SUNDAY RILEY - Ceramic Slip Cleanser just meh. Don’t love the consistency or color (like a murky gray color??) it was fine as a cleanser, but I didn’t find anything special about it. SUNDAY RILEY - Ice Ceramide Moisturizing Cream this stuff is good, just a little heavier than I tend to use. I know ceramides are great for retaining skin moisture, but since my skin leans oily, it just was a bit much for me! I like the consistency and clean feel though! SUNDAY RILEY - C.E.O. Vitamin C Rich Hydration Cream I love this stuff!!! Favorite vitamin c product I’ve tried so far. It works great as a morning moisturizer in the morning, and sinks in to my skin great as a base for my makeup!! Big fan. SUNDAY RILEY - Good Genes All in One Lactic Acid Treatment there’s nothing I can say about this stuff that hasn’t already been said by everyone else. I truly saw a difference in pores, brightness, and just general appearance of my skin quickly after beginning to use this. Super happy with it. SUNDAY RILEY - Luna Sleeping Night Oil amazing. I love this as an intro to retinol, and it has had no negative effects since it’s so gentle! I love the smell, the blue color, and will continue to buy this as long as they will sell it to me!

Addition to Winter ❄️ Skincare Routine 🍊
Hey there! I hope you’re having a great week so far. I know that the last few weeks have been crazy in the US 🇺🇸 at least due to the election and everything. I received the Sunday Riley CEO Vitamin C Hydration Cream on my Boxy premium back in August. SUNDAY RILEY - C.E.O. Vitamin C Rich Hydration Cream It was still quite hot in California around that time with multiple heat waves and decided to take this off my routine. It made my face super oily despite having dry skin. However, it started getting cold around mid-October and that’s when I added this to my morning routine. This has a high potency of Vitamin C and claims to fight visible signs of aging while helping with dryness. This is perfect for the colder months because it is thick and fixes my dry patches quickly. It also feels like butter on skin. My skin feels quickly moisturized and prepped in the morning. I also LOVE how this smells. It smells like freshly squeezed orange juice. I use this right after I apply my Vitamin C serum from Drunk Elephant. I don’t use this at night because I want to avoid mixing vitamin C with AHA/BHA and glycolic acid. I use those ingredients on my night time routines So far this made a huge difference on my skin. Not only it helps with moisturizing, but it makes my skin glow for hours. This item is a bit pricey however. It retails for $65 USD. Though pricey, I will definitely re-purchase. What additions have you made to your winter skincare routine? Xoxo, Francesca 💋

NIACINAMIDE: Trendy Fad or True Love?
We have all seen the rise of niacinamide in skincare marketing over the last year. So, what the HECK is Niacinamide? What’s it good for? Well, niacinamide is a form of vitamin B3 that works with your skin’s natural composition to minimize the appearance of pores, improve uneven skin tone, soften fine lines and wrinkles, and strengthen your skin barrier. It’s a water soluble ingredient so it can pretty easily be added into an existing formula as an additional benefit. You’ll see niacinamide in some anti-aging products, but recently we are seeing niacinamide in a lot of acne-fighting and acne-preventive ingredients. Since niacinamide helps your pores, it can help reduce and heal acne breakouts. Niacinamide can be really powerful when combined with other exfoliating and/or acne fighting ingredients (sensitive skin beware!), but you should never mix niacinamide with vitamin c—their chemical makeup renders each other inactive/useless when combined. Let’s get into some niacinamide products and my thoughts on each: iNNBEAUTY PROJECT - Down To Tone Resurfacing Toner Exfoliating Toner I’m rating this formula a 3/5. Acid toners aren’t my favorite as someone with sensitive skin, and this formula includes AHAs, BHAs, Niacinamide, as well as a ton of other ingredients. InnBeauty Project touts this as a P50 dupe and they so say on the bottle to only use this 3 times a week. It’s just too much for my sensitive skin I think. It’s also $26 for 3.4oz so it won’t last more than a month or so with consistent use. I just think there are better options out there. PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Niacinamide Booster this one is FIREEEE. Like. Non ironically. This product has become one of my holy grails in the past year because of its ability to mix into my serums and moisturizers without issue. It’s a 10% niacinamide formula without anything else to really give you the true benefit without overdoing it in your routine. It’s kind of pricey ($44 for .67oz) but you only need 1-2 drops of it and my partner and I have been using it consistently for 6+ months and we still have some left in our bottle! I highly recommend this to oily and/or acne prone skin types. SUMMER FRIDAYS - Jet Lag Mask I’ve talked about this product before—how it’s incorrectly marketed as a hydrating mask when the first few ingredients are “polishing.” Niacinamide being one of them! It’s my favorite “bright and tight” overnight mask and I’d recommend trying a sample or mini size before investing in a full size. I’m on my second tube and I use it 2-3 times a week strictly as an overnight mask. 5/5 (even though it’s $48) SUNDAY RILEY - Saturn Sulfur Acne Treatment Mask this one is my lesser known favorite. The sulfuric component helps get rid of painful acne while niacinamide helps keep it away. It’s pretty expensive ($55 for 2oz) but has an 18 month shelf life. I use this 1-2x monthly. 5/5 #CheriePartner

