Curly Girl Method! I've tried these so you don't need to try again!
I've tried several hair products for curly hair, and these are my favorite! Shampoos SheaMoisture - Argan Oil and Almond Milk Shampoo It smells like milk. I love that and the way this made my hair feel. Very smooth and non-greasy after washing. Conditioners SheaMoisture - Superfruit Complex 10 in 1 Renewal System Conditioner Some people don't like its scent, but I personally can accept it. The moisturizing effect is perfect. TRESemmé - Botanique Nourish + Replenish With Coconut Milk & Aloe Vera Conditioner It's affordable and it's so large that you can use it for a long time. Apply it and wait 5-8 minutes, then your hair will be like seaweed. Kinky-Curly - Knot Today, Natural Leave In / Detangler It smells like coconut. I use it as a moisturizer. I have now purchased 3 bottles of this. My hair cannot get enough. It is pricey, but so worth it. It is the best leave in conditioner I have ever tried. The best part about it is it's sans silicones sulfates or waxes. If you're looking for a great detangler that doesn't leave your hair greasy, this is the one for you. Leave-in conditioners SheaMoisture - Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen & Restore Leave-In Conditioner It is a little greasy. I brush my hair with this leave in in during the shower and it keeps my hair silky and curls not frizzy Hair masks SheaMoisture - Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen & Restore Masque I use it once every two weeks, staying for 15-20 minutes before washing off. After using it, it helps hydrate my hair. It’s very light and doesn’t dry with any residue! It leaves my curls feeling light weight! Curl defining gels DevaCurl - Light Defining Gel Soft Hold No-Crunch Styler I have medium length curly hair and I use about a quarter size for the initial scrunch from ends to root. I touch up around the entire head with another quarter size. Let dry and scrunch to release the cast from the gel. My hair and curls are so happy with this product. It is the holy grail for sure. SheaMoisture - Coconut & Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie I use it to apply a little bit to the hair before setting. It makes your hair look a little oily.

HOW TO TURN YOUR HAIR FROM THIS🤮 TO THIS😍🔥
My hair care journey has not been easy but over time, I turned my EXTREMELY heat-damaged hair into lively, bouncy curls! Pictured is my current hair care routine, after 3 years of trying various hair products from ALL different brands I think I found my favorite lineup😍 TPH BY TARAJI - Honey Fresh Clarifying Shampoo With Moisture This clarifying shampoo is one of favorites that I’ve tried so far! I suffer from fast product build-up on my scalp, so I usually need to use a clarifying shampoo at least once a week. Something about a shampoo that bubbles makes my scalp feel extra clean 🧼 so I love using this on days where I feel like my No-Poo won’t get the job done. SLS/SLES free, phthalate free, paraben free, mineral oil free, and cruelty free! DevaCurl - No-Poo Original Zero Lather Conditioning Cleanser I wanted to love this product because I heard so much hype about it but it just doesn’t do much for when I feel like I need a wash day😅 Great texture though and my hair never feels stripped after using it! DevaCurl - One Condition Original Daily Cream Conditioner THIS IS MY HOLY GRAIL. Favorite conditioner I’ve ever used and definitely has a large role in my hair journey. My curls love this conditioner! (NOTE: the decadence version of this conditioner is great for super dry hair as well) Alikay Naturals - Lemongrass Leave-in Conditioner This is another one of my ride or die products and I was so surprised to see that it hadn’t been recommended on cherie yet! This detangles my hair so easily and it’s the first thing I spray on my hair when I get out of the shower. Its main ingredient is lemongrass oil that aims to help strengthen hair follicles, promote healthy hair growth, and reduce hair shedding. Highly recommend this product for ALL hair types! Kinky-Curly - Knot Today, Natural Leave In / Detangler This product is okay. When I first bought it, I though it would serve more as a gel to seal my leave in conditioners in but it just doesn’t work as well as DevaCurl - Light Defining Gel Soft Hold No-Crunch Styler . This gel creates the perfect shine and seal for all my moisturizing products that I apply before hand. AND I love that it doesn’t leave a crunchy feeling most gels do. MIELLE - Pomegranate & Honey Leave-In Conditioner Another hair care staple. The smell is fantastic and it slips through my hair like BUTTAH😩 Once my hair dries, I’m left with pillow-soft curls! (NOTE: I apply this after my Alikay Naturals Leave-in spray and top it with my gel) Briogeo - Don't Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Hair Mask Last but not least, liquid gold in a tub. Man if I could bathe in this mask I would. I use this mask once-twice a week to add some extra richness in my routine!

