Hello, hello! Today I finally finished my Retinol from Shani Darden which is a plus for my skin, but pain from my pockets haha. Though both of these products are a bit pricey, they are worth the investment. I had the HERBIVORE - Lapis Blue Tansy Face Oil For Oily & Acne-Prone Skin for a long time almost a year, and I would use daily. The retinolSHANI DARDEN SKIN CARE - Retinol Reform lasted me about a good 3 months, keep in mind I only used it on my affects areas(sides of my face).

Award WINNING facial oil! Must have!
Did you know Lapis Oil won a 2020 Glamour Readers’ Choice Beauty Award for best natural skincare product? PRODUCT: Lapis oil is a hydrating facial oil that deeply hydrates the skin while improving blemishes and redness. ✨This quick-absorbing formula is made with 100% natural and pure plant oils. It contains vitamins, fatty acids, and antioxidants which form a natural lipid barrier to lock in essential nourishment. ✨This oil holds a chemical component called Chamazulene, which comes from the Blue Tansy plant. That’s where the color comes from! MY THOUGHTS: If I had to pick just ONE skincare product, it would be this beauty. This is my second bottle and it has become an absolute staple in my skincare routine. I started using this oil about a year ago and it has completely changed my skin! It mainly targets blemishes and redness while still hydrating from deep within. It has the perfect texture, not too watery and not too thick. I absolutely love how it has transformed my skin and how well it controls any blemishes I might have. My skin feels so smooth and healthy every time I use it and it really helps lock in hydration. I also love that a little bit goes a LONG way with this oil, I only need about 4-5 drops to cover my entire face and neck. This oil really deserves all the hype it gets, highly recommend! SIDE NOTE: •This product is vegan, cruelty-free, gluten-free, and noncomedogenic.🌱🐰

Luxury Skincare: did NOT solve my problems! 🚫
I waited years before getting my hand on the may lindstrom skin - The Problem Solver Correcting Mask I dealt with acne from adolescence up until I was about 22 and I remember how badly I wanted this product, thinking it would literally solve my acne problems; Fast forward a couple more years, I was actually gifted it at a work event and was super excited to give it a try! 🤩 but unfortunately that’s where my excitement ended 🙃 What I Expected: * Clarified skin * Oil control * Acne problems solved ✅ What I Got: * Over-priced product ($100 😳) * Irritated skin & dryness * Acne problems NOT solved 🥴 (so glad I didn’t purchase with my own money 💰) According to the website, “the unique formula brightens, heals inflammation and irritation, fades hyperpigmentation, stimulates collagen production, and treats and prevents breakouts.” Unfortunately, I didn’t not experience any of that. The texture of the product was slightly different in that it had a moussey like texture, unlike something I’ve experienced before. But the ingredients in the formula are really not the best for sensitive skin, and I also question it for other skin types [baking soda, cayenne pepper, sea salt, etc...] 🤔 I experienced itchiness, redness, & dryness. The instructions said to leave on for about 30-45mins but I couldn’t keep it in longer than 10 😖 This is one product I was sadly disappointed by, and would recommend using a cheaper alternative or a salicylic acid mask that can help with congestion. My recommendations * HERBIVORE - Blue Tansy Resurfacing Clarity Mask (used in the past) * HERBIVORE - Prism 20% AHA + 5% BHA Exfoliating Glow Facial (currently using) I’ve used both and was very happy with the results I got, plus they are much gentler on the skin. The blue tansy is also formulated for acne prone skin, and you can pick up a mini set from Sephora for only $24! What luxury products have you been disappointed by? 💔 #CheriePartner

Not sure about this one....
HERBIVORE - Blue Tansy Resurfacing Clarity Mask Makes my face feel somewhat smoother after but not sure if it actually helps with bumps and acne long term.... Also it’s so liquidy that I always end up spilling it all over while trying to put it on my face. This is probably just mine but the jar lid doesn’t close properly ☹️ Feels nice and not too tight as it dries on my face but you can hardly see when you have the mask on because it’s so light and liquidy 😜 maybe this is just me but I like seeing that I have a mask on !! Update: added another picture because it changed colours from green to brown so I think it has expired before I got a chance to use it up.

