Hormonal acne solutions PT. II 🤗
THAYERS - Cucumber Facial Toner
cocokind - Raspberry vinegar toner
VERSED - WEEKEND GLOW ✨
I can finally give this an actual review as it’s been more than 2 months of me using it. I can say that it has visibly brightened my skin, especially my cheeks & around the mouth. It is really gentle and it doesn’t leave skin feeling dry or uncomfortable. When I need some extra care with acne (hormonal mainly or stress related) I mix 2 pumps of this with one spritz of the Cocokind Raspberry Vinegar Toner.
TATA HARPER - Resurfacing Serum Gentle yet effective and clean. 💁🏼♀️

Osmosis Beauty - Clarify - Blemish Retinal Serum Takes some time to see results but it’s a great retinol product starter🧡

Face mask that’ll make you go WOW 😮
This resurfacing mask from Tata Harper is such a powerhouse of a product🌝.The first time I used it I felt a lite tingling but nothing bad at all it’s so natural and you can feel how gentle it is on skin you leave it on for 20 min and it tightens your face, after washing off with warm water 🚿 you feel clean refreshed and glowy. 🤗Wear sunscreen during day because it exfoliates you’re skin and takes off dead skin cells. Glass skin starts with good skincare and this is it. 🍃

Let’s talk hyperpigmentation.
Cystic acne sucks. And I’ve been dealing with it for years. The journey and healing can seriously take months for just one blemish which is very, very frustrating. Even after the cyst finally flattens and your skin isn’t inflamed as ever, odds are you still have the hyperpigmentation and that can linger on your face for as long as it pleases if you don’t have a plan.
The ingredients that have helped me the most are not salicylic acid and tretinoin like many people suggest. While I do use them, products containing those ingredients are not the ones that pull me through the seemingly never ending cycle of cystic acne breakouts. And they don’t target hyperpigmentation (which you should always start “pre-treating” when you have the breakout!)
Always be on the look out these ingredients for fighting cystic breakouts and the hyperpigmentation they cause. You can find these in just about any skincare product but mostly cleaners, toners, and serums.
Niacinamide
Licorice Root
Kojic Acid
Lactic Acid
Vitamin C
Tranexamic Acid
These are my tried and true texture renewing, hyperpigmentation, and cystic acne blasting products. I’ve been through numerous bottles of each and I’m still going back for more, I simply can’t live without them!

Lactic Acid for beginners
What is lactic acid?
Lactic acid is a type of Aloha Hydroxy acids (AHAs) and are found in many foods but commonly found in dairy.
In skincare lactic acids are true multi-tasker: stimulate the exfoliation of the skin by breaking down the bonds between skin cells, promote cellular renewal and increase turnover rates in the epidermis, increase ceramides in the skin protective barrier — increase after retention, prevent congestion and reduces pigmentation.
Holy Guacamole! Can it pick up my dry cleaning?
When it comes to looking for the best lactic acids for you, you should be looking at the percentage of acids in the product and and the pH level of the formula— for home care products should be about 10% or less with pH around 3.0-4.0.
Since it is an all a round gentle and effective AHA, it is sage for all skin types; specifically for more matured, acne prone and sensitive skin.
✅ DO: use at night on cleansed skin before oils, and moisturizer. Allow a few minutes for the product to sink into the skin before continuing with your regimen.
🛑 DON’T: Mix AHAs and Retinol
According to popsugar.com - you do not want to mix lactic acids, salicylic acids, and glycolic acids with retinol based product one right after the other especially if you have more reactive or sensitive skin.
There are a couple of set backs:
- if overused or used improperly can cause skin irritation— skin peeling and redness
- sensitivity to the sun, so use your SPF!
The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA
This is an amazing and affordable Lactic acid for skincare newbies and enthusiasts alike.
I’ve been using it for a few weeks and I am in love!! I can see a significant reduction in my pigmentation— sun spots and acne scars. Yay!!
This lactic acid and HA blend has PH 3.60 - 3.80.

EXFOLIATING CLEANSER
TATA HARPER - Regenerating Exfoliating Cleanser
I love Tata Harper for its clean and vegan ingredients, and luxurious packaging. This
natural daily exfoliator uses BHA and apricot microspheres to reveal smooth, radiant healthy-looking skin. I have noticed after my wash I feel very fresh and glowy. I use this product about 1-2x/week and can say my skin is much more smooth in texture.
Pictured is the small version I got in the Daily Essentials Kit that comes with this cleanser, resurfacing mask, hydrating floral essence, rejuvenating serum, reparative moisturizer, restorative eye creme, and replenishing nutrient complex. With is a lot! For $75. I would recommend if you’re feeling boujee and want a good clean beauty product.