how i got rid of my frizz! (curly)
Oh boy folks. This was a test of trial and error. Look at that 2nd pic! That was my hair a few days ago. This is what I was doing WRONG for frizziness 😅 Washing my hair and then brushing conditioner in it from my crown down. Letting it air dry. Going to bed with it loose. The conditioner did make my curl shape nice but lordt. Too many tiny hairs got out of place. I tried using the DevaCurl - MIST-ER RIGHT Dream Curl Refresher to take away the frizz. I sprayed it on my dry hair and “scrunched” my curls together. It did make my hair shinier, but didn’t do much to hold my frizziness for the day. Maybe I was supposed to brush it into my hair, but I didn’t want to wet it. I wanted to figure out how to get pretty, low-frizz curls from the moment I wake up. *Edit/Update: After this post, a commenter let me know DevaCurl faced a lawsuit for hairloss anyway :( Wanted to put that out there. I took notes from the curly girl method and these steps finally did the trick. I brushed my hair with conditioner in the shower. But this time I didn’t start brushing from the crown. That flattens hair at the top of your head. Instead, I flipped my head upside down and brushed from the neck down. It helped detach my hair from my head, and dry down with more volume. Rinsed MOST of the conditioner off before getting out the shower. I wanted it to keep some moisture, but not so much that it would weigh it down. Flipped my hair down again and applied a LOT of Herbal Essences - Totally Twisted Curl-Boosting Mousse with Berry Essences It smells like lavender and berries 🍓 I “scrunched” it into my curls with my hands, as shown in the last pic. This helps encourage your natural curl shape. Let it air dry. You should already notice a difference in your curl volume and shape. Don’t touch it or pick at it. You don’t want to get any strands of hairs out of their tendrils. MOST IMPORTANT. Sleep with your hair in a silk or satin bonnet. Cotton pillowcases tend to take moisture from your curls, encouraging frizz. Bonnets/head scarves keep it together in one place. I used the /kit·sch/ - Black Satin Head Scarf It’s a little thin, but it does the job right for dry hair. And that’s it!! I’m actually really excited for how much it’s made my hair come to life again so far! I’ve read that “pineapple” ponytails, and “plopping” with T Shirts also help protect curly hair at night. But I haven’t trying doing this with wet hair to sleep yet. What works for your curls?

😌this blessed my 2C-3A curls
So not gonna lie, I just started trying the curly girl hair method like... yesterday. 🌺 The curly hair method is a way of taking care of your curls to bring out their best. A lot of products and advice in media are for straight hair. This means a lot of curlies accidentally flatten their curls or have trouble managing frizziness. There’s also a Scale ranging from 2A (wavier) to 4C (coily) to measure how curly your hair is. Finally, knowing your porosity, or how easily your hair absorbs moisture, is also helpful. The curly method involves a lot of different tips, but one of the most important parts of it is: 🌸 ‘Washing’ your hair with ONLY conditioner. And if you do wash it, make it sulfate-free. SheaMoisture - Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Conditioner is a Sulfate-free conditioner formulated for: 🌟 4A-4C Hair 🌟 Low Porosity 🌟 Rinsing Out But I found out it was catered to that AFTER learning I was a 2C-3A. Can you say 🤡 STILL, I’ve gone through 2 bottles of this already! AND I did a water test to see where my hair porosity was. You put your hair in a water, and if it stays at the top (like mine did), it’s low porosity. So that explains why this product worked so well on me! Below, I’ll break down my notes on why I love this product: 💜 It REALLY boosts my curls. On a sad day, my hair looks more wavy and S-shaped. But when I apply this conditioner, I can see my shorter layers spring up in big, romantic curls. 💜A little goes a long way. A dime-sized amount will do for shoulder-length to short hair. 💜 It’s relatively affordable. This bottle is 19.5 oz, and retails for ~$10. For the quality of the product, it’s worth getting over $20 salon brand conditioners 💜 It’s available at many retailers. I got mine at Bed Bath and Beyond, but Walgreens and Target also sell it. Although I do admit I haven’t tried a lot of curly hair suggestions yet... Here, I’ll explain how I’ve used this product~ And what I’m going to try next. 🧡 I wash my hair every other day, and use conditioner when I’m out of the shower. This makes it easier to brush it into my curls so they don’t get puffy. BUT I have been brushing from the roots down. They say that gives you a frizz halo so I’m going to try brushing from the bottom out now. 🧡 I left the conditioner in my hair overnight. And then is important: Go to bed with your hair wet! When your hair dries standing up, gravity pulls it down. When it dries while you’re laying down, it helps the curls form with less resistance. The conditioner said it’s rinse out, but I have had no problems leaving it in so far. 🧡 I don’t use any other products after conditioner. Sometimes I spritzDevaCurl - MIST-ER RIGHT Dream Curl Refresherto ease frizz, and that does the job. Buuuuuut I’m still learning. In all, I REALLY recommend this for replenishing curls overnight. Do you have any suggestions for newcomers to the curly hair method?