SERUMS VS OILS ?! WHATS THE DIFFERENCE ?!
I’ve seen this mistake made in many routines, including my own! When first getting into skincare, and experimenting with all sorts of new goodies it can be tough sometimes to understand a products function and what order to apply each product. It took me forever to figure out how to incorporate oils into my routine without just making myself look like a greasy monster 🙄 So I wanted to bring it back to basics and talk about the difference between facial serums and facial oils ✨ SERUMS: ✨ These are a treatment step, serums contain up to 70% active ingredients making them highly potent and results oriented. ✨Serums are made up of small molecules that are able to penetrate and deposit powerful actives into the deeper layers of the skin. ✨Serums can have moisturizing ingredients, but aren’t considered moisturizers in the traditional sense. You need to follow a serum with a moisturizer to create a barrier on top and keep all the good stuff in. ✨You should always use serums before moisturizer and never as a replacement FACIAL OILS: ✨Are best suited as a hydration step, the molecules are much larger meaning they are only serving the outermost layers of the skin. ✨Oils provide a boost of nutrition and hydration, they help nourish and strengthen the skin barrier. ✨Oils should be applied after serums and moisturizer, and can actually be used to replace your moisturizer. ✨ You only need about 2-3 drops of oil to cover your face without leaving a greasy film. A couple of my favourite are: SERUMS: ONE LOVE ORGANICS - Botanical C Facial Serum The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% HERBIVORE - Prism 12% AHA + 3% BHA Exfoliating Glow Serum OILS:HERBIVORE - Emerald Deep Moisture Glow Oil YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superberry Hydrate + Glow Oil

Morning & Night Skincare Routine
Just wanted to share my day and night skincare routines that I’ve perfected over time to keep my skin clear and smooth. I have combination to oily skin, and hormonal acne due to PCOS. I used to over scrub my skin to the point of causing even more breakouts and redness. Over the years I’ve learned that exfoliating and hydration is key to keep my skin happy and zit free. Morning: EMINENCE - Clear Skin Probiotic Cleanser Perfect cleanser for my skin. Helps keep it clear and is gentle. HERBIVORE - Jasmine Green Tea Oil Control Toner Soothing and helps balance my skin. Not over drying. 4 stars only because of the smell. It’s a little strong, but I don’t hate it. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% LOVE this serum! Helps keep my face clear! Noticed a major difference two weeks after I started using it. It’s an essential part of my routine 😊😊 HERBIVORE - Phoenix Rosehip Anti-Aging Face Oil for Dry Skin Perfect to help keep my face hydrated but doesn’t clog my pores. I’m so glad to have found this oil because regular moisturizer has never worked for me. My skin absorbs it quickly and I never feel oily. A few drops go a long way. Works well under my makeup. It’s pricy but well worth it. TONYMOLY - Panda's Dream Brightening Eye Base I love this stuff. Really does reduce bags and dark circles and stays put under makeup. ** taking suggestions for a non-pore clogging SPF. Night: CLINIQUE - Take The Day Off Cleansing Oil This works so well to remove makeup and clear my pores. This one doesn’t break me out like the others I’ve tried. EMINENCE - Clear Skin Probiotic Cleanser The Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution I LOVE this toner. Helps keep my skin free from overnight breakouts. HERBIVORE - Prism 20% AHA + 5% BHA Exfoliating Glow Facial I love how this really does make my skin glow. Superb exfoliation and does not irritate my skin. HERBIVORE - Phoenix Rosehip Anti-Aging Face Oil for Dry Skin TONYMOLY - Panda's Dream Brightening Eye Base TATCHA - The Kissu Lip Mask I love this! My lips are so smooth in the mornings. A little goes a long way so even though it’s pricey, it lasts a long time. I use it 2-3 times a week. I also use a couple of face masks but I’ll make a separate post for that. 😊 Anyway that’s what works for me!

You need to treat yourself to facial massage💆🏼
This brand of products is so aesthetically pleasing, and this product is no exception! I use this oil in the morning to do my gua sha facial massage. It is not too oily and really leaves my face feeling moisturized, while providing the perfect amount of lubrication for my stones. It is also a very pretty color! I will definitely be repurchasing this as my staple face oil once I run out of this trial size!