Sunday Riley Sulfur Acne Treatment Mask
This mask claims to clear up blemishes and prevent new breakouts. ❗️Note the packaging and title of this product have changed since I purchased this, but the claims and ingredients are very similar. Now it’s titled “spot treatment” instead of “treatment mask”.❗️ 🗝Key Ingredients🗝 Sulfur helps to dry up acne. It has also been shown to kill bacteria, reduce inflammation, and help exfoliate the skin. Sulfur is more gentle than some other acne fighters like benzoyl peroxide, so this can be a good alternative for more sensitive skin types. Niacinamide can treat many skin conditions. It strengthens the skin barrier, reduces signs of aging, brightens the skin, and can help prevent clogged pores. Zinc PCA helps to control oil production. It also has skin conditioning and antibacterial properties. Bentonite clay soaks up excess oil and has been shown to be wound healing. Manuka oil has strong anti bacterial and antioxidant properties. This oil is also soothing and can help fight inflammation. Tea tree oil is an essential oil that has antibacterial, anti fungal, anti microbial, anti septic... all the ‘anti’s’! I typically avoid essential oil and fragrance in my skin care, but this is one essential oil that I’m not allergic to (and I’m grateful for that). Contains other beneficial plant extracts. 🌱 No synthetic fragrance. ✅ Vegan and cruelty free. 🐒 The smell of this mask is quite strong. Sulfur smells like rotten eggs, and tea tree has a strong scent as well. Both are very noticeable in this mask. However, if you can move past that, this is an excellent product. I have used this quite a few times and my skin always looks and feels so clean and fresh when I rinse it off, but never too dry. I notice a lot of acne fighting and clay masks can be quite drying and irritating on my sensitive skin but I don’t get that reaction with this product at all. I recently used this on a new nodule and I woke up to a smaller, less inflamed spot. The anti inflammation properties of this mask are undeniable! I see this being helpful for the ‘maskne’ many people are struggling with right now. Happy healing, friends!🌻

I love everything about this from the texture to how it makes my skin feel. It’s a powerhouse and affordable! Sunday Riley Tidal Cream- I enjoy this cream. It’s supposed to hydrate and help fade dark spots. I haven’t reached for it enough to share my thoughts. ▫️ Rosen Tingling Mud Mask- I don’t generally have acne prone skin but I love the tingle of this mask and would recommend Rosen for anyone who is trying to find products to help clear breakouts and keep them at bay. Complex Beauty Pout Protector Lip Mask- This is a thicker lip oil that I like to spread on my lips before bed. I have been applying a balm on top to really lock in the mask. I live the vanilla tones!