Wanna Mermaid Worthy Hair?Trust Me! Try This Haircare Routine!👩‍🦰👩‍🦰👩‍🦰
My hair was always frizzy, pouffy, did weird flippy things when it felt like it and it was just an overall hassle to tame. After years of trials and tribulations, money wasted and damaged hair due to the heat, I finally expolered the haircare routine that works perfectly on me.  I'd like to share it with you guys and hope its helpful for you.  1.  wash my hair once a week For someone with curly hair, washing with shampoo every day would strip away the hair’s natural oils and making it more dry and more frizzy. 2. I use shampoo with zero or minimal sulfates Lately the shampoos that have worked greatly for my dry and curly hair is the DevaCurl - No-Poo Original Zero Lather Conditioning Cleanser. This shampoo produces zero lather (which takes a while to get used to) and the grape seed, peppermint and rosemary in it keeps my hair soft and frizz-free. TheLUSH - Rehab Shampoo is another great shampoo if I want to switch it up. I only lather a loonie-size dollop of shampoo on my entire scalp. Tips: I never apply shampoo on the ends of my hair, just my scalp. 3.I use silicone-free conditioner It smells amazing and a little goes a long way with this one and it works wonders on my hair. The olive fruit oil, hops and quinoa in this conditioner makes my hair incredibly soft, but my hair still feels light and bouncy since there are no heavy silicones and parabens to weigh it down or make it greasy, like your average conditioners. I smooth out about 3-4 pumps of this conditioner on the ends of my hair only, starting from my ear, down to the ends. I let the conditioner sit in my hair for about 5 minutes before rinsing off and revealing silky hair that smells enchanting.  Tips: Never apply conditioner directly on the scalp and focus on the ends, because that is the driest part. 4. I rinse my hair with cold water  I always finish off my final rinse with very cold water. It’s worth the 10 seconds of frigid discomfort. The cold water basically eliminates frizz and feels refreshing on the scalp. 5. I pat my hair dry with a cotton T-shirt Never rub your curly hair in a towel! That will make your hair frizzy. Instead, grab a cotton T-shirt and pat gently. I pat my hair, focusing on the ends mostly, to absorb excess water to prepare it for the next step below. 6. I use styling product on wet hair The best advice I could give to styling curly hair: apply your styling product on wet hair. I have used a number of decent curling creams in the past but lately I have been digging thisLOVEurSELF - All-In-One: Curly. It has great ingredients, doesn’t feel heavy, and the curl power lasts all week. With this product, I get bouncy spiral curls for the first half of the week, and by the end of the week my hair winds down to flowy waves, and my hair never feels greasy. 7. I use a diffuser to dry my hair Diffusers distribute heat a little more sparingly so it’s not as damaging. I diffuse until my hair is about 80% dry, I give a brief cold air blast and then I finish off with the final step below. 8. I use a leave-in treatment to set my curls This LUSH - R&B Hair Moisturizeris a Holy Grail product for me. It’s the perfect finishing touch to use after I’m done diffusing my hair. 9. I use coconut oil as a deep conditioning hair mask  I’ll slather it on my ends, comb it out through my entire hair, give myself a little scalp massage, twist my hair up in a bun and let it absorb the coconut oil all day or overnight by wearing a disposable hair cap and placing a towel on my pillowcase. Do you have any ideas on curly hair routine. I'd love to discuss it with U!