No makeup clear skin goals
Whats better than a smooth makeup finish? A smooth makeup base aka clear skin! Lets talk about the ideal routine: The ideal skin routine contains a double cleanse, an exfoliating product (or two), a vitamin c product, a hyaluronic acid product, a retinol, antioxidants and a good moisturizer and of course SUNSCREEN. My double cleanse compromises of a cleansing balm VO BEAUTY - Milky Melt-away Cleansing Balm and following with a salicylic acid gel cleanser because I am oily and slightly acne prone BIODERMA - Sébium Gel moussant . This combo has kept my oils in control, and cleanses my skin and removes all residue. My antioxidants come from my LANCÔME - Énergie de Vie Intense Essence , an essence I use in both my day and night routine, but it is more important to fight free radicals during the day, so ideally, use your antioxidants products in your AM routine. Vitamin C is also another great antioxidant, and another must-have in any routine for the brightening effects and ability to smooth the skin. I’m currently using three ships - Dew Drops Mushroom Hyaluronic Acid + Vitamin C Serum , a new product that I’ve been loving because of the beautiful texture and finish. I do not currently use a retinol, but was using a retinol alternative HERBIVORE - Bakuchiol Serum however it is now discontinued and I am on the lookout for another bakuchiol product/ retinol alternative. Exfoliating is super important to me. I have pretty oily skin and one of my biggest concerns is my large pores and I feel like HERBIVORE - Prism 12% AHA + 3% BHA Exfoliating Glow Serum has seriously changed my life in terms of pores and akin texture. I also use exfoliators in my masks or toners, but you want to make sure you dont overdo it with exfoliation, because it can disrupt your moisture barrier. My hyaluronic acid product is and will always be VICHY - Minéral 89 Face Serum with Hyaluronic Acid . Hyaluronic acid is leading hydrating ingredient in skincare as it has powerful humectant properties and can retain 1000x its weight in water. This in terms hydrates and plumps the skin and fights dehydration. Another hydrating product I’ve been testing is VOLITION - Snow Mushroom Water Serum which I love the texture of. Currently I’m using my Vichy serum during the day because its lighter and thinner and my Volition serum at night, and like it so far, but I do not think I would replace my Vichy serum with the Volition serum (price difference), Of course you’ll want a moisturizer for your specific skin type and concerns, but with the point is to protect and moisturize your skin. I’m loving my GROUNDED SAGE SKINCARE - Raw Radiance Facial Moisturizer because of the texture and the niacinamide in it fore my pores. And do NOT forget about sunscreen. That is going to protect and repair your skin! #cheriepartner

Retinol alternative. Does Bakuchiol work?
Bakuchiol - is it really a retinol alternative? 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝘽𝙖𝙠𝙪𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙤𝙡? >>A vegan, all natural plant extract, said to be a 𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘰𝘭 𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦. Bakuchiol comes from the Babchj plant and is a compound isolated from the seeds and leaves. It is then commercially purified to become what we are seeing in skincare, Bakuchiol oil. 𝘿𝙤𝙚𝙨 𝙞𝙩 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠? There is not enough studies or research on how it works particularly at this time, BUT with the few that there are, 𝙔𝙀𝙎, 𝙞𝙩 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠𝙨. ✰ improves sign of aging. Has the same collagen boosting properties as Retinol. ✰ its an antioxidant! It fights against free radicals. ✰ fades pigmentation. It inhibits melanin production. ✰ antibacterial + anti-inflammatory. Fights acne! 𝙄𝙨 𝙞𝙩 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙖 𝙜𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙧𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙤𝙡 𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚? It’s honestly just as effective according to research. You do have to use it am and pm to achieve the same results just from nightly retinol. ✰ not sun sensitive, wear this night and day! ✰ better suited for sensitive skin types that can’t handle retinol yet. 𝙣𝙞𝙖𝙘𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙢𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙙𝙤𝙚𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙗𝙖𝙨𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮. You can find a cheaper alternative to Bakuchiol by using Niacinamide with ALMOST the same results. The two ingredients do things differently, but help with similar concerns. 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙨𝙚𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙧𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙤𝙡? USE BOTH! Bakuchiol stabilizes Retinol, helps it work longer, and also helps skin sensitivity to retinol. HERBIVORE - Bakuchiol Serum This Bakuchiol serum really didn’t do much for me. It will not be a repurchase. It does not compare to a lower dose/% of retinol at all for me. While it has a nice tacky yet luxurious texture, it pretty much just made my skin feel hydrated and that’s about it. I will be trying the rest of this serum with my retinol as I have read new things about them working better together, so we will see!