My empties and their replacements 🥰
Loved this idea from @jennyand it just so happens I finished these 3 items!
I loved all my empties (hence the empty) and I mostly wanted to try some new things so my swaps are:
Indie lee coq10 toner for Tata Harper floral toner
The indie lee toner is one of my faves. This is my 2nd bottle this year! It really hydrated well and just gives a beautiful glow. I however wanted to try out the Tata Harper floral essence as my toner instead because of how many super ingredients are in it.
DHC deep cleansing oil for Tata Harper cleansing oil
So I’ve been using the DHC cleansing oil for the last 3 years! It’s seriously such a staple. Simple, effective, nourishing, and affordable. I’m excited to try Tata Harpers cleansing oil because of how many super ingredients are in it (common theme in the brand). Let’s see how it goes !
Heraux serum for another round!
This serum is insane! It’s really helped with my inflammation and a great anti-aging serum that isn’t retinoid. So here I go for round 2!
*the Tata Harper items were so kindly given to me by the brand!*

Tata Harper Hydrating Floral Essence
Enhancing my hydration as the California desert sucks it all up. The Tata Harper Hydrating Floral Essence is a wet dream, literally!
I don’t have especially dry skin but this makes sure I have enough hydration after I cleanse. I shouldn’t be washing my face with hot water, but its a habit I’ve had too much trouble breaking. So this hyaluronic acid face mist helps me with my vices. This gives me a nice dewy feel before I go to the serum stage of my routine and occasionally mid day when needed. I unfortunately get through these quicker than anticipated. TATA HARPER - Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid Floral Essence

CLEAN Tata Harper Clarifying Mask
If you’re looking for a mask for clearing up your skin, this is the mask for you. It’s green pigment from calendula helps counteract any redness while it’s honey is a natural antimicrobial, leaving your skin clear smooth. The mask also contains micro crystals of quartz to physically exfoliate your skin as you remove the mask.
I have always loved this mask and used it frequently (probably weekly) over the last year for acne and imperfections. Within the few days after using it, my skin has looked noticeably clearer, especially when paired with Tata Harper’s Clarifying face wash.
I would definitely recommend this product but it does have a hefty price tag ($72.) The bottle goes a long way and I would definitely purchase it again.

Current night routine
This is not including micelles cleanse water. I double cleanse!! Also every other day or few days I use tretinoin cream at night instead of this routine.
The TATA HARPER - Nourishing Makeup Removing Oil Cleanser is my fall obsession!! With the changing seasons my skin gets so unbelievably flaky. This helps add moisture to my skin while also removing make up and other impurities. Highly recommend if you struggle with dry/flake skin or just enjoy a gentle cleanser.
TRULY - Hemp Oil Facial Serum this product is good, I bought it in a time of need and didn’t know much about the brand. It does the job and I’m just trying to finish it and not waste it. I will say it is nourishing and feels pretty good on my skin.
If anybody has good night serum recommendation I would love to hear them!!!
TATCHA - The Dewy Skin Cream this has been such a game changer for my dry skin. I absolutely love it for nighttime. It’s so thick and creamy and I wake up with soft moisturized skin. This is my first Tatcha product, I’ve heard mixed reviews but so far it makes my skin feel great.
This is my current skin- I’m struggling with masnce (acne from face mask) and my skin has been dry so it is a bit red and irritated.

Sephora: “A lightweight, silicone-free refillable moisturizer with natural peptides and hyaluronic acid for skin smoothing, balanced hydration.”
Tata: “A lightweight, silicone-free hydrator that primes and smooths with orange peptides, pomegranate spheres, and macro hyaluronic acid. Best for roughness/uneven texture, dryness or dullness.”
performance | full star | yoooo, This moisturizer is a winnaaa. My skin loved this for sure!
texture | full star | creamy, lightweight, but sooo hydrating and not super greasy looking
scent | full star | most tata products are floral-y, but this is more citrusy and fresh with a hint of floral (no added fragrance 🙌🏼)
packaging | full star | the best packaging launch of 2020! More brands need to do a refillable pod, especially if it’s an airless pump (shoutout to riri’s new spf also). Plus an airless pump for jars is sooo much more sanitary. Also tata packaging is just so gorg with that green & gold 💚✨
ingredients | .75 star | the ingredients list is quite long, but I love how they farm/harvest/extract a lot of their ingredients on site in Vermont. I’m not gonna lie, I was a tad sus with it having lactic acid (aha) so I made sure to religiously apply spf in the day
value | .9 star | overall I think this is their fairest priced option in their line & the refill is priced in line with like products. $62-68 is not in everyone’s price range, so just a lil doc for that
Total 5.65 out of 6 stars ✨