Rate my hair care routine for my curly/wavy hair
So I have been trying to mess with my hair routine to better define my curls. I have curly/wavy hair, more like beach curls is what my fam said..I am new to hair care so would love some tips on how to better define my curls more. Here’s what I currently use. I was about 2-3 times per week depending if I swam or not. I live in a hot/dry climate and love to swim when I can for exercise REDKEN - Extreme Shampoothis is new to my mix and bought during ultas jumbo sale. So far I notice nothing different to what I used before but it doesn’t seem to make it worse so still deciding. I use a handheld hair scrub I found on amazon to wash my hair and love how it got rid of my dandruff just from using a new tool REDKEN - All Soft Conditioner I was using this with its shampoo but ran out of the shampoo..loved the two together because I felt my hair getting softer and silkier with each use. May end up going back to this set if I don’t find something better for my hair SheaMoisture - Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Shine Masque Packette I use this once a week in the shower and it does make a difference but I think it weighs down my hair too much so looking for recommendations! DevaCurl - WAVE MAKER Touchable Texture Whip I love to use this product to help define my curls more but wish it wasn’t so expensive so I took out one star. I use about a quarter size in my hair when wet and doesn’t weigh it down ogx - Nourishing Coconut Milk Anti-Breakage Serum I use this after my hair has dried and so far I really love this stuff! I notice the frizz decreasing and it doesn’t weigh my hair down. I was using Paul Mitchell’s skinny serum but that’s so expensive I found something else to help but at a better price and so far it’s great! Batiste - Bastie Dry Shampoo love this for days 2-3 on my roots. I can see a big difference and don’t see myself getting a different kind ever! It cleans up my roots and I never see any residue or white powder look after I rub the product in. PANTENE - Pro-V Curl Mousse to Tame Frizz for Soft and Touchable Curls I have had this mousse for years and a friend with curly hair said to use a mousse to help hold my curls better..once this is empty I need to find something better to hold my curls without the crunchy feeling. I am trying to find better ways to hold my curls and get the curls more near the roots. I didn’t realize till recently that my hair was so curly so I just brushed it before and threw it up till I figured out what my hair was really about. So I’m new to curly hair care and would love tips and affordable recommendations on products! Thanks!!

I gotta tell ya. Having curly hair is a LOT of work! Devacurl’s products are my lifesavers! I love their styling products! I have very curly hair and I have used all you can think of to tame these locks! What I love most about their products is that it’s 100% sulfate, parabens and silicone free!! You would think most products would be free of those ingredients but you’re wrong! It’s always important to know what you’re putting on your hair and skin! I am a proud customer of Deva curl because of the amazing quality of their products! I recommend this to every curly queen out there! This gel is amazing for the curls! It doesn’t leave your hair stiff! Your curls will still have the natural look and movement. Another thing I love about this product is that it’s not overly sticky on the hands or hair! Something I always consider when I’m buying a product is to research more about the brand and Devacurl is amazing! Devacurls Arc angel gel is sold for $24! Almost Empty Curl Gel
Empties! Probably have two uses left at the bottom so counting this DevaCurl Arc Angel max hold no crunch styling gel. I’ve been using this gel in conjunction with the super cream for a few months now. My super cream finished before the arc angel so I’m now using it with another curl cream. I found this gel to be pretty smooth and not sticky. It’s easy to pour out too much since it is pretty thin. It claims to create max hold and definition without getting crunchy or creating a cast. After using it, I found it can create a little cast on first day hair if you put a lot but that’s only if you’re heavy handed. I found it to work well on first day hair but just ok on second day hair and beyond. It definitely lives up to its claims for first day hair. However, I prefer other gels that create a cast and are thicker so that I can keep my hair looking great longer. I think this gel is better for smoother curl types as mine are rougher. For the price point, I prefer Camille rose naturals curl maker gel since it’s thicker and gives better definition that lasts much longer. The picture I shared is on second day hair. Rating: 4 out of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ DevaCurl - Arc Angel Gel Maximum Hold No-Crunch Styler