Blackheads and Bumpy texture who?? 😍✨
This post is for anyone who wants to get rid of blackheads and textural irregularities!! Quickly dropping these two Ingredients today for anyone who has Blackheads and Rough, bumpy texture - Azelaic acid and Salicylic acid (Beta Hydroxy Acid AKA BHA) 😍 Since the start of my skincare journey I had these two issues along with hyperpigmentation, a lot of dead skin and clogged pores! I look at these two as my 'Skin Reviving Ingredients' ☺️✨ They truly get rid of any skin texture you have and will give you that glass skin! Also anybody who has blackheads or excessive oily skin that cause clogged pores, sebaceous filaments you should use this powerful combination of Ingredients. Both Azelaic acid and Salicylic acid do different things but they on one ground take care of skin texture, clogged pores and oily skin. I find the combination of these two quite gentle and not so irritating. But when incorporating these two together you always should take a patch test. I use @naturium Azelaic topical acid 10% NATURIUM - Azelaic Topical Acid 10% and @naturium BHA liquid exfoliant 2% NATURIUM - BHA Liquid Exfoliant 2% I really like these two, they both have a great formula. BHA is that slippery liquid, a water toner which doesn't make your skin oily. Azelaic acid is a clear slightly thick consistency which is thin and gets absorbed in skin quickly. ✨HOW I USE THESE: I use both of these products in the morning. -After my shower, I prep my skin with @paulaschoice Pore reducing toner PAULA'S CHOICE - Pore-Reducing Toner - Then apply @naturium BHA liquid exfoliation NATURIUM - BHA Liquid Exfoliant 2% - Then I layer @naturium Azelaic acid NATURIUM - Azelaic Topical Acid 10% - Apply moisturizer (Currently I'm using @herbivore Pink Cloud moisturizer) HERBIVORE - PINK CLOUD Rosewater Moisture Creme - Lastly Sunscreen. I use @tula Daily SPF 30 TULA SKINCARE - Daily Sunscreen Gel Broad Spectrum SPF 30 This routine has given me a really soft, smooth skin. It helps in keeping my blackheads at bay as well as these both (Azelaic acid + BHA) helps with my Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation / Dark spots! If you have any questions, ask me in the comments below 😊❤️✨ Happy Skincare!!

First impression of Cherie Cheerleader prize 🥰
Happy Tuesday beauties!!! ❤️ I just received my prize for top 3 cheerleaders last week from @cherie 😍 I'm so happy and honored to be rewarded by @cherie and grateful for you all for cheering for my content!! It means the world to me ❤️ I received this new Pink Cloud rosewater moisture cream by @herbivore ✨HERBIVORE - PINK CLOUD Rosewater Moisture Creme This is such a beautiful water cream that glides on skin without making it greasy or heavy. This is perfect for Oily/Combination skin types or Acne prone skin like me. I prefer light moisturizers and preferably with minimum to no active ingredients just to keep my actives locked underneath and this is perfect for that reason! My first impression of this cream is amazing. I'm loving its slightly gel texture but not so watery, perfect for everyday use. It smells like fresh roses when you open the jar but the fragrance is very mild and doesn't linger for too long, love it! I have to give it a thumbs up for the packaging, it's a glass jar that looks beautiful. This has amazing natural ingredients such as : 🌹 Water - Naturally high in antioxidants and excellent for reducing appearance of redness in skin. This is also where Pink Cloud’s natural scent comes from. 🌹Sodium Hyaluronate - Vegetable sourced, it penetrates deeply into the skin to attract and retain water for maximum hydration. 🌹Aloe Water - Lightweight, skin soothing and hydrating. Aloe is also naturally rich in salicylic acid making it great for preventing blemishes. 🌹Kukui Oil - Rich in linoleic acid, it is great for hydrating and balancing all skin types, plus it adds a subtle dewy glow. 🌹White Tea Extract - Youth preserving, rich in antioxidants which protect skin from pigmentation and fine lines. 🌹Rice Extract - Improves texture and clarity of skin by smoothing and brightening dark spots. 🌹Radish Root Ferment - A 100% Natural cutting edge preservative that we use in our products. In my opinion this is beautiful moisturizer that can save it's place in your everyday skincare regimen! I will post my experience and in depth review in few weeks. My first impression is all good and I would love to keep using this.