is Tata Harper WORTH it??? 🙃
💚Will I repurchase this product??? It’s a hard MAYBE for me. For the price, I believe there are moisturizers out there that are just as good and less expensive. The moisturizer is $68 initially, and the refillable pods are $62. HOWEVER, Tata Harper products are luxurious!!! and this is why I was attracted to the brand in the first place. It’s just a very pleasant experience to use their products and have them in my vanity. Branding & packaging am i right🙄
💚Ingredients include: orange peptides, pomegranate spheres, and macro hyaluronic acid. These ingredients are supposed to create a breathable, smoothing effect. It is branded as a lightweight, silicone-free moisturizer-primer hybrid. I personally would NOT use this as a primer, as I feel it just SITS on my skin, not really absorbing and mostly leaving me quite glowy and I’m already oily. But if thats your vibe, then go for it! ALSO, this product contains AHA.
💚Since it is branded as really working mostly on the surface level of the skin, not penetrating too deeply, to prevent transepidermal water loss, I use this product at night to lock in all my other actives. It is silky and I LOVE the texture. I haven’t had any adverse effects with this moisturizer!
💚To be honest, to me it smells really yummy and citrusy/flowery. BUT I know there’s a big divide in the skin care community over FRAGRANCE so if you feel very strongly against fragrance, pretend the Tata Harper brand just doesn’t exist lol. It’s all flowery and pretty scents here. Luckily I have almost no sensitivity to fragrance, so I enjoy these products a lot!
💚ALSO I LOVE THE REFILLABLE PACKAGING!
Let me know what you think!!

Reviews
I’ve been coveting the Tata Harper Restorative Eye Creme for the longest time and finally scored it during the recent Sephora sale. 🥰
I’d read so many raves over this eye treatment, claiming that it helps minimize the appearance of fine lines wrinkles and visibly reduce puffiness and dark shadows. Many users swear how it awakens their eyes, making them look fresher. 👁
I’ve been testing it out for a week and finds it very moisturizing but not oily. I think it helps improve the look of my eye area but it’s probably too early to conclude. I’m holding off my Aromatica Eye Cream for now in favor of this. Hopefully I’ll be back with very good reviews soon. .
Tata Harper’s range is high end but so far, the products I’ve tried perform above expectations.

TATA HARPER-Aromatic Bedtime Treatment
Tata Harper Regenerating Cleanser ($84)
This beauty is one of the many cleansers offered in the tataharperskincare line. The Regenerating Cleanser is a natural BHA from White Willow Bark Extract and apricot microsphere exfoliant that is said to be gentle enough for daily use. Tata recommends to start out using this on dry skin and gently massage in. The cleanser is really creamy even though it has bits of apricot in it so it smooths really nicely over the skin. I use this both wet and dry and love it either way. This makes my skin look so soft and radiant! I personally don’t use this every day, I use it about 2-3 times a week, but I do find it to be very gentle. I do tend to avoid the eye area with this product and go in with a micellar water for my eye makeup. A huge plus, totally unrelated to the performance, is that this smells EXACTLY like fruit loops and makes the experience so lovely. I have really enjoyed having this in my routine, I see a big difference when I am consistently using this and when I am not.

Finally got my hands on a full size of the @tataharperskincare Resurfacing Mask a few weeks ago & I’m even more in love than before! 💫
I use it once a week & it’s like I have a new face afterwards. Lol. It was pricey at $65 but absolutely worth the investment in my opinion. 🙌🏾
My face feels so smooth after using this. They recommend 20-30 minutes. I’m still working my way up to 30. But it delivers results regardless! 👍🏾

The Tata Harper Very Flashy Cream Highlighter is a new favorite of mine. I haven’t found a good nose bridge and inner eye highlighter that looks and is natural. This gives me a little pop of light sans any harsh chemicals on my skin.