$160 DevaCurl Is Almost Prefect Except This One Problem..
I bought DevaCurl cream conditioner, conditioning cleanser, and cleansing serum a while ago. I have curly hair and my hair used to tangle a lot.    DevaCurl - No-Poo Original Zero Lather Conditioning Cleanser It has an interesting scent. It smells like flowers and mint. It doesn't have much foam, but is very easy to use. My hair is super long, so I use 1oz, which is one package,  every time I wash my hair.  DevaCurl - Wash Day Wonder It looks like aloe vera. It actually smells like it as well. I didn't feel any difference in the shower. But the next day, I was impressed by my hair. It looked super smooth.  I used it with the conditioning cleanser this time. It is so magical! My hair feels so smooth even before I use the conditioner.  I use this serum once a week. And that's pretty sufficient to me. DevaCurl - One Condition Original Daily Cream Conditioner It looks like yogurt. The scent is surprising, similar to wood. But I love it. I also need to use 1 oz every time. After I rinse off the conditioner, my hair has a natural shine. It is not fake at all.  I like how these three products have distinct scents. I almost feel like I bought three perfumes. But afterusing all three products, my hair smells nice. It is very refreshing.   After my hair gets dry, it becomes super soft. I can see the obvious difference in the mirror. I am so impressed by it. Even when I wake up in the morning, it is easy to brush my hair. It doesn't have as many tangles as I used to have. And it is not frizzy at all. It is just smooth and moisturized. I love it!  I highly recommend DevaCrul. The only thing I would say though, is the price. It is quite expensive. The cleansing serum is about $80 for 32oz. The other two are around $40 for 32oz. I really can't afford such a high price. And I need one package every time. So it ran out quickly. If you know any dupes for DevaCurl please please please please tell me! I really need it!

Sampling Deva Curl ASMR
Sampling Deva Curl ASMR
Sephora is great for sampling! Anyone else like to try before they buy? I spritzed my hair with water and then applied this moisturizing mask! I left it in an Day while j braved the winter elements. Despite the Deva Curl controversies running ramped online, I have to say that personally I wasn’t awe-inspired (my curls didn’t teach a goddess tier after one application) nor was I necessarily disappointed (my hair didn’t fall out and my curls didn’t flatten). It felt soft going on and melted into my hair like butter! It offered definition and was not crunchy when it absorbed. However, these products are not cheap, so I think that I will stick to the generous Sephora samples until I can budget this in!DevaCurl - Melt into Moisture Matcha Butter Conditioning Mask

Empties

tonymoly - The Chok C
Empties tonymoly - The Chok Chok Green Tea Watery Essence – I don’t trust essences, toners or serums foam on skin contact. This one does on me, so I repurposed it. Its thin watery consistency made it perfect to moisten my body before applying cream or body oil. This allowed me to use less moisturizer, which then absorbed better and my skin stayed hydrated longer. neogen Real Ferment Micro Essence – Great essence, helped impart layers of hydration and suppleness. I am still exploring the world of essences but would repurchase in the future. pantene – Truly Natural Hair: Curl Defining Conditioner. This is the product that I hate to love because pantene doesn’t think that there is a market for their “Truly Natural hair” line in Canada. Make no mistake, I love this conditioner, but after more than a decade of stocking up on my travels I’m ready to find an alternative from a brand that thinks I’m worth catering to. . devacurl Ultra Defining Gel – I expected more. I like that it doesn’t produce crunchy curls but you have to use so much product and the hold doesn’t have the kind of longevity I need. . . briogeo - Don't Despair Repair: deep conditioning mask. I liked it and want to explore this brand. Didn’t use it enough to rate it. verbproducts – hard to judge samples. The shampoo showed promise. The conditioner size was a joke and literally only did a small segment of hair. (Raise your hand if you’re like me and go thru wayyyyyy more conditioner than shampoo with each wash). I’d have to try bigger sizes to form an opinion on them. sjoskin Happy Honey Mask – Love this 6-ingredient multi-tasking mask and will repurchase when my no buy is over. farmacybeauty : Freshen Up – smell, application, packaging, color, texture… all wonderful… until it left burns under my arms so I had to stop. organicawellness – Lactic Acid serums get repurposed to control ingrown because my face cannot handle it. gypsysora – this oil blend was too heavy for my face, but on the body it was a divine indulgence. dear_klairs - review soon

Almost Empty Curl Gel