🌍Eco friendly skincare packaging = the future
Glass packaging in skincare really is the wave when it comes to sustainability! Glass jars reduce the quantity of plastic waste created by the beauty industry, and I’m for it. I love repurposing glass jars to store other items like jewelry, homemade creams and candle wax! Something Youth to the People does that I find amazing is they sell a large bottle that you can refill smaller bottles with. My mini is now a travel must for me, and instead of purchasing again and again I just refill it! 🍀🌴☘️ I also think it’s an amazing cleanser so it’s a win-win. 🌸Almost empty Innisfree - will repurchase!
I’m down to my last few drops of the Innisfree Dew Glow Jelly Cream... and I’m sad 🥺 On one hand I have to give homegirl her props, because she lasted me all summer! 👏🏾 I fell in love with the delicious cherry blossom smell, the refreshing gel texture, the way it glides on and absorbs into the skin. I was even able to transition into fall by adding a few drops of Orchid Oil with each application. Niacinamide is one of the standout ingredients, alongside Jeju Cherry Blossom. I will definitely repurchase this next summer! At $25, the price is doable and the joy it brings me is worth it! 💞 It feels refreshingly cool and wet (but not tingly) almost like applying a sheet mask. It absorbs into the skin quickly so you can also wear it as an overnight mask! HERBIVORE - Orchid Facial Oil innisfree - Jeju Cherry Blossom Dewy Glow Jelly Cream

Mount Lai vs. Herbivore Rollers
Okay, yes, it is a little crazy that I have two different jade rollers, but I have a good reason! I had the herbivore roller first and dropped it one day, it kind of broke and started making a squeaky sound when I used it. So, my husband surprised me with the Mount Lai version after researching rollers online! How sweet! Anyway, I figured I would try to compare the two for a review, but, honestly, they are pretty much on par with one another. The cost is almost the same (Herbivore $30, Mount Lai $34) and they both work very well. I will say I like the way the Herbivore tool looks a lot more than the Mount Lai. The Herbivore roller is a darker green with gold detailing that I find prettier. On the other side, I find the Mount Lai tool feels a little bit colder when you use it. So, I definitely like that! Long story short: If you’re looking for a jade roller, you can’t go wrong with either of these! MOUNT LAI - The Jade Textured Facial Roller HERBIVORE - Jade De-Puffing Face Roller

Beauty Fridge First Impressions
First off, is a beauty fridge necessary? No, of course not. It’s sort of an extra item that can preserve your products better and make your skin feel refreshed and depuffed when you put them on. I ordered this one at bed bath and beyond and they have it in this sweet pink colour and in baby blue as well. It’s just a little 4L fridge and it comes with a little shelf inside as well as one on the door. My essence and drunk elephant serums were too tall to keep the cute little shelf in but maybe someday I can keep in there if I have shorter products. My first impressions are pretty good. These little fridges themselves come with car plug ins as well and go hot or cold so you can use them for other things like food and drink. When I put my skincare on tonight after having it chill in the fridge it felt so nice. It was really refreshing on the skin and the jade roller was next level when actually chilled. Even if you don’t get a little mini fridge I’d recommend storing the jade roller in your regular fridge to use. Would I recommend if you want to splurge based on these first impressions? definitely. If not, then maybe it’s not worth it for you. You decide!

Last night I finished off my herbivorebotanicals Blue Tansy. I probably got 4-5 uses out of this mini jar, and unfortunately, I’m not sure I’ll be in a rush to repurchase. It really pains me to say that because my first few experiences with this mask were positive. The smell took some getting used to, but I liked how it dried down and that I could feel it working and cooling practically the whole 10-15 minutes it stayed on my face. THIS LAST TIME THOUGH?? Oh boy, I think I over-exfoliated or something, maybe, because my face was on FIRE. This mask was always intense for me anyway, but this hurt, and I could only leave it on for like 5 minutes. There was literally a red ring around my T-zone that showed where the product was on my face. This had never happened before, so I’m almost certain it was my fault, but I don’t know, man. Once my Lapis is out, I’ll probably get the duo again and give it another shot, but right now, I’m scarred! 😂😂😂 Anybody else experience anything like this? Oh, the hazards of over-exfoliation! ANYWAY, going with the much gentler Moon Fruit, Phoenix/Lapis combo tonight. Those are products from this brand that I will absolutely be repurchasing once they’re gone!

One of my favorite parts of my night time routine is my serum/oil step. Ive fallen in love with this farmacy Honeymoon glow! Usually I prefer my AHA/BHA in toners but this one is great! Effective but gentle enough to use every night. Other nights I reach for a rich oil like these three. Honestly, I don’t own a ton of night serum. The only other one I like is TLC Framboos.
